2. If you couldn't tell before, I'm not big on change... :P

1) it may have been that way for the past few days... I've been busy moving (rooms, not houses)... but somehow I don't think we've created 4 pages of new chaingames in that amount of time. also, there seem to be some threads I don't recall seeing. Perhaps there have always been 8 pages of chaingames and my computer chose to only show me four?
1. You are right Insipid, there are now 8 pages of chain games. I think some of the older games that hadn't been posted in in a while were moved by the BoD to the archives, or whatever you want to call it, but now they are all back in the regular Q&Q section, so they must have been un-archived! And there have been a lot of chain games created lately too, so a combination of the two led to 8 pages of Q&Q...wow....we are some Q&Q freaks here

2. I have 6 pages of posts to catch up on. That's what I get for not logging into N'ness ALL weekend.

3. I love LOTS & LOTS of Nervousness stuff that I am catching up on. I hate when I am late with N'ness projects. <_<

2. i have to majorly clear out/clean up down here, and in my room.

1. I think I see Thunderstorm's avatar as a thunder storm/bolt and then the number 19... It would be animated, and really cool.

2. I found 11 cents in my desk drawer today--woo HOO!

3. One of our clients is being really demanding, and they sent up a list of things we need to do for their website. Most of the things require them to do things, which we've asked them to do but that they haven't done. I actually caught my boss getting really mad at them, and then he calmed down. He's normally a really calm person, but he said he was tired of them pulling this kind of thing... :-)

1. I ate a middle eastern pastry with my afternoon tea (honey and pistachios and flaky pastry - oh my!) and it was yummy!

2. I'm being antisocial at work - I work in an office with just 3 other people and I've put my headphones in so I have an excuse to not talk to anyone or answer the phone - I know they hate it when I do this but they also know it helps me concentrate so they don't complain.

3. I somehow managed to lose weight over Christmas despite the fact I ate exactly what I wanted and didn't go to the gym once!

1. I just turned my philosophy class into a gender studies class... so I will have two women prof's this semester. I also switched a lab section so I'm in the second week and turned my 830 math class into a 1230 math class so I can sleep in and have the same prof as last semester.

2. I also just lied to someone and said I was done at one tomorrow, instead of a more likely five.

3. I tried to switch lab sections to fix that... but I couldn't. I'll call him back in a couple hours and explain that I only lie by accident. And I'd much rather hang out with him that have a problem lab on the second day of school. Ick Ick Ick.

1: three years ago, walmart's mail-out to kodak photo service LOST three out of four of our christmas pictures... :( they were very important because they were julian's first christmas pictures and that is why we had them sent out- we wanted them done properly, not by the fifteen year old kids they had working at the in-store one hour thing.... and they lost them... they said, after much work by me of trying to trace them, and calling long distance to the differents places and numbers they said 'may' be able to help, 'the best we can do is giv eyou three free rolls of film to replace the ones we lost'.... i told the manager to shove his film up his a$$ because there is no way to replace the pictures on the film they lost!!!!!!!! all four rolls were sent together... how could the lost three out of four??? hm

2: this year, the roll of film i had in my camera got half exposed- i went to finish the roll two days ago so we could develop all our christmas pics, and the camera was back to 's' (meaning beginning of the roll) and partially opened.... :( so i rewound the film and chris took it in with the other... there were only 8 pictures salvaged...

3: i wish i had a digital camera.................

1. We have missed you lots too, Heather! :) I'm very glad to see you back!

2. I think I am going to create my own "keeping track" thread for the forums finally. I need a place to keep myself organized. I am always worried that I am going to forget to do something Nervousness-related.

3. My whole life needs a lot of organizing. I am not one for New Year's resolutions, but I am making an exception this year...... so hopefully I will be a much more organized person by the end of 2004.

Same here, absolutely. Actually, I didn't do much with LMAOs over break, but I did make a huge dent in organizing my nervousness stuff. Since I took back my 100+ library books, I had room on my bookshelf.

Shelf 1: LMAOs in my possession.
Shelf 2: Art supplies (this is still in total disarray and needs more management).
Shelf 3: Packing supplies.

I think I am going to make a keeping track thread, too, sk. I am just embarrassed about how much stuff will have to go on there!

I had a ravaging headache last night coupled with the sneezies and a sore throat, so I took some tylenol PM's cause I was going to go to bed anyway. The problem was that the PM part works too well, but they Tylenol part works terribly. I went to bed at midnight and awoke at 2 pm, and I still had a headache.

after a small serving of chocolate peanut butter ice cream, my headache has subsided. I desire more sugar snacks- a bacth of orange cinnamon rolls beckon me to bake them.

I think I'm starting to like this cooking thing. I assisted in making spaghetti last night- it's like doing crafty stuff, except you get to eat it. yummers.

bonus fact: seeing as she's quite a few sizes bigger than me, she either whines/laughs at me when I offer her something that won't fit her, or, alternatively, I get said items back, stretched beyond repair, 2 years later when my brother is moving back in and is nice enough to bring them with him. 1. I am a cat person. Dogs are too needy for my taste.... I like the independence of cats. They have their own bathroom, they bathe themselves, etc....

