Big  to Tana, Cindy and Robyn!

My husband used to work for Black Angus. The whole chain is going downhill from what I've heard. Thank god he has moved on. We used to call it The Black Anus.

I just called my dad to say hi. He's on painkillers for a herniated disk. I don't think either of us are sure what we talked about, but it was probably the longest chat we've had by phone and we both laughed a lot.

Where's Nymphette? Harry Connick Jr. is coming! Harry Connick Jr. is coming! He'll be here July 21st. If any of you are curious as to where I will be July 21st you now know.

I was very upset that with Dreyer's selling their Dreamery line to cool brands, my favorite ice cream in the whole-wide-world Grandma's Cookie Dough was no longer available. Apparently they had to sell the line as part of their merger with Nestle. (ohmigod, it is so pathetic that I researched the loss of my favorite ice cream!) Anyway, Dreyer's Grand now has there own cookie dough variety, so they must have kept it for their own.

Like the boots Skyline. When I was in high school I'd go int o Whatever* ever week and stare at the thigh-high Doc Martens that my mother wouldn't let me buy. I had saved up the money and everything. And being thigh-high they weren't something I could easily sneak in and out of the house.

Speaking of Hammerquill and his chocolate, I attempted to make chocolate chip cookies yesterday, and found that Brian had ate the bag of chocolate chips. No cookies for him!

*Whatever was a store much like what Hot Topic is today, but it was pre-hot topic and not a chain.

Thank you for the  Curlita.....and one back atcha!

i have never heard of apricot curd. It sounds scary (in a cottage cheesy sort of way).

Sirius you are a very thorough person to research an ice cream flavour like that.

*bonus tidbit: When i was in grade 7 (that would be the year before dirt was invented), my pa brought me home the coolest pair of boots. They were called hip waders back then. They came several inches above the knees, were shiny black fake leather, soft as a bunny, and very groooovy! :D My mom wasn't happy, so i didn't get to wear them unless she wasn't around.

I'm not sure about apricot curd, though. I think anything with apricot curd in it probably tastes even better without it.

Although my perceptions might be skewed by the fact that, when I first read that sentence, I saw apricot turd. I'm having a hard time getting over that.

My complete book of United States Hitory does not mention the War of 1812.

I became concerned that I had lost my mind and perhaps the war of 1812 did not involve the United States, even though I knew it was the U.S. declaring war on Brittian. I hate it when my confidence in printed text is stronger than my confidence in my own memory.

the complete book of United States Hitory turns out to be not so complete.

Apricot curd is like lemon curd (you know, the stuff on lemon bars?) but unfortunately not as intense, so it didn't really stand up to the serious chocolate.

And no, it wouldn't travel at all well, not even to Seattle, let alone Paris.

But still, it was good.

I can understand omitting the War of 1812. I mean, it isn't as if it had any world relevance, like being part of the Napoleonic Wars or anything. It isn't as if it was the only thing that brought about a real and final peace with Britain after the Revolution or anything. It isn't as if it was fought on US soil or anything. It isn't as if Washington, DC was burned by enemy troops or anything... </extreme sarcasm>

~ My mom is going to be moving to an apartment that is about 3 minutes (driving time) from my house! Right now she lives about 30 minutes away so it will be strange having her so close. At least now she won't have to drive so far to work and she won't have to put up with her pesky landlord who lets himself into her apartment when she isn't there!

Or make lots of copies and send them out to be altered.

I liked Sarahkate's freaky geekies too!

~ Thanks theresa & sarah! Those are the first things I have ever really sewn without my mom's help. I think I really like sewing now. I hope my creatures don't fall apart since they are partially sewn with a machine and partially hand sewn. I made dorky little stories in the books I attached to each one. One creature's name is Spazz and the other is Noodle.

Oh, now this sounds like fun.

I am having another bad day and this: Sorry, the server is too busy to handle your request, please try again in a moment is NOT helping any.

I have a sinus headache, my eyeballs feel 'tight' and I am seeing 'floaters'...my mom, who works for my optometrist, says to not worry. I didn't tell her about the headache part, just the 'floaters'.

I went to the park this morning for Megans play group and NO ONE came!

I got into a fight on the phone w/ my hubby and after we hung up I screamed "F*CK YOU" repeatedly at my cellphone and threw it across the car.

