Botanical 3-for-3 ATC Swap (February)
This is the second object in an on-going series of nomination guaranteed* objects for pending members. Zhenechka and ptchika hosted the first one in January and I'm using Zhenechka's format and some of her words, as I just couldn't say it better.
1. Make three ATCs. This is a themed swap so all three should be related to plants in some way. Any type of plant, any part of it, realistic, abstract, inspired by but not necessarily resembling a plant, the main subject of the card, a little bit off to the side of the card with something else as the main subject, colored naturalistically or surrealistically. Trees, leaves, flowers, ferns, cacti, lichen, vines, and so forth and so on... I wanted to provide just a little focus for this swap instead of doing a completely open version, but as long as its related to the vegetable kingdom its good. The three ATCs can be the same or different. 2. If you include any actual plant matter on your cards please note it on the back. No vegetation can be mailed to Australia or New Zealand in order to protect the ecosystems of islands. Feel free to use these materials, just let me know so I can swap them out appropriately. 3. Do you best work. A good test for this is to ask yourself if you'd be overjoyed to receive these ATCs. If not, then no one else probably will be either. Feel free to start over. 4. Mail your 3 ATCs to me postmarked by Monday, 28 February, 2005 and write "February Swap" somewhere on the envelope. 5. If you need an extension for any reason at all please contact me, preferably before the deadline, but shortly thereafter is alright as well. Communication is an important part of participating in nervousness. Do talk to your host if there is any issue that will keep you from making a deadline. 6. Postage is appreciated but NOT required. 7. If you have any questions please feel free to ask, either by posting in this thread or by pming me. If you'd like feedback on your ATCs I would be happy to provide it. I've made and seen quite a few over the last nine months. 8. Now for the nomination guaranteed* bit. All pending members who meet the deadline, do their best work, and communicate will receive a nomination/second. Any pending member who misses the deadline without contacting me about it, i.e. flakes, will receive an anti-nomination. Sign up in this thread please. There are an infinite number of spots, so sign up at any point during the month of February. Just make sure that you can meet the deadline. If you're not certain, there are volunteers lined up to host similar objects for the next few months. Never made an ATC before? Here's the perfect opportunity to give it a try. The only hard rules are they must be 2.5" x 3.5" and they cannot be sold. A couple of good sites about them are Alpaca's Art in Your Pocket and Lisani's site. Both have excellent examples of ATCs to inspire you. If you have any questions about any aspect of ATCs, please ask them. Chances are other people are wondering the same thing. *Some restrictions apply. Please read description for details. Last edited by Pumpkin12pm : 01-31-2005 at 10:33 AM. |

Yep, there's plenty of space. There will be as much space as there are people who think they get cards done by the postmark date.
