I know I shoud be in bed by now, but I'm grossed out over the vomiting incident (even though I cleaned it up and flipped the mattress.)

3. Oh. Hm... okay, I was trying to figure out the whole cheese and monkey thing and I stubbled across all of this stuff, like the images above, with references to, "references to the French as "Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys". Apparently it is a line from "The Simpsons" which Jonah Goldberg, of National Review proudly claims credit for popularising. It has also been aired on Fox News and in other mass media." and "But who can take seriously a wave of anti-French sentiment in which the catchphrase comes from Bart Simpson? Unfortunately the origin of the “cheese-eating surrender-monkeys” line is already lost in history but is being repeated as if it referred to the current spat. I heard Axel Krause, a German-American journalist in Paris, use it again last week and try to translate it into French: “Consommateurs de fromage, et singes capitulards.” It sounds even funnier in French, and the TV panel on which he was speaking broke up over it."
Did anyone else know of the corruption of our cheese and monkey fascination?

I was lying on my couch looking towards my fireplace mantel and I realized I have never told you all that I own a copy of a book entitled
Tana and the Useless Monkey
I went to Amazon to see if they had an image of the book so I could post it, but they don't.
I have yet to read the book, however it is about a girl (Tana) who is trying to show that her little monkey (Pepito) is useful so that he can be brought to the church for the Blessing of the Animals.
In addition I discovered 3 facts about the book
1. It is out of print
2. I have a first edition
3. I paid WAAAAYYY too much for it. They have some used for $2.99 I think I paid $16 bucks used.

-i have to go to norfolk tomorrow. i hate the trip over there. stupid people from portsmouth won't let you hardly get over at the berkley bridge. traffic is always messed up downtown. and i don't have any cash to go buy any new records at skinnies or camp zama.
-i want to go through norfolk taking photos. i want to take one with all 31(i think) mermaids. i want to take some in ghent. i want to take some from my old hospital room which had the most beautiful view of old norfolk i've ever seen. also i want to go to the oceanfront in va beach and take countless pictures. and i want to take some at the zoo.

I love learning random things about people Ive never met!
(There are GIANT cockroaches in Japan - the house I lived in there also housed a particularly grotesque community of roaches) - When I was little I accidently locked myself in a closet with roaches (or I convinced myself there were some) The point is to this day I absolutely FREAK if even a butterfly lands on me.
i have money to pay my bills - and live a block away from the postoffice - but can't quite seem to ever pay them on time. Honestly, its a chronic problem......

oogie is my word for ugh so translated it was:
ugh
ugh, ugh

I think I was probably stressing...the teacher I share a classroom with (it's a huge classroom separated by a long row of 8 foot bookcases) decided to give her class free time today so they kept coming over and disturbing my class...hence the ughs and the stress...oogie was all I could get out but I was being silly, too...but, she's my friend and we're very laid back so I maybe wasn't stressing that much...just sensory overload

2. My achyness has now spread to my legs, too. What could that be a sympton of, Anastasia? ;)
3. I saw a little old lady today who looked sort-of like my grandma. Made me sad, because I miss my Mimi.... She's been living in Houston with my uncle for the last 2 years.... and is in the advanced stages of Altzhimers (forgive my spelling). So I can't really talk to her on the phone, and she rarely responds back to my letters. My uncle is also a royal jackass, so that doesn't help the communication process. :( I need to round up a big envie full of goodies to send her.....

I hate looking for recipes because I have my "favorites" that I like to make and none of the ones I find are anywhere near as good. And If I fail at finding a recipe then I have to call my mom or go visit or something and have her find my old recipes (my mom is not a baker).
I have a funny picture of my sister I am considering scanning in and posting but I think it would make her mad if she found out, the problem is she'd NEVER find out and then what would the point of doing it be?

I am reading a book called At the River I Stand. It is about the 1968 sanitation workers strike and shooting of MLK in Memphis.
It is a very exciting story. A lot of the people in it are parents of my friends.
I was only 6 when all this happened and i have vague memories of my mom and dad worrying about riots. And people saying that MLK caused trouble wherever he went. I was afraid that a bunch of people were going to come to my house and break out all the windows.

