It is so odd to read and hear about snow when it is in the 80's here I am wearing shorts.

I was sitting here trying to solve my non-viewable picture issue when I heard a small 'crack' and the sound of plastic hitting the wall. I looked out in the living room and Megan's little cheapy resin chair I bought at the dollar store broke. The leg sheared right off.

Next she came in here and opened up my pencil sharpener and freed the shavings. She said something resembling "I have to clean it up" In 2 year-old speak. I told her "It's okay, I'll get the vaccum and clean it up". She looked at me and said "I go get the vaccum" and ran off. She came back with a potholder and a saucepan :)

It might, but I don't want to drive all that way by myself (it's 4.5 hours). Or I guess I could take the train. She makes me tired. It's easier to see her in a pair.

I'll invite her to come up here. She provides child care for her other grandchildren, so even though she is technically retired, she still has responsibilities. And is less willing to take a day off than we are!

Anyway. I'm at work now. I'm grumpy. And I got here late, so I should stay here late. Bleh.

One of the many things that makes me cranky is a flaky volunteer who doesn't show up one week and then shows up out of nowhere on a day when I'm not expecting him, then spends the whole time asking me questions. Would like to ask, "Don't you have to leave soon?"

No one will go to the beach with me this summer. :( Husband saving vacation days for when the baby comes, friend busy househunting. And me with a new blue gingham maternity swim suit.

It really irritates me that people I have known for years still get my name wrong, not just the pronunciation of it, but calling me TANYA! I don't want to embarrass them by constantly correcting them, but it makes me feel like I am not important enough to remember.

When I worked at a record store I had a subtitle under my name, on my name tag that read "But if it is close I'll still answer" because few people pronounce it correctly.

I don't know what prompted me to rant like this...

When I was about nine years old I was sitting at the kitchen table doing my homework. My brother came in to the kitchen, got a hostess cupcake out of the pantry, unwrapped and threw it away. He then stood there looking at the wrapper. He was so frustrated he didn't even get another one out of the pantry but just walked away. About twenty minutes later my mom came in and did the same thing.

I've often wondered if it was some prank or psychological test they were pulling on me, it was just too odd that they both did it.

...but they wouldn't have wasted their cherished cupcakes to pull something on me...

When I was six the tags on a new pair of pants were bugging me. So I cut them out, and cut a hole in the pants. To this day, my mother picks on me about it every time I pick up a pair of scissors in her presence.

Maybe that's why I can't cut straight.

Even with a paper cutter.

cheshire-cat

Uhm. Work was okay.
We're going to have to put down Oreo, our 22 year old half-apaloosa pony. His liver is failing and urinating blood clots. And no one wants to pay for him to get a new one when we barely make enough for the pony ride to sustain itself. That makes me sad, but if he's in pain and miserable with his life, all the better for him.

Uhm. Something happy- I made two Santharian wallpapers! So fun!

A Chocolate Coke is a coke with chocolate syrup in it like a Vanilla Coke. Curlita has been talking about going to Johnny Rockets for onion rings and Chocolate Cokes. :)

The clues to Eve and Reed's romance may have flown right over my head, but I remember a lot of the talk about food.

1. I have finished my Altered Paper Doll (http://img38.photobucket.com/albums/v117/tanagee/paperdoll.jpg) for whitequeen22's LMAO. The picture is kind of crappy though.

2. The weather here has been so beautiful we slept with our windows above our bed open.

3. Because of that fact: I slept very restlessly because my psychotic cat lady neighbor (she has graduated from crazy) and her husband were fighting & threatening to kill eachother. Then once I did fall asleep I woke up to my hubby on his knees on the bed looking out the window towards their house across the street, The cops were there! No one died, but I guess someone else in the neighborhood called the cops. Then at 4:30 am I heard her yelling again.

1. I have a crazy cat lady neighbor too! When my dog was a puppy the crazy cat lady would through pieces of meat into our backyard for Delilah! :o We kept finding pieces of salami and weird meat flung here and there in our yard near her fence so it must have been her. I guess she was just trying to be nice, but throwing meat into someone else's yard? That's just nuts.

2. I'm intrigued by this whole Cuilanie/Hammerquill thing. It's like a really good soap opera (that's kind of an oxymoron though, don't ya think? :P) I want to know all the details!! I'm so nosey.

3. Last week on my blog I had linked to an online store that sells asian candy. Well I went home from work early on Friday because I felt really sick and when I checked the mail there was a package from the website I had mentioned waiting for me! My boyfriend got me some candy as a surprise! Awww. He's so sweet & asian candy is yummy!

