Please check this page (http://measi.diary-x.com/?entry=missinglmaos) and if you own the objects, please save me some time in contacting everyone... drop me a line via email measi2@aol.com or on my Q&A's.
She has a lot more than I thought she did, and even though I've been going through them, I'm still not done (keep checking back tonight for more details), and I'd like to get through the contact process ASAP.
Thanks,
Mel.

Hi! Did you get one called "Talk to the Tape" with a casette tape inside? http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif It probably has a pink or bright red cover inside the tape case...
The person before her on my LMAO sent it out so long ago so I'm assuming they *must* have sent it to her... she was next on the list but I told the person to skip her and I don't think she did?
Hmmm...
Just let me know if you run into it
I really appreciate it!! Thank you so much for doing this for all of us... you're so sweet!

I didn't see one with that title. There were a couple of audio tapes, but they were both ones owned by chunkeymonkey. I will sort through them again as I get them moving, though.

First, I want to say - thank you measi!
It's alot of work and alot of expense to do what you've done.
I appreciate it very much.
I can NOT believe how many objects iwannabepicasso had in her possession. If it weren't for you, perhaps all of those objects would have been lost forever. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
I have contacted the next two people in line for "Cut It Out" because boddah4 seems to be having some problems right now and is not accepting LMAO's. I did check with her (just to make sure).
I did q&a the next in line, lessherger, I will be sure to let you know, when I hear back.
Again thank you so much.

I was surprised at how many she had, too.
Measi, do you need any $$$ help to cover your ups expenses? I could send you something. It's not fair for you to shoulder the burden for all that.

Thank you so much! I counted. she had like 43 or something like that. I was surprised at the back up! It's so great you are doing this! I sent her stamps to help out, but I guess she decided to keep them for herself. :/ She knew I couldn't afford that either. I think she did this for a couple others too

Actually, so was I. My computer table is swamped with them. I should take a photo of it-- it's the ultimate LMAO nightmare right now. Maybe I should make it my penpalling and nervousness christmas card cover. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
In her defense, several of these LMAO's were unlabeled. Literaelly blank-- no return address, no LMAO title, nothing. Thankfully she kept them in the envelopes she received them in, or I'd never know where they were going to go. And a few of them are obnoxiously heavy books-- those heavyweight 8x11 journals. I was surprised someone used those for an LMAO. but hey... not my projects. *shrug*
To answer your question about expenses, Liz-- it's really not going to cost me quite as much out-of-pocket as people think. Other than ones going overseas (Canada counts as USA on this one), I can get most of this out, as I do with many of my LMAO's, via my company's mail. I work for a publishing company, and we send soooooo many things out in large, padded envelopes to vendors (books, CD's, zip disks, etc.) that they literally go unnoticed, and almost everyone here sends at least some personal things out per month. Hence why I'm able to handle the amount I do. Anyone in the USA who has received an LMAO from me has probably noticed the shipping label on the front from my work address. That's why. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Ones that have to go overseas (and on occasion, ones to Canada) I take to the post office. Without the abundance of US mail in the way, it's really not that expensive.
I'm all set. I just wish you guys could get the money back. Hopefully no one sent TOO much to her. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Ah, the old company mail room. I've been known to send a lmao or two through there. Just don't get busted for it. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif My office never said I could send personal stuff through it, but then again, they never said I couldn't, either. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Exactly.
They were the ones that made the mistake of saying "As long as it has the correct mailing code on it, we can't open it."
Yep. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Hi again! Actually... the tape for my LMAO would have been *from* ChunkyMonkey! http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif She was the one its lost with... she was supposed to send to iwannabepicasso next and she said she sent it out quite a while ago so I assumed it had to be with her stuff? If you go through ChunkyMonkey's audio tapes, can you check to see if one of them was started by me? http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif I'm sorry to bother you though... you must have *so* many things to take care of... she sent you SOOO many things I was shocked he he
- Sorry, I posted this as a question to you but I figured I might as well put it here so maybe ChunkyMonkey will see it and let me know who she really sent it to (because I asked her to skip iwannabepicasso but I might have told her too late?)
or if she maybe didn't send it yet? I asked her questions but she hasn't answered yet http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
I hope I can find my tape http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Thanks so much for all your help
I really appreciate it!
I'm gonna give you feedback just for your troubles he he

Thanks again Melissa.
As per q &a:
Ok. re the lmaos from iwannabepicasso. feeling sheepish comes home.
nervous survey for new webpage is due to go to roach next, if she is ready.
tourist traps only has one more signup, Junanne
acronyms explained has no more signups, so it can come home. I think that's everything. Thank you for doing this and do give me an idea of how much postage for 'my' lmaos was.
PS Roach is in Australia. It's ok with me if you want to find somebody in the USA who is signed up for the 'nervous survey' lmao to send it to.
PPS which varieties of tim tam have you tried?

Hi again Mermaid--
If I could send it within the USA, that would be wonderful, thanks. There are several of these LMAO's that will be moving overseas for the next in line. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif If I have another one to send to Roach, though, I'll just send both to her.
I think the only tim tam flavor I've tried are the dark chocolate. Carol gave me one a few months ago. I'll try anything, though! I'm the adventurous eater and really not afraid of most things (and I dislike very few things, usually due to texture more than taste).
Off to bed... 'night all,
Mel.

i don't have the time right now, but i'd love to go to those lmao pages measi rescued and just count how many people were in line for each one that was stalled. i'm sure it's a large number.
because nervousness is a dynamic system even a couple stalled lmaos cause gridlock
i would think that getting them all back on track would add a lot of positive energy to nn, a lot of frenzied activity...
thanks measi! yr legend grows

I've been following this LMAO "rescue mission" with great interest. I'm a relative newbie here, but already I'm on 3 or 4 missing in action LMAOs. I have a few ideas that might help prevent these LMAOs from being lost: I think often we sign on to things impulsively without really thinking about the comittment involved once the object arrives - perhaps there ought to be a "waiting period" once the list is filled and before the object is sent on to give hesitant folks a chance to withdraw with dignity. Another idea, and Measli already touched on this, is the cost of participating -- I received a big, very heavy journal which I now have to send off to Australia. If the creator of the object had made it clear what was involved, I for sure would have had second thoughts about signing on for it. I think we creators should do the research on postal costs and be upfront in our object descriptions so everyone is very clear about costs. Perhaps we need a "gatekeeper" of some kind to "intervene" when someone is signed up for more than, I don't know, 6 objects?? Make sure the person can handle all the objects? I know that one is unwieldy, but some kind of system like that might help alot. At any rate, I have been trying to nudge some of the stalled LMAOs on and am hoping for the best. I love all the creativity here and wish for it to prosper and shine! :)
