I spelt it touque.
Which is right? I can't remember.
And I'm not mysterious..... unless someone has some sort of unexplained canadian post-marked mail, in which case. I could be mysterious.

das' a crazy looken munky.
My boyfriend called in sick today just to hang out with me, who didn't have to go to work. He's still asleep.
I too wiggle my foot when I'm ready for bed. it's more of a slow wobble, however- my feet are always cold and they need to be warm for me to sleep.

My feet are always cold too. Well actually, my whole body is cold a good portion of the time. I get cold so easily and it is hard to warm up.
I have to go to work tommorow. Despite feeling like absolute crap right now, I DO miss being there in a way.
Probably because I like the human contact with those guys...as opposed to laying here completely alone.

oh well, it's funny and I'm hungry
so theres this guy in my art class that I sit with. Anyway, he will write a book from prison in 15 years writting a book on how he killed a 100 people. ANd he was talking about shooting up the school and stuff. He's really weird, but he's smart and school is boring, and he's name is Winston. He's pretty nice though

I'm feeling so sad for some reason...like right on the verge of crying, but not actually there yet. Just...so...sad.
It almost feels like the kind of sadness that accompanies a loss...or old memories of something you miss.
I keep trying to get my mind on something else...anything else that might make me happier. But I can't...I just feel alone and sad.

Hey lilac
Gwen is really sick. She has bronchitis and fever. She will have to stay home from school tomorrow and maybe Friday.
Today in the doctors office I thought I was going to lose it. Gwen was crying and they thought she was having a reaction to a shot. They came running in with an oxygen tank. She was ok, just feeling like shit.
This happened after I went to pick her up at school and thought that a house fire near the school was really the school on fire!
Too many heart attacks in one day is not a good thing. Hoping that tomorrow is much much better. :crossed:
Lilac

Awww, Hammerquill...those pictures are gorgeous, and at the same time express a kind of lonliness and yearning that I'm sure you're feeling right now. I hope you and Eve can be together again very soon.
Me, I'm working from home today, thankfully. It's 6:30 am...I've already been out to the barn and put the horses out. It's definately autumn here in Western PA. It's chilly, damp and there is a thin fog covering the pasture. I could see the horses' breath , and my own, for that matter.
My son will get to sleep in till 7:30 this morning because I don't have to rush off to work, which is nice.
Anyhow, I'm going to go and try to get this report written up and maybe have some free time for myself this afternoon while he's still in school,

I was going to wave to Robyn on my flight, but on my flight out I was too far South, and on my return too far North.
Both times I was too far East to wave to Curlita or to siafu, and too far West to wave to FearfulPenguin - where's she got to, I wonder?
I had a very smooth flight; I did knotwork, and even inked it. My new avatar was made over northern Saskatchewan and Alberta. I made a bigger piece of round knotwork, too, which took me from Edmonton to something like the Napa Valley.

I thought that I could maybe move in to the new place today. No such luck. Tomorrow is it. October 1st 2204 MOVING MOVING MOVING!!!!
I be so happy.
JAIME go look at that monkey tattoo I posted a few pages back... you'll be so happily jealous. (jaime understands my joy, she too was kinda living a hobo life and now it's over weeeeeee!!!! - I wanna be seeing you in spring!)
Ze cats are not so happy. They are being kept inside today, there is no way I am going to be rounding them up from the great outdoors first thing tomorrow morning then shoving them in to carriers and drugging them. 1/4 tab of gravol on hour beofre departure each is supposed to be enough to make them sleep for the ride (i hope i hope i hope!!!) Which means I need ONE GRAVOL pill - my mother hasn't picked this up for me, I don't think she understands the consquences of fully alert cats on a 2 1/2 hour car ride.

She goes to the "grocery store" several times a night and takes forever, come back stinking like cigarettes, I swear she must smoke like 7 smokes at a time SMOKE ON THE PORCH LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!!!! NO ONE CARES!!!!

harrison's first therapy since his tx, with his regular therapist anyhow.... she's rather impressed... :D
the social worker at the rehab centre came by to say 'hi' and spread the word that we were there- so everyone had to pop by and see harrison... :P
his dietician had a lot of info for me.... :( the cases of his formula are even more than i heard they were- he'll need about 6-7 cases a month, and each case costs ..
.. get ready ..
.. $137.50!!!!!!!!!
at a grand total of 800+ a month- almost $1000!!!!!!
needless to say, i will be keeping on with the homemade formula........ even though she doesnt' 'approve' of homemade formula.... <sigh> even if we qualify for a co-pay (which i didn't know they could do with this, but luckily they can...) we still ahve to pay $100...........
she suggested that we 'try' the other formula again to see if he 'really' has a milk allergy, or if it was just a protein processing problem, due to his body and post tx health.... well, he had a can of the other stuff ($30 a case... ) for his 1 pm feed... and 3/4 of the way through, he started to scratch his head... i turned him off immediately, and gave him a dose of reactine syrup... but it was too late.... :( he broke out full force in hives and threw up basically all the feed... he is just NOW settling down.......... good to knwo i guess.........
that was more htan 3 facts.. and they weren't very random...... <_<

nah, we dont' need help with the formula.... i REFUSE to pay that much per month for something he wont' even TASTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIKES!!! there is no way i will spend that kind of money on his formula when i can improvise and mke it...
his dietician doesn't like people making it because of chance of bacterial growth... i told her i made ALL my baby food with julian and you just have ot use common sense and make sure things are at lest CLEAN if not sterile..... duh.... there's no way i'll pay for that stuff like that!!!!
so if i make it all, IF he's on a night feed (well, he still is several times a week... i still have to get a good schedule for fees going..) THEN i use the formula- i dont' want 'food' hanging in a pump set all night, becuse then there IS a chance of food poisoning.... so i use the formula over night....
yup... can you believe the price??? i am STILL shaking my head......

