1. Last night I carved a beautiful dragonfly into my pumpkin.
2. My visiting teacher, who is supposed to come visit every month but has more money than time and so always ends up dropping off little gifties instead, left me a beautiful set of wooden oak leaves on a wire loop that hooks around a pumpkin stem. It looks so good on the pumpkin!
3. I love to surprise my husband. It's one of my favorite things. He's easy to please--bake cookies, tuck a note in a pocket of a shirt, mail a card, do an errand he thought he was going to have to do. Little stuff. I love it. :^ )

I have been super tired lately, i think from lack of iron or something

Eep! Too many posts to reply to!!!
1) I'm unsure if my house (or the land it's built on) is haunted, or I'm just a magnet for "ghostly activity." I'm leaning toward the latter explanation since "ghostly occurrances" happen here at school, too. Not a week goes by without *something* happening.
2) A member of the housekeeping staff asked me if I worship Satan. He either assumed it because a) I was dressed all in black with black eyeliner and lipstick on or b) because I was in a partial costume. Either way, it was incredibly presumptuous of him and he had no business asking me *anything* about my religious beliefs. I'm still quite pissed about it.
3) I'm getting really excited about NaNoWriMo - only 2.5 more hours of waiting!!!

1. I keep forgetting that its halloween and so I do a double take everytime I spy someone in a costume.
2. I'm terrified of ghosts. Never yet encountered one, but I do believe in 'em.
3. I had my first hot out of the oven Krispy Kreme donut today! Yum. I see now what all the fuss is about.

1. we have one of the very few new krispy kremes stores in canada, about 20-30 minutes away from me (when i am at home)... ohh yummy.
2. i'm supposed to be in class.
3. my costume consisted of my dark purple, empire waisted, floor length, medieval (one of few words i can't spell) wide scoop sleeve that come down in points dress that my mom managed to make in under a week for me to wear to prom june 2001... and the dark green velvet (Dark grey satiny lined) hooded cloak she made me for christmas last year.... i left my hair down, with 6 thin braids - 3 down each side...
i am unsure of what i was supposed to be, but i reminded one friend of Arwen from lord of the rings ('cept my hair's red (: )

1) I work in a Catholic school so I had off yesterday and today for All Hallow's Eve and All Saint's Day. I stayed at my Mom's house to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters, and we only got 7. It was incredibly boring, and this probably could have been three posts in itself.
2) I went to Border's last night on a "date" with my Mom, signed up for my 20% off teacher's appreciation discount card, drank a hazelnut latte, and got slightly frightened by this big man on stilts who looked like frankenstein and was lurking outside of the window right next to my table.
3) I write down every book that I read to my class, and add it to this ongoing bulletin board. Last year, we read over 400 titles. This year, we are up to about 95. School started on September 9th.

1. I'm taking Miss Anna to the golf course today to collect pine cones.
2. If I had the choice of hiring a chef, a maid, or a gardener, I'd hire a maid in a heartbeat.

1) I am getting more and more jealous of Melbernai's occupation. Cute kids, autumn leave collecting, lots of books, teacher's discounts... darn, I should have maybe also become a teacher!
2) Like Mejaka: a maid. In a flash. I actually had one once, before I became a full-time student again, when I used to have some of that stuff called money. She came once a week and worked her glorious wonders in the flat. It was great. *sob* SOB! lol
3) I am working on an overdue LMAO right now so I can send it out tomorrow so that Arizabif won't kill me http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif It's so funny, I keep cracking up over it. I'll have to photograph it when it's done.

1. I got one exchange ready to go out today and it's stamped and hanging on the door. There was only that one stamp. I plan on doing a couple more before the day is through so I can get completely and totally caught up.
2. I went to bed at 10:45 last night and didn't get up until 11:40 this morning. Why'd I sleep so long?!?
3. I went to put deoderant on and the little clicker thingy that pushes it up broke. Now what am I gonna do?

I have to admit, that being a Pre-K teacher rocks. There are so many perks, mainly being that the little kiddos love me dearly, and everyone needs to feel loved and appreciated sometimes. But it's still a job that pays me very little (since i'm in private school, working on getting a public school job for next year), requires an enourmous number of "overtime" hours, and like most jobs, i have to deal with shitty administration on a daily basis.
I have yet to find a job, other then this though, that gives em as much gratification and makes me feel like a good part of the world.
And now....for my 3 facts:
1) I have been awake for about 6 hours and the only think I've accomplished is eating way too much Halloween Candy.
2) My mom might be taking me *very late* birthday shopping tonight. I need a black shirt for a fashion show I am modeling in *gasp* on thursday night, and she said she'll buy it for me since I am rediculously poor.
3) I got paid today, and only $44 of my paycheck is left after rent and car insurance. That $44 has got to last me two weeks. Blah.

Oooh, it feels like I haven't posted here in forever! (It's probably only been a day!)
1. I have a multitude of barely used deoderants beucause I frequently realized that I've forgotten to put on deoderant when I'm halfway to work, and I get so horrified that I might stink, that I stop at a store and buy a new one. (I should just keep one in my car... duh... never thought of that until now!)
2. We only had two trick or treaters last night. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif I have never lived in a place that gets a lot of them. So sad.
3. I would definitely hire the maid too. I feel like I spend half my free time cleaning up after myself and Dennis. In fact, I've considered maybe a once or twice a month service.... I hear they really aren't that expensive... but any expense right now will really not help!

1. for various reasons i'm going thru one of my depressed-and-miserable-inside phases.
2. It snowed yesterday afternoon. Our first snow, on halloween. great. (blah). It snowed a bit overnight and this morning too, and little bits settled.
3. the remembrance day poppies have black centres this year, instead of green.

I'd choose the maid, too. No question.
1. I'm getting ready to go to the dollar store! http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif I am far too fond of that place.

2. Dawn and I hung up a flannel sheet in the hall doorway so we could heat up this part of the house really fast (which includes three rooms and a bedroom, but we shut the doors so only our rooms heat off). The rest of the house is freezing cold. Mom has yet to come in from the little house and see what we've done (and we only used two tacks!).
3. I ended up applying my broken deoderent with a plastic spoon (yes, i threw the spoon away) then whining to mom who said we can buy more (but of course not for the same low price I got mine at! It was only a buck, regularly like four!).

1. We gave a friend a ride to the Reverend Horton Heat show in Central Square last night. Oh, I felt so old when I saw the people in line to get in. They were all so cute with their fancy outfits and stylie hair. Meanwhile, I was yawning and ready to go home.
2. I am going to The Paper Source today. Just sit back and imagine what kind of a fabulous store that is. And how much money I'm going to (hopefully) spend.
3. If my dog wasn't so pissy and serious about guarding the house, I would have a maid. As it is, she'd be found on the sidewalk dying from loss of blood with ankle wounds. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif We had a once-a-week one when I was a kid. She systematically stole all the good silverware and stacks of blank checks. Also, she cleaned the bathtub with Windex, so that it looked really shiny and nice, but when you touched it, it was all gritty and scummy.

(1) So far the best thing about NaNoWriMo is that it's motivated me to do about a hundred chores around the house to avoid writing. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Something tells me I'll be trying to scribble 10,000 words a day starting 25 November!
(2) I was really thinking about hiring a maid if I land this job I've been pursuing. But after reading Sistasmell's last post I'm not so sure... I'm not really crazy about the idea of someone in my "space," though. I don't have much of value to steal, but my house is full of ummm.... interesting stuff which a nosey person might find!
(3) A while back I saw this online Nervous quiz (http://nervousness.org/lmao/index.cgi?id=5161) by flea, which includes the formula for your "porn star name" (first pet's name + name of first street you lived on). Years ago I first heard this in the gay male community as the formula for your "drag name" -- which is more appropriate in my case anyway, since the name I come up with is Princess Dry Bone. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

1. I desperately want to go over to GuineaBaby's and play with her. Man, that is so cool...I used to have a sign on my college-apartment bedroom door that said, "No one gets in to see the Wizard. Not no one. Not no how."
2. When I got married and lived in a little yellow story-plus cottage, I thought it would be fun to paint the front door pale creamy mint, and write on it in pale creamy pink the poem by Shel Silverstein called "Come In!" But I was sure my conservative, conventional, wonderful husband would feel very weird about it. When we moved to a more staid-looking ranch I commented that I should have painted the door, and he said, "Go ahead and paint the new one." But the new house just didn't look right for it.
3. I always intended to letter the Wizard quote above on the wall above our bedroom door in House #2, when we got around to repainting (other projects were higher on the list). I also intended to put two favorite quotes about marriage/family around the wall of our bedroom. I was searching for a good quote for the space above the boys' door, too. Then, we moved and painted everything really fast. I did manage to put "Live well, laugh often, love much" on Miss Anna's nursery wall a few months before we found out we were moving.
The favorite quotes:
"Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking together in the same direction." Antoine d' St. Exupery
"It is in the shelter of each other that people live." old proverb
4. Brett and I have a great marriage partly because we have always been taught the first (and we both grew up with the same strong sense of direction), and partly because by sheer luck the second comes fairly naturally to both of us.