2. I think the above-statement goes along with my not wanting to have kids, either. I'm not a nurturer.... I mean, I love my cats, but for the most part they take care of themselves! Kids, like dogs, need you to do something other than just feed and love them! :P

1: while i wish;) i had cuilainie's problem with losing weight, sometimes it is a bad thing to lose too much too quick for unknown reasons... i think cuilainie should see a doctor so that i dont' worry about her...

2: i dont' have the patience to wait for it to grow another couple inches, but going six or seven months (after harrison being born) without thinking twice about my hair/looks it snuck up to being long... just not long enough to donate and i can't bear to chop all this red salad off and waste it!!! ;) so i am having patience for a good cause...

3: i love  heather's hairstyle choice, i can't wait to see it on her!!! :) that is what i like about short hair, the versatility for styling- i can see that style pulled over witha cute clip, or a little more curled, or tousled, or grown a bit in the back for flip....

4: i am declaring a moratorium on short hair discussion today... or i'll end up hacking mine off tonight... <_<

5: nah, post MORE pictures so i can decide how short i want to go...

6: another good thing about short hair, is the whole anility to dye/redye without a lot of damage, since you get it cut more often!!!!! (though i don't think i'd go platinum again... wasn't my best look ever.. but i have the pics to prove i did it- my brother didn't believe i bleached my hair!!!) :)

2. Jordan declared that yesterday couldn't be our official first date because it was his sister's birthday, so it can't be our anniversary. I think that's looking pretty far ahead... but not in a bad way.
3. This means for our first date (and really, my first real date pretty much ever) we had hot chocolate at his house, wandered the mall for a bit, and saw "Radio" before coming back to my place for a bit. 1. Robyn's post immediatly made me think of a Dana Carvey stand up special from years ago with him talking about his kids running around naked. According to him, they were so obsessed with being disrobed, that he and his wife had to set aside 1 hour each night (from 7 to 8) to be "naked time" for the kids. They would stand around just before 7:00 quaking with anticipation.... as soon as the clock struck 7, clothes went a-flying! :P

2. My younger sister went through a streaking phase around the time she was 3 or 4. As soon as mom pulled her out of the tub, she'd wriggle free and go streaking through the house, giggling. My grandfather was a frequent visitor, and it really embarassed him (he was one of 5 brothers, and he and my grandmother only had sons....). I can still remember him saying "Don't show me that!" as she ran through the living room... Ah, memories!

3. To round out my post about nudity... a though paraphrased from Lewis Grizzard. Do you know the difference between naked and neked? Naked is being without clothes. Neked is being without clothes, and up to something! :P

1. My name on my birth certificate is Reid. My grandmother still spells it that way.
2. I changed it when I was five, because about 98% of people said "oh, is that R-E-E-D?" and I was tired of it all. The other thing they always said was "Oh, that must be because you read a lot!"
3. Most dictionaries will tell you this comes from Anglo-Saxon read, meaning "red" or "red-haired." While this is possible, it strikes me as unlikely, because one of the common second elements in many Anglo-Saxon names is ræd (also simply spelled red, and pronounced either "rad" or "red"). This word still exists, in the rare word "rede" meaning lore, (good) counsel, plan, story, explanation. Perhaps I'm biased, but that's the version I like to think my name comes from.

3. I think a few people here (including me) would appreciate a battle monkey action figure...

-1- I think the seagulls in Finding Nemo squawking "mine mine mine" was a brilliant move.

-2- This is just too much lunch for me. It's bowtie pasta. Yummy, but too filling.

-3- They are calling for "light snow" tomorrow. Groan. I hate snow!

1: i was going to have a salad for lunch, but all this talk about pasta has me craving the leftover vermicelli with peanut sauce....... mmmmmmmm..... julian loved it- peanut butter and honey on 'sketti'??? what could be better than that!!! :) he helped me make the sauce... forget the other ingredients, mom made sketti and peebah and hunny!!!!

2: i love these two boys more every day.... you all must think (know??) i dont have a life to be talking about them so much.....

1. I like hearing you talk about your boys, Nymphette! :) I don't think it means you have "no life" - I am actually very jealous! I wish I had two cutie kids to spend my day with :)

2. I have lots of lines/wrinkles under my eyes. Especially when I smile. Is it normal for a 23 year old girl to have wrinkles under her eyes? I think it's because I should wear glasses - but I don't - so I squint a lot. I don't even notice I'm squinting but my mom always gets mad at me when she sees me watch tv because apparantly I squint A LOT. I guess I should just suck it up & go to the eye doctor.

3. I should suck it up & go to the dentist too..... but I'm scared

3a. On New Year's Day our mayor declared that God put him here and gave him (and nobody else) a vision for the city.

3b. A few days later, the city coucil rejected 5 of his appointees.

3c. This is the first time this has happened here!

3d. The editorial cartoon in the paper this morning was a picture of the mayor with his foot in his mouth.

2: my grandma was elvis's biggest fan.. ;)

3: i hve a million things to do today and none of them involve me sitting here playing chain games.... but we'll just ignore that because harrison's sleeping and julian is doing puzzles and all is quiet in the larter household.... ;)

1. Sharky's post in Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down about circus peanuts has me remembering my grandfather.... He used to always keep them in the house for me.

