2. Kittymao had a very funny dream.

3. I apologized and the swede said "Next time ignore it!" and I was like, "well I was told it was important." And I also called the operator (she ALWAYS makes mistakes) and told her to call him and let him know it was HER call, and NOT mine...

I was trying to get a home equity loan through the bank we just re-financed our house with and I told them some information that was different from what we gave them to apply, we can't qualify for another loan but I was afraid that they would use the information to check out our home loan and since we were somewhat fraudulent, I started freaking out that they were going to 'call in our loan' and we would lose our house. All is well though. Thanks Robyn!

1. I put my dog (http://www.dogster.com/dog_page.php?i=3109) on dogster the other night...check him out. (Yes we have really hideous linoleum in our kitchen)

2. I have this unexplainable pain in my butt/hip area. I am a hypochondriac and I told my hubby I probably have bone cancer.

3. It is not beyond the realm of possibilty that I could have cancer, my dad passed away from cancer and there is enough cancers in my family to support the theory of a cancer gene.

1. My doggie Sherman (http://www.dogster.com/dog_page.php?i=1897) is on dogster too! Much more fun than Friendster.

2. I fired my assistant today (thanks for the well-wishes, Stargal). It was not fun. She didn't get crazy, but she did get passive aggressive and told me that she hadn't excelled at her job because I was a poor supervisors, a bad coach, and an unkind, uncaring person. Etc. I'm trying hard not to take all this to heart and just enjoy the fact that she is gone.

3. When I started cleaning the files on HER computer, I found a list of mistakes I had made (or she perceived that I had made) that she was keeping.

I like the Dogster Bio's about the mutts, pound dogs and rescues the best...shows how big of hearts people have.

I realized the other day that I am such a Virgo when it comes to some things (alphabetizing my cd's and hanging my clothes together in the closet based on sleeve length, material and color) and such NOT a Virgo when it comes to other things (towering piles of papers & books all over the house, a load of towels moldering in the washing machine)

well, not IN the oven -- but next to it, for sure!

when I think of her, I just wish she had been able to make it through that depression... it probably would have gotten easier as her kids got older and she would have been an interesting older lady now.

depressions need to be recognized for the illnesses that they are!

1. I LOVED the Bell Jar. I have always had trouble imagining the person who wrote about depression in that book also being pulled under by it - much like Virginia Woolf.

2. I had my own epiphany about depression one day. I'd just started taking Zoloft for anxiety and for a growing fascination with the concept of death, which my psych rightly identified as depression. I saw a billboard that I'd seen a dozen times before. It said, "Untreated depression is the #1 cause of suicide." I'd always thought, well, DUH. But this time when I looked at it, a little light bulb went off over my head. My grandfather committed suicide, and it was the first time, as I sat at that stop light, that I'd realized that he committed suicide because he was depressed, that depression runs in my family, and that I'd just saved my own life with a bottle of little blue pills.

3. I'm home now and I'm eating chocolate while my husband fixes me dinner. I know this is an anticlimatic third fact. I actually wrote most of it first.

1. I have spent tonight (Friday night!) home alone, on the couch, watching a movie. Not that there's anything wrong with this, but sometime during my life I unfortunately picked up the habit of thinking that I am a complete lame-o if I spend a weekend night not out doing something with friends. I tell myself repeatedly that there is absolutely no reason to feel like a lame-o, but I never listen.

