I went to the hospital because my hand was chewed by a fence. Apparently I've had a tetnis shot

I played board games with the girls tonight, it was great fun!

I started what I hoped would be a frank conversation with a friend of mine via e-mail and now it has turned all ooky.

I don't want to go to work tomorrow. I don't have any energy left for work with all the drama at home.

Mr. Orkin Man sez that the goo he squirted around will make the ants even more active for the next 7 days, which means that we can't put our house on the market until a week from when we'd planned to... since a buncha ants wouldn't make the best impression... I'm very nervous that our house won't sell quickly.
when we bought this house and sold our old house, we too were concerned we wouldn't sell it fast enough. It sold 4 days after we put it on the market. We had* to live in a hotel for two months while waiting for this one to finish being built.

*"had" is a bit extreme, we chose not to stay with friends or family....

LOL, same thing happened when we put the house in Milwaukee up for sale. We worried about getting it sold, paid our realtor extra to MOVE on it... yada yada. Two offers the first week, and I was on the train back to Washington (8 months pregnant, no flying) and two other kidlets running amuck when hubby called and gave me the news. He was still packing up the last of the house!

Okay, Ginger and Rustell, please focus on sending me your good house-selling karma!!

One month from today we close on the new house. At least I know we will be moved in there before I hit the 8-month mark.

I find that work gets in the way of my life these days. I wish I didn't have to go there.

Ah, listeria hysteria. Under normal circumstances I would be about as worried about it as I am about salmonella (read: not in the slightest).

Even though the risk is slim for listeria, if you do get it while pregnant it can be very bad (like, fatal) for the fetus. Which is why I'll probably buy pasteurized.

Maybe I will go buy some brie right now, while I am thinking about it, and those junior mints...

We had a wild storm here last night as well. It included some of that what-the-hell-was-that thunder. I enjoy listening to the storms, but not when they come in the 6 hours I had allotted for sleeping.

Know what makes a person feel like an idiot? When they are at a light, see a green sedan behind them and see odd lights, and then they say to themself, "hey that's one of those sneaky cop cars" Then the light turns green and they go, moments later lights start flashing , they look down at that dial on the other side of the steering wheel and say to themself, "ohmigod, i was speeding when i KNEW there was a cop behind me." D**M speeding tickets.

So, I don't make new year's resolutions, but I do set little goals (don't ask me how it is different) -- one of them was to "run out of Thank you cards" this year. I have a box of cards, so I'll always have one ready for any occassion, yes, I am the old lady on the hallmark commercial, and basically the goal was to show my thankfulness more. Unfortunately, instead, as of today, I have run out of sympathy cards. This is not a happy thing.

then i went to the post office and mailed off a couple of nervous things. then i went to the three dollar store. i got a broken in blue tshirt that says 'chill' on the front in white letters and a blue dress with flowers all over it. sometimes pants seem too hot. B)

i also studied a lot because you know....with the small bus there is a lot of waiting around. and i called gordon smith's office and found out that he voted for the federal marriage amendment. i should call wyden's and see if he voted against it like he said he would. <_<

A ninja landlord, eh? Must make life interesting.

I've got milk (though I didn't have any last night when I wanted some). But I don't have eggs, sugar, much brown sugar, much honey, almost any vegetables, almost any fruit, or enough olive oil to make it through the week.

Something tells me I should go grocery shopping.

I try to do that a lot. I am sort of trapped behind my desk, so it is hard to put my feet up very high. I need to go lay down on the floor in the living room and prop them up on the sofa for a while. I've been drinking lots of water, too.

2. I have to return 3 month overdue library books (which kills me because I never abuse my library privilages. Originally, I had asked Nick to return them and we kinda had a little fight and then I just forgot they were in my car. The librarians are going to hate me, and I'm going to have to pay way too many fines. I am such a dummy.... I dread going in there.

3. I should bother my boss and ask where I am at hourly this pay period, as we get paid next week, I did work OT and knowing how many hours I worked would let me figure out how much money I have to spend on said fines.

Today wasn't exactly hot, but muggy with humidity. And I have no shower. A cool shower would've been nice. I agree, Theresa - water is the best remedy for being too warm.

Our library is very kind about letting us wait to pay fines, or letting us pay partial fines.

I have stopped feeling guilty about the fines, and now just feel like I'm supporting the library.