Helquin ~ your drag name is hilarious! My porn star name is Brandywine Brown, which makes me think of a hot black woman with a big afro... kinda like Foxxy Cleopatra.
1. When I was four, my mom asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told her I wanted to be the Easter Bunny.
2. I absolutely hate it when people get religious over homosexuality. God is a loving god, and s/he doesn’t hate anyone because of who they find attractive. S/He has bigger things to worry about.
3. I have an autographed copy of Jello Biafra’s “I Blow Minds For a Living” spoken word album on vinyl. In addition to signing it, he bit the corner of the sleeve, and you can see his teeth marks in the cardboard.

1. COOOL! I decided to set an avatar and it WORKED! Those are my pens...that's my mess from making ABC ATCs. The first pic I tried was better but too detailed to make a good avatar.
2. I had to borrow a curling iron to do my hair for the military ball. The friend I borrowed it from is probably still laughing. She said, "YOU? YOU need a CURLING IRON?" and then she called me "Janna the Beauty Queen."
3. When I was little, we would sometimes go to family reunions--the Levanger family, my mother's side, Norwegians to the core. Uncle Bernard (whom we kids called Uncle Barnyard) always inspected our eyes. "Muriel," he would say to my mother, "Janna and Darcee are beautiful girls, but who are these other two with the off-colored eyes?" <snicker> Les and John got the brown ones...

I'll sign up, too, Katie-Kat... but I don't know what restaurant I'll mention! Chillicothe is overrun with McFastFood places and I have to drive 30-45 minutes to get to a decent place to eat out. For the first time in my life I actually cook at home more often than not... which wouldn't be so bad except that I hate doing dishes!
(1) I experience deja-vu a lot, as did my last serious beau (who considered it a sign that he was "on the right track" and not messing with the time-flow). I don't have a clue what it's all about, but sometimes it's so vivid it gives me the willies.
(2) I started a Nervousness binder this weekend with some plastic protector-sheets I found at the store (trading-card pages for ATCs and 4" x 6" photo pages for postcards). Although my Nervous collection is still kinda small, it was nice to get everything organized and see the artwork again. Now I need some pages for the larger items I've received.
(3) Among my more unusual possessions is a real monkey's skull.
mejaka

Yike--a real monkey's skull...wo.
1. I have a three-inch skull that looks like it belonged to a baby dragon, and a 16-inch shell of a horseshoe crab, among other things sent to me in a "science box" (for my boys) by a friend who lives near the beach.
2. I don't believe God hates anyone for their behavior or choices, though I do think he agonizes over some of the stupid things we do and some of the ways we cause pain to ourselves and others. I believe he--like any tender parent--tries to warn us where the pain lies. Sort of like "Don't play in the street, you'll get hit by a car." He knows where the cars are. We don't always listen. And a main purpose of this life is to learn how to love, because in the next life we are going to need to be good at it.
3. I think Dining Outs are the stupidest thing I've seen yet in the military. I was seriously tempted to bring up my own point of order last night and demand that at least the pregnant wives be allowed to go to the restroom without having their husbands stand and announce that they needed to use the female latrine and ask permission from Mr. Vice. Not a single woman left the room all night except for one soldier who was a gunner and had to recharge glasses with all the other privates. The President of the Mess looked like Christopher Walken in one of his scary roles, some guys were a little too anxious to drink from the grogg bowl, and the service was so slow that at the head table our plates were cold by the time we got to eat. My introduction to the soldiers made a good impression, though--at least the kind I like to make. At one point, when applause was appropriate, handful of privates caught me deliberately and irreverently tapping my spoon just ONCE on the table (spoon-tapping is applause) and laughed so hard I thought someone would bring it up as a point of order. :^ )

1. I did 25 ATCs this afternoon and had a great time.
2. My neighbors across the street have a holiday-decorations competition going, though neither one will admit it (their grown children, who help with the setup, are the ones that say so). Last year the lights were so bright, it was practically daylight in the east rooms of our house all season...They've already set their displays up because, as one wife says, "Some years we've really been in trouble with the wind and cold, so we have to set up early to beat that."
3. I want five tangled-vine balls in varying sizes from playground-ball size to about 24" across, all lighted with tiny white lights, to hang in my old plum trees out front. Just those, and a wreath on the door, and nothing else.

Do your neighbours use tacky (aka lighted plastic x-mas figures, or anything animated or musical) decorations? I love flamboyant holiday displays but am glad no one in my neighbourhood partakes and blinds me on my night-time walks.

The couple next door have a lot of tacky tinsel-garland stuff (a wreath, a Season's Greetings sign). Down the street, another guy who's not in the competition has these great fence-post reindeer, an ice-fishing polar bear and penguin, and (my fave) a wooden cutout of Santa, bag all askew, about to drop off the edge of the roof, and an elf and reindeer clinging desperately to the edge of the last row of shingles...

Not to make light of the labia thing, but...
1. My grandmother once called my mother in a panic, claiming her nostrils were growing closed and she couldn't breathe. My long-suffering mom made an appointment, drove 40 miles to get her, 40 back to the doc, 40 back to Grandma's and 40 back home--all so the doctor could in exasperation FINALLY say, "Irene, you've got the biggest noseholes I've ever seen, and the reason you can't breathe is that you've been lying around since you were 50 and haven't got enough muscle in your body to lift that fat off your lungs so they can open up for air!"
2. My other Grandma saw an article in the newspaper about a guy who had produced a coffin design and was selling it in California. She talked my Dad into ordering and building it, an aunt or two into doing the upholstery, and intends to be buried in it. I don't know if that's kind of sweet--having a casket made by your adult children--or just macabre. I KNOW that her current use for it is bizarre. It sits in her living room. At Christmastime it is covered with plates of her homemade (delicious) candies, and she invites people to take a gift from her "coffin table..."

Yes, thats all true for me, too. I actually voted last week when early voting was available on campus. A professor of mine had said something that really influenced my voting this year. It's so obvious, but I had not given it much thought before. He said the reason we have dishonest politicians is because we don't really want to hear the truth (that taxes will be raised, that Yucca Mtn. is inevitable here in Nevada, etc, etc). So I voted for the candidates who I thought were being most honest about government and the way theyd run it. Most of them are the underdogs (surprise, surprise) in their races--some downright unpopular even in their own party. Also, I did not vote for anyone running a negative campaign. Such tactics do not speak well of the integrity of a candidate. Unfortunately, this meant that in one instance I had to vote "none of the above" since write-ins are not allowed here. So I voted very idealistically this go-around, but it is also probably the most thought and research I've ever invested in an election.
1. I got tons of catalogs in the mail today. At one point I had managed to elimante myself almost completly from mailing lists. It took a ton of phonecalls and letters to get myself removed from all these lists. But it worked for a while. Now, seems I'm back on them again. Grrr.
2. I saw the traveling replica of the Vietnam memorial wall today. At first it seemed so, well, fake. It looked like it might blow over on a windy day. But as I walked along it, saw the momentos people left there, saw two men kneeling in obvious grief, I finally got it. It wasn't about the wall itself, its about what it symbolizes. Emotional me, I left the park crying and thanking my lucky stars that my father made it home from Vietnam alive.
3. I'm sad and tired now.

Mine is a mountain dulcimer, too....I have a pic of Miss Anna at about 3 months, lying naked in front of it...such a good picture. :^ )
1. I voted the wrong way on one of the stupid props last night.
2. This morning on my walk to the lake, I was able to stand fifteen feet from one of the deer for several minutes, just regarding her as she was me...
3. I love bell peppers, and eat them out of hand like apples. Orange are my favorites.

1. black widows are called that because the females eat the males after mating if the male doesn't have enough sense to run for it.
2. i'm a good girl today, i went to class.
3. my pizza lunch is getting cold for the second time.

Okay, here are 6 things, like I promised:
1. I am way behind on some Nervous things, and thankfully, no one's yelled at me or anything. I am trying, but i'm also under a deadline to get my room finished (redecorating can take much longer than you think).
2. I have always wished that I could skateboard, but I am too chicken to learn how.
3. When I was younger, I had a crush on Satan from that movie Legend.
4. I save movie ticket stubs. I have almost 10 years worth.
5. I believe that evil has a taste, and it's cough syrup. (esp. Robitussin. egads, i'd rather lick a toad!)
6. I went to a Buddhist church once for a class assignment, and it was the most spiritual experience that I've ever had in a house of worship. I would go there all the time, except for the fact that it's too far away.

2. i don't think my email is working, and i don't know how to fix it.:/
3. my favourite state representative won last night, and i'm so excited. he's the best.. i was his page for six straight years, and recently he offered to sue my rapist for free.

This time, 3 soda related facts:
1. I used to never drink soda. By never, I mean maybe once a month. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Then about 5 years ago the place I worked finally got vending machines. Before I knew it, I was sucking down diet coke as soon as I got in in the morning. Sometimes as early as 6:30am. (egads!) Then I started buying it for home. Although I don't drink it in the morning, I still am quite addicted, I think. I plan to quit all together one day. New Year's resolution, perhaps?
2. I've only had vanilla coke once. It was really good, but sooo sweet.
3. I don't care for the manufactured lemon-flavored coke but I love to squeeze fresh lemon in my coke.
But wait. . .I have so much more to say about soda. . .
4. I'm not one of those people who's devoted to either Pepsi OR Coke. Cola is Cola. It's all the same to me.
5. The preferred word for soda around here is "Coke" which refers to all carbonated beverages, (like how Kleenex is used as a generic term for tissues.) For example, if someone asks if you want a coke, you might say yes what kind do you have? And then they might say something like, rootbeer, sprite and orange crush. goofy, isn't it?