I am very sad for ebandits family.
I have become the type of mom I didn't want to be...I put my old little TV and our VCR in Megans room so she can watch a movie till she falls asleep.
We have done some creative accounting to cover our health insurance checks...he wrote a check from his business account for $550.00 to put in the household account and then charged 2 of our credit cards for $250 each on his machine at the shop which will be deposited into his business account. Cheaper than a cash advance and not illegal as far as I know ;)

One of my best friends did something of the sort once... Drew a money advance from her (bank-issued) Visa card into her bank account so she could pay... wait for it... her Visa bill.
Said friend has a high rent to pay - first floor of a house, plus basement - a car to pay for, student loans she's determined to have paid off by the age of 30, and a few other home-related debts.
She says she envies me my freedom from most of that and my living abroad... But she's an engineer with a good salary, and I have no degree and no job. For now. It's all about choices and opportunities...
My, aren't we philosophical tonight. ;)

Sometime soon I have to check out The Punisher (now that it's on DVD) to see our wallpiece.
We're told it's used twice - hanging in John Travolta's office, and rearranged (it's four separate sections) somewhere else.
That's about the only thing that could get me to watch the movie, but I'm still looking forward to it.

School districts are tearing down a lot of those old schools now, because it's more cost-efficient to destroy the building than to pay for maintenance.

My parents' grafted dwarf apple tree is in its crazed everything-ripening-at-once period.
Hence, there is apple pie.
They're not really the right apples for apple pie, but there are way too many falling off the tree just to eat.

Having no money and very little food in the house is going to put quite the damper on any festivities. (see the Today thread for confirmation)
I guess I could make; A casserole of Cheerios, Top Ramen, Rice-a-Roni, scalloped potatoes, shredded Mexican cheese, andouille sausage and meatballs. A Diet Coke, Baileys and Champagne Cocktail with sugar free popcicles, and fat free generic coolwhip surprise for desert. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_2_5.gif

Have you told her that? All of it? I always wonder if there's any way to make such people take notice and actually listen and converse. Most of the time it's simply not worth the effort, but if it's someone you care about and who cares about you, it might be worth a try.
I'm very glad that my religious relatives and few friends are not loonies like that.

I Yahooed Scarlet Fever because I couldn't remember what exactly it was:
Scarlet fever was once a very serious childhood disease, but now is easily treatable. The incubation period is short, generally 1-2 days. Illness typically begins with a fever and sore throat. It may be accompanied by chills, vomiting, abdominal pain, and malaise.
The streptococcal bacteria produces a toxin that causes a rash that appears one to two days after the onset of illness. The rash usually first appears on the neck and chest, then spreads over the body. It is described as "sandpapery" in quality. The texture of the rash is more important than the appearance in confirming the diagnosis. The rash can last for over a week. As the rash fades, peeling (desquamation) may occur around the finger tips, toes, and groin area.
I read this As the rash fades, peeling (desquamation) may occur around the finger tips, toes, and groin area and thought OH NO poor Erica! :o
My hubby had $25.00 left from some gas $ a buddy gave him for doing a favor so we bought steaks, potatos, salad and had a nice dinner for our anniversary.

Awww... :yay:
After seemingly returning to a normal schedule (for me) yesterday, today I woke up early again.
I actually had breakfast. :o And I've just finished my workout. Before coffee. :o :o
It's really strange, this "morning" thing.

I am at work trying to avoid actually working and you people are not posting fast enough to keep me entertained.
I went to the thrift store this morning and picked up a few interesting items to naked mail.
This afternoon I have to shop for clothes. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUGH! The only things I really like to shop for are food and yarn.

Oh gwensmom, I hear you on the clothes shopping. Bleck. Yarn shopping is grand, as is book and music shopping. Clothes are evil. Which reminds me I must take back some purchases today.
Work in an hour and a half. Where the hell did my morning go??
The cats had a party last night while we were asleep. They dragged my yarn up and down the stairs, finished the leftover pizza, and played with the hubby's medical supplies. Medical gauze *everywhere*!!! grr.

It's me. I'm actually able to function for more than a few seconds at a time today...so here I am.
Thanks for the get well wishes! Luckily, in adults, scarlet fever does not always produce much of a rash...if one at all. So I just have a small patch on my stomach. Other than that, I'm just running high fevers, throwing up, lost ALL energy, and the other crummy things that go along with it.
One of my co-worker's little girls had it...maybe he carried it into the shop. With my low immune system, I pick things up so easily.

Oh, I'm so glad to see Skilyne is feeling well enough to post!
And glad that she won't be suffering desquamation!!!
Get more rest and get better, Erica!

Lilac I am dying of curiosity and you must tell me how to corn someones house.
I just volunteered to make brownies for 30 8th and 9th graders. What was I thinking???? Oh well, at least I have a brownie mix coupon.

Haha: corning a house
GwensMom, you need dried corn, the stuff they feed livestock.
Good memories :D

But what do you do with the corn?
Helquin

rub the kernels off the ears -- they come right off
throw the kernels at houses, cars, etc.
works better against glass and/or metal (like a car roof or a utility shed): makes a big [harmless] clatter and scares people :D
oh, supposedly a potential cause of automobile accident if driver sufficiently shaken by the surprise <_< party poopers

You just throw it at someone's house. That's it. Lots and lots of it, if you have it. I don't know what the point of it is...but that's what the kids around here have been doing for generations, probably!
Silly stuff.
Obviously Helquin knows about "corning!"
