Good afternoon everyone!
It's 12.23pm here and my tummy is rumbling because I'm thinking about lunch!
I find it weird to think that you folk on the other side of the Atlantic are just starting to wake up, I'm halfway through my day, and someone like Cyph0r is finishing her day. It makes my simple brain hurt!

2. I love nick's X-box more than Nick does, and I'm giving him the cash to pay for it as a late Xmas present.
3. I think I might want to get rid of my gamecube, but am not sure. I only play 2 games on it (Animal Crossing and Universal Studios) but I rarely play them.

1 my dad listens to classic FM on his computer (which is a UK radio station), so when their 'relaxing classics at two' program is on, it's like 9 in the morning here.
2 i ordered fibres online yesterday.
3 bookcrossing is offering a free book right now, for the first time ever. some publishing company giving away advance copies. (course, you gotta be a member of BC to get one).

1 i need to get some "work" done so i can then take it and have copies made.
2 i am being sent (by a charity i've been in touch with lately) a bag of green ribbons (april/earth month green ribbon campaign).
3 i hate it when people drop off LMAOs currently in progress (of whatever type) and don't tell me. i understand people needing to drop things sometimes, but please, tell me.

2. I listen to Radio 2 which has a reputation of being an old farts' station (although it is aparently getting hipper). I don't care though, I love all the music they play.
3. I got my very own radio when I was 8, it's how I discovered music and the reason why my musical tastes are so varied I think. The day the radio broke I was actually very upset too.

2 i have found myself really getting irritated with commercial/tv show jingle/music things the last few days (more than usual).

I'm wondering if I should give negative feedback to someone who is going to be over a month late in their obligations and shouldn't have signed up for something in the first place
I'm thinking I expect too much from LMAOs when I expect people to adhere to timelines
Maybe I'm crazy
freckledcutie
03-12-2004, 07:52 AM
I think I'm still relatively new so I don't know what to expect
I worry that if I give someone negative feedback then they will give it to me, too, even though I didn't have any obligation to them as it was to someone below me that I sent to
Why do I worry so much...maybe I should just stop participating in that part of the board...it's like, I am reliable and I want to sign up for the stuff that requires high feedback but because I'm pretty new, I don't have much feedback

freckledcutie -- I think people's reactions to negative fb are contingent upon how it's given -- I have a negative fb point -- I have been late with lots of stuff because of a severe depression I fell into which left me unable to focus on anything -- things piled up around me and I am working my way through it now, a little at a time. the person who gave me my negative fb point was so nice about it, so apologetic and willing to change it back once I accomplish the project -- there is no way I would retaliate for this.
It's hard to know what causes people to slow down...
I just got a letter from someone who has held on to one of my projects for about 4 months -- she is also in a state of severe depression -- I cannot find it in myself to leave her a negative fb point when she is being so honest with me.
I feel like maybe this is a topic for the rants and rave page??? Where it never seems to totally disappear!

1 in freckledcutie's place, i would consider not only that they were late, but if they were communicative, and seemed genuine about their reasons... i would lean toward a neutral if it was indeed completed eventually, and they did communicate, and they had good reason (and seemed to be telling the truth about said reason) for being delayed. but if they were late, lousy at communication, and didn't really seem to care/have a good believable reason and just seemed indifferent about it, then i'd lean toward giving a negative. but that's just me.
2 i'm torn between two things i want to work on today.
3 i was sitting here thinking of a third thing to say, and i now have one: whilst sitting here thinking, a drop of yogurt fell off my spoon and onto my shirt.

1. Don't send me any viriuses. My anti-virus subscription expired. Brian bought me a new one and it is in the box on my desk. Starying at me. Waiting to be installed. It would take five minutes...why have I let it sit there for a week.
2. I am not supposed to be a procrastinator.
3. Speaking of that, i need to go harass GWLS. Brian was picking on me because he was going through the Box-o-cards I have given him over the years, and there were to-dos in the middle of love notes. "You are my sunshine, you mean the world to me, did you make your appointment for the dentist?" So I had to tell him about GWLS asking for someone to remind her to do things. He shook his head and said, "You found your calling didn't you?"