Lobster-girl -- I Love Love LOVE getting my eyebrows waxed. Last time I had them done was about a week and a half ago, and I'm still wiggling them to everyone on my webcam. They are so glorious.
Lela-star --- CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy! That makes 2 people I know who are expecting! How fun!
Dalmaney -- I've been without a microwave for about 4 months. It's such a pain in the butt!!
1) I was horribly tired and cranky and not wanting to get out of bed this morning, and the day turned out fantabulous.
2) I have no idea what a 'dulcimer' is, but you guys keep talking about it.
3) I'm modeling in a fashion show tomorrow night and I'm getting kinda nervous and don't wanna do it.

Helquin - I wish I could hear your Owen impression. I love that show. My little brother does some good impressions of Ben Sisquo and Odo from Deep Space Nine, as well as the Prime Minister(Jean Chretien). But anyone can impersonate him - it's hard to quote him WITHOUT mocking him.
1. Tomorrow morning will be spent creating the three dimensional shapes of molecules from little model things, and then trying to convince my dear, sweet TA's that I'm right. I forsee communication problems. English is not their first language, and some days I think it's not their second either.
2. Tomorrow afternoon will be spent dealing with my last appointment for a medical study I joined purely for the cash. Yay payday!
3. Tomorrow night will be spent at my College and Career church group with all my friends. I am really looking forward to a chance to recharge.

1. I have never done anything to my brows. Not waxed, plucked, shaped, or colored. I'm now a redhead (was a blonde before kids) and my brows are pale. I know that whenever I see a really beautiful woman, a lot of it is in the eyes and brows...but I barely comb my hair (great stylist) so how on earth can I expect that I will do whatever one has to do to keep one's nicely-styled brows up? And I also have the fear of what I see happening to a lot of women over time--they start with a little cleanup-pluck and some color...and over time they pluck more, and more, and more, until they have those pencil-thin, high arching, fake painted-on things...
2. I kind of hope someone will tell me I'm worrying about nothing on all counts above, that it's no big deal, because as I get older I find myself wanting to maximize everything I've got left...
3. I made ginger cookies today, from a friend's recipe who is one of the "1000 country cooks" of _Taste of Home_ magazine, and they are so goooood.

A dulcimer is a stringed musical instrument. Did Mejaka and I sound like some insiders club? Haha- hardly. Seeing a dulcimer, or talking about one, reminds me of my hillbilly childhood, which is not always a good thing...
Mejaka- I have been plucking and waxing my brows for about 10 years, and have managed to not get carried away yet. I just get rid of the scary strays along the bottom edge and it makes me look a whole lot better. I'm not a makeup and hairdo girl, anyway, so I would think you could avoid being sucked into that Divine eyebrow trap.
Katiekat- Tim Curry! How can anyone not love him as Satan?! We have similar taste in men (Fight Club Brad Pit).
1. When I was in high school, I did a lot of paid research studies for the FDA. I'l allergic to practically everything, so I was the person testing all the suntan lotions and eyeshadows and getting paid big bucks. I blew it all on art supplies and shoes, just like I do now.
2. I love making and giving presents. I get far more excited about someone else's birthday coming up than I do my own.
3. Lobster-girl- man, that is an impressive age for a cat! Poor old Shambles is 77 in people years, which makes him older than my parents and in-laws, but he's friskier than all of them combined.

2. I crocheted my first good item today--a scarf. It came out pretty nifty and I'm working on a blue one for Dawn.

OK, here's some of mine!
1. My cat sucks her tail and it drives me nuts! I don't know if she was weaned too early or has traumatic memories from her childhood or what, but at least 3 times a day, she takes her tail in her paws and goes to town! The noise is awful and by the time she's finished, the end of her tail looks like a stinger or something. And she usually slaps it against my leg. Wet!
2. I've always had a crush on Batman. There has always been something about Batman. Even when I was young and at my Nana's house watching the old show, I was taken with him! And then the movies came out...yeah. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
3. I love to sing. In high school, I lettered in choir as a freshman and made Texas All-State my junior and senior year. I considered doing something with it, but decided to leave it as a hobby, and so I've begun to lose it.

Just when I thought this thread would fade, and had come up with another idea to start--we get fresh people! :^ )
1. Last night, for an uncertain reason, Brett decided it was time to really clean up in the kids' rooms. He got them moving by telling them he wanted to vacuum the rooms in twenty minutes. They picked up everything, and he vacuumed--even moved the beds--and I think realized how anxious the whole thing was making me (for a buncha stupid reasons) and so was very sweet with Nathaniel, letting him say yay or nay on all his treasures, even the ones that were clearly garbage. :^ )
2. Today, I'm going to drive to his office and take him to the park or the college (weather dependent) for lunch. It's been chilly and we've dropped the habit, but yesterday (the last nice day before a week of threatened rain) he ate on the jetty and it was nice and I missed it.
3. I'm reading a book by Oliver Sacks. Every time I do this I feel stupid and wish I could understand what he was talking about. The first section is about an artist--an *artist*--who had an accident and lost all sense of color. Can't see it, can't remember what it looked like--remembers just enough to be aware that it once existed for him.

GuineaBaby...i think just the opposite regarding soda! (i'm a coke or water girl*rolls eyes*) i think pepsi is too sweet and i love coke cuz it's so carbonated but only if i get it packaged from the bottler or from McDonalds...all other coke, sucks. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
mejaka...i don't really brush my hair ever either and i don't even know how to DO hair...blow dry? forget it! i'm a ponytail girl. i wear mascara and a little grayish brown powder on lower lash line for a smudgey thing and then i wear my 'dusk' colorstay lip color and my pikaki oil on my wrists and in the cleavage! and i usually forget to wash my face and wake up wtih even more smudgey eyes....i don't do my own brows cuz it hurts and i get them done cuz it makes me feel almost pretty and i have an evil unibrow if i don't! (heehee!)
1. met the creatoe of the Mystery Date zine last night. cool lady!
2. there are 9 Boba Tea shops in my work neighborhood and all of these i can walk to in 5 minutes or so and i don't even like BOBA! i was looking for Thai iced tea when all i could find were BOBA
3. when i got home yesterday, on my floor in the living room i picked up. a lime green beanie bunny, a stuffed 'toot' pig, 2 wild things, 2 curious georges & 3 balled up socks. my old kitty B.K. likes to 'capture & kill' things! everyday he finds more. i put all the toys back in their bucket and the socks in the hamper...we'll see what he gets to today!

oooh i remember that book! i never got to read it but i wanted to...wasn't there one about tasting colors and the one about mistaking his wife for a hat or something? oh, crikey, 3 more facts!
1. an evil coworker just stepped out and returned with a box of Krispy Kremes. i had no idea there were krispy kremes nearby. evil!
2. my mother's name was Penny and on her 16th birthday someone gave her a penny charm bracelet with 16 pennies from her 16th year. she gave me the bracelet as a christmas present. it is missing 6 pennies. they were from 1957. i'm still searching.
3. val kilmer once offered me an altoid and then asked me for some validation. i told him he was a nice man for offering me a mint. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif (he meant his parking ticket)
I haven't been here in awhile, so I had some catching up to do....please indulge!
Lobster-girl - LOVE your Val Kilmer story!
I'm a Coke girl....and I think calling all sodas "Coke" is fairly common in the south - maybe because the Coca-Cola company is based in Atlanta? Where is Pepsi's HQ? I don't like the Vanilla Coke and the Lemon Coke tastes like someone took a perfectly good Coke and sprayed Lemon Pledge across the top. Another thing I've always thought of as southern is Krispy Kreme. I have to admit that I was a little put out when they put one in D.C. in the early 90s, and now they are EVERYWHERE. I hate to deny everyone, but it just seemed/seems like such a cozy "southern" thing. Sigh.
I have kept a book journal for about a year...I wish I had begun sooner.
I used to live in Williamsburg, VA, and you would see people dressed up in colonial costumes EVERYWHERE....people going home from work and then stopping by the store, etc.
KatieKat - I signed up for your menu LMAO too! Way to get people involved!
Congrats to Lela! Wonderful news!
OK, my things....
1. I've been on a conference call for the past five hours and fifteen minutes and it shows no signs of stopping any time soon. Luckily I can do this at the same time!
2. I'm eating a sub from a place called Larry's Subs. It's a national chain but is new to Charleston.....it's called a Calypso and it's delicious!
3. I LOVE making ATCs, but all of mine look like they were made by a ten year old....I just have no artistic talent, but I still like to do it!

