1. Thanks for the heads up! I'll watch my back for Guido and his baseball bat.... Instead of broken kneecaps, I guess I have to worry about broken fingers... :P

2. Now I've started something.... Not only do I have ChunkyMonkey and Sarahkate on my posting heels, I'm over 130 posts behind current #15, Kittymao... Luckily, with her in school, I have a chance.

3. I just want to be in the top 10 for a minute... Then I'll stop the madness. I realize hopes of the top 5 are completly out of reach unless I quit my job and spout randomness 24-7 in Q&Q for MONTHS in order to catch up to Christine & Seusomon... :P

1. Oh, ok. I will tell Guido to back off. The guilt is too much, I want to see Cindi live out her dream of one day being a top 10 poster! ;) We will all have cake, ice cream, and balloons when the day comes.

2. Maybe Cindi is tired all of the time because she is anemic? I don't eat lots of meat so I worry that I might be anemic because I too am tired way too often. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning to go to work it feels like I haven't had any sleep at all.

3. I feel bad for James. I wish I was knowledgeable about computer programming so I could help him out. Poor kid! :(

2. Nope - not anemic. That's one of the first things they tested me for. My iron is fine. I have symptoms of narcolepsy, but the doctors SWEAR I'm not narcoleptic. They say if I was, I'd feel rested after my frequent "naps."

3. I often have unexplainable medical issues that the doctors shrug off as "we can't figure out what's wrong with you" type things.... usually they go away by themselves, but the excessive sleepiness is an ongoing issue....

-1- Cindi should see a homeopath who is also an MD. They are the best because they listen and take you seriously, but when people roll their eyes at you for taking herbal remedies, you can assure them that a real doctor is treating you.

-2- I am wearing a cashmere sweater. It's so soft and I keep petting myself on the arm. I feel like a stuffed animal.

-3- It's too bad that the Christian Right has given me so many icky feelings about religion.

1. I do not miss living in an apartment. Hearing everything that your neighbors are doing... YUCK! In our last apartment, our bedroom backed up to someone else's.... Wednesday night was their night to do "it"... :P

2. Our next-door neighbors are funny.... They're a retired Korean couple. About a year ago we were outside talking to them, and Mr. Kim asked Hubs if he'd ever had ginsing tea. When hubs said no, Mr. Kim told him "It's better than Viagra!" and sent his wife in the house to get some tea bags for hubs. When she came out, she didn't just give him 1 or 2 teabags, she gave him 8 boxes of the stuff! I don't know what made him think Hubs needed something viagra-like, but Ms. Kim was certainly in a hurry to pawn some off on us!

3. Speaking of neighbors, the kids in our subdivision are constantly cutting through our back yard as a shortcut all hours of the day and night. We've asked them repeatedly not to cut through, but it's not doing any good. We live in a huge neighborhood, and there are tons of kids, so I don't know which house goes with which kid to complain to the parents (not that it would do any good...). Anyone have any suggestions?

1. Razor wire. :P

2. Make it into a game. Tell the kids that if they walk through your yard, they have to do a "chore." Like if it were my yard, I would make them pick up sticks and put them on our wood pile. You could get them to pull weeds, maybe, or pick up rocks. Have a bucket of wildflower seeds for them to sow as they walk through. I don't know what your yard is like.

3. Just keep asking them nicely. Maybe they'll get sick of you and choose a new route. Doubtful, but maybe!

1. You could get a big dog. It will either scare them away or it will poop all over your lawn and the kids will be afraid to step in one of the doggy's landmines so they will use someone's non-poop infested lawn to walk through instead

2. Put sprinklers all over your lawn and connect that to a motion censor, or a remote so you can turn the sprinklers on whenever you see the kids walking through.

3. Ah....I am evil I tell you. Pure evil.

I knew I could count on Heather for suggestions! I like the razor wire one the best, myself...

1. The biggest part of the problem with the kids is that they're not little kids.... most of them are between 12-16, and usually closer to 16 than 12... so they're not easily intimidated. And they travel in packs. Or on bikes.

2. We want to put up a fence, but the covenants in our subdivision limit our fences to wooden or wrough iron. And our backyard is pretty big. It would probably cost us $3K to put up a 6 foot semi-private fence. And we don't have that kind of money lying around.

3. Plus, if we build a fence, Hubs is going to want to get a dog. I can't even begin to fathom having a dog and 3 cats. And one dog is going to turn into 2, then 3..... :P

total fasting time- 7 a.m. until the bolus of glucose at 11:20 or so... and i started his (technically) eleven am feed at 1:30... and caught him up with all his calories by 9 am this morning...

The most negative 3 Random Facts ever:

-1- I just got an "evite" to my brother's fiancee's bachelorette party, which is in Baltimore even though they all live in Philadelphia, and which I am almost certainly expected to attend.

