So, yeah...I tore off the sideview mirror on my Stepfather's new car while at Myrtle Beach. He INSISTED that I drive his car instead of mine...I guess it was inevitable that something bad would happen. However, HE didnt go down and I had the mirror fixed before I came home, so he's none the wiser.

Some of my family members are much more bizzare than I figured they would be. I found this out this past week.

And I'm sure I'm much more bizzare than a lot of them figured I would be.

Well, there's a definate differnce between your southern accent and most of the south Carolina accents I heard. They speak so fast, but yet with that southern drawl that I sometimes couldnt understand them.

Your accent is much nicer. You sound like Scarlett O'Hara!

A refined southern accent, if you will.

gwensmom
09-12-2004, 09:06 PM
I don't think I sound like Scarlett.

But I do tell myself that "tomorrah is anothah day" quite often.

I am so sick and tired of worrying about money. But I am going to drop a bundle at the post office tomorrow anyway.

I'm embroiled in a counterfeiting problem...not my fault, but I'm involved. This sucks.

It was just a $20 I got from the bank, but the person I paid with it was almost arrested when the person he paid with it claimed it was counterfeit. Now the interesting thing is...it has disappeared. I think it is a scam on the 3rd party's part...slimey bastard.

~ I think you should go for it Kamoke! Katimavik looks like a great opportunity, and you did say this was the last year you would be eligible for it, right? So..... if you pass it up you might regret it, where as if you go through with it and decide it's not for you, then you could always back out later on.

~ I think I'm an obsessive advice giver, even if people don't want my advice, I give it. Though, I don't know much about anything, so I'm probably not the best giver of advice on any front. :P

~ On no Skilyne! That's not good :( Won't the bank that you got the money from help out in any way??

Well, the bank is being super cool about it...and they are trying to help me figure it all out. Their feeling...and mine as well...is that the business that ended up with this $20 is trying to scam the bank...because they claim to have counterfeit money, but seem unable to produce it.

I'm not liable...and neither is the poor guy I paid the money to. It is the business HE paid that seems to be the problem.

It's all very shifty on their part, but at least the bank is being so kind and helpful.

LOL...if push comes to shove...I'll counterfeit! Seems there are some people in the area who have an operation going. :P ***Disclaimer for any spying feds*** (I wouldn't ever do that)

I bought a lovely sock monkey for $1.50 the other day...now I have 2 and they are so cute.

I want to try to make my own, but I can assure you that it would end up looking like a sad mutation of what may have once been a monkey.

Maybe a mutated sock monkey wouldn't be so bad.

I've got to go pick up my sister soon...she just called and wants a ride home from somewhere. Now I have to pull out my map and figure out where Persimmon Lane is.

I woke up early today, so I went to work right then...got there at 7:03am.

Sure. That's near the low end of the rent scale, but Montréal rents are cheap for the city's size.

Are Wonky and Cryptaesia in Montréal, then? I thought they lived south-west of Toronto... (514 is the Montréal area code, that much is permanently burned into my brain... ;) )

That darn little girl with the extremely piercing voice is calling her father again... at 11:30!!! She should be asleep!!! And she does this almost every day!!! From the tone, this seems to be a game, too... Spoiled brat... <_<

I should maybe explain that this little girl's voice - calling her father just like that - is what wakes me up some mornings, and it's extremely annoying.

I haven't watched TV in ages, either. Don't have one. Don't want one. Thank you.

I should get off the computer now. Now. Right...now...dammit!

today, 6:30 AM: larrissa wakes up too early and cant get back to sleep. worse she has her time confused again and thinks she works at 8 rather than nine

same thing happened yesterday whwen she thought it was a shift beginning at 5 and not 4

i was late but im favored so its okay. though if these keeps occurring, this strange unfounded confusion, that wont be okay

i dont like getting off work and then having to be there again in nine hours. i mean how the hell am i supposed to live when i dont get to art for a ferw hours before bed? HOW?

we have a waffle maker somewhere. and when iget to it to make waffles, im posting pictures. maybe i will make a postcard with em for dunglas.

i was at work last night and thought about all that silliness which is going on and its painful to supress laughter. really it is. making a sandwich trying to not laugh myself silly.

blah blah blah

i woke up with the thoughts that were painful regarding that. and that other then came in and i felt better. la la la

ive been starting books and then not finishing them for the last few months

im realizing when i was a hermit i didnt have to live what some call a "real" life and all i did was read and chill and art and sometimes cry and it was really really sucky but also beautiful in its lack of any responsiblity. im feeling a bit frazzled by having this "real" life to live. and some nights i dont have the time or energy to sit around for four hours by myself with the pipe and music and art supplies. and damn it i need to have that nearly every day. tonight im drinking a too large glass of iced espresso so i can stay up long enough to wake up late enough to be able to stay up and working until midnight tomorrow.

thats alot of typing, excuse me.

oh i will quit one day. but not now. besides, wehn i move there will be no one to get it from and i should really call sara to see if shes alright

mister stinky might be in a 531 area code, but im feeling too uncomfortable to ask if he called

The newfoundland accent is so silly.. it's just like someone was sitting around one day and says " I've got an idea, lets take the letter H and add it to random words.. and then we can take it away from others." It's so random
Ex: House becomes 'ouse! (exclamation point is needed)
·Three becomes Tree! (again, it's needed)
·Oh becomes Hoh!
and so on.. but I really enjoy it

I figure I'll watch the races

and eat

maybe

I was in a bad mood this morning because Gwen made a huge dirty diaper in the car on the way to school and someone had raided my emergency diaper supply. I had to clean it all up with one baby wipe.

Today I went to a meeting where our new Superintendant of Schools was the speaker. At lunch afterward she came and sat down right next to me! I bragged on Gwen's school and she told me that her son was severely learning disabled. So I am excited that we have a superintendant who has first hand experience with special needs kids!

This poor woman is having a rough time. An 8th grade boy was found dead in a school bathroom after a fight yesterday. Also, she is really competant and has to put up with our bozo mayor and idiot school board.

I'm here! I'm here! Sorry I have been so out of the loop lately. It's nice to have been missed. I generally post from work, but work has been insane as I try to get everything pulled together before I go on leave.

Every night we have been going to childbirth class or having a doula meeting or socializing with friends or going on a date night. And the time that I do have free, I've been either getting ready for the baby or trying to rest and take care of myself.

This has probably gone on well beyond three facts... but I'm still around, and still pregnant!

Put-in-Bay is a strange name for an island. It's "proper" name is south Bass island, but nobody ever calls it that. It's just Put-in-Bay.

I'm still not in the mood to go...it seems like more of a bother than it's worth to pack up, drive, ferry out to the island...blah, blah...
