1. I think I might have a sinus infection or something as my head is all stuffed up AGAIN. I'm going bonkers. All I want is to sleep a full eight hours without waking up.
2. I have a lab this afternoon, which means I need to be reasonable coherent.
3. It could take a caffiene drip to fake coherence today.

the man who invented the flushing toilet's name was Thomas Crapper
I stunned my OAC art class by knowing that (our teacher was very random and was chatting with some of us one day, and came out with that question, not expecting anyone to give the answer, but i did)
the word thesis makes me shudder

2. I wondered if you would think, "Boy, why did freckledcutie post if she didn't have anything to say."
3. The urge was too great and I decided to go ahead and post nothing.

2. I saw the cutest thing in a catalogue yesterday -- they were called "Smittens." It's a pair of mittens, plus one 2-person mitten, so you and your snuggle-bunny can each wear a normal mitten, and have the other "smitten" on so you can hold hands without the outside of your hand getting cold. Does that make any sense???
what catalogue?!
I must see them... that's ingenious! [/b][/quote]
1. Smittens at UncommonGoods.com (http://www.uncommongoods.com/item/item.jhtml?catId=3&itemId=12199).
2. I was mistaken -- I thought they were knitted mittens instead of Fleece. But knitted would work...
3. I had nightmares last night about the teeth in that gross-out quiz Christine posted yesterday....

-1- I got to see baby Lily take her first steps on Saturday. It was really neat!
-2- As cute as she is, spending the weekend with a one-year-old definitely reaffirmed my decision not to have children.
-3- My best friend and her husband are great parents.

1. Marilyn can count to ten. Recognize a variety of animals, objects, etc. She can recognize and identify numbers and letters when you write them. She gets angry if you do 11-15 though. She will be two in April.

2. The company I work for loves to block access to websites for no particular reason. Suddenly I can't view anyone's Live Journal or any blog at Blog City.
3. I really hate internet censorship. Especially when I have had porn pop up windows come up here at work, but I can't read someone's Live Journal??!! WTF??!!

-1- The nice thing about libraries is that they are very anti-censorship and would never dream of blocking websites.
-2- I am currently cataloging a CD called "Sirius."
-3- I drank a Miller Light whilst watching a football game on television on Sunday night. Those two things are very much unlike me, but I was at my brother's apartment.

1: the stupid nurse from the MRI unit just called me back... she was rude.. and did i mention stupid??? i asked htem about an IV with glucose during his MRI so he isn't fasting for so long... she called me back, again, after talking to more people, again... and told me 'he can have formula until 7 am... and clear glucose until 9 am...' and i said 'what about the IV though??? can they do that??' 'i'm not talking about the IV... he can have clear fluids until 9 am...' 'well, he doesnt' have any clear fluids that can be taken... the product 80056 is the closes thing to a clear fluid and it has lipids in it'... 'well, he can't have anything after 7 am then'... 'but what about the IV??? can they do glucose in that???' 'you can do clear fluids until 9 am'.....
2: this is what i deal with daily... and yes, i am whining... because i was NOT asking her about tube feeding him anything.... and all day yesterday when i talked to seven differnt people i was stating i wanted glucose given when they put the IV in for the anesthetic... and if they can give him the glucose earlier (a couple of hours before the mri, we would just hang around the hospital while he was hooked up) and after while he is recuperating.... nothing was mentioned by me about when and what i could tube feed him.. i have the form in my hands right now that says what i can and cant' feed him... that was not the issue... and now my good mood is gone because they are all a bunch of idiots and i just spent five minutes on the phone with my mom who of course had ot cll right after i got off the phone with moron #1, and i am so frustrated that i am crying and htat makes me mad becuse i hate that they think they have the right to make people feel like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3: if i cnat' talk to the anesthetist and get things organized how i want them today i am cancelling his MRI... all it will tell us is if and where ther eis brain damage... it wont' change how he is and who he is, and if there is damge, we can't do anything about it anyhow.... so...

1. I'm craving some chocolate milk right now and I almost never drink milk.
2. I decided last night that I wanted to have some raspberry tea. The water was already boiling by the time I realized I didn't have any teabags. Where did they go? I was almost positive I had to boxes of raspberry tea. I think there is a tea thief in my house <_<
3. I hate to admit it...but I watched American Idol last night! I just love to see the first ones where people are auditioning and they sing so bad. It's hilarious. Though I think the judges are just too rude to some of the people who can't sing. I am surprised half of the people who were denied didn't go home & slit their wrists. Did anyone else watch this but me? If that annoying ass girl with the scooter makes it through to the end I will throw something through my tv screen. I swear I will!

