2. I have a new addiction : metal tins.
i've been addicted to some french candies in a metal tin since i figured out i can't get the english ones i love so much. god i'm such a glutton. :)
-i'm sitting in the school library sucking down doctor pepper like it's water and eating candy like it's going to run away from me.
-fun fact i just found out by looking at the wall infront of me: Word processing is ONLY available in the Tutorial Center - room 211 and Computer Lab - room 2046
i didn't know that until now.
-i'm waiting for my history professor to put an assignment up on the class site so that i can get it finished and not have to wait until the end of the semester to be done with the class.

Noooooooooooooooooo! Oh Robyn I am so sorry. Being sick and still having to take care of someone else is just so discouraging.
I finished Harrison's scrapbook pages. I'm not sending them unless you promise not to post photos of them! I am scrapbook-challenged.
So far there have been no babysitter revenge attacks but I am not letting my guard down so soon.

1. You know those people who are so insanely stupid they put piping hot food, just taken out of the microwave or oven, in their mouth and burn themselves? Yeah, well, I'm one of them. I just burned my lip with a REALLY hot Pop Tart.
2. I want to move. Moving is fun. Where should I move to?
3. Seeing Joe's posts about school make me both nervous and anxious to go back to school. I really need to submit my FAFSA forms so I can hopefully get lots of financial aid. The thought of going back to school after being away for 5 years is terrifying.

Move to ENGLAND! Yay!
I am going square-eyed trying to layout some pages of tables at work today. It is the worst job in the office. It's my boss's idea of a leaving present I think. (For those playing along at home, I finish this job in 2.2 days!)
At lunchtime I bought a silver metal dog tag (round) which I had engraved with someone's name. I'm going to use it as a tag on a birthday present! The woman who engraved it thought I was weird because I only wanted a name, no contact phone number. She kept saying, "But what if your doggy runs away?! How will you find him?". In the end I told her the dog was chipped and the tag was just because dogs look cute with metal tags on their collars. I suppose the truth might have been easier but I was embarassed!

3: hugs to alison- hope you feel better soon!!! how long has this cold lasted anyhow???!!??
1 in reply... i think it was wednesday or thursday when i woke up with that distinctive "very dry throat", and suffered through that for two days, then on the morning of the third day woke up decidedly unwell. i forget how i felt on friday, but i know i'd started feeling pooey by saturday... i think it started friday. and it's wednesday now.
2 i am, however, feeling less pooey than yesterday, which was decidedly the worst day of this cold. i feel less sick, but still feel slightly 'hot' and very sinusy.
3 i have eaten some pineapple, coffee, 1 pc toast w/ strawberry jam, and some grapes thus far this morning.

-i want to go get me a handgun. i haven't shot a gun in so long i think i've forgotten how!

1 i'm trying to figure out who i caught the cold from... my mom says she's fought it off a few times recently (has managed not to actually get 'sick')... saw my sister last weekend/monday, and she had the sniffles... so it was probably her... might have been matt, but i don't recall him having the sniffles (i also saw him on monday last week).
2 mum made stir fry with the leftover chicken last night... soooo good. i think. LOL - i could slightly taste it, we used peanut satay sauce so it was kinda spicy...
3 i am CRAVING ice cream.

1. That would be the coolest! We could be neighbors Rosie! And I would be sure to bring some Peeps with me for you to try. :P
2. Though, I'm afraid to fly, so I would have to get over there on a boat. :P My boyfriend has actually mentioned wanting to move overseas someday, but I can't imagine him living anywhere other than the U.S. I don't think he is open minded enough to suddenly find himself in a place with a somewhat different culture. :(
3. I need to plant some flowers in my yard this Spring. I have been telling myself for the past few years that I was going to, but I never actually do it. I have bought many bulbs and seeds that have probably gone to waste :(

That would be ace! I wonder if I'll ever meet a non-UK Nervousness person? (apart from Alpaca that is!) Me & DH have been talking about going to Vancouver for ages - we still hope to go sometime this year - but isn't that on the opposite side of the continent to you Skate? (do you like that name by the way? It's how I think of you in my head!)
I'm wondering if we should all send Alison some vitamin C?! And Robyn too. Hope you both feel better soon.

1. I just had to check (my knowledge of Canadian geography is rusty!) and yes, Vancouver is unfortunately 47 hours away from where I live. Yikes! Well, if you fly over be sure to wave to me from the plane if you pass over NY. ;)
2. Skate. Hmm... I like that! B) Heheehe.
3. I have never been to Canada, and Montreal is only about 3 or 4 hours north. I really should take a weekend trip there someday.