I have been having server errors too. I think it's safe to assume that it's not us.

Tana, I hope your b-i-l is okay! My dad had a quadruple bypass a year ago, and it was scary, even though it's sort of become a "routine" surgery.

The zoo here in Seattle sells composted elephant (and other) poo as zoo doo. They also make them into little animal-cookie type things that you can put in your plant as fertilizer. I have one.

I just ate the last of the honey-nougat ice cream. How could I have ever considered it too sweet???

That last batch of facts does not, repeat NOT, constitute a major sweet-tooth attack. It's plain and simple craving. :P

Probably induced by not eating properly today. I was uninspired by the veggies in the fridge today (by the time required to prepare them, actually).

Remember how I was taking bets on how much I got accomplished the other day? Some of you ought to have bet on 'nothing'. But no one offered any bets, so no one gets anything from me. So there. :P

as it regards hiibels v. nevada, i would still advise my clients to not disclose their names and pay whatever fines they get. it is likely they would be subjected to stop-and-frisk searches anyway. people should always only ever say, i want the assistance of an attorney, over and over. eventually, persons living in one of the states that doesn't allow privacy of a name, should take it up with the state legislature and demand this privacy.

Oh, so Canada's still accepting our hippies?
There's only one job for silly americans...... and it's not for you.
I don't know you, are you silly?
I have been referred to as silly, but more often as eccentric. I do have several pairs of boots though - does that qualify me for anything?
oh, i do have a weird quirk in the fact that i love to eat my french fries with mayonnaise instead of ketchup. it's a bad habit, but i love it.
Now I'm in the mood for fries with malt vinegar.

I'm sure there are at least 3 random facts somewhere in this post. Oh well, I always did suck at following the rules...

or, maybe it is South Dakota

It sheds more light on so many things I was aware of, but didn't fully recognise, acknowledge, and admit...

I can now name with great confidence (in the statistical meaning of that word) the biggest mistake of my life. Not that I blame myself for it anymore, but it remains the biggest goddamn (and other assorted swearwords) mistake of my life.

My Mother's neighbor passed away and I went to her funeral today. It was just so ...odd. I mean, odd in the sense that she's gone. She's been an "old woman" ever since I can remember...and it just seemed that she was a permanent fixture of my Mom's neighborhood. And odd in the sense that about 80 percent of the people attending the funeral had the same long nose as her. I couldnt stop looking at everyone's noses and had a strange sort of "inner pride" in the fact that I could pick out her relatives because of the nose.

I had to leave a full cart of groceries in the middle of the aisle and walk out of the store (again) due to my son's bad behavoir.

I'm really thinking about taking him to a therapist because he can be so awful at times. Not bad, really...just mouthy and argumentative to the point that I want to slap him alongside the head.

The humming birds are especially active at the moment.

i saw a real, live snapping turtle today...in the ditch by the highway. Incredible! And he was a big boy....about the size of a toilet seat lid. That's the largest turtle i've ever seen. i was concerned for his safety, but someone stopped and moved him. Thank goodness, because i couldn't. i was dying from back pain and couldn't move. Yet i was driving. i'm not driving anymore until this is gone. Well, there was nothing to be concerned about with me in control of a vehicle...it's just trying to get in and out and bend, etc.

This is my 5000th post. :yay: I remember when the top posters were in the upper thousands and lower 2000's. Three cheers for chain games! :D

I had to really stop and think to remember whether I had coffee today. I did. Iced coffee. But it's distressing that I couldn't remember for a minute.

I think now would be a good time to log off and go make dinner. I had a good breakfast, muesli with milk and a fresh banana (and the coffee), but lunch was a peach, some strawberries and ice cream...

And in honour of my 5000th post: :thewave::thewave::thewave:

Eve's post made me crave iced coffee.

I have about $15 in my checkbook until payday.

I have to see a dentist next week and I haven't been in ages (no dental insurance) and I have a cavity and know it's going to cost a bunch of $$$. :(

I'm tired.

I'm hungry.

I've got three more hours to go, and I've been here for nine already...

Today at work, I must have been "splinter queen" or something, because the guys had me pull 5 metal chips from their hands!

