Almost that good...

My son is a whirling dervish! He is like the Tasmanian Devil! You can tell where this kid been by a trail of stuff strewn on the floor, broken objects, spilled food and drinks. Arrgghh! Yesterday he (accidentally) smashed the lighbulb in the basement, knocked over the open container of Tide, tripped over the clean laundry (thus spilling it into the liquid tide) and knocked over a shelf of canned goods.

My dog vomited up a used tampon. This is really, really disgusting.

I have work to do, so I should probably stop playing chain games and get a move on! (although I'll probably stay here for a good 10-15 minutes more before i can tear myself away!)

I finished reading Pride and Prejudice late last night. I was so pleasantly surprised at the ending. From what Kathleen Kelly (Meg Ryan) said in You've Got Mail I didn't think it had the ending we all hope it would have.

I told myself I wasn't going to get on the computer AT ALL until Megan was taking a nap because I am a BAD MOMMY and let her watch TV in the other room whilst I am on here...and here I am and before I have had any breakfast.

Although, the TV is not on and she is sitting on the floor in here with me playing with all my pens and a calculator. Atleast she has stopped eating the the paper out of the paper shredder like she did whan she was a baby. :)

1. Go to http://wmbc.umbc.edu/ - then choose either hi-fi or lo-fi. I couldn't get the file to open in Windows Media Player, so I had to use Sonique. That problem might have been just with my computer though. I think Heather & Kate do their hour long show every Tuesday at 11:00. Heather said she should be back on the air next week. Yay!

2. I didn't have Cherry Coke afterall. Instead I went home at lunch and filled up a bottle of green tea, which I love even more than Cherry Coke. :)

1. Yeah, I know what you mean. It's not the conflict part I like so much, I guess I just like the fact that people act so passionate in threads like that, and it's interesting to see what people REALLY think. Though, sometimes those threads cause anger and hurt feelings which definitely is no good.

II. When I worked we had 2 kick ass mail people who always delivered and picked up our mail around lunch, the subs were always late and I once had to point out the outgoing mail tray to a sub (which was on the corner of my desk and said 'outgoing mail' on it). After one gave me someone's bundled outgoing mail, I stopped giving them important outgoing mail for fear that they would lose it or give it to someone else.

III. Last night, across the table at dinner, my hubby asked me "are you doing something different to your hair?" I said "yeah, I got it cut like 3 weeks ago" to which he replied "yeah, I knew that. It's just looking really greasy lately." (Gee thanks!)

1: my brother and i used to be very close but we arent' now and i have nothing in common with him, other than a mother....

2: i just talked to him on the phone, my mom is visiting him and his family, and when we said goodbye, it was like the end of a telemarketing phone call....

3: i don't understand his religious fervor and hippocrisy and it makes me sad....

1: my brother recently, on another forum's discussion board, put out a challenge that he could, with the power of prayer and god on his side, get anyone healed if you just tell him who and what.... and that he would leave the forums if he failed, because he believes in god so much... "I ISSUE A CHALLENGE HERE TO ANYONE WHO IS SICK TO SHARE YOUR SICKNESS WITH ME, AND AT OUR YOUTH CHURCH, WE WILL HAVE ALL OF OUR YOUTH PRAY TOGETHER AND AGREE FOR GOD TO HEAL YOU. IF GOD DOES NOT HEAL YOU, THEN I AM A LIAR, AND GOD IS NOT WHO I SAID HE IS, AND I WILL WALK AWAY FROM *these forums* NEVER TO RETURN AGAIN. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE HEALED BY THE POWER OF GOD, THEN I WILL CHALLENGE YOU TO GIVE GLORY TO THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY FOR YOUR HEALING, AND GIVE YOUR LIFE TO HIM!

2: needless to say, several people set him to a challenge... and the one man's son, who has aspberger's, was the same after the healing prayer....

3: my brohter said it was his fault that the healing didn't take place, not god's.... "Please don't blame God or get angry at him - put the blame on me. Call it presumption on my part, lack of faith, whatever, but please don't blame God. "

if he would have been healed, or any of the other's who he prayed for it would have been HALLELUJAH!!!!!! PRAISE GOD BECUASE HE IS HTE ALMIGHTY HEALER AND PROTECTOR!!!!!!

sigh

1: he also said that the way to get your prayers answered is:
"1. Ask in the name of Jesus
2. Believe that you will receive
3. Continue asking (persevering in prayer) until you receive
4. Walk in forgiveness & holiness
5. Fast (for difficult situations) "

meaning that if your prayers arent' answered, it is YOUR fault becuase you didn't believe, or after seven years of praying every night for your son's autism to be healed and you gave up and stopped, that you should have prayed every night for seven years and a day because you didn't continue until you recieved, and that OBVIOUSLY, it is all OUR fault that we have problems.....

2: he also told my sister that *I* told him that even harrison's doctor's said that he was a miracle... and he hadded that god healed him and saved his life....

3: i told her to tell him that the doctors said he was a miracle, yes, but being scientists, and not theologists, that they meant a MEDICAL MIRACLE, and not a divine one..... him being properly diagnosed and treated by his DOCTOR saved his life, not the praying that they all did for him for hte first month of his life when he was sick and comatose and near death..... if prayer worked, he would have snapped out of it.... and not continued languishing until he got the proper medication and treatments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4: and i am pissed off right now, sorry... should put this int he rant section i guess.... there was just this condescending tone in his voice when i talked to him tonight that set me off about it all.... i dont' give god credit for harrison living... i give his doctor full credit for that.... and that he's stayed so healthy??? well, his momma is somewhat knowlegable about his disorder now (knowing more about it than any doctor in this province... i should get some kind of honorary metabolic doctorate i think.... anyone with a child with special needs, or any kind of illness, IS a specialist!!!!!!!) and very vigilant about his reactions and symptoms and any signs of impending hyperammonemia, and takes real good care of him.... without asking god for help... he's a little too busy healing the REAL CHRISTIANS to pay attention to us with shaken faith....

