Very, very true. In time, though, that third of your life will become a quarter, then a fifth, and so on.
The quarter of my life I spent with someone won't become a sixth for a few years yet.
And yeah, it warped things.

i have half a inclination to ask him to meet me at the dallas layover to say goodbye. i did leave him under the false pretense that i was coming back. he knows now, but the phone and a postcard just dont seem to do it for me. maybe a new person ... and time will solve it.
i have this thing the past couple days where i have a definition in my head and a sentence to use a word in ... but the word doesnt show up. and i flounder and try to grasp onto the appropriate word, but no luck.

My Bush-meme for tonight's debate is "peck" -- I was able to visualize, alternately, a domestic chicken and the animated Henry the chicken hawk (a Foghorn Leghorn foil).
If the mainstream media is indeed picking up my memes, I may need to start wearing that foil helmet after all...

I forgot to mention earlier: this afternoon around one o'clock we had the strangest light for a while. The sunlight was turned orange, seriously orange, so that car paint colors looked funny and white walls had an alpenglow.
I've never seen anything like that before at midday - it was like early sunset light, except for the angle.

i was lonely in my dorm room all by myself and missing my animals back home, so last weekend i got a beta fish!
i've never had a fish as a pet, ever.
i named him ferguson darling --and if you know what that's from without googling it, you get mad cool points!
i woke up this morning and there was ferguson darling's little plant floating at the top of the fish tank! he's such a destructive little fish.

My son is home sick today. Coughing and running a slight fever.
It's so difficult, when I get up at 6 AM to find out I have a sick child that can't go to school, to find someone to come sit with him so that I can go to work.
Luckily my Dad agreed to come out. He said he'll stay until 12:00 or so (like right now) and then take him to my Grandma's house.
So, I 'll have to pick him up there. I really hope he doesnt get her sick, too. I worry because the elderly seem to pick up pnuemonia so easlily
I think I'm going to try to leave early.

~ It's cold here in upstate NY too. We had to finally break down and turn our heat on last week.
~ I'm sleepy but I have 3 hours of work left, then I have to be at a cardio training class of some sort at the gym at 7:00, and after that I have to somehow right a 3 to 5 page paper which I have to submit online by midnight.
~ We had to choose a company to write our paper on, so I picked Barnes and Noble. Hopefully I will find enough information online about them.

~ I wish I had a niece or nephew, but it's more likely that I will be a mother before I'm an aunt.
~ I had a Nervousness-person dream last night. And it was about Larrissa!! We were in Mexico or Peru, can't remember which exactly. So we were riding around in this big old Cadillac convertible and Larrissa was driving!! I had some cats with me. It was weird. Oh and then we were going to take some photos in a photobooth to send to all of you N'ness people, so Larrissa insisted on putting a green goopey face mask on first. :P

'moving the crib' to julian's room turned into three hours of arrange/rearrange clean up the mess under unmoved for a year furniture and fight with hubby becuase he sees the need to do unnecessary to the task at hands things.... <_<
the boys now share a room... fact: my baby monitor is broken!!! i didn't realize it until last night when i got the kids into bed- i only use it when i am at the computer and harrison and julian are napping, so it really REALLY doesn't get used since i got home...
bonus to that though- i slept through the night for the first time in.... almost two years.... with no kid beside me in his crib to wake me up.... bad side- well, i dont' know if HE slept, but he was bright eyed and bushy tailed at 630 this morning.... luckily he didn't wake julian up....

hurrah!!! i'm pretty proud... but i thought that she and my sister would be tired of me calling them every time he 'did' soemthing.... 'oh, harrison ate a green bean!!' 'harrison's eating macaroni!!!' 'harrison said 'all done'!!!'...

 tires? thats awful!
once my sister had a psycho ex that put paint remover all over her fancy prelude, slashed all the tires, and smashed out the back window. this is the boy my dad went to jail for barging into a strangers house and threatening to deal out some death to mister psycho. now that i think of it, my mom and i both were arrested that day too. I took my grandma to get her hair done today and went over to the Post Office to mail out some Super Sneaky stuff.
It was the coolest post office I have ever been in http://www.ci.glendale.ca.us/Historic/post_office.html I looked around on the internet to find interior pictures of it, but i quess that's considered a threat to national security now.