Today at work was also some massive cleaning effort...which is interesting in a tool shop...and especially one in which the guys are so...(how to put it?)...insane! I was cleaning out a filing cabinet and found bullets in there. What's THAT about???

My boss bought a grill in...a nice big one...and so we grilled up hotdogs for lunch today. And we went through an entire bottle of ketchup between 15 of us!

I am going to make a n'ness address book to keep track of all my n'ness friends.

I wonder how Julian is doing at the dentist.

And furthermore... I wonder how his mama (nymphette) is doing with him at the dentist!!!

My son wants to go play tennis because he found my old tennis raquets. He's never palyed tennis in his life and thinks it's going to be so easy...just hit the ball when it comes to you. He doesnt realize that you have to actually RUN to hit the ball.

I want to go take the horses for a ride up through the woods, but he's complaining that thats "boring."

I need to cook dinner and have nothing thawed. I guess that means we'll have sandwiches, as usual.

I have bric-brac up the ying-yang.

Any one have any idea what a ying-yang's worth of bric-brac is worth on the open market?

I don't know if it would be worth the time and energy to sell it on e-bay, so I think I am going to offer it up in the trade/give away department.

Lilac's son is lucky! I do not think it would be in the least boring to go horseback riding with Lilac!

I got to work on time today, but I haven't done anything overwhelmingly productive since I've been here.

The baby has been quiet today. He goes through busy and quiet spells, but the quiet spells always make me worry a little... maybe he also has a cookie dough hangover.

gawd. i wanted to go see a movie and chill, so i had the small bus drop me off. then, there is a single line at the bottom of a small sign that says, disregard any times before five on weekdays. what? why didn't it say that on the internet or on the phone message? you will compensate me for that miserable experience, mr. movie theater manager.

but, there was a small stationer's next to the movies. and the lady inside was so nice. she let me call the small bus and she gave me paper to draw on.

i didn't eat before i left because i was going to the movies. popcorn, candy, soda. nuffin, man. dinner is soon now.

Bucket o' Facts:

My mom was a treat nazi too. Once my cousin asked her if she had anything in the house to eat besides health food.

I'm going to a movie tonight and I wish I could pick up Siafu to go with me. I think my minivan can qualify as a small bus!

A friend is bringing her extra TV over here for me to borrow while mine is in the shop. YAY! I will be able to do my video workout every morning again.

Curlita your baby is fine, it's just enjoying an extended cookie dough euphoria.

I usually sleep on Thursday mornings while Gwen is in school but I have to run errands tomorrow. One is to the post office of course.

We are interviewing another potential new babysitter tomorrow. I hate hiring people. It's like buying a house or a car and you are so afraid you are going to choose the wrong one. :o

My mother told me to do something FOUR TIMES today. Does she not see that I am now over 40 and can function without her dogging my every move?

I am evil for talking bad about my mother. I don't know how I would get along without her.

I would babysit for you in a heartbeat, Sarah, so you and your hubby could go out and eat ice cream and neck...

I would babysit for Robyn, too.

I want to go to the movies with Gwensmom and siafu, too. Just let me change my shirt and I'll meet you outside!

Well, we went riding for a little bit.

And we probably stink.

i had a distaster.

i went to close the garage door ...

hit the button and walked away.

heard a terrible crunching sound.

went back.

the door was crumpling because of this big speaker box thing was in the track.

the auto stop malfunctioned.

the door wouldnt stop crunching itself.

and AMAZINGLY the stepdad says i do the dishes and we are squre.

i cant believe i did that.

we finally got it closed again, took alot of work.

the landlord is going to replace it too.

I just got back from the movie Supersize Me. Everyone must see this movie! If you need some motivation to eat right and/or lose weight, this is it.

I really can't wait to see Fahrenheit 9/11.

I need a new mattress too and I want one made out of that space age foam.

Heyyyy...Larrissa's here!

So...do you have to sleep exposed to the outdoors since you broke the garage door?

No third fact.

Medeous's post has me curious as to what magical new sort of mattress this is.

It also has me curious as to whether she's being paid to advertise for them.

And, given my most recent experience buying a foam mattress, I'm curious if the reason you fall asleep instantly might be that some of the horrendous clouds of toxic gasses billowing off it when you first get it home might have a narcotic effect, even though in the case of my mattress they mostly made me want to leave the room. ;)
