The cake isn't from scratch, but I'm going all out- I even pulled out the mixer, I seperated Eggwhites for the cake so it'll be SUPA-white and fluffy, and-and- From-scratch rasberry topping! I totally plan on making it a two-layer cake too. Even though I haven't done it. But there's a first time for everything!

2. i dreamed about three girl snakes nicely quarreling over one boy snake
3. really only two of them were involved, the other was just an extra
medeous
01-14-2004, 05:00 AM
1. so anyway, the two snakes that wanted the boy snake were the skinny young pretty one and the slightly older, pudgier and funny one.
2. when i left them, they were comparing their invisible feet in an effort to decide who deserved the boy snake more.
3. apparently, the pudgier snake had some hereditary weirdness with her invisible feet which included a very high, star shaped instep...and this was a good thing.
medeous
01-14-2004, 05:02 AM
1. i identified more with the older pudgier snake
2. i didn't dislike the skinnier younger snake, she was quite amiable
3. i didn't think the boy snake was the brightest crayon in the box, but he too was nice and some sort of high muckety-muck in snake politics
medeous
01-14-2004, 05:04 AM
1. my feet are not invisible
2. my instep is not star shaped

1. I really don't have much to say... just wanted to wave back to Seusomon!
2. Another reason the people in my office are jerks is that they're always stealing stuff off my desk.... That's part of the reason why I chew on my pens... they think it's gross, and it ensures that they won't take my pens.
3. Because they often steal things, I printed labels for the major things at our copy table (tape dispenser, stapeler, envelope licking machine, etc.) that say "DO NOT REMOVE UNDER PENALTY OF DEATH". I'm not messing around anymore! :P

I think what happens is that regular reply doesn't let you start a post until 30 seconds have passed, but fast reply doesn't let you actually post it until 30 seconds have passed. So you can start typing 15 seconds after your last post, finish typing 30 seconds later, and get in a lot quicker that way
That's my theory anyway
However it works, it seems to be favoring me over Christine :D

"Where it has been enabled, there will be a fast reply button on each topic. Clicking this will open up a posting box on the topic view screen, cutting down on the time required to load the main posting screen."
therefore, it's only faster because it doesn't take as long to load
it's only favouring you because you type slower than me :P i quit using it, because I was getting mad at typing my reply, hitting "add reply" and still getting the flood control message

Proof of Paranoia- I got so freaked out about posting where I was going and then what I was wearing that I changed my outfit and took the Odd route so i could shake stalkers, in case there were some. But I also had the really odd image of running into BlueCrayon at the post office out there - I don't know what she looks like, but She had a blue scarf and cat eye glasses. At least what I imagined.
Uhm. Things are almost well with school. The advisor (which wasn't my usual one, mind you) had me absolutely believing that I'd have to take FIVE classes- for about five minutes I pondered donating my eggs to make tuition. And then she came back and told me all was well. *whew*
Though I do have one class I NEED whose day and time is still up in the air.
And- I also discovered that there are a lot of things I own which I am willing to part with- this includes a decent collection of in-the-box comicbook toys which could go for about $ 5-10 each. Technically that comes to about $60, which isn't enough for my tuition- and then came the egg idea.
Gods, I was desperate.

This is such a collection of random oddness that I might as well spill myself over:
1.) I secretly admired by current significant other from afar for an entire year and had no intentions of revealing myself when we met by complete coincedence on a website that I was about to delete off my favorite's list. I used to smell his hair, and follow him compulsively without ever knowing he was doing the exact same thing to me. To this day we debate over who would have worked up the courage to slip an anonymous confession into who's locker.
2.) Certain smells can make me forget where I am and completely disorientate me.
3.) I collect scraps of wax from used candles and melt them down into larger hunks of wax and store them in glass mason jars but never turn them into candles as I lack the drive to go to a craft store and purchase more wick.
I haven't even told this stuff to my therapist. Huh. Thanx for the oppurtunity.