The last week has been cold and positively autumnal, but today is t-shirt weather again. We're finally getting our October heat wave; fire weather will come any day now.
This morning at the cafe you could follow the oohs and ohmygods to find the incredibly cute baby... in a monkey suit. It was extremely well done, and adorable, and no doubt the kid will be scarred for life....
I really wanted to get a picture for y'all, but it would seem kind of weird: "Hi, can I take a picture of your baby to post on the internet? It's just that some friends of mine online have this thing for stuffed monkeys...." Might not go over well.
Hell, a picture of that might even make Rustell want to have a kid.
Where's she got to, anyway?

In just two short weeks I will be one of those people that only has one job again. My student-teaching has ended early (so I can take the position the school has offered me) and the Spooky Ooky Halloween Bash will be my last adventure at the Community Center.
And, I had an ultra-sound done on Monday, watching the monitor made me think about the baby thing. However, they would not print out a picture of my gall bladder for me to hang on my refrigerator and taunt my friends and family with....
...anyway, I know have about 120 kids, so I still am not needing one to call my own...

I'm here because of Siafu....I am in the midst of creting some documents for school and saw her name on my Yahoo list which brought me here. It was something shiny to distract me when I needed a distraction.

My student teaching was unpaid, so I continued to work full-time while I was completing it.
I am teaching World Cultures and Health and Environmental Sciences. Ahem, yes, that's right...it is a career focus class so it falls into the business department. Since my certification is in History and Business...there I am...
Apparently my gall bladder is fine, which is good because that means I can keep it and no one has to go in and play with it. The down side is that means we've officially eliminated all of the doctor's options for what is wrong with me.
Brian doesn't mention "you" I think he thinks as if he doesn't mention Nervousness it will slowly slip away. He did say "Your Nervous Friends are at it again." when the wonderful JosieGellar sent me a surprise monkey in the mail.
Miss you...

Dr. H is my professor at the Garden Campus now, thats right, classes are being held outdoors under the ruins soon to be a turned into a potted shed, makeshift lean-to shackhouse. Oh, the college of my dreams! Thanks, hurricanes! So now that I have been a good go-fer she gives me a writing assignment., I am to write about Jazz and make it interesting so that even a complicated scientist (Total Nerd) whose brain is so far removed from music, can comprehend JAZZ!
I cannot find the Sarah Parker/ Dizzy Gillespie CD! Did it fall out of my car? Knapsack etc......Where oh where can it be????? Is it hiding under the bed and if so which one. Last week I searched frantically to no avail. Now I have accepted assignation and resigned myself to the fact that this is more proof of my fragmented life...pieces just don't fit when they should. This is compounded by the fact that one of the best jazz radio stations I can no longer pick up on my reciever and has been thrown over and blasted out of the airwaves by some Clear Channel radio station that features talk shows in Mexican.
A real rabbit just ran across the back yard. I just mowed it back there yesterday, maybe I should try to grow some carrots for him. It's exquisite back there now, birds are hanging out around the birdbath and I love this view while I'm working on the computer in the morning....Oh yeah, Hi Larissa! Time to make some tea and waffles...then back to the jazz project. B)

 Perscription For Getting Out Of the House (Larrissa)
1. Get dressed so you don't scare the neighbors or get arrested.
2. Put on some sturdy shoes, the world out there is no longer kind to barefeet.
3. Open the door, (if you have one, some people have had to go out the window or though the roof, up the chimney, etc to get out, due to strange remodelings of the three hurricanes) and take your keys with you if your coming back or going to drive. Sometimes I don't bother with the keys, because secretly I don't want to come back and driving is such a hassle too! Walking is so good for you.
It's a beauty of an autumn day.....I'd like to go to South Africa in March, just so I could prolong the state of Autumn.
Meanwhile, back to the Jazz Project
1. I have March 1995 exclusive CD from Jazziz Mag, almost 10 years ago. 10 cuts,
starting with Louis Armstrong and St. Louis Blues.
2 I would rather be writing about the Blues than Jazz so I figure thats a good start.
3. This is going to make me homesick for New Orleans. :'(

2.Went for a swim...I must have water on the body to combat the water on my brain. It was a cold purge.