No, no, gwensmom, I did mean a chocolate coke. You can get them at Johnny Rockets (a chain) and other 1950's style diners, along with a vanilla, cherry, or lemon coke. It's coke with a couple shots of hershey's syrup in it. Not for everyone, but definitely for me! 1. Brian convinced me to turn the air-conditioning on last night. His logic was it was 90 degrees in te house and I was dizzy and nauseous. Mine was, "It's March!" He had the better arguement. We compromised and we turned it on but set it at 82 degrees.

2. I was freezing all night. I figured it was because we had moved the bed over "winter" (if you can call it winter) and the air was blowing right on me.

3. Turns out something went haywire with the AC and it was cooling it down to 64 degrees. I do not want to see my electricity bill.

1. I had a history class that was supposed to start on the 15th and I got a call on the 13th indicating that the class was cancelled. So, then as I was scrambling to find an alternative class (when even all the late starting classes have started) I was looking at my transcripts, and thinking something just doesn't fit.

2. I had stupidly trusted that my academic advisor was competent, and it turns out he told me I needed (ready for this) TWO more history classes than I needed, and FOUR more business classes than I needed in order to get my Teaching Certification in history and business.

3. So when I finish the History class I am currently taking, and the Secondary Methds course that starts in April, I will need to sit for the state exam, and do my student teaching, then I will have my Teaching Certification and be 2/3 of the way to my Master's Degree in Education. He also failed to tell me I was one credit, not one class, but one credit short from having enough EDU credits. I took a one day "Publisher for Teachers" class and made up that credit...

Bonus: When I took all of this to the Dean, he went to the advisor sat down with him, and went through my transcripts and made sure we were all on the same page, and then told me I need to continue to work with the advisor who 1) Completely steered me in the wrong direction and 2) Knows I complained about him. Peeps Peeps Peeps!

What is all this talk of Peeps?!

I'm sorry Alison is feeling like poo too. :(

1. littlest-bee; i've done a similar injury to myself with an exacto knife... with my index finger... (stop reading if squeamish) i was holding a ruler still, and my finger was stuck over the edge but i didn't notice. so i sliced the side of my finger. then, as it was healing about 2 weeks later, i went and did it again! to the same finger! the second cut was deeper too, it dripped a bit. but that was like, over 3 years ago. I hope your thumb gets better soon!

2. i want to make soup. not heat up a can of soup, but make soup. but i don't have the energy. so i will settle for heating up a can (ok so it's actually a carton, of the gardennay stuff).

3. before i do that, i will have a warm bath, more to help steam my sinuses than anything else.

1 thank you guys for your sympathy. i know it's just a cold, but we all know how yucky they are.

2 i want my freakin' mail!

3 one of the things i bought yesterday was a roll of ribbon, dark green background with snowmen. it was on clearance for 75 cents.

1. I think today I am just Peeps obsessed! I saw Peeps in a store last night and I almost bought some, but I stopped myself.

2. Next time I am in a store I'm buying some peeps dammit!!

3. Do they sell Peeps in other countries besides the US (and I assume Canada has them too).

Rosie, the peeps are here (http://www.marshmallowpeeps.com/). Be sure to check out the section about crafts you can do with peeps.

Alison, eat something really spicy. When Gwensdad and I get colds we eat hot and sour soup. It starts working after 2 bites.

It's only 10:30 here and I have already eaten the sandwich I brought for lunch.

1. They don't sell Peeps in this country (England). When I first read it on the boards I thought y'all are talking about people cos it's a sort of slang for it.

2. I just googled Peeps. Marshmallow eh? They look a bit weird. I'm not sure I get it and I daren't explore the website too much cos I'm at work.

3. Maybe I want some Peeps now. Or maybe Wine Gums?

Edited for spelling and to thank Gwensmom for kindly posting a link to Peeps for me!

1. Ooooh sorry Rosie, I can see why you would be confused since you are very right that "peeps" usually is slang for people, so my earlier posts about peeps probably didn't make much sense at all to you! I don't think I want to eat purple bunny people though

2. Now I'm thinking about Easter. And candy. Jelly beans! Oooh. I am a jelly bean snob though. I only like jelly belly or similar "gourmet" jelly beans.