Hey MandyR, welcome to the boards. My brother had a cat that did this too. She had long hair and her tail was absolutely disgusting afterwards. And yes, the leg thing too, Thwak! Yuck. My brother found her when she was just a wee thing, far too young to be separated from her mother, so its likely that the weaning thing is true. This cat was nuts. She'd eat ANYTHING--potato peels, Top Ramen, peanut butter. She was an odd egg.
I've been thinking about getting my eyebrows waxed, but does it hurt very much? I'm a huge wimp. Which is worse, waxing, or yanking the little buggers out one at a time? I don't really like the one at a time thing but I've never waxed anything and I've heard it really hurts. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Wow, I kept avoiding this tread for some reason and after reading the first 3 pages I realize I now have 40 more to read!!! ACK!
Here's mine:
1. When I go to sleep at night I can't have any part of my body hanging over the edge of the bed. I guess it's from watching Poltergeist as a kid, the clown scene freaked me out and at 27 I'm still scared there's something under the bed.
2. Water freaks me out too. I have this huge paranoia that *something's* out there. Lakes, rivers, pools, the bathtub sometimes; they all scare me. I have to keep reminding myself that I'm just nuts.
3. I sometimes fantasize of quitting my job, leaving my boyfriend of 9 years and just running away. I'd go some where no one knows me and just start a new life.
wenchlette
11-08-2002, 01:00 AM
1. Today I get to see my boyfriend.. Funny thing is, we're going to be staying at his parent's house in a town where neither of us lives. Meaning, we have to meet at his parents place. (I suck at piecing together sentences) Seeing as how I got a ride in at noon, and he does too, everything would seem fine, right? NOT SO! He lives 5 hours away, and I only live an hour away. *le sigh* So, I get to hang out at his parent's house, by myself (oh now wait.. two miniature schnauzers and me.. !) until supper time. Sounds like good times!
2. Yesterday I had a job offer to work in the town that I grew up in, once I'm finished school in May. The 'plan' was to finish school and then move to my boyfriend's city. so, I'm pretty torn. On the one hand, I live rent-free with my family (i'm only 19) and have a job surrounded with friends, and my relationship suffers; On the other hand, I live with my boyfriend, paying rent and for food, with no friends, but in theory I have a wonderful relationship. Jeez. Help!
3. It's 5:27 am and I'm awake, doing laundry and downloading music.. I'm the strangest person I know.
Bugitha - I've gotten my eyebrows waxed for years....it stings for a second, but it's not bad and they look really good.
Is it possible that this thread is dwindling to an end?
1. I am on part two of the telephone conference I spent ALL DAY doing yesterday. Allows me to do other things though, which is nice. Now if I were any kind of good worker, I would be doing something CONSTRUCTIVE!
2. My husband and I saw THE KID STAYS IN THE PICTURE last night. It was pretty good, but I found Robert Evans' narration very difficult to understand....maybe because of his stroke?
3. I'm leaving at noon today to go to Virginia for a wedding....I am the wedding coordinator!

it's raining! i would rather be home snuggled on the couch but then i would look at the mess that is my living room and want to clean but it is too cold and i am lazy!
1. when i was 14 i read the script for poltergeist while the film was still in production (my friend's family was all hollywood, bah.) and i was staying in a room that when reading and picturing scenes in your head, was JUST LIKE the kids room in poltergeist, tree & all AND there was this HUGE (taller than me) raggedy anne doll....needless to say, i had very scary dreams for awhile and couldn't wait ot get back home! http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
2. i had no door to my bedroom for a year (my brother & i got into a HUGE fight and he ripped it off the hinges) for my 18th birthday, he bought and installed a new door for me....locks on the OUTSIDE. i'm glad he grew out of his meanness and is now my favorite family person, other than my grandma who cracks me up!
3. my mamos was an extra in New York New York, she told me all about a nice guy named "Bobby" who got to wear a hawaiian shirt while they all had to wear suits...turns out, "Bobby" was Robert Deniro...and i'm pretty sure i spelled that wrong!

1. Once when my sister and I were staying at my Grandma's we were getting out of bed all night and my Grandma got frustrated and told us that there crabs under the bed that would nip us if we got out of bed again. That stuck with me for years. If I had to get out of bed at night I would jump as far awaya ffrom it as I could so I would have a head start on the crabs.

g3d- that conference call scares the pants off me. I HATE to talk on the phone. I barely ever do, in fact.
1. I also don't talk much. Thankfully, my husband is the same way. We have a pretty quiet house. I can't control my talking during movies and tv shows, though. I am constantly being shushed for that.
2. My family lived in a half-built house (my father lost interest in the project when we moved in) for years. We had no doors at all inside the house, just curtains on the bathrooms. I had a younger brother who terrorized me constantly and never let me take a pee in peace.
3. I have never had the opportunity to me sassy to a celeb, but I did turn down a date with a really flashy guy who screeched his car to a halt in front of the fancy store I was working in. He ran in and professed his love for me. When I told him to take a hike, he left the store yelling that he was a millionaire and that I must be insane. Ah, good times.

1. I have Webelos Scouts coming in five minutes.
2. I LOVE rain!
3. Tonight Brett and I are going Christmas shopping. I LOVE North Idaho...the Christmas elvishness hits earlier here, even for us (and remember, we're the ones who already carve jack-o-lanterns to Christmas music! LOL).
And, because I've been reading but not remarking:
1. The book I'm reading is not _The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat,_ but _An Anthropologist On Mars._
2. My family's hardly Hollywood, but my sister and parents did live there for a while. Leslie was in a couple episodes of "Silk Stalkings," a music video, a Blockbuster commercial in which the principal celeb (I can never remember who) demanded that Leslie be moved to the far background of the staging, and some series protos. Dad was in the airport scene of _Wag the Dog._
3. I was once invited to fly in an airshow with the Blue Angels. I turned them down to keep the Sabbath. Most of the time I feel good about that....

2. I only got one piece of mail today. It was a good piece, but the post office is holding back everything they're supposed to give me. My post office sucks. I never get anything on time.

1. I have a secret dream to color my hair pink, bright red or blue.

1. We just came back from spending money we shouldn't have. It's getting too much of a habit dropping $30-40 every time we go second hand shopping.
2. I pissed the people at Savers off. I bought a harry potter book for $.49 there because it was in the kids section, and now they're selling three of them (#1, 3, 4) for $20 for the set, which isn't right because that's the only books they're doing it too. GRR!
3. I messed up the scarf for Aunt Martha's birthday present and now I have to let out half of it because I stuck in an extra stitch.

2. On Thursday they finally found the man from our church who went missing the 2nd Saturday in October. His funeral is a week from today. Tomorrow, I will be leading music again in his stead, which is going to be harder now.
3. In my CD player right now: CD #1 of Handel's Messiah, John Eliot Gardiner conducting, with the Monteverdi Choir and English Baroque soloists including a boy soprano and a countertenor. The most authentic and best version of this I am aware of.

1. I stocked up on chocolate chips to make toffee and fudge with at Christmas but I'm so tempted to make chocolate chip cookies with them NOW!
2. I managed to get through the day without taking a nap. Most unusual considering its the weekend.
3. I sorta cleaned my apartment today. I'm not sure if any family or friends are coming for my graduation next month, but if they do, I will have to clean my apartment for real and that would not be a pretty site.

Ah, the boys' section at Target rocks my socks! That's where I got my favorite hoodie with the robot designs on the arms. Plus, how good does it make a girl feel to wear a child's size clothing?!! (pretty dern good)
I have also had pink, red, and blue hair. Baby blue is particularly fetching on me. It was so good that I bought lots of clothes to match and pretended to be an ice princess for one winter a few years back.
1. I decided I needed a treat yesterday and went to the fancypants grocery store. I live in kind of a rough neighborhood and sometimes just can't take one more ounce of rudeness. It's worth it to pay $4 for bread just to have a happy, pink-cheeked face beaming at you from behind the fish counter. Sometimes, anyway.
2. We rented 5 movies yesterday and watched 3 last night. I couldn't believe it, but Mr. Deeds had me laughing so hard that tears were running down my cheeks. John Turturro is a god.
3. We are cleaning the basement today. I'm having a freezer delivered tomorrow, and we need to make room. Someone come save me from the spiders!

2. I am going to hunker down and give my floor a good cleaning. It's giving me the willies at how dirty it is. Vacuum here I come!
3. Yesterday I wrapped my mom's big Christmas gift and it's bigger than I thought. It's in the back of my (clean) closet. I also made Aunt Martha a scarf for her birthday and planted the plants in the record bowls for the guys along with two catnips for the kitties.

1) I had a dream last night that I was some late 70s, early 80s, big haired italian chick living in NYC, wearing blue smudgepot eyeshadow and bright lipstick, sporting a cobalt blue dress with a white wide elastic belt on, that had to save a little baby from some Chevy Chase looking guy.
2) When I woke up from the dream, the Bee Gee's "More then a Woman" was stuck in my head.
3) Yesterday, I woke up with the Beatles' "Day Tripper' in my head, after another dream. My dream life has been active lately. You can read all about them in my Diary-X (http://melbernai.diary-x.com) if you'd like.

1. Yesterday at Church they had the veterans stand for a minute. Other than a reference to them as "heroes" (which they are but I've yet to meet a veteran who is comfortable with the word) it was just awesome to see them all stand and hear them honored. That has never happened in a congregation I've been in before.
2. I was also somewhat unexpectedly released from the presidency of our children's organization and instead issued a calling to take on the positions of our missing member (whose body was found Thursday) and his wife. Choir director, chorister, music chairman. I cried through the entire opening song, wet, drippy crying, right in front of everyone as I led the music. Among my emotions were inadequacy (I don't know how to direct a choir, and have failed at this position before), sorrow, and inexplicably, anger at the president of the children's organization, which had no basis whatsoever and I knew it but still felt it. I now have eight weeks to come up with a Christmas program, put the choir back together after several months' hiatus, and prepare the program.
3. I saved a little lost toy poodle from near-certain death by car today. Took it home. Called the newspaper to learn that the classifieds person had *just* hung up with someone looking for it. Called and left a message on their machine. Held it on my lap for hours. Returned it to the owner's husband this evening and realized that much as I like ol' Reggie-the-beagle, there is something about a little lapdog that I miss.

