2. I'm jealous of grace's hippie childhood. If I could have chosen my childhood that would have been it.

3. I was sick earlier, I ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and now I'm not. (I'm already horrified about what the scale might say to me tomorrow so I decided to not weigh myself for awhile and just go with how I feel and the changes I see. I think I know my body well enough.)

- I feel for Dalmaney's confusing situation... I think the most important thing is knowing what you want. Then you can deal with events as they come instead of worrying in advance.

1. I have officially hit the gossip circuit of my friends... I'm not sure how I feel about the cracks about my "chauffeur".

2. I spent the afternoon drinking coffee at a bookstore listening to my friend's band play. I love his music sooo much and haven't heard him play in a very long time.

3. I think I know what I want... and I think I mostly need some patience and time.

2. There's been a party in my belly all day! The baby is kicking like crazy - I think he's going to be a soccer player. I love it! :)

3. Nicolas just called me and guess what he'll do on his way back from work? Bring me some greek food!!! Yay!

1. I watched the whole cheese monkey spectacle from the sidelines and found it amusing, but today I had reason to talk about it. I was on the phone with a friend and we were talking about cheese and how pretty much anything with cheese on it is good. Then she said, "Its like my monkey theory. . . anything with a monkey in it is funny." And I busted up laughing because I guess cheese and monkeys really do go together.

2. I have jumped on the knitting bandwagon.

My twin sister is an art teacher and exremely talented in that area. She puts me to shame. Well, actually...I think a chimpanzee would probably put me to shame when it came to art.

But I AM really good at math and science...not that that's going to help. I want to be able to create something special to send to Robyn for Harrison's fundraiser...and I just can't figure out what to do. Any ideas?

.. my boyfriend (who was the lovely person who took me home) doesn't drink and I was also upset because I thought he would be disapproving of my drunken behaviour. He wasn't though, he thought it was funny and he was very sweet about the whole thing.

... I got a mean spinny hangover and spent Sunday in bed being grey and shakey.

2: i have been mega dizzy and nauseous since the day we left toronto.. the plane ride was hell, i felt so sick and dizzy and nauseous, and i was overheating because stupid me wore a peasant blouse instead of the usual tank top that is my uniform.... and since we got home i have been run down feeling, and having horrible headaches, and been dizzy and nauseous.... i was dizzy the week before we left, but nothing like this!!!

3: i totally forgot, until we were in the hospital at toronto, about the whole SARS scare thing there!!!!:O we are all fine though, so far, so i guess it's alll good....

4: bonus: i think i spelled nauseous wrong.. it looks wrong... nauseated would have been the right word anyhow and is easier to spell... however, i would rather add this information in another fact than go back and change my misspelled word.... ;)

Having a baby will cure you of this curlita!

I want to know about the re-enactors that are coming to Medeous's school. The only kid of re-enactment we have around here is civil war battles.

The baby I made the blanket for came two weeks early at 4:56 this morning. I finished that blanket just in time!

1: anyone having a baby two weeks early makes me wistful.. i was overdue on both my boys!!! :o

2: i really (and i mean REALLY) enjoyed being pregnant... i was in my best health and happiness while i was pregnant, even with julian and all the different problems i had....

3: with me: problem pregnancy= perfectly healthy child.... textbook pregnancy= scary months in NICU and metabolic disorder... you just never know what will happen... that's why i say that you need to enjoy everything as it happens!!!!!!!! both of my boys are worth every minute of worry i ever had, pre or post delivery...

4: although, one of us (julian and i) are NOT going to make it through the trying threes... and i am bigger than he is, so that will give you a clue s to who's going to survive...... :spank:  :'(

I just got back from a lovely lunch with a tasty salad. It had swiss cheese and lots of other yummy things on it, and reminded me of the salads I ate while we were in Paris.

It's nice out here in the City. Me, MeiMei and Jason had lunch in Union Square- soaking up the sun and conversing about all sorts of things. A touch too warm, but better than being too cold, personally.

I so want to do nervousness work, but have to paint tomorrow, and I fear it will take most of my day. Maybe I can sneak in some ATCs. That would be nice.

Oh, and books too. I need to make some books. for The Sale. Hee, now I can use that in proper context, with the Purple and everything!

LOL! It is a relief when stuff is closed so you have an excuse not to make phone calls.

I have several I have been putting off

Well, now I am going crazy wondering what Cuilanie is counting down to. It must be something wonderful!

I loved Holly Hobby

She was my best friend...I was a HH paper doll freak

I also loved holly hobby.

My friend was such a fan that she once bewildered her mother by asking her to buy her the Bible she saw in a bookstore. Turns out she misread "Holy" as in Bible as "Holly" as in Hobby, and thought it was a book about her.