2. My nails are on strike -- they've all broken or chipped or otherwise gone bad and now they look crappish.

1. Might as well get it all out there now. :D Let's see if I can explain this as simply as possible. Hubs is very good friends with person A, and has been for about a bizzillion years. "A" and I also work together. Recently "A" has gone through some major personal issues, and has come pretty close to having a nervous breakdown. "A" confided many of those issues to person "B" in our office. Lately, for reasons that still remain a mystery, "B" has been telling "A" horrible things about me, and because of "A"'s weakened emotional status, "B"'s lies seem more plausible. Many of these fabrications from "B"'s imagination revolve around me saying things that I did not say, and about me plotting revenge for things that I'm not even bothered by. Tensions have mounted and rifts have been forming. Needless to say, it affects me at work and at home, as Hubs doesn't know much of what's been going on, because I didn't want to put him in the middle of all of it. I've known that "B" has been lying for a while, and tried to warn "A" a couple of months ago, but didn't want to come right out and tell her "B"'s lying, because I knew that she needed someone she could confide in, and without that, she'd feel like everyone in the office was against her (because "B" was already telling her that I was...). Today's confrontation was with "A", where I flat out told her some of the things I had heard I was supposedly doing, as well as some of the lies "B" had told me (and others in the office) about "A". She was shocked by much of it. But I think she believed me. I just hope it's over.

2. After that, do I really need 2 more facts???? :P

3. I probably don't need to eat for another 2 days.... The big confrontation was over lunch today (which took 3.5 hours!!!). I got home, and 45 minutes later we had to leave to meet my parents for dinner! I feel like I've spent the majority of my day in restaurants!

3. I also want a LiveJournal! I was looking at a few belonging to N'ness people when I was at home last night & I'm jealous!  I have a blog hosted at Blogger, but that's just not the same. I can't access the LJ website at work though, it was recently blocked for some stupid reason, so even if I had an LJ I would only be able to update it when I was at home. I still want one anyway though.
You should totally get one! I got mine just before Christmas and it's lots of fun. You get friends! People read about your days and post silly comments! Its a big circle of LJ-lovin'! Plus there's lots of cute Nervousness people with them and they'll all "friend" you and you'll feel terribly popular and happy!

You can find out how many points you have to give out by clicking on someone else's feedback. It will say you have participated in x number of projects and you have given out y number of points. One quick subtraction and you have it!

about thunderstorm's post: a ton of people visit the beaches of virginia and north carolina every year and there are hardly ever shark attacks. you see sharks but not usually attacks. i grew up being told that if i was fishing at the pier at VA Beach and i caught a shark i should kill it and use it as bait. people treat sharks horribly. thats why i don't fish...
if you watch at the beach there are more sharks out than dolphins. i've seen 50+ sharks; only seen like 3 dolphins.

3. I do have a nice full size spare bed. I suppose it wouldn't be a big deal if I bent the rules and people "bed surfed" at my house rather than couch surfed

-1- We have a bumper sticker (not on either of our cars, but on a bulletin board) that says, "Support professional musicians. Let us sleep on your couch." :P

-2- My right-winger aunt is always sending me email that I find rather offensive. Today she sent me a list of bumper sticker slogans that are funny. A few of them were actually cute, most were just lame, and one was really offensive: "Welcome to the USA. Now learn to speak English." What the hell?!

-3- The games I have invented to play at my soon-to-be-sister-in-law's bridal shower are: Wedding-themed scattergories, and Wedding-themed movie and music trivia. Those should be fun, and non-embarrassing for the bride, which is my goal. She hates to be the center of attention, and I empathize completely!

1. Dammit. I'm so bored. I'm lonely.

2. I miss the days when threads like this one, Top 5, and Questions, Questions were hopping all day. Lately they seem to be left in the dust. Not that all of the new chain games aren't cool, because they are, I think I just tend to like the threads where I learn more about my fellow N'ness people more.

3. It seems like Nervousness moves a lot more slowly than it used to. Which is strange because it seems like there are new people popping up all over the place, but then the forums don't seem to keep in pace with that.

Your post reminded me of this song. Who sings it? dammit!

I sometimes wish I could break my arm, just to see what it feels like to break a bone.

But then, what if I broke my right arm and I couldn't hold a pencil anymore? That would suck.

-1- That would be "A Groovy Kind of Love," originally made popular by a 60s band called the Mindbenders, and redone in the late 80s by Phil Collins.

-2- Sarahkate, I know what you mean about missing those threads being really active. Lately, the regular chain-gamers haven't all been around. I don't know what happened.