(2) I watched my first pay-per-view movie at home this past weekend. Considering that it cost about as much as a video rental but didn't require leaving my comfy couch, it was a pretty good deal.
(3) I got a strange phone call yesterday, indicating that I'm a topic of hot gossip in my nearby hometown. On the one hand it was kinda funny to hear that folks don't have anything better to discuss... on the other hand it was a little disturbing to hear that folks are talking about me and only one person had the grace/courage/decency/whatever to contact me, see if it was true, & express genuine concern. Ehhh... small towns.

I'm a little behind in reading this thread now...been trying to get a chance to catch up, but the way things are going it may be a week.
1. On Sunday I was blindsided by a totally unanticipated request to accept a calling. Well, three callings. Chorister, music chair, and choir director. These are the callings formerly held by Bro. May and his wife. (I don't know for sure if I mentioned the last development in that story, but Bro. May was found in the river a week ago today).
2. I was also released from the presidency of the children's organization, and promised that my stop-gap responsibility for the Webelos would be cleared in two weeks at most. They forgot I was also officially Cubmaster, but I asked to keep that one. I like it, and feel fully competent at it (not true of choir directing), and I need it.

I would be such a freak if I met famous people every day. I don't bug them ever, but I do get kind of excited. I followed Alan Alda around in the grocery store for awhile. I'm just not used to seeing people who look that RICH. Money was dripping out of his pores.
Ooh, Eenie. I'm sorry for you, the deer, and your truck! Hitting a deer is like hitting a horse. You don't realize how enormous they are until one wrecks your car. Too bad my husband wasn't there. We just bought a deep freeze for the basement and all of a sudden, he is watching hunting shows. He thinks he wants to fill it with venison. A run-over deer leg might have satisfied his bloodlust.
Jeez. Now three things:
1. I have 8 double jointed fingers (not the thumbs) and scary bending elbows. My dad and brother do, too. My mom's got the thumb thing.
2. My dishwasher broke and I am about to kill myself. I really like cleaning and keeping my little house tidy, but I cannot stand washing dishes.
3. I've been having tons of dreams lately. One was about this country being invaded and people being rounded up for prison camps (not a good dream at all!) and another was a totally sexy one involving Grissom from CSI. 1. we went to take photos of my truck today.. there was deer fur all over the front. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif that might have satisfied sistasmell's husband's blood lust a little bit.http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif photos are here: http://www.villagephotos.com/pubgallery.asp?id_=61453 i swear my girl was a lot prettier before this happened!

Wow, eenie, your truck sure is a wreck! That's terrible. You reminded me that my mom hit a deer within the last year, and when she made a claim to her insurance, they made her collect fur and blood off her car to prove that she really hit a deer. That is one of the strangest things I've ever heard. I guess the insurance didn't cover hitting a cow.
1. I have gone from a kid who helped her dad clean his deer kills to a vegetarian (10 years), and back to a meat eater. No more deer skinning for me, though. Now I'm one of those people who eats meat but doesn't like to touch it raw.
2. I am totally petrified that my dog will be hit by a car. He is absolutely never off leash. Thank goodness we have a big fenced in yard. A lot of dogs in my neighborhood are allowed to roam free, and I worry about them all the time.
3. I told a bunch of people this week that I don't want to exchange gifts this Christmas. It has gotten way out of hand with some friends, and I just don't need anymore stuff. Some of them didn't take it very well. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

Oh, wow, eenie! And it looked like such a nice shiny truck, too! I'm just glad you're okay - take care 'o yourself.
1. I'm home sick for the second time this month. First was food poisoning. This time it's a bad throat flue-y sort of thing. It's not fun, but I love to hear my voice when it's screwed up like this!
2. I, too, had another tooth loss dream last night. Lost two of 'em. We seriously have to drop this subject-- it's creeping into our subconscious!
3. I won't sit on a toilet seat in a public restroom (unless I'll have to be there for a very long time). I hover. Those paper liners just aren't enough protection for me... liquids can soak right through.

1. I choked on a piece of bread today while I was eating lunch and watching Judge Judy. It scares me when I do that--in part because I have a fear of dying alone.
2. I'm addicted to chap stick/lip balm. They are strategically placed all over the house. On my computer desk is Badger brand cinnamon bay lip and body balm that I bought because of the cute little badger picture on the tin. If I were ever on Survivor, I'd have to chose chap stick as my luxury item.
3. I'm afraid of heights.

Wow, major hugs to eenie-bug! Again, so happy you're safe, sweets.
1. I hate, hate, hate wire hangers. I swear, they are the bane of my existance. I hate the way they get all tangled up and bent and if they get rusty they stain your white shirts! I HATE THEM!!
2. I drink lots of iced tea. But not with sugar. Blech! I do not like sweetened tea.
3. Ok, something positive: I love being able to listen to the radio at my desk at work. Silence bugs the crap outta me, and I really do work better with background noise.

2. I'm thinking of crocheting my parents an afghan for Christmas, and if I do, I really better get started on it soon.

Cute 'do queensara! I'm going to get my hair cut in about an hour (and colored.....shhhhhhhh! =).....I mean, TONS of people have naturally blonde hair at age thirty two, right?)
I LOVE sweetened iced tea. I was raised to call it "sweettea"...all one word. It's hard to find here in WV, but further south you can get it at all restaurants.....yum! I make it all the time for myself in my Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Pot.

2. I'm still just blown away at the harassment Canadian citizens are taking at the US border if they were born in the wrong place. It just seems so... wrong. So very very wrong. Not like it affects me personally, but sucks to be the kid born in Sudan.

At this very moment I am having a sandwich and. . .Iced Tea! I can take or leave sugar in my tea. I kinda perfer it with sugar but will go without depending on how I'm feeling about tooth decay or my weight at any given moment. I don't like pre-sweetened bottled teas because they tend to be way too sweet for me. Can take or leave lemon in my tea, too.

I got them in a smokey blue, sage, and plum color, plus a mixed yarn color that has ivory and all the other colors blended together.
3. I started on the afghan and got addicted to working on it, and in just a few hours last night I've already got about a 3.5 square piece going .... it'll be a big square throw when I'm finished with it.

Lobster-girl. Woman. Open the package already! You're making me nervous~ hehe.
I have never had a Nutella crepe. I need one now, though.
1. I have a new digital camera and I'm in love with it! Wanna see something gross? You can visit my double jointed fingers here. (http://www.geocities.com/sistasmell/doublejoints.html) I guess I haven't been displaying them often enough. I seem to have lost some of my ability.
2. I have been doing a lot of Christmas knitting, but absolutely no Christmas shopping. I'm starting to panic. I'm a planning-type person, and I've usually got Christmas squared away by now.
3. Nothing makes me happier than when someone likes something I have made. Food, art, knitting, doesn't matter. I've been getting so many compliments that I think I might start strutting soon! Somebody stop me!
4. Bonus- my naughty dog nipped my landlord's ankle (actually pant leg) when he came over yesterday. Good thing the landlord is kind of a drunk and didn't really seem to mind. Just about gave me a heart attack, though. We have a big old house for practically no money. If he gave us the boot, we couldn't get a studio for what we're paying now.

I bought a Christmas present yesterday, too! A dart board for a nephew. I really only need to get two more gifts and I'm completely stumped as to what they should be. One is for a ten-year old nephew who is autistic. I never know what to get him and when I ask his parents, they always just say "toys" because it seems no one knows what to get him so they just buy him clothes. Poor little guy, nothing to play with but he has a fabulous wardrobe.
The other gift is for my best friend of 20 years. You'd think by now I'd know what she'd really like, but you'd be wrong.
1. I bought all easy-dinner stuff like soup and sandwich fixin's at the store yesterday since I will be very attatched to the computer for the next 3 weeks pounding out 4 research papers and the rest of my thesis. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

3. I have a borderline obsessive need for post-it notes of all shapes/colors/sizes.
And three new things--
1. I don't have a tub in my apartment, just a shower. Therefore I can only dream of leisurely bubble baths.
2. I'm freezing but won't turn on my heat because I'm sure it will warm up soon (adding third layer of clothes now).
3. I'd like to live in a windmill or a lighthouse.

