i suppose since they were both aquired by estee lauder it doesn't matter...
or does it (that is clinque and mac)

I use clinque only beacuse my mom buys it for me, just concealer and powder. Clinque is better than mac for foundations and powders.... mac's stuff always looks cakey on people...... when you wear mac you look like you are wearing makeup and that isn't the look i go for.

Lipsmackers makes the best lip products.

well, cool... i didn't know that...

1 my sis likes Mac

2 she gave me some Mac concealer, which i like

3 (yes, 3, not 4) i wonder (ok this is half fact, half question) if anyone here likes the Clinique "Simply" fragrance?

bluecrayon
05-01-2004, 07:38 PM
actually, clinique has always been in the lauder clan -- it was Estee's son's company -- her daughter in law named it --

How do I know this??? I used to work behind a clinique counter in Macy's when I was in college...

I can't afford any of it now...

medeous
05-01-2004, 08:08 PM
somehow, working behind a cosmetics counter is not something i would've ever pictured blue doing

i watched princess mononoke today and was surprised by some of the violence and slightly annoyed by the overabundance of bass in the mama-wolf-god's voice which made my tv sound weird

i made a gigantosaurus salad today and divided into four portions, one of which i ate

siafu

i don't wear foundation, just a bit of powder and then blush and lipstick. that's why i like that the mac blush doubles as eyeshadow. sometimes i get a wild hair and stick it up there too.

i didn't know that clinique and mac were the same peeps. it makes me feel better that clinique and mac are the same co b/c i had been feeling like a traitor to my little clinique. didn't estee lauder die last week also?

i named my doll madison.

oh yes it certainly is!!!! :D you know it sarah!!!

1: i already spent 30 minutes on and off thephone with my mom... :P she had problems getting the feeding pump to work, she kept getting a 'no set' error!!! i re- walked her through the whole thing and she did it all 'right'.... but it still wasn't working!!! :o

2: so i met her halfway between her town (qu'appelle) and mine (CS)... and pulled the pump out of the car and took it out of the carry pack, and looked it over.. i found the problem immediately... :P

3: she had threaded the pump set too far through the pump- part of the 'inside' part was outside, and so it wasn't registering that there was a pump set in it!!! fixed it in 2.0 seconds and had to listen to mom apologizing for being such a dummy.... which she wasn't being, but she got herself going... :D

4: bonus: hopefully now things will be fine!!!i contemplated getting rip-roaring drunk (ha ha) but decided i wanted to relax, get some sleep and feel refreshed tomorrow morning... :)

1. I am working on an altered book and only half paying attention to the forums.

2. I am sad. I was just looking at real estate prices in New Paltz, the town I'm in love with, and I really don't think we could afford to move there. We would have to make almost double what we earn now in order to afford living there.

3. I bought some flip flops yesterday at Target. I didn't like any they had in the women's section so I found a pair in the little girls aisle that fit me and they were only $7.99. Score!

They have a few at one of our malls, but I don't think anyone really pays attention, cuz how are you going to ticket them? Look for a car seat? And everytime I went to Babys-R-Us all the expectant mom spots were taken. :)

I am tired and cranky today.

I usually want to run down the 'kiddie friendly' parking signs when I see them. I help some elders in my community (who aren't handicapped) with their shopping, and resent like hell that a young person gets preferential treatment over them.(Sorry Tanagee but that's my reality) There is enough anti-elder sentiment to be overcome without merchants promoting it. So, we park in those spaces anyway because they are not legally protected and we'd have a field day in the press if anyone made an issue of it.

I just got back from a meeting that started on time, stayed on topic, and finished on time. Whoo! Not to mention we accomplished a lot.

Anyone want to join me in a complaint campaign to Stop & Shop supermarkets to get their signs changed to kiddie/elder parking?

- Sample and/or scintillation vials are the best containers to keep ink mixes in. You know, those small, clear lab bottles with screw-caps, so nice for keeping solutions and samples...

- I used to have several dozen empty ones, but I had to leave them when I left Montréal... I gave them to a friend of mine.

- Now I'm mixing watercolour ink, and I miss them...

Bonus: I just found a place really near my place where I *might* just find some. ^_^

elderly people can qualify for the handicapped parking permits, my gran had (and used) one when she lived at home/was still going out in public. i don't know exactly what the criteria is though.

1 french onion soup looks good, but not into making it today!

2 might however, simply mix beef broth and (cooked) skinny noodles for a snack later

Handicapped criteria are justifiably stringent, more so than just being tired and old.

Tired and old has become second class to tired and young.

It's just sucky store policies, and boycotts are going to be my solution. Grey power rules!

I hope today's mail will bring the rubber stamps I ordered from Zettiology and the barcode reader.

The last watercolor I painted needs darker darks, even though it is high key. At least I have saved a huge amount of whites, which can't be fixed later on. The darks can be added.

I'm not always such a bitch as I am today. I'm just angry and depressed at the same time because some people never change and I am too stubborn to accept that (edited to say that this is NOT in reference to someone at Nervousness).

I'm saddened by my inability to enjoy simple things in life without thinking that I don't deserve to be happy
I constantly feel out of place
I don't always understand myself, let alone others around me.

My best friend commited suicide two years ago and I still can't recover from the loss
I feel guilty because I was thousands of miles away when she died
I wish I could have told her I loved her one last time

When I was only 6 months pregnant I had someone park so close to my drivers side that I had to climb in the passenger side...Had I not been in a hurry I would have called a tow truck because they were parked illegaly in the first place. I did however leave them a really nasty note filled with many expletives and curses that their pants become a nesting site for scorpions.