1. I know a secret about this weekend.
2. None of you care, and I really want to tell someone, so here goes: The (Ex)Boy is coming to town late late late Friday night! Shhh! Don't tell.
3. Because he wants it to be a suprise. I'm really glad I'm not being suprised, though, because if I'm going to be up all Friday night, I need to get all of my Saturday work done by Friday afternoon.

Because it is from the movie 50 First Dates, and they want to pimp it.
I want to move to England too, although I can't decide if I would want a flat in London or a big house in the country. I watch so much BBC America that I am sure I would have no problem fitting in.
However I do not think Hubby would be able to work in his chosen proffession in England, as I do not know if they do a great deal of drag racing in Europe and have a huge need for high performance transmissions for American Muscle cars.

1. Some days it is a challenge to be an optimst.
2. I think I have more in my home "to Be filed" pile than will fit in my filing cabinets. This is a direct result of going back to school because 1) it eliminated filing time, and 2) it created mounds of paper that I really should just throw away, but might end up being useful. Really, I've gotten as far as sorting into piles with such titles as "Paid Bills" "Medical" "Investment Statements" "Work Stuff" "School" and the School stack is literally 5 inches tall.

2. Today I will edit my paper. I should print the damn thing and do it in hardcopy, as I always get lost when I read onscreen.
3. I got my income tax back! We're going out for dinner, and it's going to be someplace nice! Wait... we were already doing that. But I think I'm going to pay for the Boy, as I know he's broke and I am now far from broke.

The train again today. It looks kinda yucky outside, but I like kinda yucky. Means it will be cool out in Gilroy. In fact, I kind of like the rain too. I like teh sun also... I guess I just LIKE BEING OUTSIDE.
I have honey vanilla chamomile tea steeping- it's been that way for like... 10 minutes. I should go check it out. Mm. Honeytea.

2. Speaking of Richard Simmons, I need to lose some weight, but I'm not doing it by Sweatin' to the Oldies.
3. Instead I'm going to make a list of things I will allow myself to eat and I will try my best to stick to that list of foods, and now that the weather is getting warmer I must make the effort to take my dog for a walk EVERYDAY! Last night I did some situps and it wasn't so bad, so I think I will also get in the habit of doing some every night.
1. According to the radio the guy was an Ultimate Fighter who was doing some sort of promotion and saw Richard Simmons walk by. Who knows....
2. I Sweated to the Oldies once. I laughed off more weight than exerciesed off..
I need another Richard Simmons fact....

SPRING CLEANING TIME!
I'm putting up a flyer tomorrow at work to try to sell one of Gwen's old carseats.
Next week we are selling an old van we have and don't use since we got the newer one.
I have weeded through my books and will list them on Amazon.com.
I have opened a paypal acct and hope to be able to figure out how to sell on ebay
I have four nervous things to send out and my goal is to mail them on Monday.
I need to make some major changes in my life.
Not sure exactly what they are but when I figure it out there will not be a bunch of clutter around here to weigh me down.
I am glad Robyn And Alison are better!

2. art de toilette (http://www.artdetoilette.com/scale.html). Custom scales. Interesting. I think I should go home and decoupage my scale with cutouts of beautiful thin women to encourage myself to lose some weight..... and it would be fun to step on their perfect pretty faces too.

The Flu Diet thing made me think of a knit night conversation some friends and I had a year ago. I'd lost a bunch of weight thanks to acid reflux and another woman was talking about how breast-feeding is great for getting rid of pregnancy weight. Another friend of mine, who is in her 50s, said, "Great, so my effective weight loss options are heartburn or breastfeeding?" Maybe you had to be there, but it was pretty funny.
I had to go to a Chamber of Commerce meeting today. I was sort of offended becayse the speaker was talking about the downfall of the American industrial system being caused by too many students majoring in liberal arts because that's easier and not enough in the sciences. Harrumph. I wish now I'd walked out.

1. I don't think I'm ready to trade the Boy for a husband; he's still on his very best behaviour.
2. Plus, I'm not sure how many other people would want him... he's a little crazy.
Three Random Sub-Facts About The Boy
a) Any weather warmer the -5*C is shorts and sandles weather.
B) He knows nothing (officer, nothing at all) about how cars get hung from bridges... but dreams of the improvements a helecopter would make to the process.
c) He is a quasi-celebrity on campus, and everyone there calls him "Tank". This refers to both the fact the took care of the Engineering truck on year (the tank), and his ability to drink beer.
3. I never call him Tank, except if I'm talking to other Engineers who don't know his real name. There are quite a few.