1. I have been having a serious problem trying to find CLEAR flat glass marbles lately. I usually buy them in Michael's, JoAnn Fabrics, or *gasp* Walmart, but for the past few months everytime I try to find some there are none! I am looking for the larger size - not the tiny ones. The closest I can find are the big ones that have an oil-like shimmer to them, so they aren't clear. Grrr.

2. I want all of the snow to melt away. I want to have a car that isn't covered in road salt. I want to leave work when it's still light outside. I want to sit in the grass. I want to wear sandals.

Barbie was originally a doll model of a west german Aryan prostitute, and designed by a man who makes missles. They had to file down her nipples. Go american consumerism!

I am stupidtired. I do drink soda in the morning. and I abhor c-o-f-f-e-e. Is it dark outside yet? Who's gotten valentines? bleah.

Unfortunately, the tired old cliche of "life is what you make of it" is true.
More or less, your perceptions will dictate your entire views of the world.
Things may happen to you in the process of life, but the altering effect is what you take out of it, what you've learned in the process.

One of Gwen's babysitters is really sick this week and is going out of town for a month starting next week. the other one decided that she wanted to cut back from three nights a week to two. We are going to be really tired until we fill all these slots. :(

1. "the beer incident"... I may have ranted this rant before. it's a long story. bear with me. last summer I worked as a Residence Supervisor at a Science Camp. Basically, Pete and I were the house parents to twenty teenagers for six weeks. The kids are pretty much done on the last Thursday; they have twenty-minute presentations to do and big reports to hand in. So Thursday night was a no-curfew celebration. We were all up pretty much all night; I think I wrung about four hours of sleep out of the early morning. The Friday was grad, and then a few kids left. The remainder were all leaving on Saturday. So that means another no-curfew celebration. I made it until about 1230... and then decided I would go sleep until 5 when the first kids were leaving. Pete was going to stay up until 5, and then we'd switch off and he could sleep and I'd be the "responsible" one.

So within half an hour of my going to sleep, Pete pulls beer for them. AAAAH! It doesn't matter what they do at home, this is NOT the place, and he is NOT the person to be giving them beer. He sees nothing wrong with this situation because he felt that closely monitering their intake and supervising them made it ok.

I never told our boss last summer because if he wasn't going back it wouldn't matter... or even if I wasn't going back, it wouldn't matter. When it became a possibility that we'd both be back... I had to tell on him. I hate being the tattletale, but I can't work with him again. There's really no trust there, and trust is crucial.

2. I am looking forward to going back to geek camp and programming the summer.

3. I need to think up some geek-appropriate craftiness to inspire them. The hemp necklaces were uber-popular last year.

3. My valentines plans seem to be slacking and aren't going as well as planned...although there is a chance that things could improve by tomorrow evening...wish me luck :P

That is SO wrong on so many levels. How old are the kids?

1. I have burned about a million CD's in the last 2 days. (okay, only 6 but it seemed like more)

2. I bought CD-R's @ Big Lots, a box of 5 for $2.79, and so far only one is defective, although I have wrecked 2 with poor planning.

3. My Hubby is playing his acoustic guitar for Megan to put her to sleep. (not working yet, I think his presence is keeping her up)

3 1/2 he has written her a song.

i wonder if they'd give you each a monkey to keep it hush-hush.
then you could have the monkies paint or draw and sell them on ebay.
people LOVE monkies.

1) I broke my arm and leg the summer I was six. My grandmother took me to the library every week. I read over a hundred books that summer (and never stopped).

2) My favorite movie is Henry and June.

3) I crack my knuckles constantly, and it drives my husband crazy. I tell him that it is at least not unhealthy like his smoking. :-P

1. I answered a reference question involving a translation from Latin today (or I should say, I provided an answer - I don't know if I fully answered the question).

2. My kitchen is almost halfway clean. This is unusual.

3. I should have made some banana bread tonight, but other things distracted me.

- I'm working on the school's website. I'm pretending this window is my editing window.

