~ I hope Curlita's good news remains good. :)

~ I spent most of my day, so far, getting rid of spyware on my work computer.

~ I still haven't called the financial aid office. Must do that. I have been saying that for a long time.

~ Ok, I did it. I called the financial aid office. I got their voice mail though. Hopefully they will call me back today.

~ I keep forgetting this weekend is the 4th of July. I have to go to a family gathering/party at my uncle's house this weekend. Almost all of my relative's on my dad's side of the family will be there. I barely ever see them so I feel awkward around them.

~ I must send out some Naked Mail soon.

I am sort of missing work. This is mainly because I am fairly nebby and I want to know what is going on there today, and what they are saying about me. (I'm not paranoid, I just know "my boys")

I am glad that Gwen is feeling better!

I am sorry that Theresa had a problem with some nasty guys. I'll join Curlita (the other Erica!) and we will go kick their collective ass.

I'm working from home again today, mainly because my son woke up with a fever of 102.6 and I wanted to keep an eye on him. My company is pretty good with stuff like this, except, of course, if I was expected to be on site.

I drove down to the local grocery store to buy him pedialite, popsicles and jello. I forgot my purse in the grocery cart and was embarrassed to go back to the store to pick it up because I had a pair of underpants inside. I had to go, though, because I had credit cards, drivers liscense, etc...that needed to be recovered. When I got there, the smarmy, greasy, sleazy-looking store manager handed the purse over to me with a disgustingly self satisfied rude smirk on his face.

I'm NEVER going back there. Never, ever, ever , ever! :'(

aw poor lilac. that happened to me once. only, my mom had given my dad a new purse to give me when he saw me in florida. and we were eating dinner in a friday's or something like that. so, i figured i'd transfer contents of purses while I waited for my food. only i forgot i had a neon yellow thong in there. yikes. i forgot that i had brought it with me because i was going to spend the night at my best friend's house. (now i'm all married and housewifely and always wear only respectable underwear.) no choice but to keep talking to my poor pops.

i'm still waiting for the small bus. <_<

i'm too tired and bleary to do much else while i wait. i'm taking my mini outline with me, though. (it's only five inches thick)

I forgot my purse in the grocery cart and was embarrassed to go back to the store to pick it up because I had a pair of underpants inside. OH NO LILAC!!! But don't worry...I've been there too! I once took out my wallet and a pair of underwear dropped onto the counter.

I should really go do some art, but I am not sure I am feeling the inspiration.

I should also run to the store, but I don't feel like it.

06-30-2004, 12:53 PM
Yes, yes, Skilyne! We will form the Erica Posse, looming and glaring wherever people need a couple of Ericas to loom and glare!

I think Theresa should have casually taken the neon thong out of her purse and than pulled it over her head like a headband, talking to pops all the while. :)

A random fact: I use my teeth to carry things around when my hands are full (or only semi-full). I caught myself doing it today and wondered if I was a small woodland creature in another life.

muahahahah! My purse is too small to fit underwear in it, so this can't happen to me. <points finger, snickering> ;) :P

Seriously though, much sympathy, Lilac. I hate being ogled, smirked or commented at.

I'm checking how much time I have left on my internet account. Six hours until Sunday night???!! I'll never survive. :'(

Cuilanië
06-30-2004, 01:23 PM
Actually, make that less than six hours, because it doesn't count today's connection time. sigh. :(

I do all kinds of things when my hands are full, including using my feet to open doors, using my teeth, balancing stuff on my forearms... I got really good at it when I was a student. ^_^

Well, guess I'll just log off and save some internet time, shall I...? <slumps off>

I do that too! I also stick things in my hair (pencils, paintbrushes, needles) and sometimes forget about them.

I never knew so many people carried undies around in their purses.

Is it just me or are Larrissa's posts getting more cryptic? Maybe she doesn't want to have to edit them in the future.

Approximate Dimensions of my Purse (measured on the outside, so inside volume is slightly smaller): H: 4,5"; W: 6"; D: 2".

Inside there is space for: a 35mm film box that holds my cash; a folding sleeve for my bank and health cards, plus transaction slips; a tube of lip balm; a pocket mirror; my driver's license, my French resident's card, and some flat miscellany. Occasionally a pen fits in there also, or my keyring. There's also a slim little front pocket holding my bus & Métro pass, assorted business cards, and other small flat miscellany.

That's it. No room for anything else, and it's just about due for a decluttering. (That involves removing the miscellany... ;) )

(woolen panties? ICK. puh-leeze! )

That purse is my first and only one. It's about as big as I can stand to have. And the inside lining's falling to pieces.

Don't know what I'll do for a replacement. Considering duct-taping the inside together...

I found out a few days ago that there exist five-euro coins. I didn't know that, I thought the highest coin denomination was two euros. Certainly that's all one sees in circulation...

My cat is po'ed at me because I won't let her sit on me and knead my blouse with her pointy little claws. She needs a manicure.

I rely on my dog to let me know when the painters get here in the AM by running around saying "bwoof! bwoof!" I should clarify that we are not going to the pool not because my husband cannot decide about that, but because he cannot decide about something else. He could not make the decision today before going to a work meeting and wants to wait and talk about it tonight.

So instead of going to the pool and swimming and getting to paddle around so that my body will re-absorb all the excess fluid that is making my feet swell alarmingly, and getting to do some exercise that does not exacerbate my shinsplints, I will be sitting on the sofa trying to get him to make up his mind.