I need some feedback on my poem (http://www.geocities.com/christine_fun_0701/glowing.html)
1. I like the story a lot. I started to note some potential improvements, then got to the end and realized they weren't pertinent. You do the dialog perfectly, and that is what the story needs to work. There's a tension between the superficiality of the conversation and the supposed profundity of the event, which all comes together in the end. And because it is short, it holds interest easily - even for a 42-year-old guy with very different things on his mind. This is an A.
2. The poem needs a different approach to work for me. When I get to the final line, I don't really believe it, because I haven't seen this part of the viewpoint character yet - only her annoyance and disconnect. The lines, individually, are right on - important things, said clearly and with words that have motion. I might break it into stanzas and end each one with a line that foreshadows the final line. B-.
General - when I was young, I loved the "twist" at the end of a story or poem. I was wowed when I read them, and wowed at myself when I wrote them. (And, gosh, I still lapse into that a lot.) But even in a very short piece, a strong ending works better if there is a strong thought-provoker or two in the middle. Not only does it keep the reader excited and engaged on first reading, but it means the piece will be remembered for more than one thing.
A good pattern for profundity in a short piece (0 being least profound, 10 most) is
2 - 7 - 5 - 10.
3. I'm not a competent professional. Get another opinion.

1. I put all my pants in the dirty clothes/washing machine and dryer last night. So when I tried to grab some jeans this morning, I realized they were wet.
2. Wet jeans didn't phase me. I simply tried using a hair dryer to dry them.

2. i was hearing that Canada could end up with an electricity supply shortage within two years. (by 2006)
3. as a result, the proverbial "they" are recommending we in Ontario keep our coal fired generating stations open longer than 2007 (the 5 Ontario plants are all slated to be closed by 2007 currently). They don't think the stations should be closed until other forms of power can be found/harnessed to compensate for the amount of power 'lost' by closing these plants.
hehe how about we just quit sending our electricity to the states?
i think that might save the problem alot better
Hudson's Hope BC makes almost all the electricity used by BC...some of it sent to the US, and some to other parts of canada

-1- For Stargal: "The national Girl Scout organization, Girl Scouts of the USA, approves and licenses the bakers of Girl Scout cookies®. At the bakeries, the cookies are produced by American labor union members from American-grown agricultural products and wrapped in American-made packaging materials.
The approved bakers work directly with local Girl Scout councils. Each one of our 315 councils selects which baker it will work with and sets the price per box in its area."
-2- Samoas: mmmmmmmm. Those are excellent cookies.

sometimes it scares people when I tell them that I was a girl scout. I can read a compass, tie a knot and sharpen a knife.
It scares people more that I went to Baptist Church Camp for Five years of my life, during the summer. From 4th to 8th grade- became disillusioned with them when I realized they weren't going to sponsor me for the AIDS walk because "Gay People Have AIDS."

2. I'm fiending for my jammies
3. I want to start a 'two random facts' thread for those of us who can never think of a third fact....of course then I prolly wouldn't be able to think of a second random fact...then I could start a 'one random fact' thread. But then I prolly wouldn't be able to think of a single fact and prolly would never post there at all...

Cause, you know. People need to get over that crap. Dwelling on it doesn't make it go away. Gah.

1. assuming insipid is speaking in degrees F... that's -25 Celcius...
2. yesterday was -19 C here, or -2 F.
3. with the windchill it was -31 C, or -24 F.
**bonus** - 40 is one of the points on the scales where Celcius and Farenheit meet... IOW -40 C is the same as -40 F.

-1- I, too, am among the legion fans of WonkyWalkingShoe's avatar. Reminds me of my friend Jon Ross and me, and how we got the nickname "The Warhols" because we looked like art school students.
-2- I would join WWS's exchange for her best friend, and Nymphette's altered tin LMAO, but I banned myself for signing up for new things because I am so far behind. (Sorry Robyn and Holly.)
-3- I hate my horoscope for today: The Archer has a problem. Your aim might be true, but your arrows fly in slow motion. Unless you're practicing Zen or pursuing the sport's pure aesthetics, it will be hard to hit a moving target. And the things of your world are in motion. In addition, your internal landscape is enormous, distorting your perception of what's real. Even the most expressive people can't articulate what's going on in their imagination. But you don't have to justify yourself to anyone. You're happy to wander in your dream world, navigating by logic that makes perfect sense to you. I do like the last two sentences, though, because they remind me of BlueCrayon.

1. I wish I lived in a place where -25*C was reason to cancel school. It always had to be at least -40* before the bus would consider not running. Usually it did anyways.
2. At -25*C, they're still kicking elementary school kids outside for at least half an hour of lunch.
3. It's only -14*C (high of -8) here today, but I still would rather skip out on my commitments and sleep another few hours. I won't, but I would rather.