I still have a Holly Hobbie's Nursery Rhymes book I've had since I was about five.

I never thought to ask this question! Maybe I should have -- I just knocked off 2 smallish paintings that are kind of child oriented (for a kid's room, I'm thinking) and am just about to send them out. They are a dog pair and go together...

1: my mom has painted two small canvases for the sale - one is a picture of two horses, and the other an asian floral still life.... so i think that anything goes- any theme, any medium, and kind of art, craft, handmade goodness!!!

2: i got freckledcutie's necklaces today, they are so gorgeous!!! wow, i have to buy one for myself!!! anyone who hasn't seen them, take a look at the picture earlier on in this thread... which i still can't see... but it's all good, i got 'em right here to oooh and aaah over!!!

3: chris bought a cheapie digital camera, pretty well only good to uplink pics online... which is all i wanted one for!!! so pictures will be coming, i think i'll take pictures of all the stuff we have made already, samples at least... and all the goodies sent to us!!!

4: bonus: my aunt and uncle want to put on a fundraising 'family dance' in qu'appelle, the town my mom lives in- they play guitar/bass and sing together, they used to tour sask and alberta... my uncle has actually sold songs that he's written to some country nashville star of some sort... i can't for the life of me remember what song it is though.. :( bad niece... anyhow, dance, live entertainment, raising money for us!!! yay!!! what a family i have... and all you wonderful online friends... and, credit where it is due, to leslie, one of my old friends that i dont' really hang around with a lot- she's the one who's organizing the steak night!!!

You can go to the library, or the bookstore. You can hope that some random bookcrosser (http://www.bookcrossing.com) just happened to leave one where you might find it (join bookcrossing: make the whole world a library of serendipity!), you can post random book cravings on a strange, randomly kind place like nervousness and see if someone sends you one, or you can bind (and for that matter, write) your own.

weird Bart Ride. I saw Josh.
Josh and I were best friends in HighSchool but departed ways due to his wicked girlfriend ( who I understand is ACTUALLY turning tricks. She may as well be a cockroach.) I haven't spoken to Josh in about four years. We talked for about a minute, babbling and quipping as if nothing ever changed. Then parted ways.

Maybe someday, with planning and work, Josh and I can be friends again. There's no sense of dislike between us- our lives just took different directions.

I should go to bed. Yeppers. And Wonky- I have exchanges set up at my page for handmade books.

- I was crying today too - tears of frustration - my boss just doesn't know what she wants... either I take too much time to think about my work (to, you know, do a good job?), or I went too fast and made mistakes... then there's the overtime issue - she tells me she doesn't want me to do overtime (cuz she can't pay for it...) but I should somehow find time to do everything within normal working hours when she's a control freak who needs to vet everything before it goes out, changes things constantly, and completely underestimates the time things take...

Attachment to material things just sets one up for disappointment...

my car was a clunker from the start...

I don't really miss it -- it's just annoying as heck having to deal with the insurance and the police reports and all that stuff....

I'm thinking of this as one of those random and arbitrary "taxes" we have to pay to live... :)

- I woke up to the joys of political debate when I moved to France... one thing that can be said about Canadian politics, is that they're kind of boring. ;)

- I'm increasingly miffed about not having the right to vote here... I live here, I pay taxes, the government's decisions affect me, shouldn't I have a say? Even if I'm not a citizen?

- I've stayed up way too late reading that thread... I've decided not to post, because misuse of religion in politics gets me way too worked up. And I have to sleep soon.

Bonus, since it's past midnight... 9 :D

1. I went and read the thread... and I do care about the religious side, but still don't care about the politics enough to learn how the American system works. Our way is just so much simpler... no one cares about Saskatchewan, but there really aren't many of us, so I can't really blame 'em. :canada:

2. I'm contemplating starting a slam thread about Christianity. I'm so curious as to what the word means to people. It seems to mean alot of things to other people it doesn't mean to me at all.

3. (And please, don't take this the wrong way, ie. as an attack against anyone here) I am still working out what I believe about the whole homosexual/sin issue... I need some more time and more conversation. It's been interesting watching my roomie deal with her family the past few months...

1. The religion-and-politics thread (though that's not how it started) got my day off to the unusual start of looking up things in the Bible, and considering possible responses to the different parts of the thread, from different intellectual and especially historical points of view.

2. By the time I got home certain of the responses on the thread - not uncivil in themselves - made me doubt my ability to frame a civil response.