2)Nymphette's brother sounds, um, annoying.

3) My brother and I used to be very close too when we were really little, but now we are so different in every way that sometimes it just feels fake even though he is a great brother. he calls a lot and supports me, but we don;t really "share" ugh, i hate that word like I do with other people in my family.

I just read back to Nymphette's posting about her brother. Wow! *shaking head* No wonder Nymphette isn't close! My Grandmother is a little like that. A LITTLE! Not so much a zealot, but more a dooms sayer. She's always saying I'm going to Hell for this and going to Hell for that. This has been going on since my childhood! I think this is one of the reasons I'm not too happy about attending church (although I do...mostly out of guilt, I think.) I really want to believe that there is a "Higher Power" out there...it's hard sometimes, though.

Last Sunday morning, the preacher was preaching about how Christ was risen from the tomb after his crusifixion...about how Mary Magdelen and virgin Mary had gone to the tomb to annoint the body with oil only to find the tomb empty and Jesus's clothes folded and laying on the slab. He raised his hands and shouted out "There's the proof - Jesus was risen!!!" This was the first time ever that I thought to myself "well...what if somebody just stole the body...how does folded clothing prove that Jesus was resurrected?" And then i felt guilty for even thinking that. I felt that God would "strike me down" or do something to punish me for having such blasphemous thoughts!

Maybe I just need a new church. I don't know.

- My church-related comments were directed at the Roman Catholic Church as an establishment, not at specific people.

- The specific hypocrisy which turned me away in the end was the annullment of my parents' marriage. Declaring a marriage never existed after 27 years and three kids... and letting my mother remarry in Church, that shocked the hell out of me.

Then other days, I look at the color-coded spreadsheet I made for Word Bingo, or the checksheets for the ATC LMAOs (complete with colored highlighters, and envelopes I am addressing as people sign up) and wonder when I should start therapy.

Sometimes I look at organization as planned slacking, for a sick example, when putting the dishes in the dishwasher, there are four compartments for silverware....why NOT put all the forks in one, spoons in one, knives in one...some people would say that is anal-retentive -- I say it makes it easier for me to take things out and put away, which I don't enjoy doing...

She said that she has been very busy lately trying to catch up on stuff and I think she mentioned in a Q&A to someone else that she doesn't have internet access at home. So, she hasn't really had time to play on the forums but she hopes she will be able to come back soon.

Oh why not? We should all start calling Reed "the boy"

Where is Nymphette?

I talked to Auntieemu on the phone tonight and will go see her tomorrow! :yay:

1. I feel out of place being on N'ness at this time of night on a Thursday. I'm usually a daytime Nervouser.

2. I'm home alone. I'm bored. I'm not so tired. But I don't feel like doing anything productive, so here I am.

3. Sometimes I feel like crying for no particular reason at all.

i am an eating machine today, which is not a good thing even though most of the stuff i've eaten has been okay: apples, oranges, salad, chicken breast...and those thin mints. they have thin in their name, they must be diet.

i got a letter from DoA today: she's moving to ohio later this month and hopes to be back online around the beginning of may

i signed a letter of intent today, but it is only binding for the school district and i do not have to honor it if they don't offer me a decent contract.

1. I wish I could skip work tomorrow, but I can't because two of my coworkers will be out.

2. I had to stay an hour late at work tonight. :(

3. My animals are acting weird tonight. The cats are chasing each other around and the dog kept grunting and whining for my attention until I let her outside. Oy!

2. Holy smokes! (heehehee - that term cracks me up) ... anyway.. Holy SMOKES! It's after midnight. Must go to bed.

3. I am a little silly when I'm home alone.

better watch out - don't loiter or you might be arrested.

1. Tomorrow I am going to make French Almond Tea Cakes for the MoveOn "Bake Back the White House" bake sale on Saturday.

2. That requires two cups of egg whites and more than three quarters of a pound of powdered sugar.

3. I really wish the Paramount Theatre would get me their schedule flyer in better time. I missed Monty Python and the Holy Grail on Good Friday.

i didn't notice you copying me, tana, so it must be public domain.

i put the rest of the 91 ruffino in the stew. if i catch heck for it, i'm going to me mad...as heck. LOL. there was not that much in the bottle, maybe half a glass.

i didn't have beef broth, so i just kind of improvised the juice part. smells pretty good, so it must be ok. ruffino covers a multitude of faults.

For using South Park Tana for my avatar, I just thought it was cute.

You can't tell that 'my' tongue is sticking out though.

I wish they would have had brown hair with blonde streaks.

added to add this:

Yes it is...when I worked at The Gap there was a guy who was from Quebec and he heard some hottie girls speaking French and he went to talk to them...they totally snubbed him because his French was 'inferior' to theirs.

1. On "the boy" conversation. We call the guys at work "the boys." here are two of them. They are 65 and 67 years old. I don't think they mind being called the boys.

2. On the religion front Larissa, I've been seeing/noticing that a lot to. More people seem to be ending conversations and emails with "God bless." been wondering if I missed a memo somewhere.

3. I got my actually report card today. Wonder if I mailed copies to my parents if I would get prizes. Maybe when you are 30 they don't do that anymore...

2. You can see them now... http://img51.photobucket.com/albums/v157/siriusly/RoadTrip_1774.jpg

3. Why are the San Fransisco Peaks not in San Fransisco? They have nothing to do with the city. They were named for the Fransiscan monks who helped settle the area...