3. I remember one Easter when I was probably 6 or 7 years old, I went with my mom and my dad and my sister to a pond nearby just to walk around I guess. I was wearing a shoestring in my hair. The shoelace was actually made of real lace, and I thought it looked much better tied in a bow on top of my head rather than laced in my shoes. I was such a strange kid.

some more facts for Rosie:

Peeps look a lot better than they taste.

I can't eat them at all, but find them fun to play with.

This (http://www.peepresearch.org) is a funny site about peeps

1: baby up until 4 a.m. throwing up off and on

2: which means me up till 4 a.m... luckily not throwing up

3: diarrhea this morning... harrison, not me... hospital at 7 a.m.

4: useless lab who had to come not once, not twice, but three times to get all the blood they needed... because the 'forgot' some and didn't do it properly

5: harrison on no protein since 2 a.m. but now is to be on pedialyte

6: dietician on holidays until tomorrow morning.... nobody to help with what to feed, or how many calories over the pedialyte he should have

7: husband with an attitude because i expected him to help me out with all this at some point while he was not in bed snoring and resting peacefully.. which would basically be while we were at the hospital

8: me, mega bi%ch because of husband's attitude when he had absolutely no reason to have an attitude... it isnt' as if he had been up all night long cleaning beds and babies and laundry because of lack of bedding and cloths

9: i am done my whining.... move along, nothing more to see.... this being said, i am going to lay on the couch and sleep... well, after i feed julian and get him to bed and get harrison chnged and hooked up to his feeding pump again... did you know they make unflavored pedialyte??? yeah, grape would be kind of wasted on harrison

-i was excited to hear that i was in the system for possible government jobs since i figured me cracking jokes at my interview screwed me out of a job.
-when i get the choice i'm taking one of the jobs i am offered. i really need a job. i was going to do summer classes but i decided money is better.

Hugs to nymphette and Harrison after an awful night, and hugs to Rosie and her wounded finger.

I feel more fat and flabby than pregnant and I really should not be showing at 12 weeks and I've already gained the same amount as Julie who is two months ahead of me. :( I like food too much.

I'm not motivated to do much work today, in part because I was here yesterday. Maybe I need to go get a decaf latte.

2. or eat a doughnut

3. Or do both (as I am) :yay:

sarahkate

1. Mmmm... donuts.

2. My boyfriend is going out of town for work tomorrow. He will be gone either one or two nights. Staying home alone is scary, though I seem to be more productive when he isn't around so maybe this is a good thing.

3. I really should take inventory of all the stuff I have at home that I don't want so I can trade with people here who might want my junk :) I love trading.

I just looked at the belly gallery at About.com and feel better. Maybe it is baby, not snicky snacks.

There is still no excuse for the three egg rolls I ate yesterday.

Hmmm, I really should do some work now that I have cleaned out my e-mail box.

1. Perish the thought! I actually had a sonogram at 8 weeks because I freaked and out and was certain that something was Terribly Wrong, and there was only one Bean. Twins run in both our families, though.

2. There is nothing quite like a peep. Something about that combination of grainy sugar on the outside and mushy fluff on the inside.

3. My favorite Easter candy are those Cadbury Cream eggs. They make chocolate cream filled ones now, which aren't made to look like yolk and white. They are tastier, and more attractive.

Cadbury... *drools* The cream eggs are utterly delicious. They have the cream, the Caramel and the choclate! and then there's the sugarshelled mini-eggs! Ak! I want sugar so bad! cannot! * notes she has a stash!*

I would love to meet up. Hm. Where though? Somehwere we can all get tother at.
Well- I'm thinking Union Square in SF cause the City doesn't like cars so much. And Reed and Even can use the Bart and get off at Powell! And it's downtown! We could go to the cheesecake factory and go to artstores and just be all artsy-nervy with each other! AK! THE MOMA! * daydreams*

Ak. My mango! Yumm.

I like peeps best when they are slighly stale, same with red vines.

When I was pregnant with Megan I gained 30 pounds in the first 3 months, the doctor was scolding me. However, from then on I gained nothing until the last month, then 2-5 pounds.

With all the Peeps talk I am going to post the Lord of the Peeps (http://www.lordofthepeeps.com) website again.

Thanks, Tana, that is comforting... my knees and feet already hurt and I really worry what might happen to them if things keep going at this pace. It's so hard to get around the damn societal pressure to be thin (something I've never been) even while pregnant! Death to the Beauty Myth!

Thanks for posting the Lord of the Peeps too! My husband will appreciate that.

Gwensmom, I second bluecrayon. Hope you're okay. Maybe you need a peep?