1. I just spilled white-out (sorry.. i mean "LIQUID PAPER") on my pants, and my chair! Stupid me - I was holding the open bottle in one hand and the cap in the other and of course I had to use the hand with the bottle to move a paper, in doing this I tipped the bottle to the side and out glugged the nasty white stuff. Ick. I hate white-out. It smells like onions to me. peee-yoooouuu!!
2. I am wearing new shoes that I bought the other day! Weeeee!! I love new shoes.
3. I am hoping to go back to college (after 4 years) next spring. I work full time so I will be taking classes online, majoring in small business management. I'm nervous!
1. I am surprised. I joined N'ness July 16th, 2003 and didn't post in TRF for over 2 months after joining!! I guess I didn't know what I was missing at the time, now this is my favorite thread. :)

2. The vending machine at work is out of 1% & 2% milk and they did have whole milk (which I hate) but it was at it's due date/sell by date today so there was no way I was buying it. So....
3. Since the weather is BEEEEAAUUTIFUL today I decided I would use my half hour for lunch to go out to a gas station/convenience store to buy some milk. I get to Cumberland Farms where there is ONE small bottle of 1% milk left on the shelf. I grab it, look at it, sell by date: March 23!!! They didn't have any other white milk except for in large containers, so I buy a bottle of green tea and leave. I head down the street to Mobil, I go in and they have no milk at all!! Aghghghhhh!!! So, no cereal for me. I could have just gone home and eaten cereal and come back to work in the time I spent going to the two gas stations. Oh well.

bonus: i was a sort of groupie one summer, when i was 15 or 16- a saskatchewan band called big house... the guitar player supposedly 'liked' me... we all had a thing for the drummer though!!! :o we followed them around from venue to venue, a couple places in regina, yorkton.... sigh... fun stuff!!! :D

1. Hah! I hope you wouldn't be offended if I came to your house to eat your soup and did the same thing! Sounds like Julian and I have the same taste in veggies.
2. "if I came to your house to eat your soup" .... why does that sound so funny to me?? I think I'm getting slap-happy, as my mom would say.
3. Yay! Nymphette and I will travel around the world together as professional groupies! FUN! I'll be a groupie for any band (except for Country music bands) because concerts are usually fun no matter which band is playing :)

I'm kind of making beans. Crock pots rock.

It ought to be interesting trying to install the new one. Knowing me I will have to pee as soon as we take out the old one and then I will have to drive to the grocery store to use the potty.
2. Hey! You didn't say it had to be something new AND interesting.
3. Something else new? Hmm.... There is a dead stray cat buried in our backyard :( I came home from work one day last winter and there was a dead kitty in our yard. It didn't look injured so I think it might have died from being exposed to the elements since it was so damn cold out, either that or old age. I cried the whole rest of the day and my boyfriend and a friend of ours buried it in our yard. I made them wrap the kitty in a blanket and put it in a box before burying it.
Sorry. That was a sad fact :(

2. Unlike some of you, I WILL kill spiders in my house. It's MY house, after all. (Does this make me evil?) Plus, they sort of freak me out. Once had a baaad spidy bite which made me very sick on my 19th birthday. But if I see one outside I leave him alone. The house rule goes for centipedes and ants, too. But moths I'm careful to catch and let go outside. Don't know why.

1. So this is the first post I made to TRF way back in October of 2002--the day after this thread was started. Still all true. Well, I'm a little less obsessive about the pen thing now.

Clearly he needs training.
When I started dating my husband, he was an occasional coffee drinker with a wimpy little Mr. coffee Jr. that made about a cup and a half at a pop. A few months later he had a new coffee maker and a serious coffee habit.
Then I had to stop drinking coffee, which put a serious and painful crimp on his habit.

1. I am a packrat and proud of it!
2. I think in my last life I was Chinese. This is more of a sneaking suspicion than any great spiritual insight.
3. My artwork is becoming psychedelic and there is nothing I can do about it! :D

1. I have not taken a shower today and I feel grungy.
2. I decided to get some exercise this morning while I was a the laundromat. I loaded the washers then walked a few laps around the perimeter of the shopping center. I was enjoying the walk so I returned to the laundromat, put my clothes into dryers and then back outside for a couple more laps. When I returned I discovered that I had put quarters in the wrong machines--they were empty and whirring madly while my clothes sat in sad little wet heaps in the dryers above. I can't believe I didn't at least make sure the proper dryers were going before I left. And to make it worse, there witnesses to my foolishness. Lots of them.
3. Dinner is already in the crockpot. This makes me happy.