Inordinately pissed.

i was pleasently surprised that even though i had to suffer through being social and seeing people i knew, the fireworks display they had was most likely the best i had ever seen in my life.

i got all emotional and almost started crying thinking about how things used to be when i was younger, and who was still around then for me to enjoy things with. in fact, i did shed a tear for the person i miss the most.

I am exhausted and will go back to bed at 830...in forty minutes. The last two kids can damn well find their own way out. All I want to do is sleep for an uninterrupted two or three more hours.

I was woken up by two phone calls last night... one of which was the Boy. I love 'im, but I'm getting too tired to remember that sometimes.

On the other hand, random other person got a much happier "hello" than she deserved at midnight, because I thought she'd be the Boy.

Zanna, I do love you and consider you to have a lot of potential (and here I admit to some bias) but you're not there yet! If you try hard, try to be objective, and try to know the difference between reason and emotion, read good books and think about them but know that symbolism is for art and not real life, if you speak to intelligent people, and limit your time with dumb asses and silly TV shows; if you do these things-- all of them-- for 15 years or so, well maybe then, and you'll have beat me by several years!"

it seems it is the fault of something called a cache.

That's so cute...

I feel kinda old, today. It's my creaking joints' fault.

I should close the curtains. I have a thing about windows after dark, they creep me out... who knows who's lurking out there.

Open windows after dark don't bother me, it's just the room's reflection in the dark glass and not seeing what's outside. Still,.

i still haven't done this yet:

4 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup boiling water
1/4 cup orange juice (not concentrate) or 2 tablespoons lemon juice
3-3/4 cups cold water
1. In the bottom of a pitcher, dissolve the sugar and salt in the hot water.
2. Add the juice and the remaining water; chill.
Yield: 1 quart

i took one of those online iq tests, my result made me laugh....

"You're really just gifted, but people think you're a genius."

It cracked me up because I always feel like people think I am a lot smarter than I really am....

such as the friend who recently asked me to help her study for an exam in a field I have no experience in because she believed I could figure it out and then make it make sense to her...

granted, in that case, she was right, the process made my head hurt, but I was able to translate the mumbo-jumbo until reality...and now I know more about the subject than I ever wanted to know, and I remember some useless calculus I had forgotten....

Everyone say Hello to Trey!

Hoping she might want to become a member, too!

Hello, Trey! ^_^

- I should decide what to eat tonight...

- It's been a while since I used any kind of fact-list marker.

- Before he left for the weekend, I had my roommate trim the hair at the nape of my neck. This way I can avoid a haircut for another few months.

I'm trying to catch up on my cleaning...

I stopped to pay bills and balance my checkbook...

This morning Jonny and I sat down over coffee and made a list of all the things we need to do to get the house ready to go on the market.

I thought we'd been moving along pretty well, but the list was a lot longer than I anticipated.

i just got back from seeing him.

why can't i just be rational instead of being filled with all this emotion ..?

i think today did break me. i realized everything that was wrong with us and how i'd just been turning a blind eye.

i hate realizing stuff, well this kind of stuff at least ..

well see, its a secret.

no really, on the quizzes and questions forum page, with the list of this shiesta we love so much, if you click the number of replies, which is next to the number of views, a handy little spy list comes up.

use it to impress your friends.

:D

1 i'm really happy that the RAOKs i sent are starting to arrive (2 so far... make that 3)

2 heated environmental discussion at dinner with my father deliberately baiting me and me having had too much wine (not much, just enough to notice) to adequately argue my points

3 my mood is crap - i really hate PMS

1 i bought a new shirt today. halter style with thin stripes, earthy tones...

2 i really would like, even though i've eaten too much junk today already, to sit down with a tub (y'know, those little 500mL ones) of haagen daas chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and eat the whole thing

3 my mother really hates it when i eat ice cream straight from the tub (i only do this when i've bought myself a little tub, i do not do it with the large tubs she buys for everyone to share)

I hate pms (but who loves it?)

I hate being baited politically...

I hate that I won't be here tonight to chain myself into oblivion -- :D

Thanks siafu :)

PMS does suck....try lots of B complex...well, not all at once, but daily....once it kicks in (couple weeks), it does make a difference.....as long as you take it religiously. i was the queen of pms once upon a time, but i was very glad to relinquish my throne... :D

My headache, although not raging quite as bad, is still kicking like a mule.

My sister and I had a blast out on the horses today. We havent been able to ride without kids tagging along for...geez...probably years! We were goofy and silly and crude...and laughed so much my face is still hurting! It was just wonderful!

And now it's midnight...but no one is here playing! What's going on? Does everyone have dates, or something?

Okay...so I guess I'll get off soon and go to bed. It's no fun playing here by myself. :(

I'm going to go to bed earlier than usual tonight, because I am very tired, and my back hurts.

I'll go in the hot tub first.

All my late late nights this week are catching up with me.

Goodnight Moonweaver!

I'm hoping someone will pop up here and play awhile.

Otherwise, I'm off to bed myself...and I don't have a hot tub to relax in. :'(

I'm still here, Lilac, and it's more than an hour since I said I was going to bed.

But I do need to go to bed soon.

I noticed Gingersmack and Kamoke playing quizzes; maybe they'll stay up with you.

If so, no, not yet.

I'm glad you're on here.

Pat, all of my oh-so-rude "hey you"s are normally directed at the cryptic typo-loving larrissa. but i'll write you a letter too ;) :D

my bad mood will improve if i can get both of the cats healthy and flea-free at the SAME time. that's all i want, ONE day when they are both not itching like crazy!!!

ok time for bed. i have a long day of cleaning ahead of me. bah to the millionth power.