2: i sat for five minutes and thought about solving this stupid problem... and i think i am calling the MRI unit at 1:30 (when lunches will be over) and asking to talk to the anesthetist him/herself.... and i will tell them 'oh, i guess there was some kind of misunderstanding because what they called me for had nothing to do with what i was asking.... do YOU think we could give him glucose through the iv you will be using???'
3: <sigh> i want to move somewhere where there are medical professionals with metabolic experience... i feel this much | | closer to the edge every time i deal witht his type of thing.. which happens every time i deal with those people... collectively, the medical professional community....

1. I want to play the Scrabble game, but don't want to read through the instructions. I'm becoming quite choosy with the use of my eyes.
2. I haven't read the thing about George and Mars, because I don't want to get annoyed by it. I find the space program fascinating, and am in awe of the things they can accomplish. I don't want to read about how the money can be better spent. I don't want to be reminded about people needing food. I want to think about the little boy (or girl) who is in pre-school right now, who dreams of reaching the stars, who will attain the know-how, who will get to go to Space Camp, and one day be able to step on a foreign planet because the US had the gall to be ridiculous with their Space program budget.
3. The swings look very inviting today.

1. I watched it, Sarahkate. I always watch the first few episodes. And, yeah, okay, a few other episodes here and there...
2. I concur about ScooterGirl being VERY ANNOYING. What a self-centered bleach-blond attention hog.
3. I never like the kind of music that people on there try to sing, like that horrible Celine Dion-type crap. But there was one contestant (the red-head) who sang The Way You Look Tonight and I thought he was really good.

1. Oh! I loved him! He was great! I really hope he wins, or at lest someone like him who is the complete opposite of Scooter Girl!
2. I often wonder who tells some of these people they are good singers? Like the "Route 66" chick. First of all she looked all sloppy, if you are going on national television at least present yourself well. Second of all she could NOT sing. Who told this girl she was a good singer? I would hope that my family and friends would honestly tell me that I was not a good singer if I thought I wanted to try out for a show like that.
3. Sometimes I worry that I'm addicted to TV. I have gone through periods of my life where I didn't watch tv at all just because I was too busy, but now that I have plenty of time on my hands I get sucked into tv shows. In the past year I started watching Everwood. I think I'm in love with Amy's new boyfriend. :o

"well, i don't hae a name here for you"... get dr. chang to call me, that is why they said yesterday will be doing it.. "he's busy"... i can wait.. "he's in the operating room"... i'll leave a message... "i'll try to get him <click> he's busy, you can't talk to him right now".. i dont' want to talk to him right now, get him to call me, please... "what is it that your son has???" urea cycle disorder.. specifically cps deficiency... "i've never heard of any such a thing"... that doesn't surprise me... can you get dr. chang to call me please??? "yeah, i guess you've talked to enough people here already"...
hm. like i'm 'going over their heads'.... no.. i just want to talk to someone who understand the term 'can you give him glucose in his IV'...... which is apparently beyond the scope of ability of the nurses and techs here....

-3- I am deeply curious about British Columbia, which everyone raves about. I only wish it weren't quite so far away from my family. The Eastern Provinces are a reasonable long-day's drive from Baltimore.

3. Sometimes I worry that I'm addicted to TV.
1. Me too! I've been better this year about not letting myself get roped into any more shows, but I'm perfectly content to sit in front of the TV for hours and watch crap-TV.
2. Right now, the shows I MUST see include: 24, ER, Friends, Law & Order CI, & That 70's Show.
3. We also religiously watch the sindicated reruns of Seinfeld, even though we can almost recite most of the episodes!

1. Oh yeah, us too, Cindi. Well, we don't watch them religiously, but whenever we flip by an episode, we end up watching it. Fortunately we haven't managed to memorize the t.v. schedule so we don't say in advance, "Seinfeld is coming on."
2. The shows I do watch religiously are Friends, Scrubs, Austin City Limits (which we tape because it comes on in the middle of the night here), and Gilmore Girls.
3. It would be so much worse for me if I didn't have a full-time job with normal hours. I am a daytime junkie-- I start watching with the Today Show at 7 a.m. and keep on going until Oprah ends at 5:00. It's bad.