I took my son to Pizza Hut for dinner last night (against my wishes...I really hate to eat that stuff...way too salty and fattening) and our waiter had a "gansta-style" headband cocked around his Pizza Hut regulation baseball cap. I know the poor kid was probably only trying to express his individuality amongst the clone-like environment of working at a chain restaraunt...but for some reason this little thing really disturbed me. I didn't leave him as big of a tip as I might have because of it.
(and that disturbes me, too.) Why?
I also snuck into the restaraunt where my Mother and two of her friends were dining and anonomously paid their bill! Hehe heh! I like being the good kind of sneaky!
I stopped at WalMart and bought a 40 pound bag of dog food. My son was determined to "prove himself a man" and convinced me to let him carry it out to the car. In the parking lot, he dropped it, the bag slpit open and dog food went all over the the place. Oh well.

I'm thinking about having sex in a few weeks (yep, I have to think about it)
boy is coming from Europe for 2 weeks and it just so happens to be during my spring break (his parents live here so it's not like he is coming just to see me)
I made a decision not to add anymore partners before I had another serious relationship so I'm trying to convince myself that being with someone I've been with before isn't really adding to anyone (I'm not sure I want a serious relationship with him)

2. I'm flying to Boise day after tomorrow, because my sister has the title role in _The Merry Widow,_ and my brother is playing opposite! (How cool is that?)
3. Someone hacked into my Nness profile. Actually, someone's hacked into the site or something. Either that or the Heads have really poor taste, which I really don't believe. But when I looked at my page today, in place of no listing at all since I have no website, a porn site was listed. When I went into edit profile to delete it, all it did was change. I had to put in a fake URL to stop this.

i do enjoy reading (novels, magazines and non-fiction topics of interest to me), but when i am looking for particular information, reading loads of things to find it becomes tedious

1. Me too! I don't buy these because of the sugar free thing though, I usually pick them because of the shape. For some reason only the sugar free kinds are flat and wide, and that's the way fudgesicles should be! The ones with sugar are always skinny and narrow. ^_^

Maybe I wouldn't love it as much if I lived there, but there are some nice stores there and I went on a cruise last summer to visit the naval base and I had a lot of fun! 1. That's one of the big worries I have about Ebay - the packing & mailing. I don't understand how people know exactly how much something is going to cost to mail, unless you take it to the PO and have them tell you and then bring the box back home and the bring it back to the PO when the auction is over which just seems crazy. For example, I have a ton of clothes that I want to get rid of, along with a ton of clothes I told my sister I would try to sell on ebay for her. Those clothes are going to weigh a lot, even if seperated into small lots, so the shipping costs must be insane.
2. I am afraid of going to the post office. I'm such a weirdo. I just always feel flustered and confused. In all of these months of being an N'ness member I really don't know that much about mailing and the best way to ship things. I usually bring my packages to the clerk and tell them 1st Class and that's that. I don't know what the hell is going on when it comes to all of this "flat rate" "media rate" mumbo jumbo.

I do a lot of complaining to 1-800 lines and I get free stuff. Once I called nestle up and complained beacuse the side of the box said and I QUOTE "guaranteed to make you smile all over" and you know what? - I didn'DIDN'T smile all over. I grinned a bit, but no SMILING. Geez, they promised smiles and happiness and they didn't deliver!!!!!!
They gave me $5.00 in coupons, begrudgingly I might add (something about the guarentee not being literal- but then WHY GUARANTEE IT??!?!, you shouldn't make promises in writing you can't keep, even if it's only supposed to be a catching marketing slogan I WANTED TO SMILE ALL OVER!!!!!) Totally...
1. I had a half dream, half thought last night. If I ever won the lottery, I would put as much money into a fund and all we 'good eggs' could meet and congregate for a week.
2. Of course, it would probably be in America, so I doubt many internationals would come.

