- I don't like wearing shoes, they're a necessity my feet and I deplore. I'll wear sandals the very first day I can get away with it and not freeze my toes off (I have bad circulation...)

- I am slowly coming to terms with the fact that my marriage failed and it's really nobody's fault, just a case of the right person, but the wrong time and place, and bad circumstances besides. It's a shame, but I'll live - took me a year to get to that point.

- I love sushi. I'm going to have sushi for lunch for a second day in a row! :D

Me too, me too! Taking off my shoes is the first thing I do when I come home at night. It seems so odd to me when people wear shoes around the house. Like when Mr. Rogers would come home and take off his dress shoes and put on his sneakers. Who does that??

1. Today was great, I just painted for hours. I love when I get inspired and actually get some work done. And it's for my friends birthday so I now have a present for her.
2. I met a boy 2 days ago that I really like and he likes me :) I guess it's just weird cause I haven't been with a different guy for 3 1/2 years.

Oh my! I'm the same. I can remember ~useless~ bits of trivia, but I can't remember what I've planned for tomorrow. And I can't even remember that trivia when I'm specifically asked about it.

So, my facts:

- I'm 27, single, and I live in Paris. It's not a bad way to be alive... :D

- I love The Tragically Hip. To bits. My CDs are just about worn out from having been played so often. And second best, so close it almost doesn't make a difference, is R.E.M.

- I have a very flexible voice. It can go from very high when I'm excited or upset, to low and husky in the right circumstances... Like now.
(I've got a cold, dammit! Get your minds out of the gutter!!! lol)
Same goes with my singing voice, which is usually low. (I can sing the songs by the bands mentioned above at key.)

1. Julie, one of the best pieces of wisdom I ever received was that the "right time" for having a baby never comes - there are always financial, career, relationship issues looming over life. You have to follow your heart, not your head. When I had my child, we were in debt, I was working as a contractor and could be out of work at a moment's notice, the marriage wasn't perfect - all of that. But my daughter is the most wonderful thing in my life, and I can't imagine her being any different than she is, or anything but 8 years and 2 months old right now. Just go an play Paul Simon's "Born at the Right Time" a few times through. :)

2. I love the seasons. All of them.

3. Some day I will make a bumper sticker that reads "I don't need to be born again - mom got it right the first time."

1. Good luck, AlienSpy, with whatever happens... What you're trying to do is AMAZING, and I could never do it, for that I applaud you.

2. Yeah, I love kids, but I don't think I would ever want my own. I'd rather just spoil my Max-kitty and Sammy-puppy... Sammy is coming into his own personality, and I love it. I had no idea that I would like a big lab dog who thinks he's a lap dog so much. He's really protective of me, though we have little fights and he tries to pretend he's not a big puddle of drool...LOL. I really hope he never realizes that sometimes he scares me because he is a big dog.

3. I think we're having a bonfire tomorrow night. I want to go to the Outlets (about 15 minutes away) tonight because I want to buy books and some pans, but I know that I'll have to clean up the house (Nness stuff has the habit of 'spreading' all around the house) so I am a little conflicted.

--one more--
4. I am a little confused because they moved boston Public to Friday nights, which conflicts with a new show I want to watch "Joan of Arcadia." We don't have cable, but I have a core group of shows (Boston Public, CSI, ER, Still Standing) that i like to watch (not counting simsons sunday). I never thought I'd be able to live without cable, but we're doing nicely, considering my DVD habit. LOL.

- I'm addicted to Nness and chain games. My resolve not to turn on the computer has failed pathetically. "I need a bit of a break," thinks I, "let's go read the posts..." But I'm going away for the weekend, where there is no computer and no internet connection...

- I just realized that I was beginning to forget a very important lesson life taught me (the hard way again) a few years ago : everything happens for a reason. Life takes you where you need to be. So relax and enjoy the ride, or try not to worry too much about it...

- I will listen to my head - usually a bossy, blunt, assertive part of me - I will listen to my body - dancing will do that to you - but I have a lot of trouble listening to my heart. Considering the kind of scrapes it's gotten me into... That's where point n°2 comes in. *g*

2. Even though summer is my least favorite season, I am starting to come to terms with its ending. My only travel goal this summer was to make it to the coast (which is only a 5 hour drive away!) but I didn't make it. *sigh* Maybe next summer.