2. I've always thought it would be cool to convert an old school into a house. There's an old high school by my work that the USD 500 now uses as office space -- every time i go there I wish I could buy it and make it rad.

queensara-that is such a cute hair cut! I've been dying to cut mine, but it's not like I can go out and get it cut cause I haven't the cash...I wanna streak it before I have to do anything where I can't.
Bugitha-I've seen tons of shows on autistic children. What type does he have? I know some of them can repeat songs they hear, so you could get him a keyboard, and others can make perfect angles with those wooden shapes we used to play with in kindergarten.
katiekat-Yesterday we went with my mom to her "down there" check up appointment and I would *love* to live in those offices! The buildings are so cute! And there's a cement walk that's kind of like cobblestone and it would be oh-so-perfect to live in! Mom said it's hard to get around in wheelchairs (don't I know it!) but if someone could afford to buy it to live in it, they can afford to replace the buldging, cracked from weather and earthquakes pathways.
1. I swear I'm going to get dehydrated because the only thing I drink is cold tea and I can't drink it because it hurts my tooth. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
2. I wasn't able to make it to the post office like I promised a couple people because of how I've been feeling and school and Aunt Martha's birthday party today and I feel absolutely horrendous about it.
3. I still don't have my license, so my sister and I are going to practice for the test and see if we can get Aunt Martha to bring us to the DMV (when we get the cash cause I think we need some and of course after we study) to see if we can surprise mom.

2. We got to make homemade cards, and the lady is a scrapbooker so she had all kinds of die cuts, a paper crimping machine (neat!) and fancy papers and now I'm just jealous, because my scrapbooking supplies are much more limited.

Thanks for the thoughtful suggestions guineababy. By the way, I was wondering, which poem did you choose for your explication?

1. I have so much crap in my room and it's disorganized, that when I try to get organized, it doesn't work and stuff keeps coming back in here.

1. I ended up needing to pick up 4 more skeins of yarn for my parents afghan, so a total of 10 skeins in all, because I have a feeling the 6 I bought already wouldn't be enough. At 4.49/skein, it's getting expensive, but still, about $50 for a wonderful handmade gift for them isn't so bad after all.
2. I'm officially *almost* done with Christmas shopping, and I think this is my earliest year yet. I just have to shop for my sister Irene still, and I think I'll probably make her a hand-crocheted scarf, one of those SUPER long ones that are so in this year, and then get her some funky socks or something.
3. I am feeling ultra-productive this weekend.
Ummmmmm.....NUTELLA! I like to put some in a bowl, pour a bunch of Grape Nuts over it and eat it with a spoon - the BEST!
1. We ate out every meal this weekend: chinese on Friday night, Fazoli's on Saturday afternoon (where they had SWEETEA! I thought of you all), Saturday dinner at the home of people I work with, Sunday lunch at the annual Greek Orthodox dinner weekend, Sunday dinner at Pizzeria Uno. I know I'm going to die of carb/sugar overload!
2. Went to church yesterday for the first time since I got married....felt good.
3. Had leftover sausage/mushroom/pesto pizza for breakfast...very good!

2. A good friend of mine was telling me about his girlfriend last night and even though there's never been the slightest hint of attraction between the two of us, I was suddenly overcome with crazy jealousy. Why can't I just be happy for him like a good friend should be?

1. i'm really stressed out. between my truck and school, i could scream. i wish i never would have transferred home. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
2. i hate to make it a common occurence, but i'm really strongly thinking of leaving this place. it's not the nervousness i signed up for, and perhaps that sounds bitchy.. but it's just how i feel.
3. rarr. i feel like a big cranky jerk today. i'm sorry!
eenie - don't leave! I've just finished perusing the forum thread on frustrations and possible changes to the site and I've come away feeling much more optimistic about things.
1. We had some GREAT news today.....my DH was just made partner. Now if Stephen charges a fee for nervous, I'll be able to pay it! =)
2. I'm catching up on a bunch of LMAOs and I've done a TON of ATCs in the past few days...it's been lots of fun.
3. I have the worst head cold/cough. I feel like I'm dying.

Please don't appologize eenie, but please don't leave out of frustration either. Is there anything I/we can do? What are you feeling frustrated about?
1. I came here so I wouldn't throw my computer across the room. My word processor (with my essay) isn't opening! D A M N!
2. I feel icky too.
3. I am utterly dependant on my datebook. Without I am lost and have no idea have I'm supposed to be doing.

Eenie -- I'd hate to see you go, but honestly, I'm beginning to feel similarily. The site that exists right now is definately not what I signed up for back in April. I know stephen and everyone is working towards improvements, but I just have a distaste about so many things. If eventually my access to the site is taken away because I can't pay a fee, then that is definately when I'll leave. I've worked hard to establish myself as someone trustworthy on here, and I don't feel that the inability to pay a $15 fee or whatever should take that away from me. What about all the hard work I've put in?
1. One of my pre-k kids pulled down her pants and shook her "bootay" at the rest of the class in the middle of the hallway today during dismissal time. *gasp* my parents were shocked, i was shocked, and most of the other students thought it was hysterical. So I had to explain to her how we have our private areas that we don't show other people, and all of that stuff. What fun.
2. I always wanted an imaginary friend when I was little, but couldn't figure out how to get one. SO when my sister was born when I was 10 years old, I made one up for her. The imaginary friend's name was Whilmemina Zinkeiwicz.
3. I once got a small pebble stuck under the skin of my foot. Then one day it flew out when I was swinging on my swingset barefooted, since I flung my flipflops off.

1. First I voted for paying a small, nominal fee, but now I'm starting to doubt it. Yes, he does have this site, but did it not start out as a fun site for someone? They put their time in it as their extracurricular activity. Now it's all of our extracurricular activity. I'm starting to think I don't want to pay that extra bit of money, because that's something that can go into postage. I know most of the people on here are from the United States, so the high postage plus a fee could turn away people out of country. I have worked hard for my good reputation, and I don't want to lose it and go somewhere else because of not being able to pay. Money is tight right now.
2. I want to make new icons for my LJ but I haven't found the time yet.
3. I lost my English notebook, so I hope I don't need it tonight!

for me, putridpant's lmao was the straw that broke the camel's back. i've been trying to keep my heart in this site for a long time now, but coupled with the possibility of this becoming a pay site and people being big 'ol jerks really pushed my heart out. i love and adore so many of you, and i would love to keep creating things for you.. and being there for you, but i'm not sure that i want to co-exist with some people on this site. i'm not referring to anyone in here, because i think you girls (and 2 guys ^_~) are all fabulous, empathetic people. i've been a member of this site since september 2001, and i've met many wonderful people, but i don't feel like this is the same warm community that it used to be.
oh, i feel like a melodramatic rambling fool. i should just shut up, but i wanted to explain my frustrations a bit.: )
1. i tend to be long-winded.. as if you didn't get that!

1. Well, the crazy little Captain Shambles Underpants (see photo at left) tore his cruciate ligament this afternoon. He gets to have surgery at the end of the week. I always knew the combination of being a complete maniac and being 11 years old was not a good one.
2. Woohoo, my credit card bill is going to be a doozy after this one!
3. In an earlier post, I told lobster-girl that it was "oh so easy" to get a pet to take pills when you put them inside a gob of cream cheese. I stand corrected this evening.
Had two cigs, a stiff drink, an episode of Buffy, and we are headed off to bed! What an evening.

large? as in you're wearing many layers so you think you look like the state puff marshmallow man? large? eenie, i hope you don't mean like fat large, cuz i've seen your pics, and your so thin.
1. over the past 5 days i've probably crocheted a total of about 24 hours, in increments, of course. ::must finish christmas presents!::
2. much to my surprise, my big evil blue gourami fish hasn't eaten his new friends yet, and it's been over a month. wow, i actually found fish that he won't eat. it only took about 13 fish to get this point, some of which were bigger then the big evil blue gourami fish.
3. i am aching to listen to christmas music, but am trying to hold out until after thanksgiving. i bought a celtic harp christmas CD the other night. i can't wait to listen to it over and over and over again.

But I haven't said I'm glad you're okay, and I AM SO GLAD you're okay. Also, you really should make the evil snowmen! LOL! So some people might think it's weird--I think it's great!

1. Last year I got to sing "O Holy Night" at church. :^ ) It was a huge thrill because all my growing-up years, my brother John or sister Leslie got to sing it...never me. (I always was asked to sing "Mary's Lullaby to the Infant King," which is also beautiful).
2. My son Braden, 10, developed some math theorem based on square and odd numbers that has him in conferences with a former high-school math teacher turned gifted-ed coordinator. How can this boy be my child?!
3. Today I browsed through Martha Stewart's Christmas book and decided that I'd love to have a party with such incredible decorations, and serve such stunning food--but a person would have to be freakin' INSANE to DO it all THEMSELVES!

eenie, mel, please don't leave. Completely selfish reasons here, but I like you guys. We need great nervous folks like you to counter the not-so-great ones.
I've only been here since July, but that's long enough to know that I like this site more at some times and less at others. Might it come around to good again, given a little time?
O Holy Night was my mother's fave Christmas song. Crazy memory here, but does anyone remember when Robert Guillome (I know that's spelled wrong) sang it on an episode of Benson? I thought it was a brilliant performance. But then again, I was like 8 years old. What do I know? Hmmm. . .A bit sad that I can relate nearly everything in life to a sitcom.
Oh! Eenie--evil snowmen sound fabulous. Do it! Do it!
1. I have been in an ultra-self critical mode lately. Not sure where it came from.
2. I'm looking forward to decorating for Christmas.

3. and it will keep my mind off of teaching tomorrow. why am i so freaked out? this will be my career someday and it's scaring me to death.
I'm just so sad at the thought of so many of you leaving nervous......is it too nosy to ask what is going on that is making everyone so unhappy? I understand what Guineababy is saying about the payments, but at the same time I'm thinking that the requirement might actually alleviate some of the things I think might be bothering you guys (but since I'm not sure what they are, I asked the question...).

