I'm paranoid about early voting. I want to give "them" the least amount of time to "lose" my vote as possible. I'm still torn on who to vote for and not as resigned as I thought I was.
I'm finishing the last of the banana bread. What am I going to eat tomorrow???
I've had a splitting headache for two days. Normally if I get some sleep they pass, but not this one! Grrrrrr Ow!

The cats are very highstrung lately. Must start letting them outside.
I'm hoping Larrissa will help me drink all this tea! It's ridiculous. I'll have to post a picture of my tea stash later. Someone remind me or poke me or something

I had green tea with honey for breakfast and made J a cup so I could use his bags for an eye bath...he thinks there is going to be more, but there isn't.
I've got to do my order, mail off a LMAO, Vote, so our supervisor of elections can have something to thwart, etc.
My eyes are open but the brain and body have not fully engaged, it's a bit like yesterday, only worse...

We had a very loud thunderstorm last night. Lots of thunder, lightening and torrential rain. This weather is making everyone miserable with sinus problems.
Memphis is one of the top ten worst places to live if you have allergies or upper respiratory issues. I know people from here who had asthma and then moved away and never had symptoms again.
OK. I will get some more pics of Gwen but I will have to ask Gwensdad's permission before I post one of him. He's pretty cute.

1. I cut about 4 layers of skin off the top of my right hand (ring and pinkie fingers) last night. They're stiff, and I can't do much with them--that means no mailart.
2. I saw my cousin for the first time in 6 years saturday at the babyshower for his baby. Due any time, he is to be named Zeppellin Lee.
3. A local craft store (Pat Catan's) is having a sale on eyelash yarn and funfur... Time to stock up for the holidays!

That is, when I cough...usually, I just gag
Maybe I should dig out my inhaler....

~ Hey! I was just going to post about Tana and THERE she is! Hi Tana! I got a  package from you yesterday... thanks for the tunes! :D
~ I think I'm getting sick. No! I don't have TIME to be sick. I have too many things to do. My throat is sore, my ears are hurty, and so is my head. :(
~ Last night I had a dream that I found out my boyfriend was cheating on me with a frumpy older Swedish woman. She worked in a library and wore old lady sweaters. I don't know what that was all about.

Are you worried you aren't mature enough for the C man??? That's my interpretation... Of course you are mature enough for him, SK...
1. I am wearing a pink target shirt, the proceeds of which go to breast cancer research.
2. I want batgirl socks.
3. I'm thinking of starting a collection of superhero-themed socks, as I put supergirl socks through the washer and the dryer and both socks came out (very weird indeed for me--usually I lose a sock or two).

1. I did a complete makeover of my bed, mattress pad, flannel sheets with leaf motifs, lovely quilt, etc. maybe I'll visit it sometime before 2am instead of like last night.
2. I must be on a roll because I not only put on underwear today, (unlike yesterday's naughty naughty) but it actually matchs and I feel like some Victoria Secret model.
3. As soon as I can decide what shoes to wear, I'm busting out of here and heading downtown....so look out!

Ack. I've been in ancient Uruk for the last 3 days and I'm exhausted. Awful accomodations, but I did get to meet the mother of God.
I miss Pat Catan's! I used to live about 10 blocks from the one on Cleveland's west side and it was a favorite distraction.
I wish everybody could hear the kind of news reported on Air America. I'm shocked at how much is hidden in the back pages of major papers -- and completely absent from TV or local newspaper coverage.

~ Hehee. That's actually a very logical interpretation of my dream BUT if you knew my boyfriend you would be laughing too. Mature. Hehehe.
~ I guess Cory is neither mature or immature. At times I feel like I'm his mother, telling him what to do because he doesn't know how and won't do anything unless he is told to. Then on the other hand he is kind of like a boring old man.
~ Hmm.. Nicole's interpretation really does make sense because I have to admit, even though I was jealous in my dream, I was actually sort of relieved because I was able to leave him guilt free since he was the one who ruined the relationship. I probably feel deep in my heart that he is better suited with some older boring woman like the one in my dream who will take care of him, and won't mind sitting around the house doing nothing but watching tv. <_< Hmm... interesting.

1. I'm downtown and at the library, checking out the PC's here and waiting 1/2 an hour before I go over to the eye doctor to have whatever is in my right eye, taken out....it keep tearing up on me so everyone is giving me looks like "What is she crying about? poor girl. Tears falling like rain down my cheeks.
2. Larissa is making funny jokes about me, but I promise you it's not an addiction. An addiction would require much more ritual and routine than I am capable of.
3. Oh my oh my! A sight for my sore eyes just walked into the room, wonder how long I can get away with feasting on this! :P
PS. Oh by the way, Larrissa, I had a look at "The Onion" and I was  last night.