2. Every time I think of something to post here, I end up thinking it would be better served in another thread.... What are you wearing?, Today's Firsts, Annoying commercials... etc.

3. I hope Sirius and Brian have a good time on their trip... can I tag along? It sounds like fun!

2. I'm pondering, cereal or chicken? I got up less than half an hour ago. I'm thinking cereal cause it's easy... Oh but it's noon. Need to have a LUNCH! pah.

2. I don't think I've ever licked the glue off a bed.

3. I think the action figures are a great idea. We need giant guinea pigs too, and probably pregnant aliens.

2. I wouldn't normally buy an action figure for myself

3. I need to get into action and get out of her and go pick up my daughter because she keeps calling me on her cell phone complaining that she's tired of waiting for me to come get her

2. It's not like me to bring personal problems to work, but that's what I've done.

1: my sister called me to ask if i thought she should come over for h's birthday supper tomorrow (party is next weekend) because she's been feeling funny and dind't want him to catch whatever is brewing in her system....

2: after comparing symptoms (becuse i have been feeling 'funny' lately too) we have parallels on the following symptoms, from the past three days:

a: feeling dizzy in the head, but not oh-my-god-i'm-dizzy- dizzy, just a kind of weird dizzy... neither of us could explain it but we both knew wht the other meant....
b: we both have been megasuperduper tired the past three days- i passed mine off to being because i played chain games until 5 am the other night...
c: we both felt short of breath yesterday after drinking a similar-type of beverage- she had a bottle of chocolate milk, i had a mug of hot chocolate with julian... we both felt like we couldnt' get enough O2 withing a few second of drinking our drinks, and it went away within fifteen minutes... we both blamed it on tummies full of liquid that must have been pressing on our diaphragms...
d: i called my mom at work 2x yesterday and no answer, which is strange because she was at work and if she doesn't answer her phone, it rings through to the main line at her office... my sister called me twice today and i didn't answer either time, which was weird because i was here, and she didnt' call me... i didn't call my mom at work either, brainiac here called her HOME number... and my sister called HER home number... not mine....
e: we both woke up with sore throats today
f: we both had swollen legs yesterday and had worries about them popping like a balloon if they got bumped or something... and both thought about what would happen if we actually stuck a fork in them....

okay
so i think there is some alien bacteria that has used us as a host.... not sure where they are going with this.... but it actually left both my sister and me freaked out at the weirness of it all!!!!!!!

3:if someone else had the same symptoms the past three days, i'm going to panic!!! ;)

1 we got harrison's bloodwork done tonight... well, chris got it done, i went shopping.... blah..... 41 for an ammonia... which is sort of high, but i'll take it!!!!

2 as i drove up to the hospital, i had to pass the main entrance to go around to emergency and it hit me- it had been exactly one year- even to the time @ 9:00 pm- since i drove up there with the hope filled expectation of having my beautiful baby and taking him home with me.... i had to pull over because i was crying... it has been such a year since then, it really hit me as to the difference of what has happened, and to what our expectations were, before we found out about his disorder.... one year since i felt those labor pains, those anticipation thrills, that imaptience to have that perfect little man in my arms... it actually hit me really hard, since it never even occured to me before that very second when i drove up there....

3 i wonder how i'll feel on the morning of the 11th...... that was when he crashed and was sent to the nicu....

A Trip To Holland
By Emily Perl Kingsley

I am often asked to describe the experience of raising a child with a disability -- to try to help people who have not shared that unique experience to understand it, to imagine how it would feel. It's like this...

When you're going to have a baby, it's like planning a fabulous vacation trip to Italy. You buy a bunch of guidebooks and make your wonderful plans... the Coliseum, the Sistine Chapel, Gondolas. You may learn some handy phrases in Italian. It's all very exciting.

After several months of eager anticipation, the day finally arrives. You pack your bags and off you go. Several hours later, the plane lands. The stewardess comes in and says, "Welcome to Holland!" "Holland?" you say. "What do you mean, Holland? I signed up for Italy. I'm supposed to be in Italy. All my life I've dreamed of going to Italy." But there's been a change in the flight plan. They've landed in Holland and there you must stay.

The important thing is that they haven't taken you to a horrible, disgusting, filthy place full of pestilence, famine, and disease. It's just a different place. So, you must go out and buy new guidebooks. And you must learn a whole new language. And you will meet a whole new group of people you would never have met. It's just a different place. It's slower paced than Italy, less flashy than Italy. But after you've been there for a while and you catch your breath, you look around. You begin to notice that Holland has windmills. Holland has tulips. And Holland even has Rembrandts.

But everyone you know is busy coming and going from Italy, and they're all bragging about what a wonderful time they had there. And for the rest of your life you will say, " Yes, that's where I was supposed to go. That's what I had planned." And the pain of that experience will never, ever, ever, go away. The loss of that dream is a very significant loss.

But if you spend your life mourning the fact that you didn't get to Italy, you may never be free to enjoy the very special, the very lovely things about Holland.