1. 2...it is going to be both fun and boring at the same time.
2. I went to Kmart today and in the seasonal department they had some really cute plastic/acrylic monkey plates, glasses, sipper cups and sports bottles by Joe Boxer.
2.5 I tried to find them at kmart.com so I could post a picture, but they did not have them there.
3. I went to the mall yesterday and they had special parking places for families only.
3.5 While at the mall I went to Johnny Rockets and they didn't have onion rings!!

I see Medeous in this thread and I hope she is going to post some advice
Today I was working in the yard and got dirt up my nose
Roadrunner had decided that we should not be allowed on the internet until after 5:00 p.m. This has been going on all week and Gwensdad didn't call about it. I called yesterday and they can't send anyone out until Friday.
Our new babysitter started last night and so far we really like her.
Gwensdad complains that I don't clean the house enough so I started a "cinderella journal". I will write down all the cleaning I do and shove it in his face next time he mentions it.

1 why does my dad think it's ok for him to walk in and change the channel without saying anything?
2 i wasn't yet watching anything specific (waiting for simpsons), it just annoys me that what anyone else is watching isn't important.
3 HE is the only one who has a television in his room and doesn't like it when i go in there to watch TV, but he monopolizes the one down here any time he likes too.

1 i wouldn't have been bothered if he'd said, do you mind if i change the channel, it's just that he picked up the remote and changed it without asking.
2 anyone else would get screamed at for that.
3 fine, i'll go upstairs!

My son and I took the horses out for a good long ride today! This was the first of the year and it was wonderful!!!
Yesterday I started spring cleaning. I started on the downstairs bathroom...threw out all the junk under the sink and in the cabinets that has accumulated and that I don't think I'll ever use...I scrubbed the walls and the floor...swept away the cobwebs in the corners...and as soon as I was finished, my greyhound promptly went in and peed on the floor!
I bought my son a new mountian bike yesterday. This is his first hand brake/gear shift bike!!!

1. I am a little more worried about school and a little less worried about everything else than I was earlier today.
2. It's a good thing to be scared a bit over school... it means I care.

2. i want to be skinny.
3. gwensmom asked for advice: although your husband may be taking the work you do for granted, i'm not sure shoving your cinderelly journal in his face is a good idea...not having a husband or a cinderelly journal, myself, i can't say this with 100% assurance of being correct, but perhaps you could have a chart with chores and whoever does them signs off on the chart and that way he can see what you've done, he can see what he hasn't done and it's not there to prove anything, just to ;) keep track ;) of what needs doing. it sounds like you two need some time together away from gwen...do you ever get any of that?

No we don't. And frankly, I'm at a point where I need to be away from both of them for awhile!
It's not that Gwensdad doesn't do work around the house. He does tons. He has way more energy than I do, he doesn't need as much sleep as I do and he doesn't have scoliosis and back pain like I do. Yet he expects me to keep up with him 100% and it's just impossible. I cannot make him understand this at all.
I am looking forward to seeing the next Harry Potter movie. I understand they have a new Gryffindor scarf pattern this time.

1: :P good for you sarah!!!! sometimes they need to see it written down in black and white!!!!!!!!!!
2: inspired by sarah's recent declutterizations, i did top to bottom overhauling on the kitchen today.... 7 bags of garbage out, and i now have EMPTY cupboard space!!! (mainly becuse i took that stupid wooden dishrack display thingy off my countertop and put the plates in the cupboard!!!! gak!!! displaying my dishes, how stupid is that when my kitchen has about 2 square metres of counterspace!!!!)
3: i started working on my kitchen at 9 a.m... counting when i drove into the city to walmart for an emergency storage container run, i have sat four times today (yes, twice in the car...) that woul dbe lunch and supper time..... oh.. i am such a liar!!! i just sat down here at the computer, so 5!!!
4: bonus, i am done the kitchen except for the table/nook area because i did a complete circle, shuffling everything ahead of me and everything without a spot that didn't head to the garbage (ie: pictures, art/craft supplies, etc) ended up at the table... tht will be dealt with tomorrow after i do something with THIS room here, so i have storage room again!!!!:O)
5: second bonus.... i missed everyone today!!! alllllll day without popping in... that's a first for me, being at home without at least checking up on the forums!!!

1. I'm probably moving to a new place at the end of April, which will lead to a general declutterization and throwing out/ donating to charity binge. It's been two years; it's time.
2. I don't want to do this week. Wake me when it's May.
3. I was up until 5 yesterday/this morning, so I didn't get up until 2, so I can't quite decide if I'm tired enough to sleep yet, but I have a midterm tomorrow and need to be on my mental toes. The moral of the story: one boy is a bad influence, two are twice as bad. ;)