Wow, I never expected so much support from all of you! Thank you, that means so much to me!

I know that my parents won't think it's a good idea for us to have a baby at the moment (mostly because of our financial situation) and that makes me sad. They probably think I'm too young, too. (I'm almost 24 and my boyfriend is almost 30, which is not that young, but I don't have my degree yet, so... :( )

But I won't get pregnant right away anyway so maybe my parents can get used to the idea before I actually have the baby. And my boyfriend is a little scared (I'm scared too but I think it's perfectly normal) so we'll read about it, we'll talk to people who have kids, etc. I've always liked to start planning ahead of time so maybe we'll start trying in a few months! :)

Oops... My 3 facts now.

2. My ex-girlfriend wants to date me again. Matt said it was fine. Why did he say that? Doesn't he want me by myself? I told Rachael (my ex, and my best friend, we dated for 1 1/2 years) that I wanted a monogous (spelled?) relationship, like I did last year, but she wanted to date guys with me. So, we aren't going back out.

I got a rhine stone choker, a 1" button that says "Bah- Humbug", a package of lace, a pakage of hand made paper, a halter top, an old cigar box, and a paint brush. 2. I just bought a typewriter from the estate sale I talked about in my last post on this thread. Today everything was half off, so it was only $5. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do to make the letters come off darker, I'm pretty sure I have to replace the ribbon or something. Excuse my complete lack of knowledge for typewriter stuff. 'Fraid next March is a bit unrealistic... Though I'd LOVE to see the show. I try to avoid to Great Parisian August Exodus - I don't like to be crowded when I'm travelling!
September/October 2004, maybe a bit later is a safer bet. Need to save up the money for it - just the plane fare will kill me (Paris-Mexico City, Vancouver-Paris... *Triples* the price!!!) and I don't want to touch my savings - those are for buying an appartment in a few years. Good thing I'm starting a better paid job next Wednesday!

My facts (road trip-related!)
- One of my best friends lives in Mexico City, and I promised her my next trip would be to visit with her. So my road trip starts there.

- I'm considering for the very first time of my life travelling alone for 5 weeks, crossing two national borders and something like 6 American states. For now, I'm looking at a Greyhound bus pass - I could rent a car or buy a used one... It's a mark of how European I've become that I hadn't even considered it till now!

- The trip ends in Vancouver because I love that city, and there is no way in hell I'm landing or taking off from the US. Sorry folks, but the security's just too crazy for me.

And a bonus - Reed, I love how you make those blinkers blink out-of-sync!

Do this if you are too scared to dye your hair:
Cut off a lock of your hair from underneath where it won't show. Put some clear tape around the top 1/3 of the hair. Mix up the dye and dye the rest of the hair as directed. Dry it. then you can see the hair before and after and decide if you can go through with it.

2. The illustrations are beautiful. I bought it because I want to frame the pages and hang them on my walls. I found it in a bin of books for $1 and I thought it might be in the wrong place because most of the other books in the bin were crappy - but the cashier said she would just give it to me for $1 (I think because the store was busy & she didn't want to do a price check...LUCKY ME!)

3. My car only has 31,000 miles on it and it has spent nearly one third of the time I've owned it in the friggen shop.

4. I am so annoyed about this that I am considering pushing it off a damn cliff.

1) After hearing Meika rant about her demon car, I realized that it's about time I have the oil changed in my car or I may be facing the same situation!

2) My backyard is a minefield of dog poop! Cross at your own risk!!!!

I have been driven to distraction by infatuation...

I ride my bike almost every night at midnight.

I just saw American Splendor. I found much of it all too familiar - starting from the fact that part of the reason I went to see it was to avoid cleaning my apartment.

There was a woman sitting behind me who had an absurd laugh which, in any other movie, would have been annoying as hell, but in this one was, once you got used to it, exactly appropriate.

There's a guy just up the street from my apartment who restores old wooden carousel animals, and also carves some from scratch, I think. I walk past his workshop/garage all the time. Got to stop and talk to him sometime - he's a very serious craftsman, and what he does is just so different.