Burritos lead to chocolate... In fact most of life's roads really lead to chocolate!

Protesters are a pain in my butt; and they don't realize (or admit) that 90% of our work is not related to abortion. That's why I love doing community education - I love telling people about all of our programs for underinsured men and women, our prenatal programs, our HIV/STD initiatives, and on, and on... You're right Curlita, we do rock!

I don't think I could survive in the jungle - where I live now seems like one big, uncomfortable swamp to me in the summer!

We finally found a special needs bed for Gwen on the internet :yay: Now we have to convince our insurance company that they need to pay for it.

I took Gwen to school and came home and went to bed. I didn't set my alarm right and woke up at one minute after school gets out! Fortuately we live 5 minutes away and I was only 8 minutes late.

as much as I want IT to be them, I know it is me, myself and I who allow the triangle to exist

nothing exists without tacit permission from everyone involved...

because if I leave, it won't be a triangle anymore...

does this logic comfort me at all?

heck no.

i'm not doing better though... yesterday was hell, it was too hot and julian locked the keys in the van with my wallet and the diaper bag... i was soooo angry at him becuse i told him not just once, but TWICE to NOT close the door.... the whole day was a runaround.... :(

chris put harrison at 95 mls/hour on his overnight feed (he's supposed to be at 54) and he started to throw up at 3 and has just settled down in the past half hour....

meanwhile, after stalking around and 'helping' me (ha ha) and then throwing himself on the couch in a testosterone hissy fit and feeling sorry for himself, he defended his behavior by telling me 'it's not MY fault, YOU didn't notice it either!!!'

pardon me, but fuck you and if you think i need to walk behind you and double check everything after you do it then stand back and dont' bother to help me anymore... what little help i get isn't worth the shit i go through when he screws up....

but that took the cake- saying 'it's not my fault'... uh, WHO turned him on at 95?? wasn't me... and when i ask him 'did you turn him on' or 'did you put him at 95/54 (depending on time) he gets defensive and says 'YEAH' all dripping with snottiness.....

and he's sound asleep and has been since 3:30... like usual... he screws up, harrison pays the price, and *I* deal with the consequences...... every time, typical, typical....

and tomorrow he'll be all normal, pretending like nothing happened and won't understnd why i am pissy with him.... welcome to the circle of (my) life....

sorry for being whiny.... :(

and did imention that he forgot my pitas??? he only stopped at the mall befor ehe went to geoff's house to play his stupid fu#%ing game, and then to walmart AND superstore after, and yet forgot....

and he called me three times today during hte day -'is ther anything you need or want me to bring home'??? just pitas for my guacamole, thanks....

he did, however, remember to get himself some gingerale, dr. pepper and rootbeer....

did i mention how annoyed i am right now??? first of all that i didn't get my pitas, but hey, he'll have drinks to last a month... second of all him screwing up AGAIN with harrison.... i know people aren't perfect, and make mistakes... but the SAME MISTAKES over and over?? and then to take it out on me... i admit i wasn't in a good mood, cleaning up projectile vomit, and trying to suction harrison's nose, from puking formula through it, but *I* at least had a reason for being grumpy.... and ti wasn't in defense of my own stupidity...

i haven't screwed up with harrisons\ feeds in over a year, and the couple of mistakes i made, i LEARNED from.........

but that he takes his anger at his own stupidity out on me, really takes the cake....

and then rolls over and falls back asleep

i may have mentioned that already.....

i think single motherhood is sounding better every day.... though what the hell would i do with 3 kids, one special needs, and who knows about the third?????

okay.

I mean... If he didn't want to wait, and take an extra day to allow for the drying (the bathroom doesn't have adequate ventilation, so it's slower than anticipated), they could've dropped off the materials and I'd have done the work myself. With proper drying times. <_<

Not that I HAD to lay around, I quit my job at the end of 2002 to get ready for the baby and had really nothing else to do :)

My best friend had 'cankles' for the majority of her pregnancy because she had so much edema. She was put on Modified bed rest because of it.

I got my car back. I wish I knew how to fix things so I didn't have to pay someone else to do it.

My car's name is Alfred, or Al for short. He is my friend, and I feel bad for him having his wiring exposed. It's not dignified.

I need to get a little radio to leave in the glovebox and a whole whack of batteries. It's no CD player, but it'll keep me sane for the ten hour drive home (in three and a half weeks!).