1. The crones are being SO LOUD at work right now. And I'm not saying a word.

2. We're playing "Safety Bingo" at work, and I think that's part of why everyone is being loud.

3. I've really got to start working on my novel.

1. Nervousness seems to be in a funk lately. Too many chain games and not enough people here to play them :(

2. I wish I could check LiveJournal from work. I love reading everyones entries and it would be a good way to pass the day while I am sitting here with no work to do.

3. I had caramel Twix for breakfast. I have to stop being so unhealthy.

I'd like to think I'm the equivalent of at least 7 people, I am such a chain game demon!

I bumped up at least 12 games this morning...

I will play against myself if I have to... :D

Sarahkate, what is your LJ name?

I agree about there being too many chain games. I think it's better when there's only a handful but there are loads of posts.

6 billion press releases down, 5 to go! Woot!

Sarahkate, I will go back and check my comments, I keep forgetting to look now I'm friends only.

I am an LJ addict too. LJ and Nness are my two favourite places on the net.

Our internet connection is glacial today and it's hard to haunt the forums if I can't keep reloading the pages!

1. I used to watch that show all of the time when it was new. I'm so ashamed  In college one of the girls on my floor called me "Sabrina" all the time because she said I looked like a teenage witch.

I am an LJ addict to. LJ and Nness are my two favourite places on the net.
2. I keep discovering more & more LJs and LJ communities that are so cool. I just hope I can think of enough interesting stuff to write in mine so I don't bore people! :P

I'm glad I made wonky so happy yesterday

I do like making people feel good

Too bad I had one crazy night with the teenager that made me cry before I went to sleep (well, I felt stressed after my day at work, too)...plus, PMS

* I'm waiting for it to be time to go to my doc appt.

* My asthma has been getting a lot worse in the last couple days and my rescue meds don't seem to help. I'm worried. :(

* I'm also very tired and not particularly motivated to go to work... although I am relieved that my old admin ass will not be there!

3. I just my interview for my summer job (which I got) and had to explain why I didn't want to work with Pete again this summer... ah, the "beer incident".
So, what was the boss's response to the beer incident

will Pete be working again this summer

Oh, and I forgot my grammar...I went and asked the English teacher about boss's and couldn't believe that I could use 3 esses in a row...wow!

Here's a random fact

I have come to the conclusion that oranges give me random gas

I recently started eating oranges and occasionally apples on a daily basis and every afternoon I am trying to keep from farting during my last period

The fact that I could even admit this is a big step for me as I'm always been ashamed of some of the humanly things about me...especially flatulence

Thanks Kelly! I printed it out, and I will probably color it this weekend while watching t.v. One can never have too many sharks. ;)

-1- I was sooo busy this morning, doing work! I had to rush-order 10 DVDs and 25 books. That's unusual.

-2- Chris, the silly, thought that Valentine's Day was on Friday. He was so mixed up. We are renting Lost in Translation for Valentine's Day, which is not that appropriate. But that's us.

-3- Sigh. Grapes and celery for lunch again. I am glad that I am making Indian food for dinner. Yum.

1. Thanks to G-W-L-S for that submission to celebrity island.

2. I started a little livejournal diversion called "Celebrity Island." Mixed in with my regular posts, I will be talking about those annoying celebrities and what would happen to them if you just droppped them on an island and they were forced to live life without <gasp> cameras. I nominated Ryan Seacrest, because I think the man just is EVERYWHERE today.

3. If interested (you don't have to be a member of Livejournal), stop by my Livejournal (http://www.livejournal.com/users/gothamgal) today. Just leave your Nness name if you're not on my LJ friends list! :peace:

-1- I was seriously creeped out by Dave Navarro and Carmen Electra getting their photos taken like they were corpses in a morgue for their wedding invitations. Eww. And that's why I nominated them for stargal's Celebrity Island.

-2- I am going to have a radio show with kismet09! It will be on Tuesdays from 11-12 a.m., Eastern Standard Time. I hope some of you will listen! The url for the radio station is http://wmbc.umbc.edu/ and you can connect to the streams there. I wil