1. For freckled cutie....I think the reason some of us feel bad leaving negative feedback for slow/late nervousers, is that it seems to be Nervously socially acceptable to run late and behind. But, some of us see that as irresponsible and inconsiderate of everyone else involved in the LMAO.
2. Still, we can all recognize that people get excited and sign up for too much. They have to find a way out of those messes though. Asking to be skipped, removed, or asking an evil micromanager to step in and harrass you into getting back on target are all viable options.
3. Anyway, as you can see from the LMAOs that I set up, I stress from the get-go that time management/on-time and the like are all very important to me. Since participants know this up front, I feel comfortable leaving neutral or negative feedback GUILT-FREE because they knew how I felt about it up front.
Edited because I typed "or" instead of "are" AND "no" instead of "know" and I was top of my graduating class-- argh!

Running just as fast as we cannnn
Holdin' on to one another's hannnnd
Tryin' to get away into the niiiight
And then you put your arms around me
And we tumble to the ground
And then you say
I think we're aloooone now

I think we're alooone now
The beating of our hearts is the o-o-nly so-o-ound
3. And for Nicole:
In touch with the ground
I'm on the hunt I'm after youuuuu
Scent and a sound, I'm lost and I'm foooound
And I'm hung-ry like the wolf
Strut on a line, it's discord and rhyme
I howl and I whine, I'm after youuuuuu
Mouth is alive, all running inside
And I'm hung-ry like the wolf
Hungry like the woooolf
Hungry like the woooolf
Hungry like the woooooooolf

2. Yay Yay. I get to go home in an hour. Then I will go home, Cory will hop in my car with me and we will zoom off to Subway because we don't feel like cooking and then we might rent some movies and go home so I can eat my wonderful sub.
3. Cory said he loves when we go to Subway because we get to play the "who made your sub game" which we invented recently. See, I hate going in and ordering my own sub (don't ask why, I'm just a shy weirdo & that's all I will say about that) so he goes in and gets our subs and when we get home I get to guess if a guy or girl made my sub when I open it up. I have a theory that girls make much better subs than boys. A female made sub is usually much neater, and arranged better, and has more stuff on it. Subs made by boys are usually sloppy, arranged in a stupid order, and they are almost always skimpy on the russian dressing! :P

1. I can't wait to have my sub. It's the weirdest sub ever. I get a chicken breast sub on italian bread with american cheese, russian dressing, pickles, and lettuce. When I get home I usually take a bite of the chicken and then pull it all off, along with most of the lettuce and throw those out. So you ask, why sarahkate, do you get a sub with chicken and lettuce on it if you don't really eat them? Well, see I used to eat the chicken but decided I didn't like it much so I get the chicken anyway because it (usually) melts the cheese perfectly, and the lettuce I don't like lettuce too much but I keep a little bit on for texture.
2. Yup, I'm crazy, but it makes me happy so that's all that matters. I do feel bad about wasting chicken though, so sometimes I feed it to my dog or the cats.
3. I hope I don't get carpal tunnel. Sometimes I freak out thinking I have it because I will get these pains starting in my fingers and shooting up into my elbow.

2. Advertising got to me. I have never had a "nutrition bar" because they always have things like soy or tofu or other non-edible things. (Yes, non-edible is a matter of opinion)...but I decided to try the Snicker's Marathon. It's not a Snickers, but it isn't bad.
3. Bad hair day in progress.