1: harrison will be officially listed on the cadaveric organ list as of tomorrow morning, as soon as chris hears back from the kinsmen foundation as to whether we are for SURE approved for another grant... the tranplant teams needs "secured travel arrangements" before they will list, so we have to know 100% that they will pay for the air ambulance when we get 'the call'.... there should be no problem with this, but i am still very anxious.... well, about everything.. this is just one more step closer to tx... and i still have my reservations as to if it is the right thing.. i mean, i know it is, but... you know???

2: julian and i were playing with his hot wheels cars and car wash... i aske dhim 'wht do you want to me when you grow up???' and he said 'daddy'... i laughed and said 'you want to be a daddy??? that's it???' and he said 'julian be batman, at grow up'... and i said 'well, is batman a real person???' and he said 'no, batman a real MAN'... and i said 'oh.. so you wnt to be batman... what else???' and he said 'julian be ambulance driver, julian grow up...' and i said 'wow, that's cool!!! do you know what an ambulance driver is called??? a paramedic' and he said 'bear mana?' and i said 'pair- a- med- ick'... and he said 'no, real hard say bear mana... julian be car wash guy'.... i laughed so hard... he's so funny some times.. :)

3: i called canada post to complain about his meds not being dropped off here.. and they are sending someone in 1/2 an hour... the lady was a total bitch, i told her i was at home, all day yesterday, waiting for them to be delivered... she said 'they'll bring it by at 5:30.. make sure you are listening for your door'... WTF?? excuse me lady, but i was sitting in the living roon, not fifteen feet FROM the door at the time they had written on the tag, that they supposedly banged on my door!!!!! AAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! people make me so mad... why do i ever even leave the house i wonder.....

I need my own country, I guess!

Already know what color my flag would be...

No republicans, democrats, independents, greens, communists, people's party people, marxists, atheists, Christian right wingers, Christian left wingers, Jews for Jesus, Jews without Jesus, moral majority types, fringe radicals -- would be allowed into my country. Only people without borders... ;)

There was a surveyor working on the construction site today whose REAL NAME was ELVIS! I stupidly asked him why they (the other guys) were calling him Elvis and he said, "because it's my name." Duh! I'm such an idiot.

Zinny (the horse) broke a piece of fence and got up in the woods a little bit ago. My son and I had a heck of a time getting her back. I feel like I'm covered in ticks now!

Sometimes I dress up a little, with skirts & tights, so today I just feel like a major slob.

There are some guys about a mile down the road from my house wearing Haz-Mat suits digging along the side of the road. I wonder what in the world it could be? A dead body? Toxic waste? Somebody's septic system REALLY backed up and overflowing? Hmmmm....I'm going to go down and ask.

I'm taking my Mom, Gram and Twin Sis out to a very nice Japanese restaraunt this Friday. Yum! I can't wait.

And......JEHOVA'S WITNESSES just now came to my door AGAIN!!!! What the heck! They stop here like every other week. My black dog almost bit one as he handed his copy of "The Watchtower" through the door.

***hmmmm...maybe it's the body of a JEHOVE'A WITNESS that those Haz-Mat guys are digging up down there. These guys are notorious around this area!

1. When I was a teenager (like maybe 15 or 16) this group of Jehovah's witnesses would come to my door to "visit" me. It went on a few times a month for at least a year! I don't know why they were so interested in me. I guess because I was shy and wimpy and was too scared to tell them to go away, and I would just stand there in my pajamas and nod my head as they went on and on about Jehovah and gave me yet another copy of the Watchtower, and once they gave me a bible too. :o My sister & I would scream and giggle after they went away. Eventually we were smart enough to jump up everytime we heard a car outside and if it looked like the Witnesses we would hide behind the couch and wouldn't answer the door.

2. My aunt, uncle and two of my cousins are Jehovah's Witnesses. One of my cousins got married a few years ago & it was horrible because my mom, my sister, my grandmother, my other aunt & uncle & cousins, and I were the only ones there who weren't Jehovah's Witnesses, and it was quite obvious because everyone else knew each other because they all went to the same "hall." You should have seen all of us non-Jehovah's drop our jaws during the ceremony when the "preacher" (minister? I don't know what they are called in the Jehovah religion) said to my cousin "Jennifer, do you SUBMIT to you new husband?" Or something to that affect. SUBMIT??!! What the hell?

3. No offense to any of you J.W.s out there!! ;)

1: i have a jehovah's witness problem here too... ;) they came one day shortly after we moved in and started chatting... saying they were a non-denominational group, blah blah blah... and they gave me a little magazine, what the heck is it called???? aware?? awake?? anyhow... right befor ethey left they gave it to me... and i went back into the house and it had a copy of the watchtower tucked inside.... :P they think they are pretty sneak, they always say 'oh, we know how you and chris are all about the family, so here, we thought you'd enjoy this' and give us that magazine with the watchtower tucked in... like we haven't caught on??? heh heh....