2. My wedding was over two months ago and I STILL haven't finished my thank you notes. I am a terrible, terrible person.
3. Had Frito Scoops and French Onion dip for dinner last night....and it was a #### fine meal. Had a piece of baklava for dessert. I'm sure my mother would be very proud.

g3d, I won't go into the details of why I'm leaving Nervousness on the forums. In my view, it's not the place. If you (or anyone else) wants to discuss it privately, I'm happy to do so over email, but I don't feel comfortable discussing it in the forums.
1) I walk with a slight limp due to a dance injury when I was 18. Unless I'm on a moving walkway or an escalator, I never notice it, though.
2) I have two cats who are complete opposites (in every way) of each other, and love them both to death.
3) I'm going home for Yuletide for the first time in three years this year.

g3d- Don't worry about it. I just received thank you notes a month ago and the wedding was way back in June. People understand that you just got married and there are other things you have to take care of.
1. I, too, have voiced (in my lj) if I should leave or not, before all this money discussions came up. I've been ripped off too many times and it's disheartening.
2. I'm exhausted. I slept ten hours last night, but I've needed more sleep than that for the last week. I get up because I feel so guilty when I sleep all day (obviously unlike Dawn who is still in bed lol).
3. My room is a mess and I'm going to cry because there's so much crap in here I can't make it look nice.

Uhrg, I feel like I've been sucked into a pay/no pay nervous debate black hole! Time to get back out and have some fun with facts. Hooray.
1) I'm very sad to see so many of my nervous elders talking about leaving. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif I hope hope hope some of you will keep in mind the positive stuff that's left, and stay for that!!!
2) my new bed for the spare room is being delivered tomorrow! i think it's going to be cushier than my own bed, and i'll want to sleep in it instead.
3) one of my neighbors put up a giant tanker-sized bucketful of X-Mas lights the day after Halloween. It drives me nuts. He's crazy. I could tell stories. I co-worker hit him over the head with a metal pipe (out of self-defense), so now he's even crazier. It's a funny scene (the X-mas lights), because his next-door neighbor still has Halloween lights up.

1. My mother ticked me off for some reason I can't remember any more. I just saw a repeat Oprah on overweight children so instead of eating like I normally do when I get upset/bored/feel anything (ya'll know I'm overweight) I cleaned up the living room, except for one part in which Dawn came in and plopped herself down and got mad at me for cleaning, when I was there first. My goal was to remove all traces of me from the living room. I feel like I accomplished that goal, except with the corner of course, and I want to vacuum in the couches tomorrow. Oh, and hit the kitchen table. I did manage to get two grocery bags of trash out of the living room.
2. My next goal is to clean off ONE surface in my room, get it looking nice, and keep it that way for at least a month. (One thing at a time!)
3. I sat out side with my guinea pigs today cause it was so nice and let them eat the grass.
Bonus because I feel like it 4. I *hate* long sleeves. I don't like the way they feel on my arms, so I'm always walking around in short sleeves or tank tops.

Yaaay! Shambles had his surgery and is back at home. He is none too thrilled (thinking of changing his name to Polly Pissypants), but he is recovering well and doing okay. He has a lovely purple cast with a big yellow love heart on it and the surgery was $200 less than the estimate!!! It's not that he is spitting out his pills, it is just that cream cheese doesn't have the same allure it once had. Deli ham does the trick, thankfully. Gotta keep this critter drugged up and semi-happy.
Woohoo!
1. I got some Lobsterbot pillows in the mail from lobster-girl the other day. They made my week! I keep just sitting and looking at them. Long live nervous exchanges!
2. I spent all my Christmas money on the dog's operation. Looks like handknit items for everyone. No fanciness this year.
3. Unlike Melbernai, I am married. When I think back to my wedding day, I want to cry. It was meant to be an outdoor wedding but there was a hurricane. There was also a fistfight. Furniture was broken and there was a big smear of blood on a wall. I know. I'm classy. Everyone always tells us it was the best wedding they've ever been to, so I guess we did something right. 2. i made robot marble magnetslast ngiht only i'm out of magnets and all the michaels by me are out and i can't find them reasonably online...but, the robots make me very happy and i dance around my lving room with them!

sistasmell -- that sounds like one helluva wedding! my sister's wedding was also very unforgettable. although there were no fistfights, it was on august 10, 2001 and it was a HOT MUGGY rainy day, and while we were in the church a huge thunder and lightening storm hit and put the power out in the church. we finally got the emergency alarms to go off so that they could proceed, and it was so dark out since the sky was so overcast, that she got married in very dim candlelight. it was almost romantic. no microphones, just everying silently listening. the only non-romantic part was that we were all sweating our nuts off since the A/C went off as well and it was like 100 degrees out.
asocial -- about chess, i never really learned how to play until i was in college and was working one-on-one with a boy who was learning disabled. as part of the program, i'd play a game of chess with him as a reward if he had a great session, and he beat me every time. i had no chance in winning.
eenie -- so glad to hear that your teaching went well. you'll make a great teacher. the best thing is that you do have so many other interests, and you'll be able to take them with you and make a great impression on your students, as a result.
Okay, since I'm obsessed with thinking about getting married lately.....
1. When I get married, I want a mini-orchastra (some strings, wind instruments, piano, guitar) to play Canon in D as I walk down the aisle.
2. I want to wear a tiara. Lol.
3. I want my first dance song to be "At Last" by Ella Fitzgerald, my cake cutting song to be "I wanna grow old with you" by Adam Sandler (from The Wedding Singer) and my last dance to be "Come away with me" by Norah Jones. That song is so sexy to me.
But, alas, I must find a husband first. Boyfriend, even. Bleh.

I LOVE the song landslide by stevie nicks. I would use that as my "dad" dance, but a friend of mien lost his mother in college, they were in a bad car accident, he made it, she didn't, and that song was always associated with her death, so I don't know if I can bring myself to using that for my Dad dance song. I'd love to use "Lullaby" by Billy Joel but my sister Randi already beat me to it.
Sounds like your outside wedding sounds perfect. I personally go back and forth with my actual wedding plans. The free spirit in me wants to just run off to vegas and get married by elvis, the rational person in me wants to get married in my parents back yard, in the summer, since my dad plants so many pretty flowers and it really looks nice, and will be cheap also, and the princess in me wants a glorious wedding in a beautiful old marble church like st. patrick's cathedral in NYC or the motherhouse chapel at my old college, and then the reception in something that seems like a castle. i'm sure my actual wedding with be a combination of all of the above, but perhaps without elvis. some aunt will probably wear plenty of sequens, to make up for it.
And now I have to post random facts.
1. The "wobbie" aka afghan that i'm making my parents for christmas is about 5' square now. I've been working on it for a week.
2. A conversation with someone that I haven't talked to in a while has me thinking about my ex boyfriend, Joe, who I thought was "the one" for a really long time.
3. I absolutely swear by Downy Wrinkle Reducer. I haven't ironed in like 2 years. In fact, I don't even think I know where my iron is.

Yeah, me too! Hasn't stopped me from planning my wedding either. A few details:
1. No veil for me, but I would like to wear a wreath of flowers on my head or have flowers woven into my (currently short) long-flowing hair.
2. An outdoor wedding but on a warm night around sunset-ish. A Midsummer Night's Dream theme--a boquet with flowers and candles--an outdoor reception with torches, twinkly lights, gauzy, flowy, romantic, magical.
3. I will NOT make my bridesmaids wear some horrid, outrageously priced gown. This much I vow.

ooh, me too.http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif i want to wear my hair up, with flowers in it..
1. i don't want a traditional rose bouquet, instead i want to carry a single large lily. for my senior prom that was my flower bouquet, and it was gorgeous. i should scan a photo of it.
2. my bridesmaids will wear (cheap) yellow dresses and carry daisies.

oooh! Wedding talk! ^_^
1. I want my boquet to be daisies (my fav flower) and white roses.
2. My wedding is going to be held at las Vegas. Who ever wants to come can show up, I'm not spending a lot of $$ because I hate being the center of attention. I've already told Aunt Mart and Dawn I'll pay for their plane tickets, but that's it. When I come home, we'll have the reception. That or Dawn and I will have a double wedding, which will take part of the attention off of me.
3. I want my hair up with a little tiara and a veil hanging from over a bun.

Woo hoo! 50 pages of random facts. cool.
1. I have just finished watching Babbets Feast and feel like making a really complicated dinner for a bunch of friends.
2. Even though my thesis draft was way too short, I got an e-mail from my advisor telling me that overall it was an excellent paper and if I fixed a few minor things, and he would consider it done! Huh?http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif You mean I don't have to write another 20 pages??? But hey, I'm not complaining. I got tons of other papers to write. Yippee!
3. I didn't develop the habit of biting my fingernails until I was an adult. Gross. Can't seem to stop, either. *sigh*

Ooh! Wedding facts, I love it! So, funny... I, too, plan on playing "Landslide" at my wedding for the dance with my dad.
1. My parents want the dad dance song to be "Sunrise, Sunset" from "Fiddler on the Roof." I want to make them happy, but geez, I just couldn't stomach it, and I'm even a big fann of musical. But come on, of all the cheese... oh it stresses me out just thinking about it.
2. Hubby and I (this is assuming it would be w/ my bf of 7 years) would dance to "A Whiter Shade of Pale"... the Annie Lennox version, 'cause that's our song.
3. Found the ideal spot for our wedding... a gazebo right on the cliffs of the Mendocino coastline, but they only allow 30 guests! I want a small wedding, but I'd be hurting people's feeling if I had the shave down the list to that small.