Happy Birthday, Frizball! Have some cake: http://www.obsidiancat.com/smile/cake2.gif

I had to go a week without my car a few months ago; I really missed it!

Our clinic has reallllllyyyy messed up this weeks accounting...

My ROUS' are up early today and are playing tag in the attic...WHY AREN'T THEY DEAD YET???
Have you explained ROUS here, or do you assume we have all seen Princess Bride?

Coincidentally, I told B to have fun storming the castle when he left for work.

It's all so inconceivable....

No I haven't, I figured if no one knew they would ask.

My dad used to tell everyone to have fun storming the castle when they left on short errands.

My aunt who has a great sense of humor told him when they got back from the grocery store "We pilliaged some beer, but the Armenians got the goats head!"
(the store by my mom sells whole goat heads)

It's interesting to go to grocery stores in different areas of L.A.

The store I shopped at when I lived in Hollywood had esspresso, salad, olive, pate and make your own pizza bars, you could buy wheat grass and had a huge ethnic foods section.

My store I shop at now sells 40# bags of carrots for your horse where the same chain store 10 miles east in a more affluent neighborhood has a wine department with a wine steward.

As expected, the PR department did not have the whole first draft of my newsletter finished on time and not one of them was at the office today to discuss revisions to the part that was finished.

I knew I should have done it myself, but theirs looks much better than mine.

Gwensdad brought home a delicious dinner from a great Italian take out last night. He even got a bottle of wine, which was the wrong kind for the food but we will overlook that. We lit candles and ate on our new table.

I had a HORRID day today.

Listening to me talk, I am concerned that you might all get the idea that I am always some crying mess who hates her job, has perpetual bad days, and is an all around whiner. I'm really not...life has just been tough lately.

I am hoping that Nymphette, Larrissa, and anyone else who might be having a tough time is doing better! Thinking of you all...

Despite my horrid day, I am still trying to hold out hope that it will improve.

I wonder what Cuilanie's monkeys are going to look like. I love knitted monkeys!

I am hungry, but lazy.

So I am not getting up yet to feed myself.

how romantic!!! candles, wine and everything!!! and all at the spiffy new table too!!! :D

then my first thought would be 'what does chris want from me???' if he happened to have any imagination and foresight to do something like that.... <_<

<sigh> i am not a romantic at heart, but.... sometimes a girl likes to know she is appreciated.....

i've never seen a knitted monkey... but i think i will eventually!!!

the "A" on our keyboard has been wrecked for about two years now... i try to catch most of my missing 'a' typos, but sometimes, i just say screw it! and hope it's somewhat understandable....

i actually AM a good typist, not that you could tell by my posts.... i used to type about 80 WPM, and with capital letters and proper punctuation!!! ;) now it's about 50 if i do it right.... still about 80 when i type like this though....

i am not sure how i got addicted to all the periods and exclamation marks, etc, that i tend to put at the end of my sentences...

skilyne- if you're hungry, i have some eggrolls here you can have... they aren't bad for frozen convenience food...

however, they have given me a severe craving for chinese pork dumplings... :'( so i guess it serves me right for being lazy and throwing them in the oven instead of cooking REAL lunch!!!

my sister has next week off so i get to go to edmonton without julian!!! he is close to unmanageable when my mother is around, not to mention when we are staying t a 'new' place (like ronald mcdonald house, or the outpatient resident dorms we will be at this time)... i was fearing for both of our lives/sanity by the end of the trip!!! we leave monday morning and will be back (hopefully) on thursday, but may be there till friday.... i'll try to update to let all y'all know how harrison's doing, and what they are doing to my poor boy.... if they need to do a chest xray though, i am outta there!!! i cried so badly when he had it done in toronto.. i had to squish him in this plexiglass tube with his arms up over his head and he kept looking at me with this 'why mommy' look and just crying and crying...... :'(

nymphette

i see you indigo!!!

julian decided his toad needed more water in his tank and while i npped for fifteen minutes, he made a trail fromt he bthroom to the back porch and fille dit about 3 inches deep... <_<

anyone know how much a 10-year old's fist sized toad should be eating in a day??? it gets moths and flies and mosquitoes as julian and i catch them in the house, and chris gets it a big dinner from the shed when he gets home... but i dont' know how much this big fat sucker should be getting!!!
