my mom loaded my car down with crap. she drove 4 hours with her car stuffed full of junk to pass on to me. i don't even know what all is in there. too tired to bother with it. i do know she gave us her christmas tree. it was too big for my little car, so the boy rode the 3 1/2 hours home with his feet on the dashboard. well, looks like we're gonna have a christmas tree this year. gotta start getting excited about that....

I have been sitting here since 10ish working on my websites, and since they are not ready to go live, I have nothing to show for it.
A friend of ours registered a web address and wants me to design his site... I have never done one from scratch. All the ones I am doing now were designed by someone else and I am just doing the updates and stuff.
I have Dreamweaver MX, so it's not like I have to do EVERYTHING myself.
********************************************************************
I had a fairly good Turkey Day.
I bought some Midori Sour tasting coolers to give me a little buzz and take my edge off. I am pretty high-strung, but only got a little edgy when I was trying to finish up the carving and setting the food out and almost everyone was in my kitchen.
After saving a medium sized storage container of Stuffing I THREW AWAY the rest of the pan because there is only so many times you can eat suffing. I also threw away the rest of the green bean casserole because even though I like it, but my mom used the 'regular' green beans and I only like the French cut so I didn't eat it in the first place, plus no one else wanted to take it home.
I was going to throw away the rest of the apple pie (because it wasn't that good), and the rest of the cheesecake (because no one in this house needs to eat any of it) but I think my hubby took it to the shop to offer to the neighbors.
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
My sink or dishwasher (I don't know which one) kinda backed up last night while cleaning up because my pipes sometimes don't drain so good. (I also think the really tiny cesspool (yuck) needs pumping.)
Normally if it does that it makes the toilets bubble to get air into the lines or into one of the tubs and it will drain away slowly, but last night since our one toilet is not on the sewage pipe it flooded the bathroom we JUST tore the floor out of AND since it got the dish towel we had plugging the pipe (to keep the stinky gases out) wet, the towel went down in to the pipe :o . Luckily my hubby was able to retrieve it otherwise we would be SCREWED!
So I couldn't run the dishwasher again, and today I have been washing like one or 2 things at a time over the course of the day to give the water the chance to soak in to what ever it soaks into.

oh dear. a very old friend just tried to sell me on jesus in my live journal comments section. i don't think that was appropriate at all. is it time for a new journal? i don't want to hurt his feelings and un-friend him.
ok, so I'M worried about hurting his feelings, but he has no qualms about discussion my beliefs out in the open like that? what is my problem? we have nothing in common anymore. he came to my wedding last year. that was the first time i had seen him in years, and i haven't seen him since. he voted for bush and when i asked him why (in a polite way) he said he would tell me later and never did.
now i'm paranoid that he'll somehow find this and get mad at me. um, why is it that i care? shouldn't i be mad at him? grrr...people.

Fortitude is an exquisite virtue, one that is so very overlooked in these modern times of instant gratification. Until I really had to study it, in order to aquire any credits as an artist, I suffered from a kind of self imposed delusion that it wasn't important.
Some would tell me that knowing how to dress is more important

~ Oh, I had a dream last night about Zanna! It was so strange and felt so REAL. Even thinking back on it now, it seems like it's an actual memory, not just remembering a dream. In the dream I was in Zanna's dorm which looked like a huge fancy old victorian house. She was in her bedroom with the door open and I ran past in the hallway. I heard a voice shout "SarahKate!" so I peaked into her doorway and I knew it was her. I flopped down on her bed because I was tired and asked "how did you know it was me?" "Because of your black hair. I knew it had to be you." "But I don't have black hair," I thought but didn't say out loud. Then I walked around the streets of some city with her and some strange girls. Very odd indeed.
haha! that's some dream, girl.

I read in the paper today that cokes bottled in Mexico are much better than our cokes because they use cane sugar instead of corn syrup. Now I am wondering where I can get a Mexican coke.

I can get you a Mexican coke. 335612
Thanks Tanna! Have you ever tried one? We live near a large hispanic enclave so I am going to check out some Mexican grocery stores. But if I can't find one, I'll let you know.

I had one in Ensenada, and the roach coach that used to come to my work sold them. To me they taste flatter, not enough fizz. But I think all bottled soda/pop tastes flatter. I'm a fan of fountian Cokes more.

Oh such a breathtaking beautiful day here, I went for a three-mile hike along the ridge and did some sketches of the flowers and collected some seeds from the old experimental gardens we planted last spring before the hurricanes. Some of the marigold varieties actually survived and went to seed. :)
When I got home I found a snake in my garage, I have to go out there and get a better look and ID it. It's welcome to stay as long as it's non-poisonous. They eat spiders, mice, rats, squirrels. If I hear any "rattling noises" NO WAY!! eekks!
Which reminds me, I haven't seen the little squirrel that was sneaking in the garage lately and pilfering the bird seed.

COFFEE JELLO
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups coffee
2 tbsp gelatin powder
2 tbsp sugar
whipped cream for topping
PREPARATION:
Mix gelatin powder and 4 tbsp of water in a small cup. Mix coffee, sugar, and the gelatin in a pan and stir well over low heat. Strain the mixture and pour into small cups. Put the cups in the fridge. Put some whipped cream on top of the jello before serving.

siafu
11-28-2004, 07:31 PM
yeah, go for the Knox. though you may need a bit more than that amount. the package should give proportions.
Iced Tea Gelatin
1st step: Dissolve one package of lemon Jell-O in 1 1/4 cups very strong black tea.
2nd step: Add 3/4 cup fresh orange juice and 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice. Refrigerate until semi-firm. A little grated ginger is good in this, too; stir it in once the dessert is partially jelled, and then let it finish firming.
yup. they're both for real recipes. and i won't talk about the meat milkshake recipe i came across during my search.

I want to see Ask Jeeves and GoogleBot duke it out, parking lot style!!
Larrissa hasn't been online in a few hours and that freaks me out... quite a bit.
I wonder what's for dinner?

We saw "Finding Neverland" (though I thought we were never going to find the movie!)
I liked it!
The I-like-action-films, short-attention-span crowd probably won't like it. Screw them.
