Hi all -

I have a six-year old who wishes she could get cool mail like me and is sad whenever she checks the mail because she doesn't get any.

Madeline is 6 1/2 and has a serious, sensitive soul. Her life isn't easy either. I separated from her dad 2 years ago, she has a little brother who loves to mess with her mind...and daddy has a girlfriend with an 11 year old son and now they have a new baby! Its hard enough to be 6 without also having to deal with two households, lots of siblings and trying to do all the stuff that you have to do when you are six! Anyway, if anyone would like to send her mail I know she would be beyond thrilled belief.

In some ways shes a pretty typical little girl - likes pink, purple, fairies, Barbie, puppies, kittens and babies. She loves to colour and paint and draw...and anything involving attaching one thing to another with tape is always a thrill - I should take out stock in 3M. I know she is looking for a "magical friend" just for her that she can tell her problems and sadnesses to (that conversation nearly broke my heart!).

Now of course, to be fair...if someone would like to send something to Alex (her bro)...that would be awesome. He's an easy-going almost 5 year old. He's a superhero kid, likes cars, movies and cuddles (thank goodness)...

I would love to send her something. :) Maybe I can even con my room mate into making something as well.

That's so great...she will be SO thrilled. I'm going to drop something in the mail for both of them - though it won't mean as much!

My almost 6 yr old son loves making ATCS, lol. He has been sending a few things to people on PostcardX; I bet he would love to send to some other kiddos! I have just the thing for your daughter (with 3 boys, I hoarde girlstuff and then spoil the nearest little girl! LOL) Will send stuff for both, and will try to get my guy in on the fun!! :)

That's so cool nici! I'm gonna get them involved in making some thank you's too...its a good lesson in how to be polite! Plus I think showing kids how much other people, even people you don't know, can bring you some joy is a wonderful lesson!

She was so cute yesterday. I got a smatchel-made postcard, some ATCs for the false advertising swap and the passport from you all at once- She asked me if I like getting mail a lot. For the first time in my life I could actually say yes! That's when I knew I HAD to do something.

I know exactly what you're talking about. My daughter is 7 and is constantly peering at my mail pile asking "Got any extras??"
Today, Alluvion sent her bracelets she had made as part of an exchange we did....Sara was SOOO excited. She also loves to send mail, and always races me to the mailbox.
So I'll have my kid send something to your kid by the end of the week.

I would love to send things to her. I will try and get something together today. She sounds just like an Anne-girl.

I went to put my package in the mail this weekend, only to discover that where I thought the post office was, it really wasn't! Now all that remains is to actually find a post office near my apartment.

Alright...this summer has been nuts and you guys have all been SO generous. So Madeline and I agreed that the thank you cards weren't going to happen so here is a special message from her to everyone (typed by me):

Thank you everyone for the stuff you gave me. I like it very much!

Love, Madeline XOXOXOXOXO

What can I say...she's a girl of few words! Anyway...a big thank you from me as well! It felt like Christmas every time something new arrived at our house.

You guys all ROCK!
