My sister is a tutor for people preparing to take the SAT test. She sent me the 8 of the hardest math questions from a practice test. I did them and mailed them back to her.
I missed 3 out of 8  ! But I showed my work and two were mostly right. She hasn't investigated the the other one yet to see where I went wrong.
She is going to send me some more hard questions. I obviously need some practice!

sirius, if you must ever venture down the stairs when you are dizzy and alone, i recommend sitting down and bumping your butt down one step at a time while holding onto a handrail.
i talked to my mom while i was driving down here...she said "okay, i'm going to go make you some money at bingo now" when she hung up...when i walked in the door, my mom called to tell me she had just won. she's spooky sometimes.
i am happy to love and be loved by the same person.

I'm mad at myself because I ate a freaking day old donut at work today! "That" time of the month is coming up soon and I've been craving sweets like crazy. I've been fighting this craving sucsessfully so far...and to blow it on a DAY OLD DONUT that I didnt even enjoy just pisses the hell out of me!!!~

2. Ooooh Ginger lemonade. It sounds good though I've never had it.
This is the recipe we're talking about:
Slice ½ lb ginger. Bring 5½ cups water to a boil. Add ginger, simmer 15 minutes. Remove from heat. Add 2½ cups honey (or a little less). Let steep 15 minutes. Strain or scoop out ginger. Add juice of 3-4 lemons and 3-4 limes. Serve diluted with sparkling water, or reheat, diluted or not, for soothing sore throats. The first day this is very strong, but it mellows a great deal overnight. It keeps quite a long time in the fridge. You can use somewhat decrepit, dried-out ginger for this if you have to, since it gets steeped anyway. There's no need to cut off the skin. And yes, I really did mean that much honey.

i wonder if HQ designed the tattoos, since he only mentioned that he was asked...
When first asked, I'd never drawn a round Celtic knot, and doing so seemed very difficult (I was used to grids), so I said probably not. Because of the request, though, I tried it out, and soon was carrying around pages covered with little compass-drawn circles to doodle knots in. So I designed quite a few. However, by that time, I'd lost touch with the person who asked me. So the answer is yes and no.
I don't have air conditioning.

~ Ahhh.... memories of when my sister and I were young. I used to pick my sister up by her head when she was like 4 or 5. Yeah, I was an evil bitch, but then again she was a brat and she gave me black eyes several times, including once when she threw a hard plastic Mrs. Potato Head beehive hairdo at my eye! <_<
~ My sister is now 17 years old. I don't pick her up by her head anymore and I couldn't even if I wanted to because we are the same height.

1. All is right with the world, I think we're getting tickets to see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban tonight.
2. I was going to break my tradition of Opening night Harry Potter because I wasn't feeling well but then my mom called me.
3. My 'best friend' has been in the USA since last Thursday (remember, I had all that time off?) and she called my mom today, 'Where's Nicole? I'm leaving tomorrow morning.' No notice... no anything. This is the not the first time it's happened, and I usually overlook it, but I guess I'm too hormonal to let it pass this time.

When I was 22 I had a best friend who is an only child too and one day we were hanging out at my house totally bored because we had no money...
We decided to give my mom a taste of what she missed only having one kid. we started play fighting saying things like "mom! she's looking at me...make her stop looking at me!" "she stuck her tounge out at me!" and "she's sitting too close to me!"...
My mom came in and gave us $20 and told us to go get the stink blown off of us.

I never really minded being an only child as a kid, but now as an adult I wish I had a sister who I was close with.

1: he's a little weird that kid... :P i think he'd get along just fine with B  N... wonder how that new baby is doing????
2: i cleaned up some more of my HEAP in the kitchen... i thought as soon as we were done making stuff for the sale that i'd be able to get it whipped back into shape!!! no such luck!!!

1. Cut and pasted from other addiction site...
Yesterday... my son almost burnt down the house!
Okay so that is maybe a little dramatic but... He went in to the bathroom to brush his teeth after supper and before going out to play. I had a candle burning in there beside the toothbrush holding glass thingy. He brushed his teeth and then ? ? ? I dunno what happened.
Ten or so minutes later (after he has rushed out the door to go play) I go down the hall to the bathroom and as I am approaching I am thinking to myself "Hmmm... that little tiny Glade candle seems to be giving off a lot of light"
I get in the bathroom and see a fire about the size of my fist on the bathroom counter! So quickly I blow it out and am suddenly hit by the stink!
So I am looking at this greenish white melted nastiness on my counter trying to figure out WTF it is!
Finally I look into the candle and I spot the head of MY toothbrush in there and I realize what the melty-mess is.
<big sigh>
That was kinda crazy.
I thought about a million what-if's including "What if I had not had to go pee at that very moment?" :o
Yikes...
So after the stink was gone and the melty mess quit smoking I went back in and cleaned up. Luckily, all there is is a little like 2 cm x .5 cm burn mark on the counter.
Whew................
2. So yeah... I guess with everything that happened when you called me and came over last night I forgot!
3. Sometimes I number my TRF and sometimes I don't... and I have no idea why that is...