To further illustrate my crankiness today...A toothless homeless guy chastised me for stopping in the crosswalk and I yelled "How about you fix my f@#king breaks for me, then I will be able to stop in a manner more to your liking!" at him

2: cuilainie- you need to spend the nex two days creating.... and make sure you dig out ALL your art supplies so it gets good and lived in and you can find stuff again!!!
 Why d'ya think I was looking for the ATC blanks? ;) Actually, my art stuff has been lying around on my desk for the past two days... :)

- Hugs to zanna... I have to go to court Thursday for my first divorce hearing (out of two).

- Problem with having the art stuff on my desk is that I can't have the keyboard there too... This place is too small to hold both a computer table and an art table. If ever my roommate finds an apartment of his own, I'll move the computer into the other room.

- Holy smokes, I've just noticed that it's almost five am... Been making ATCs, and I lost track.

I just posted belly pics on the photo thread. I am literally counting down the hours until the ultrasound on Friday.

I've spent the last hour fiddling with the digital camera when what I should really be doing is finding a birthday card to send.

I feel like such a slime. I still don't have a Mother's Day gift for my mommy.

I should be in bed. I'm overly tired and giddy now. Anything I say tonight should be disregarded tomorrow! :D

I'm too tired to get up, shut off the computer, pee, put the dogs out to pee, wash my face, brush my teeth and get myself up the stairs to bed. So...I'll just sit here like an idiot. A tired, foolish idiot.

I want to see Curlita's belly pics! I'm going to go look right now.

- I like Erica's pictures. :)

- I should have gone to bed hours ago. I'm yawning fit to break my jaw.

- Why-oh-why do the art and craft things I like best take so much time to do right? I'm impatient!

I spent nearly three hours  this afternoon painstakingly patinaing two large pieces of metal brown: http://www.davidmbowman.com/RCB/Photos/two%20brown%20pcs.jpg

I can't help but reflect that this is, considered objectively, kind of an odd thing to do.

I'm surprised that my back is not even more tired than it is.

i'm watching will and grace.

i absolutely love karen.

i wish i could be just like her ..she's so mean and bitchy, and it comes so easy

the ONLY reason i have ever watched this show is to enjoy that woman. i hate sitcoms and 90% of everything on tv. but she just rocks.

most the time i just deal, there are occasions of a dam breaking, and feelings that i somehow knew where there go running free. maybe im too restrained, in some way not understood by this silly person i have become.

i have alot of self improvement to do. hoping to find my insider that will turn this into That. ever feel this way?

yes. i want to be brave, levelheaded, dashing, and famous in a nerdy unassuming kind of way.

mostly i'm just nice.

but i might finally get to sew tonight. and that will be fun and interesting.

I didn't take any 'naked' belly pictures because I was too self concious of the extra 30 pounds of pre-baby weight that was on top of the baby belly and I kinda regret it.

I was on here at 6:30 then the Hubby called to say "lets go for Taco's" and I left without logging off...9 PM rolls around and it looks like I am still here.

This morning I felt like dancing in the post office because Footloose was on.

I sold a CD on Amazon.com and shipped it in a CD mailer I made out of a pizza box.

Gwen felt good this morning so I did too.

The light from dawn has just pushed the darkness out of the room... I can hear some mourning doves sighing

In the stillness I can hear the earth's heartbeat...

I talked to him from midnight to 345am -- It is becoming apparent I need to find the door.

- If you don't find the door, cb, draw one on the wall...

- I'm catching up on my projects. I've almost finished the returns for Life, Entropy & Paradox...

- I had a bit of an inspiration block on that one.

There was only a piece of junk mail in my box yesterday, and it wasn't even interesting enough to reuse.

Now that the AB RR is coming to an end, I feel like I am at the summit of a mountain--tired and restless.

There are two local altered book groups being formed, and I am going to go with the less structured one.

- My roommate is coming home tonight... That means no net from seven until midnight, and after midnight I'm supposed to be in bed... gotta get up early tomorrow.

- Well, actually I do have a couple of hours left on my account... (the account recharges tonight. :yay: )

1. Oooh Eve! That is a beautiful ATC! (I am assuming it's an ATC anyway :P) I love the colors :)

2. I haven't made any ATCs in quite a while. Maybe I should work on some soon.

3. I was just in the bathroom and two of my coworkers were in there and they did their business and both walked out together without washing their hands. Ewww.

- I know I should've put that in the gallery, but I felt like showing off...

- I seem to have misplaced my letter of summons for tomorrow's hearing. Sigh. This is just so typical...

- I am seriously considering ordering Indian food for dinner. I guess I could go pick it up... but it's just far enough that the food would be cold by the time I get back. And I don't have a microwave.

Thanks SK!! :) It's an acrylic and black ink ATC.

- Just make sure you don't touch anything those two touch...

- Mmmm... cheese nan....

- I wonder what I should wear tomorrow...

This is your divorce hearing, no? I would recommend big, black boots!

I'm tired, even though I got a lot of sleep last night.

I have to put up a new exhibit at the museum today. I'm excited about it being up, and also nervous about the opening tomorrow.

- Black boots are a good idea... but I don't have any. Think I'll settle for my clunky black shoes...

- I think I'm about to fall in love with acrylic gel medium. Dangerous stuff...

- I need ATC sleeves.