As bad as it is, I love that movie, too. Dan Ackroyd is awesome as the judge.
I love that one split second shot, sitting at the dinner table, eating those gigantic weiners, when his nose looks like a penis.
It just cracks me up, too!

Now I want to see that movie.
I've always wondered why that movie never got a cult following like rocky horror.
**bonus. That movie is why I can't stomach hot dogs or any linked meat.

Considering where you live, Veronica, I'm not surprised.
Red Sox won, 5-4 in the 12th inning, after a five-hour game!
But the Yankees didn't have as much at stake, because they're ahead 3 games to 1 in this ALCS series (I still want to say pennant race).

1. I got the concert tickets for Oct. 30th but as I pulled up to the ticket place I started thinking about the social injustice of the whole situation. It's because I'm going with V. and not J. And it would be the type of thing I'd want to do with J. but he's stuck working that night....so, it's gonna be me and V. and damn it all, why didn't I just keep my mouth shut and go stag! At least maybe I'd have a chance meeting with someone new....like last time :o

3. I saw a funny bumpersticker, it had a logo of the state of Florida and "Electile Dysfunction" printed below it....yeah, that about says it all. This is what you get when you have a creep for a governor and his brother is the president.

1. I just checked my bookshelf (oh, my REAL COBWEBS! How very timely for Halloweenie :D ) and now I'm hunting around for my tape so I can get this book about hurricanes sent off to Pam in Wisconsin. She'll probably think twice about coming down here after she reads it, but shucks, look at me, I'm still alive after all three of them passed by my house.
2. I got the egg off of the sewing machine....hmmm...Yuck! (Don't ask how?) now I'm going to check it out, no telling what's hiding below the throat plate. (Courage, I need Courage
3. I kind of miss all the candles and the kerosene lamplight, those seven days without electric were like living in the movie "Cold Mountain" The only keyboard I had to play was my piano....and I loved it.
DOA - Is your Halloween going to be about Hot Dogs and Bob Saget etc??? Get some rubber gloves, just a suggestion beause I hate icky dishwater too!

I just lit the furnace for the winter.
I don't like the cold of this time of year. Something about it gets to me.
Partly, I think, it's the contrast with the heat of just a week or so ago, and partly it's the indication that winter's coming. Not that I dislike winter much, but it's indicated by the dreariest of its aspects right at its beginning, in these parts.

1. Oh wow! The light works on the Aqua/Turquoise Singer and this Machine has the distinction of actually being MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN! GOD SAVE THE QUEEN! Tis a machine truely fit for a Queen. It's clean under the throat plate and there's even a bobbin full of white thread in there, well lo and behold! :D
2. Three things I'm Missing Tonight: The Parker, Vaughn Jazz CD, Tape, and the manual for this machine...don't ya hate it when you are in a state of CFS! Damn!
3. I need water and then I'll try to thread it anyway...or just give up and go to sleep.

I realized today that I usually don't post three RANDOM facts in this thread, but three RELATED facts.
The Red Sox stayed alive tonight, winning in the 14th inning. (What is it with these super-long games?)
I received a traveling (travelling?) LMAO Friday: the ADQ doll.

Monday I received the red flannel bags for the Mojo Bag LMAO.
We ate supper out, and I brought home tapioca pudding for dessert, because it came with the meal; I think I'll have it for breakfast.
My niece is finally looking for her own place to stay, after being with us for almost 3 months.

I thought I wanted to do early voting, which started today (Monday), but they had glitches and long lines, so I'm reconsidering; I still might vote by absentee ballot.
I got mad today because CNN was carrying Bush's campaign speech in PA live, but then later they also ran Kerry's speech in Tampa live.
Whoops, that's two RELATED facts again!