3: so of course, i panicked because the other two showed, and then one for hte next day.... so i called RBC and was on hold for AGES before they finally answered... it's just because of the glitch- they have the money and it's showing up on their end, just not on my online banking- yet... they said tonight.... While decluttering I found a preppy kilt I wore in college in the early 80's. It is a SIZE 8! The waist was so tiny that I put it on my leg to see if it would fit around my thigh. It did with plenty to spare.
It has a few small moth holes in it, so I removed the buckles to use later on purses and ripped the seams out of the pleats. Next I will try to felt it in the washing machine to see if the fabric will get thicker so I can make something out of it.
Every time I rip an old garment or sweater so that I can reuse it I wonder who originally sewed/knitted/assembled it and where they are and what they are doing right now and if they even remember making that style of garment.
P.S. We will miss you Lilac and thanks for telling us where you are so we won't worry!

In high school, a friend wrote a novel in which I had the power to teleport.
Hey look those are all actually factual statements.

I finished the last of the oatmeal cookies yesterday (they had dried cranberries in them, not raisins, though).
Even so, I didn't have a very nutritious dinner tonight.
I hope bluecrayon is doing okay.

I checked my voicemail, and need to return a call from a woman at a Parenting magazine who wants to interview me.
Is the irony of that killing Gwensmom?
I don't know whether it's killing gwensmom, but it sure had me laughing...
- Teleportation would be nice.
- I wonder how bluecrayon is doing.
- I'm not sure I'd like to have a blog...
Good camping, Lilac!

I am going to lose that spot in a bit, because I have to go shower and then I am going out.
I am hoping to do some good ATC's today before I head out.

you know, i was thinking about the numbers game ..
instead of just going to 500, then back down, then back up again ..why don't we just keep going up and see how high we could get?
ugh. my tummy hurts this morning and i feel so very not aesthetically pleasing to the eye. :(

   I was rofl before I even read the third fact!
Please let me know when that story comes out so I can look for it in the pediatricians office.
Gwen's doctors have only parenting magazines in the waiting rooms and they have nothing relevant to parenting a child like Gwen. But I do look at the arts and crafts ideas.
I went shopping and forgot the Pamprin :o . I guess I'll just be Dolly Parton today.
Speaking of Dolly, where is Hollis?
Where is Theresa's new blog?

I seldom feel very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. :(
Sometimes the men I work with tell me I look like a boy, because my hair is short.
But it isn't THAT short...it's a bit below my ears.
I'm thinking of getting it cut shorter.

shave it! :P it looks good 80% of the time i would say, on females that is. men kinda look icky shaved.
i had a bowl of plums, strawberries, raspberries, and cherries with milk and a bit of cereal to make it acceptable. DELICIOUS. i highly recommend it.
david bowie is so very cool, even though i think alot of his music sucks.

Hmmm...shave it. I've never thought about shaving my head...I've had my hair qute short, but there has always been something there.
I don't think I COULD shave it...I don't know if I have the nerve.
Maybe I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to that.

Eve and Sarah, yep, a parenting magazine is looking for the non-parent to interview.
As one of my part-time jobs, I teach money management classes for teens.
They are doing an article on Raising Financially Savvy Children.

1 so all the $ was all put together, each of us didn't keep separate track of our own stuff that got sold, so we "kids" each got $20 even. sounds like a good deal to me. i don't think i sold quite that much stuff.
2 i am going to save that $20 until we go camping next weekend.

larrissa, if any of the internet lotharios asks what you like to do, or what you're into, use this: "i enjoy pretending to be a woman on the internet". it's always helped me.
i made a bowl of EZ mac with cut up hotdogs, but God didn't want me to eat it...it slipped from my bloated sausage-like fingers and now the dog is enjoying it.

Reagan is dead.
I have had to turn off my radio to avoid hearing his voice, let alone the eulogies.
Now I'll have to find something else to do; I rely on NPR and suchlike narratives in the background to get housework done.