4. My best friend from college was a bridezilla, and it was a nightmare (and almost caused me bankrupcey *exaggerating*) to be in her wedding. My best friend from high school eloped in Las Vegas (Elvis wedding) and I was very bummed I missed her big day. Can't there be a happy medium?http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

2. Dad said Mom was going to go out to pick up an ink cartridge, but that was three hours ago, so he doesn't know where she is. She probably went to good will or something.
3. My allergies are acting up like crazy.

Three random facts about me:
1. I am incredibly shy and am using Nervousness to try to learn to be confident in sharing created words/works.
2. I collect just scraps of anything remotely useful - people can't dump their office trashcans without a good sifting from me (hey - there is a lot to be said for used wrapping paper, groovy clipart catalogs and useless cd's)
3. I keep trying to learn Hebrew but it's awful hard to motivate to practice on your own (anyone out there wanna tutor?)

This is brilliant! Here you go:
1. I've had a recurring dream ever since I can remember in which I have to drive a car without a permit / insurance (or the ability to drive!) and get to a certain destination (different each time) without the police spotting me.
2. I had my first serious relationship when I was 13, and it lasted for over 2 years.
3. I' totally uncreative - in fact I failed my art GCSE!!! [i](exam taken at 16). And yet I love Nervousness...

uh-oh, I have to add 3 more facts now, don't I
1. I am allergic to lots of different foods, such as nut, fish, and, randomly...aubergines!!
2. I never used to watch TV as a child, so I haven't heard of any of the famous people from the late 80s, or any kid's programmes from then.
3. I think honesty is by far the most important quality in anyone.

Haha! I just read Torksoul's post and had to be greedy and add three more - the teevee thing made me do it!
1. I haven't had a television in over 3 years so I never understand what folks around me are talking about as the tv programs seem to dominate their conversations...
2. I drive an old vw rabbit, and will drive that wonderful hunk of rust until it melts into the ground.
3. I am addicted to garage sales.

Ah, the classical music made me think of these three:
1. My favorite composer is Chopin.
2. I was introduced to Chopin because my favorite historical female figure is George Sand (who "dated" Chopin).
3. I was introduced to George Sand because my favorite actress (at the time) was Bernadette Peters, who was in the movie, "Impromptu," which was about George Sand.

1. Two of my friends have gotten engaged in the past week, one friend is getting married this summer, three are already married, etc etc. I'm happy for them all, but it just makes me feel more miserable. My only single friends left are the lil girls in my girl scout troop, and I don't even know if I should consider them friends since they are 10 years younger then me.
2. I spent the entire day at my parents house. We watched the Muppet Christmas Carol and I stole embossing powder that I found in my Mom's junk drawer. It was from like 1987 or something so I don't think she'll mind.
3. I'm in a really low mood.

1. I do not eat grapes...but I drink grape wine and raisins. Hehehehe.

3. I love reading poems, but can't write one for the life of me.

Hey YEAH! 50 pages! You guys ROCK! /applauds/
1. Weddings...Wow, have I been married 15 years? I wore a long skirt and blouse made on an antique Singer by a very sweet seamstress named Ramona, and I still can't remember why Mom hired someone...with a 100-year-old detachable Battenburg lace collar (well, okay, couldn't wear the collar for the actual ceremony because it wasn't white enough for an LDS Temple ceremony--it's symbolic--but wore it for the reception). We didn't have a dance, but I sang "Surprise" by Sylvia, and Brett and I sang "Devoted to You"--the one that starts "Darling, you can count on me..." My parents sang "Side by Side" at my request and my mom was puzzled by that but the song reminds me so much of their long and happy, playful, sweet wonderful marriage, what more would I want at my wedding? Then my family did the traditional rendition of "The Gossip Song"--yes, from "Hee Haw"--with verses written about our courtship.../shudder/
2. I have Journal #673. It's my second from the project. I've contacted every Nness person in my area and offered them a chance to play with it. I have appointments with three rather bemused and uncertain people--some more than others.
3. I'm reading _The Prince of Tides_ and for once I think I might find a movie better than a book, because it couldn't be worse. The dialogue alone is driving me mad--Every character in the book punctuates every line of a conversation with the person's name. How on earth did this get past the editors at Bantam's pback division!?

1. I went to the post office today. Except for Monika's stuff and the last of the ATCs for that one girl, I think I'm all caught up. woo hoo!
2. I got VERY little sleep last night. I was up early to go with Mom to get a bone density scan. Ugh. I'm wondering if a nap is in order (dawn's already out!)
3. I began to wrap up loose ends on nervousness today because I'm thinking about taking a break.

Hi all. Life is busy right now.
1. Guess who called me last night? Stephen! On his way through KC to St. Louis, he decided to ring me. We chatted for about 15 minutes, and he asked about the site and said hi to all of you. It was a little weird -- but only because he sounded exactly like my friend Toby.
2. I am getting way behind on some lmaos...i'm suprised no one's pissed at me yet. I plan on getting to work tonight and finishing up as many as I can.
3. I sent a very random polaroid picture to my pal eenie. It's of my kitchen table, where i was working on a lmao (True 20 Things Spirit) and making 20 of the same thing. It was a huge mess and i wanted to document it, and then i was like, "well who the #### am i gonna give this to?" *lightbulb* "Ah ha! I'll share my weird randomness with Eenie!"

Same here! I've listened tonight, last night, the night before...the last couple weeks I've gotten in the christmas spirit!
1. I made new stockings to hang on the fireplace yesterday for my sister, me, me, and Mom. Dad's a little harder to make one for since all the fabrics I have are girly. I made a couple extra ones which I'm planning on bringing to grandma and her roomie at the home.
2. I don't want to go to Japanese tonight. Why didn't we get the whole week off?!?
3. I got a book today to try to make a purse out of it.

Oooh, eenie, thanks for the cyber hug. And I'm aching to listen to christmas music too! I've allowed myself to listen to my celtic harp christmas CD, but i'm not going to start playing stuff with words until after thanksgiving.
1. i'm debating getting a real tree this year, trying to find a cheap fake one, or not getting a tree at all. i've set up a real tree for the past 2 years, but noone visits me so noone else sees it but me, and i don't know if it'll be worth it to set the whole shebang up and have to clean it all up ... if noone will even see it. oh what to do what to do.
2. i just got home at 10pm. i left the house at 7am. what a LONG day.

Hey, I was debating the same thing for similar reasons--no one wants to celebrate in my tiny 2-room apt even if I do put up a big, gorgeous tree. (The real problem is there is really no where to sit. lol!) A couple of weeks ago I was convinced NOT to do it. But now I think I will. I'm a sucker for christmas decorations. Send me a picture of yours and I'll send you one of mine and that way it won't be strictly for our own eyes only http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Whataya say?
1. A year and a half ago I went to a nutritionist to make up a customized diet plan because I was told my insurance covered it. Great plan, but I was stuck with a $200 bill when the insurance co. refused to pay. (Still bitter I guess). I bring it up because I recently went back on the plan in hopes of combatting those holiday pounds *sigh*
2. I only have one class on Wednesday and the professor cancelled it because, she said, it was ridiculous to have class the day before thanksgiving! Yahoo! Now that's an ideology I can embrace.

1. Every Christmas, my dad and I go and hunt down and cut our own Christmas tree, drag it back to the pickup and set it up. I freaking love it, especially since the last couple of years, my little sister Carrie (shes 5, I'm 19) has been coming along with us. She's started saying things like "Remember when I was a little girl and we went to get the tree with the broken branches?" Yea.. that was LAST YEAR. hahaha
2. My dad just got back from working 'up north' for 6 months. When I called tonight and talked to my little sister Carrie (who was joyously chanting Daddy, Daddy, Daddy!), she said that he brought her three barbies. I asked if Daddy had bought me some barbies too, and she said "No sissy, daddy bought you jewelry", to which my dad and stepmother in the background gave a resounding "CARRIE! NO!" hahahaha
3. Four weeks until I see my boyfriend again. I'm really not enjoying this long distance thing. We met on LIVEJOURNAL and then met in real life three weeks later, which was a month and a half ago.. and I'm completely head over heels over this guy. He lives about 5 hours away; 400 kilometres = too far.
*sigh*
4. I haven't been to any classes in 3.5 weeks.. everytime I even entertain the thought of going, I start to not be able to breath, my heart races, I start sweating, shaking and crying. I get the same reaction when I try to go to the doctor about it, and ultimately leave.

yay for holidays! i buy a tree every year and it's just for me. i get a small live one from the market for like $15 and i would throw a tree trimming party and we would make ornaments and watch movies. i'm not doing a big party this year, just a little get together with homemade goodies, cocoa and trimmings. last year, my kitten, witch baby loved the ornaments! who knew that pipe cleaners , feathers and plastic cowboys could be so appealing to a young kitty! http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif i woudl wake up in the morning with my bed full of ornaments. she would bring them to me while i was sleeping.