1. My GS cookie of choice has always been the thin mint. Sure, I had my tagalong phase and those caramel delights draw me in with their coconutty goodness. But it's the thin mint I keep coming back to, year after year.
2. My favorite cafe/deli/bakery here in ISSQ is closing this week. I'm very sad. I ordered a dozen of their chocolate-dipped chocolate chip cookies to store in my freezer for emergencies.
3. Today I have been moderately productive at work AND have been dinking here in the forums. What a perfectly balanced day!

thin mints are the best, but u can buy grasshoppers year round if you need the fix, LOL.
1. Thin mints, since they make your breath smell nice, have no calories.
2. And since caramel delights have coconut on them (something healthy for you), they have more calories, but still under 50.
3. I drizzled some caramel, by accident, on my desk blotter calendar. Good thing I get to change months on monday.

1: i got excellent happy mail yesterday- my 'fish bait' lmao treat from gwensmom, the coolest little fishy earrings, with pretty beads... they are wonderful!!! as chris said 'tell her they kick A$$!!!!'... :D
2: our kitchen looks very nice indeed... the floor is a pale terracotta orange, to match the border (a swirly terracotta/beigy/olive green pretty thing) and the oil painting my mom did for me of 4 types of olives, all terracotta'y with black and green olives on it .... the actual focal point and idea behind the kitchen was the painiting!!!! the bottom half of the walls are olive green venetian plaster, and the border is half way up, and the top half is a marbley green/off white wall paper.... i  my kitchen!!!!!!!! just needs floorboards...
3: because we got them to pay us out for the flooring, instead of having aprofessional do it, we bought cheaper flooring so we could get wallpaper/paint too!!! i'll have to take a picture before i get everything back into my kitchen andpost our handywork... :)

3. It is still distinctly possible I will be working with the (Ex)Boy all summer, so I'm working through all this stuff for multiple reasons, all of which are really for my own good. He had his interview a week or so ago and I've already accepted my job...

Do you think it's possible with the millions of people in the world that someone has walked in my shoes per say? Like had the exact same experiences as I have but just not in the same place or with the exact same people?
YES!!!!! Just with different subtleties...

I first read that as "Just with different subtitles"
I think I like it better that way, actually.

that is, word for word, what i was going to say.
1. my mother, a devout roman catholic, still somehow believes she has been reincarnated.
2. she says it's the only way she can explain her vague feelings of dissatisfaction and delusions of grandeur.
3. my mom is my biggest fan, my number one supporter and i'd be lost without her.

2. I have lots of junk in my house and I need to sell it so I can have some extra money. I keep telling myself to list some stuff on ebay, but I have never sold anything on ebay before so I'm scared and I talk myself out of it everytime :P
Don't be afriad, Sarahkate, it's not that hard! In fact, Ebay now has software that makes it much easier to list auctions! :D If I can do it, anyone can! ;)
When I started selling stuff on ebay, I signed up for a stamps.com account, so I could buy postage online and print it out on my printer. As part of signing up, I got a 5 pound postage scale. And the post office's website gives a Postage Calculator (http://www.usps.com/tools/calculatepostage/welcome.htm?from=home&page=0061calculatepostage) that's really easy to use. It goes step-by-step through all the options you have to ship something... Very helpful!
I'm just now catching up with 3 days worth of random facts...
I was completely at a loss for a good idea for JosieGellar's My First Art Doll LMAO. I told Hubs about it, and he came up with a great idea! Now I have a moral dilema.... does he now get co-creater credit???

-i have a song from the movie "gummo" stuck in my head. silly song about roosters make me smile.
-i'm going to watch Salo when i can find the disc in my room. either that or 28 Days Later for the 617th time.
-i need a job so i can buy new records, dvds, cd-rs, art supplies, shipping supplies, books, and soda. i LOVE dvds and soda! that and drive around the country throwing stuffed animals at ghetto children. they need love too.
*bonus* - i'm snuggled up in bed with buh-bear my big st. patty's day beanie bear. he loves me.
*bad bonus*- my parents think my gender confused bird hurt it's foot. it's limping around it's cage and being angry. hopefully he'll feel better tomorrow.