*waves at Lilac* Thank you. :D I can return the compliment!

- I've attended an informal marriage ceremony yesterday evening.

- I'm trying to send a big file by email, and I am getting frustrated with Yahoo for the first time in a long while.

I, too, have trouble accepting compliments gracefully.

Cuilanie looks very...Parisian. Very classic, intelligent and artsy!

I'm tired from all the driving I've done this weekend, but I don't feel like going to bed just yet.

I made a pig of myself yesterday at a restaurant where they had all you can eat crab legs. I think I made Ryan (my co-worker) nauseous.

I don't think I can spell "nauseous."

My sister gave me a tiny pink newborn wild mouse about a month ago. I fed the little thing out of an eye dropper like 5 times a day for two weeks. Surprisingly, it lived and is now full grown. She's sitting on a cabinet next to my computer desk as we speak and chewing furiously at the bars of her cage, wanting to escape. The ungrateful little bitch! :P

~ On my walk to work there is one house with a huge bush of rosemary in the front garden (which I love because its my namesake) and as I pass I run my fingers through it so I can smell it on my hand

Tell me, how do you like it?

- I didn't post much today.
- It's cold today, like 10°C or something. Very unusual for early October. I predict either snow for Christmas, or a tropical storm. Bets are open.

- I'm tired of the weather not being what it should be. I miss Indian summer in Quebec.

- I'm going to miss a show I wanted to see because I've had a meeting that ended late, and there's no point in rushing now, so I'm here playing chain games instead. Yes, I'm still at work. <_<

- My check from my old job still hasn't been deposited. I'm getting worried about my finances. :(

Bonus fact : someone's mixed up my leather jacket with theirs - at least I'm hoping that's what happened, because I can't find mine but I found someone else's, with house keys in the pocket... I'm going to wear it home tonight, because see point one : it's cold outside!!!

1. After lunch, I got a craving for licorice bridge mix.

2. At the grocery store, there were no bags of licorice bridge mix, and only a few pieces of it left in the bulk candy dispenser.

3. I bought what was there, along with jelly beans (mostly licorice). I've eaten too many of them already; am starting to get queasy.

I am definately going kayaking tonight! The weather is beautiful and I don't want to waste this day!

I have a good friend, who I love dearly, who has just "discovered" religion and she keeps harping on me to attend church with her and sends me religous emails everyday. (I know...run on sentance. I suck.)

I need to find some sort of religion myself, but am not sure which way to turn. As a child, I was forced to attend a very strict Baptist church with my grandmother, and that experience kind of soured me on the whole organized religion thing.

Medeous, are you a kindergarten teacher? My mom is and I have helped with all kinds of kindergarten artwork over the years!

Me too and I don't even live in California. My condolences!

I have lower back pain

I had to walk out of my ballet class for awhile tonight because they were talking about "those people on welfare" again.

I get very angry when middle and upper class people who have no clue about what it is like to be poor start talking like that.

1. I have been listening to Arnold's speech excerpts on the radio and have become certain I am living in an alternate reality.

2. Cuilanie needs to change her avatar. There's only so long a morally centered man can live with the desire to French-kiss an infant without becoming certain he is living in an alternate reality.

3. Bluecrayon QA'd me today to confess her total surrender to the "speaking of..." thread, and I'm tempted to confess I'm doing it all for the wise and compassionate giant prehistoric guinea pigs, but I don't want to force them to transfer me to an alternate reality before I'm ready.

Yes, there is an alternate reality in which the "Three Random Facts" thread persisted sensibly, without allusions to chain games and politicized mammalian species.

One has to love the internet, in the end.

Weeird. I took his room when he left, so he has to sleep on teh couch. i feel guilty becuase he doesn't coem home often. And yet... I feel so wickedly good about it becuase- GEE! he IS my little Brother. I liek to treat him like crap sometimes.

I just got a wicked killer Devilman Toy from Singapore from Said brother. Way belated B-day present.

*bonus* I will not be surprised if my excursion to the post office tomorrow exceeds $25. Good thing I have money.