When I'm with you baby, I go out of my head
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
All the things you do to me and everything you said
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
We slip and slide as we fall in love
And I just can't seem to get enough
We walk together, we're walking down the street
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
Every time I think of you I know we have to meet
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
It's getting hotter, it's our burning love
And I just can't seem to get enough
And when it rains, you're shining down for me
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
Just like a rainbow you know you set me free
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
You're like an angel and you give me your love
And I just can't seem to get enough

- I was remarkably productive today - got my hair cut, my legs waxed (yes, I have them done... don't like using a razor, and I can't get myself to pull on the stupid strips because I know it's going to hurt... Besides, it's nice to have someone else to do the back of the leg... ;) ), I went and changed the CAD from Christmas I'd been lugging around ever since (got a better deal than I would have in January, though!), and I actually went grocery shopping on my way home. And I'm actually heading back out to the other grocery store - the Asian one - to get stuff I can't find at the first one.
- Mail today... an envelope I wasn't expecting until Monday!!! :D Sometimes I really don't understand the inner workings of this country's postal service... <_<
- Now all I have left to do is vacuum the apartment and do the laundry, and I'm home free. Oh, I should probably go to the drugstore too, get some extra vitamin C. I'm afraid I'm coming down with a bug, and that's just about the last thing I want right now...

:) French dressing is the easiest thing in the world to make... Three tbsp of your favourite type of oil, one of wine vinegar, salt, pepper, a pinch of sugar, half a tsp of Dijon mustard. Dilute the mustard in the vinegar, mix well with the oil. This is enough for one salad, but you can make a larger batch in a glass jar with a tight lid, and just shake the jar to mix everything... :)
:) I in turn wish I could go rock climbing with cb... :)

oh yah... mum makes (ok technically i can make it too) almost the same thing... we add honey, rather than sugar... or substitute the honey for garlic (better in a larger batch, otherwise you run the danger of using too much garlic for one serving)... :) yumyumyumyumyum
we almost never have any other kind of dressing in the house, except caesar.
sometimes we get italian, but that gets used for marinading chicken breasts more than it gets used in salad.

The first time I met my sister-in-law was the day she got married to my brother and she shocked me a little because she wanted to say "obey" when she got married. Insisted, even. But the lady doing the ceremony at the quickie wedding chapel here in Reno refused to make "obey" part of the vow. My sis-in-law was maaaad. I am totally beat. Tired to the bone. If I close my eyes, I could fall asleep right here at the computer.
I'm seriously thinking about skipping church tomorrow morning, just so that I could sleep in. Of course...I WOULDNT sleep in (I never can, no matter what! ) so what's the point of skipping. I'd just feel guilty all day.
My girlfriend borrowed the movie Matilda and called to tell me that she thought that it was horrible!!!! I can't believe it! It's one of my favorite movies!
*Oh....and this is freaky.....earlier today, i had a song stuck in my head...and my son came walking into the kitchen SINGING it! Weeeirrrddddd!

Hey, I had cheerios for dinner. Delicious.
1. I need to go food shopping but I won't allow myself to go without a list, and I won't allow myself to make a list without first making a menu because I'm trying not to waste a lot of food, i.e. money.
2. Anatomy of my day so far: I've spent 1 1/2 hours online, 2 hours and 15 minutes cleaning house, 2 hours at the laundrymat, 1 hour shopping for yarn and knitting needles, 1 hour actually knitting, 45 minutes trying to improve my Excel skills, 1/2 hour eating, and 45 minutes getting ready to go out. In an hour I'll be off to the movies.
3. Nothing has tasted good for two days because I've been sucking on zinc lozenges, but it worked! My sore throat and cough evaporated before they had a chance to take hold and make me miserable. :)

I liked The Lovely Bones, but then I do like to read some morbid stuff. I do admit, it was slightly strange at parts. It was an interesting point of view to be written from.
I just spent 1/2 an hour trying to find where nymphete lives on my atlas. I found the wonky/crypt city but couldn't find hers.
Megan just came in to the office, pointed at one of her art projects from pre-pre school and said "Megan do"
I asked her if she wanted to share some ice cream with me or have some more of the big cookie I bought her and she said "yes" and ran off. I guess it is my choice.