You would think Jesus had made an appearance with all the carrying on.
If Jesus had showed up he would not have made the first page because it was all about the lottery. That and the new Elvis action figures that are soon to be released.

1. I remember when the Georgia lottery started in the early 90's.... it was a nightmare. All the churches were acting like it was the first sign of the apocolypse. It took awhile, but they calmed down (a little) when they realized it was helping like a zillion kids go to college....
2. Hubs and I frequently have convo's about what we'd do if we won the lottery, but we rarely play.
3. I think my statistics class in college ruined me on the lottery -- once you figure out the actual odds of picking the correct numbers (which are different odds from the ones the lottery commission gives), it makes the prospect of winning much more bleak.

1. I just got my free past-life report from Astrology.com.
2. It says: Great expanses of space, including the seemingly endless expanse of oceans, are likely to call to you, Heather, and in them you probably find some of your most quieting and comforting experiences. For example, traveling long ago as a Spanish, English or even Japanese settler, pioneer or explorer, you may have crossed the oceans in search of a better world. You were then part of a strong sea-faring culture which frequently set out --over a period of many centuries -- to explore, invade and often defeat enemies and cultures usually much greater in strength and size. Jupiter is the planet which rules or symbolizes the heart of Sagittarian energies, supplying you with a broadly courageous -- though at times daredevil -- quality. Yet underneath this often exciting exterior lies a calm but calculating mind. Another characteristic experience is one or more past lives involving a lot of movement, change and separation from your family and your cultural roots.
3. Hmm, I think it is telling me to seek a better world. Right now I am learning about Canada (but also cataloging books, because that's my job, riiiiiight?).

I have heard it said that the lottery is a game for taking advantage of people who can't do math.
Lots of church people here were against the lottery too because "it will hurt the poor". But before that they were against reforming our antiquated regressive tax structure that has been hurting the poor for years! Instead of tax reform, they "temporarily" raised the sales tax a percent.
Gwensdad almost got clobbered last night when he came home and told me he had bought lottery tickets. He was just kidding.

1. I  Television Without Pity (http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com). The writers there give the funniest synopses of some of my favorite shows, particulary 24.... I love the nick-names they give the characters, and have started using them when I talk to hubs about the episodes.... For example (for you 24 fans out there), Michelle = Bitchelle, Kim = Keifer Spawn, Chase = Jude Law as drawn by Charles Schultz, and later refered to as Charlie Brown, the bad guy Keifer broke out of prison = an Hispanic version of Phil Hartman, or Felipe Hartmano.... :P
2. The green bouncy guy on Sirius's signature line puts me into a trance...
3. I was NOT impressed with American Idol last night.... couldn't they at least show a little more of the good? A whole hour of badness isn't as funny when you don't have some good thrown in there.... Anyone else agree?

1. I agree whole-heartedly. Although, the people they did tell they were going to Hollywood were also pretty bad, I thought. 1. I'm really annoyed with my doctors.... they don't seem to care that I'm tired all the time! I've asked that they send me to a sleep clinic or something so I can at least figure out what my sleep cycles are (so I know how long I should be sleeping), but they don't seem to want to do that either. And I'm not even in an HMO! I started crying when I told my neurologist last month that I was so tired I didn't think I could stand it... He just looked at me and said "try this" and gave me another prescription...
2. One of my coworkers came in today and said she heard on the radio that Lean Cuisine will send you 5 free meal coupons if you call their 800 number. She said it was 1-800-EAT-LEAN. That was not the number... when you call it, it's a phone sex line. The real number is 1-888-LEAN-DIET.
3. I hate when companies add extra letters to their phone numbers like that! Of course, no one would do their diet if their 800 number was 1-888-LEAN-DIE :P

2. My creaping-up-the-top-poster-list obsession continues.... I just realized that there are additional pages on the Overall Top Poster section. I've been hanging out at #17 for a few days... but I'm quietly sneaking up on sarahkate.... She'll be #17 by the end of the night! MWAAAAHAHAHAH!!!!
1. Wow! Cindi and Chunkymonkey went on a posting wazoo last night! They both passed me! I am now at a pathetic #18! So sad! :P
2. That's it! I must think of a way to stop this madness. Cindi & veronica pose a threat to top 10 posters everywhere! Something must be done! Hmm....I think someone is going to have to "take care" of these chicks. <_<
3.