I wonder: is she one of the insurgents or is she just one of the citizens there?
...I'm ridiculously late getting up this morning.
It's still raining.

harrison is eating more and more by mouth every day- today i have decided to skip his tube feeds altogether to see how much he'll eat if he's let to get hungry enough...
he's also walking about 75% of the time now!!!
and julian pulled a 100 pound closet over on top of himself yesterday.... :o he was sent to his room for a time out because he was rowdy at the lunch table and a few minutes later i heard what sounded like his desk top slamming and then he started to scream.... so i ran i n there and he ws under the closet and i lifted it (i dont' know how, my back has been sooo bad lately i can barely lift harrison!) and he crawled out... then i sat and held him for about ten minutes, checking him over... he has a bruise on his arm, a couple of red marks around his eyes where his glasses dug into his face, and a scratch on his back... holy crap was i scared shitless!!!! my poor baby, and he kept saying 'sorry mommy, sorry i drop my closet on me'.... poor baby... he had put a belt through the two handles, pretending that it was a lock and chain for his closet.. and he was pulling it and it tipped over on him.... 'me pull my belt and my closet falls and me run really fast, but my closet was too big and i got squished!!'.... it's funny to think about it and his description now.. but i wouldn't even let him sleep, thinking what if he hit his head and has a concussion or something!!!! :P the joys of boys....

it's been snowing for three days.....
it's darn cold in this house!!!
i'm glad the water tap in the tub drips.. or the pipes would have frozen already!!! our power was out the other night (which means the heat is out and the water!!!) and by the time it came back on, the water was only coming out in dribbles- until i ran it for about five minutes, long enough to get the hot going and melt the ice!!! chris put some kind of heating tape on the pipes under the house....

1. Whatever was in my eye is now out but it's all red and sore and Dr. has given me a perscription for eye drops, etc...he thinks it'll be a week or so before it's healed. I have a black satin eye patch (a real one) and he advised me to keep the eye in darkness and let it rest and heal. I drop 4 times a day....duh <_<
2. I drove over to my pharmacy and the pharmacist informed me that the medicine prescribed is on back order and they didn't have it, so I had to go driving around town with one eye to the next damn drugstore
3. When I got home V. shows up a knocking on my garage door. She's leaving for Georgia in the morning and wanted to say good-bye. She was shocked by my eye, she's filled with a lot of resentment because she didn't get to see Lee and blames Blummy for that! and so on and so forth,etc... I encouraged her to "Fuggitaboutit" and go enjoy Athens! If my teeth and eyes weren't falling apart, I'd be packing my bags and headphones and be off with her. She promised she'd call me when she arrives....Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! :'(

you should have seen chris's face when he came home a couple weeks ago (on one of my very tired days and i was caught up on dishes for my thanksgiving company) and i asked him if he wanted me to heat up some pizza pops or corn dogs for supper....
then i told him i fed his son a chicken pot pie for lunch...
i never used to even keep that kind of food (convenient, prepackaged kind of stuffs) in my house... .when i'm pregnant and tired though, i tend to stock up.... <_<

1. J made me spinach and mushroom pizza tonight and he put xtra cheese, carrots(good for my eyes he says) it's like something you'd fed your neopet! Antioxidents, I must get them inside me, he says
2. J says I look sexy with the eye patch  but I believe it's because I can't wear my glasses and the patch at the same time, so it's like he's getiing mixed signals.
3. Yeah, Yeah! He's handing me headkerchiefs and wants to play pirates, etc.    These are the only eyes I will be able to roll for awhile :D OK OK! So I AM A BUCANEERS FAN!!! and Halloween is coming, but I wanted to be a flapper for that party and got all the fringe to sew on my costume, etc. etc. Skewered AGAIN dang it all....Hang it to hell!
4. J. is just roaring with laughter about it
5. I'm so glad I learned to touch type without looking at the keyboard etc. I used to practice typing in the dark..so I couldn't cheat and look at the keyboard cause that's what slows your typing speed down.
6. Guess I may as well brush up on my Braille.
7. I've harbored a secret desire for a dog ever since I laid eyes on Jackie's Russell
Terrier, Scooter, but I guess a large German Shepard that could walk me will do just fine.
8. See, secretly my intuition told me this morning "Make YOUR bed nice and pretty, your going to be there for awhile. Goodnight Nessies!

I know what that's like, I wore a patch over my eye for....a couple years
I also had eye surgery (where we found out I'm pseudocholinesterase deficient, and I almost died)
We also found out my sister is pseudocholinesterase deficient after that, through a simple blood test :P

So go as a flapper at a fancy dress party, dressed as a pirate. It's a subtle distinction, I know - a conceptual thing
Though, admittedly, not being able to roll your one visible eye would detract seriously from building the flapper image under the pirate costume.
Something tells me I'm not even going to bother with NaNoWriMo this year.
I don't mind, though.
I have been avoiding stuff I'm supposed to be doing very, very efficiently the last week or so. Comes of lots of practice.

There are variations on this same theme everywhere.
Darn organized religous leaders are telling the congregations that is "a sin" to vote for Kerry because of his standing on this one issue.
And people are voting for Bush because it. Shit.

I actually took tylenol for the pain of my thumb...which seems silly almost to take medicine for a thumb. But it hurts that badly...