2: i am wimpy and just listen to them and nod my head.... i can't tell them to stay away, i am too nice... :P although i did answer the door when i was wearing some slightly revealing clothing... (a tiny black tanktop with no bra!!:O and a pair of shorts) and it was the guy, with his teenaged grandson... hey, it was like 36 degrees out there and i wasn't expecting company!!!! they kept commenting on how it's so hot and 'isnt' it hard to stay cool and dress for the weather'????

3: i invited the young mormon missionaries to come back and do the complete set of visits with me... i have to admit i terrorized them.... i refused to ask them questions about the book or mormon, instead keeping everything i had to ask them from the bible...;) i have done a lot of research into the mormon religion because i have family who are part of the lds church... and i just wanted them to really THINK for themselves about religion, and really think outside of hte (book of mormon) box.... most of what i picked their brains about, they either tried to change the subject or said 'we'll have to ask someone about that'..... :P i feel sorry for them now.. i was pretty intense....

p.s. i offered them coffee every time they came.... heh heh heh!!!! :P

(nothing in this post was meant to offend any lds members or jw's!!!! i have family who are both and i respect their decision to follow whatever religious doctrine they want.. i don't agree, but i respect it... :)

I must say that a dog, especially a BIG dog, is a good deterrant to visits from Jehovah's Witnesses.

I must also say that these particular Jehovah's witnesses were lucky Blackdog was not out in the front yard when they arrived or they would have had a Cujo-esque experience.

Perhaps I should start keeping old Mister Gruff (my extremely ill-tempered old billy goat) in the front yard because he's nasty and likes to butt. I think the JH's would maybe stop coming if they were given a few good hard butts.

1. When I was 12 I babysat for a doctor and his (irish) wife. They had 3 kids. A five year old, three year old and a baby. And one day I went to the door with a witness there, balancing the baby on my hip, the 3 year old attached to my leg and the five year old hiding behind me. I guess they thought I was a teen mother or something because they never had witnesses come back, even after they moved (I knew someone else on the street).

2. In college, I had a friend who was raised as a JW. She did not think it cool. In fact, she continually told me she thoughts her parents were 'off' (no offense to others out there).

3. The important thing is that pretty underthings make a day better.

I am going to host the e-bay auction of Wonky's painting for Harrison. I'll let y'all know when it's all set :)

My Hubby is in sirius' neck of the woods this weekend drag racing, so I am all alone with Megan...I can work on my projects without having to answer any questions. My Hubby has no idea about nervousness, not because he wouldn't like me being creative and artistic, he'd just be mad I am spending money I shouldn't be spending. (How am I going to explain the WonkyWalking Head? )

It is warm and sunny and beautiful here in So. Cal. It was REALLY windy yesterday so the clouds and smog was blown away; or as Megan would say "it blo-ning."

Gwen and i both got haircuts today and we look cute.

I have art on display at Zeitgeist and Gwen is showing two pieces on a refrigerator in Austrailia.

I went to the grocery for cooking oil and while i was there a half gallon of neapolitan ice cream jumped into my basket.

My momma brought me some year of the monkey stamps.

My husband is reading the book that tanagee sent us and has gotten into the whole pregnancy thing (thanks, Tana!).

He's suddenly very interested in my diet and is making up a little spreadsheet for me to check off my servings of protein, dairy, etc.

It's a little bit like being someone's 4-H sheep being prepped for the fair, but mostly it's just cute.

with all this cute hubby talk I kinda wish I had one sometimes

then I come to my senses, realizing it's a lot of work

that's generally how I feel about babies too

**lots of time to get ready and change my mind though :)

I'd be content to just spend time with my long distance person to find out if I can even call him my boyfriend!

hubbies would take up too much space, I think...

ranting and raving is fun up to a point, then it starts to feel like a hole in a balloon --

I agree about the ranting cb

I wish there was something new to debate

I'm more of a responder to debates rather than a starter so I'll have to wait for the next hot topic

husbands can be a lot of work.

boyfriends are much more fun.

either way it is easiest to be alone.

well now that's a deal... but I'm not sure for who. hehe. ;)

I just want to be able to complain and tell cute stories.

Maybe I could just pretend I have a hubby and make up some things.

Or hey maybe I do and I'm a double life on the internet weirdo.

I'm restless.

I don't generally like ot be around lots of people but I could be very happy in the middle of a club right now.

I think the smell my glue gun makes is the worst smell in the world