-2- The only people who are invited to the party who I have laid eyes on more than once are my soon-to-be-sister-in-law, my cousin, and my mom. I am sure my mom won't go. My brother's fiancee will be a little busy with all of her friends there. My cousin is uber-outgoing and probably won't want to hang out with me.

-3- I am having an anxiety attack about this party already, especially since they are charging $25 per person because there will be an open bar. I hate being around drunk people, and I don't want to spend $25 to be around drunk strangers, especially since I am already shelling out upwards of $500 for the different elements of this wedding.

Bonus fact: I just wrote her this email, but can't decide whether to send it. Advice, anyone? (I should start a separate thread just where people give me advice, I swear.)

I put myself in the "maybe" column for the bachelorette party for a couple reasons, and I didn't want to make my comments there for the world to see. I am more comfortable just telling you because you actually know me. I don't want your sisters and the bridesmaids to think I am a bitch. You know how shy I am, and that I don't like to be around people who have been drinking a lot. I was planning to come anyway for maybe an hour or so. But then I saw that it's going to cost $25. I guess that's not a lot of money to most people, but to me, it really is. Your wedding is very important to me, and I have been happy to save money for the hotel, dress, etc, and I am very excited for the wedding. It will just really be hard for me to spend $25 on something that's not fun for me in the first place. I know my mother would tell me that I should just go and try to have a good time, and that I will be alienating the other bridesmaids by not going. She's probably right, but the fact that I keep getting really upset when I think about it gives me a clue that maybe I should just stay home. I guess I am writing because I don't want you to take it personally. You know I love you, and I am really happy that you are going to be my sister-in-law. There is a chance that I will change my mind. If I do come, I will have a positive attitude and talk to people as much as I possibly can. I will stay a "maybe" until I make my final decision.

Edited to make font more readable. NTS: Impact is weird.

1. The note sounds good Heather. I think you explained your situation very well, and hopefully she will understand. I guess it all depends on what type of person your soon-to-be sister-in-law is though, I suppose there is a chance she might get bent out of shape. Maybe you should call her and tell her over the phone rather than emailing it if you think she is the type of person who might not understand why you don't want to go? Maybe?

2. Hmm.. I'm not the best giver-of-advice. First I tell Cindi to get a big dog to poop on her lawn, and now this

3. I don't blame you for not wanting to go to the party. Maybe if your sister-in-law insists you go - maybe you could bring a friend with you?

1. I'm not the best on advice, either. I got bent out of shape and upset about my (former) best friend's wedding, didn't end up going, and she hasn't spoken to me since....

2. Regarding the dog poop -- I've already got that in my yard.... one of my neighbors walks his dog and it always leaves a "present" right under my mailbox. Maybe instead of throwing it back in his yard I ought to put it in the "path" that's forming.... hmmmmmm....

Actually they're cheaply made hacky sacks, which I bought at a British national park, for very cheap indeed.

I wonder if Three Random Facts has slowed down significantly since all the other question games started up, since it now seems wrong to post things like "right now I'm listening to 'Trip Like I Do'" or "I had garlic foccacia for dinner and hazelnut shortbread and a giant kiwifruit for dessert" or "I've never been to Paris in the springtime" on this thread anymore.

2. Hubs is in the living room watching Star Trek movies.... he's got the volume cranked up way too loud, and periodically I'm startled by rushing spaceship noises.

3. He's such a sci-fi / techno geek. How did we end up together? :P I guess it's like those kitchen appliance ads - "Where technology meets art"... :P
1. oh cindi! beee careful! I'm a complete star trek geek now

2. I like the borg...they're neat

3. patrick stewart is awesome... [/b][/quote]
1. I didn't mean any offense. Just a statement of fact! I, personally, don't care for sci-fi, but I try to humor him.

2. I HATE William Shatner, though, so I won't watch the old stuff with him.

3. I'd watch Patrick Stewart do anything though. *sigh* *drool*

1. I'm the same way. Last time I got low, I picked up 4 glue sticks and several other different types of glue at the store... Can't have too much glue!

2. I'm worried about tomorrow morning's commute. It's been raining for the last 2 days, and it's supposed to get really cold tonight, so there's a high chance of ice. People in Georgia can't drive in the dead of summer, so ice proposes all sorts of problems.

3. I'm a little embarassed to admit this, but I'm listening to the top 40 countdown on the radio... The only plus is that Barenaked Ladies' "Another Postcard" just came on... :P hehe.... monkeys in the mail! :D

1. Last night my windshield wipers froze in a kind of warped position, and took almost the entire drive to work to defrost. Meanwhile, we're having icy rain. I'm trying to drive down the interstate in the middle of rush hour traffic (and about 12 bizillion tractor trailers), and there's a spot directly in front of my eyes, about as big around as my head, that's not being swept by the windshield wipers. Made for an interesting drive to work...

2. There's no coffee yet.... neeed.....coffee......must......have......coffee......