I just got back from a town hall meeting hosted by the TN Department of Mental Retardation Services. It was not an easy thing to sit through. People in TN with mentally disabled relatives have been suffering with no help for years. The pain and anguish in that room was almost palpable.
My case manager still says we will be among the first 600 to get off the waiting list early next year. If this really happens it could significantly change our lives for the better.
Next Monday I'm going to a seminar on financial planning for families with special needs. I wonder how you are supposed to do financial planning when you have no finances.

But if you think about it we CAN'T afford NOT to get a new washer. A friend of ours who does this kind of thing for a living said the new transmission (typical that's what would go out on something owned by a transmission builder  ) would be $200 and I paid $300 for it 6 years go...so no.
I got as much life out of it as I could by taking the front panel off and blowing our box fan on the motor/trans to keep it cool so it wouldn't heat up and sieze, but this weekend it gave up the ghost.
The new one I got has a 5 year warranty on the transmission :).

He used to be an Oakland A. That boy needs a Ring. The A's are choke artists and I don't think all of their great rookies deserve to get so close to the Series and blow it like they have the past... what, FIVE years? gah. I still love Oakland, though.
They've lost so many great players due to that Choke tactic. Except GIAMBI. That rat fink can go suck on an egg. I don't respect him anymore.

Ok...here is the question I'm posing to myself at the moment: "If someone says something so nice to you and treats you so well, then why...despite the obvious happiness...is there also a twinge of saddness?"
I think the answer is that the saddness comes from knowing that no matter how sweet he is being and how happy he can make me feel, I don't think there is a long term future for us.
And I think that part of that saddness comes from wanting something more from someone who you probably won't get it from. Wanting a future and a feeling that you might not get.
*sigh*...it doesn't much matter. I still like him. And for every second he makes me sad, he makes me happy just as often.

I say live in the moment, sweetheart- who know when it will be your last.
The time to worry about the future will come, when it is time to worry about it.
for me, the time to make moves on my future is NOW. But I still have my fun from day to day.

1. Tonight I found out someone I had a serious love affair with, died of a sudden heart attack about two weeks ago. I didn't know anything about this until tonight. He was a wonderful person. We both suffered from unrequited love with other people, until we first met and made each other happy. He was my confidant and I his confidante. The last time I was with him, I never thought would be the last but it is, and it was so very good. :'( He was all tangled up with someone and very unhappy and I was about to go into the same situation myself. It is only because of him I did not get involved.
2. I broke down and cried. :'( No wonder why things were going so GOOD :D for me. MYLUCKYSTREAKANDBROKENHEART
Another guardian angel watching over me... :'( and my heart.
3. I know it's because he tried to do too much in the two months of the hurricanes to help with the disaster relief. That is the kind of a man he was...truely helpful, kind, and a rare gentleman and knight in shining armour. I could go on and on but I am not going there. Please excuse me, I am very devaststated, must retreat back into my stagnation chamber.
"Just relax" I hear him whisper, "Just go to sleep".

LOL! Actually that is the point of the class. Not so much paradigm shifting but paradigm formation. And we don't tell them what to believe, either. They have to figure that out for themselves, or at least start thinking about it.

I have a wicked caffeine withdrawal headache. Off to remedy that with a coke...

Can I just say I hate Saturday nights????? And the pressure I feel to be merry and bright on the city streets surrounded by irridescent people in love and lust and like all crowding into life?
I am going to do an anti war rant at a performance gallery in a couple of hours which will help to alleviate some of my frustration
but, still, I'm going home alone. :(

I wish I were capable of feeling entertained by politics at this point. It has me positively terrified.
I see siafu! Long time too little see!
I wonder if siafu has had time to go to the Portland gallery that's started showing our stuff yet. Probably not, from the sounds of her schedule recently.

1. Welcome to the Sunshine State,LARRISSA! it's a real swinging state or so i have been informed by all the cit-zens of the other 50 states. Hope you brought plenty of Anti-perspire-ants because now that you are in Florida you will sweat from places you never dreamed it possible (Just kidding, haha) :D Take it from a native. Can't wait to read all about the bus trip.
2. Ah sent ya all a little something to share. It will probably arrive Monday or Tuesday, etc. and I hope you will find it interesting.
3. None of the movies at the mall looked interesting enough that I couldn't wait to see them in DVD and my eye isn't quite healed, so KC and I shopped. KC bought another one of those Precious Memories ornaments for her mom, who has a house full of them--When you walk in there, you think you're on an alien planet. There are at least 50 in every room, stare in at ya! I bought two pairs of jeans, a baseball cap, and a key chain with a timer and recorder in it - this way I can keep track of how long and often J annoys me and talk to myself instead of trying to talk to him. It's time to return to my inner sanctum. Nitey-Nite, ya'll! :D

I've eaten plenty, and plenty of salt and grease for the day, but I suddenly have this craving for salt&vinegar potato chips.
Luckily, there aren't any around.
I'm getting offline now, in case someone is trying to call me from Montréal.