Honestly, even though people tend the hate the "Tell me about yourself" question I like it because 1. It lets me what is important to the person I am interviewing 2. It gives them some time to sink into the interview and relax.
...but....when I interviewed the woman who started talking about witchcraft and opening a pagan shop when I asked the question...that was a bad thing...
I am fine with that lifestyle, but if that is the first thing she thinks to talk about, and I am interviewing for a receptionist position, I don't want that to be the small talk that she starts into with the clients (who at the time were all people living in a retirement community, not the right auidence for such discussions)

2. On Saturday I went to the mall with my mom & my sister. I was wearing a skirt that I bought when I went shopping with them last weekend. This was the first time I had worn the skirt. I didn't realize until it was too late (too late being when I was already walking into the mall) that the skirt, which ends just above my kneecaps, creeps up my legs because it sticks to my tights. Every 2 seconds I had to reach down and yank the front of the skirt back down because otherwise it would have crept up so far people would have known what color underwear I had on under my black tights :P
3. I decided that there was no way I could spend the next few hours walking around the mall yanking my skirt down every 2 seconds so I found a jean skirt in Lerner that also ended above my kneecaps, but it didn't ride up like the other skirt. My mom was so sweet and insisted on buying it for me! Woohoo!! Free jean skirt!

So now I don't know what to do and I have to decide soon so I can apply for financial aid before it is all gobbled up! Eeeep!

2. I must not forget to meet chick who needs roommate. I hate to think about moving... but we'll see how nice this place/person is.
3. I feel a bit like I'm spinning lazily through my ordinary life... everything looks better when it's a bit blurred around the edges.

from thursday to late last night, I was suffering from hives. I don't know why or how, all I knew was that massive blotches kept popping up and itching like mad.
But they're gone now. Thank gods.
I should water the outside plants and mop the floor like Gloria asked. That would be very nice of me. Oo. Maybe I should have some ice cream first... mm.
I think we may take the motorcycle to Gilroy today. That sounds fun. Do you think I can convince Rudy to go to wendy's? Oo. Baked Po-tay-toe.

Megan has lost my car keys.
I stopped at the house for a minute after the park to make my hubby a lunch and package up the plate I am sending Alison. I was checking my voice mail and out of the corner of my eye I saw her playing with them, pretending she was unlocking the front door...now they are gone.
So since I couldn't/can't find them; Hubby is lunchless, I can't mail off my packages to Alison and Cyptaesia and my car is parked in front of the house with the windows wide open and unlocked.
Off to look for my keys...must think like a 2 year-old...

I worked an 8-hour day for the first time since before Gwen was born.
I kind of liked it because I had plenty of time to get things done and I didn't have to run around in a frenzied panic.
I get to do it for the rest of the week too!

I saw three "creepy" people today...you know...the kind of person that you look at and you JUST know that they are insane...or evil...or deviate. The kind of person who, when they look at you, sends a chill up your spine.
I sent a surprise to a N'nesser..... :thewave:
I made sloppy joes for dinner. Every time I have them, all I can think of is that scene in the Adam Sandler movie, Billy Madison, where the lunch lady is serving up sloppy joes and says "I knows how you kids likes them eeexxxtra shloppy"....

1. One of my house mates just started to sing again... <_< It's not that I don't like singing it's just that he pulls out his keyboard, amp and microphone to do this. It seems a little ridiculous, especially during finals week when people are studying.
2. My friend just told me I'm one of his favorite people  That makes me happy.
3. I have an Italian final in 2 hours :o In bocu di lupo...

1. My interview went . . . well, it went. I don't think on my feet as well as I'd like. And I definitely get nervous and stammer a bit. Grr. I would really love to have the interview questions in advance and then give a well thought out, eloquent written response. Why doesn't the world work that way?
2. I can't wait to get home and wash this makeup off my face.
3. They didn't ask me the "tell me a little about yourself," question but while I stammered and spun around in my mind looking for words and the shortest possible distance between my thoughts and my lips, they did ask me to talk about a time when I used my verbal skills to communicate important information. Ha.

1. Bugitha can call me and I can ask her all kinds of interview questions. It is always good to practive even though it feels cheesy.
2. And...you should always know something about the company before you go in. Do a little research. Make them feel like you are interested in them and not just the paycheck.
3. Ask the interviewer why they think it is a good place to work.

I feel out of touch with the forums today.
I've made 9 atcs in the last 24 hours which is a definite record for me.
