Another of my online haunts is down at the moment, so let's see what happens if people here do a search at
Google (http://www.google.com) for their nicknames here on Nervous - or their real names.
After all fun things may turn up...
for me it was

I must try to regain contact with some of the great people from The Garden Eos Development..Where we Live (http://www.eosdev.com/Nature/StoryEntry.htm)

I've done this heaps of times in my name (Dulcie Stewart) and all of the results except 1 had nothing to do with me. The 1 that had to do with me was from a guestbook I signed in. I've also done one for cieart but i can't remember the results.

been wanting to post this earlier but the headache was bothering me too much yeserday.
so here here, this currently comes up at the top if you google my name:
Shafina's Gaye Quotes (http://www.geocities.com/foxygoddess27/shafequotes.html)
a friend of mine actually pointed it out a couple of months ago. i've even linked the page on my site - with a disclaimer!

I did something like this over on LJ awhile back. Except mine was "[name] is" instead of just your name. Here are a few of my favorites:
"jadestar is trusted by: none yet." (from epinions.com)
"To Adessa he whispered, 'Jadestar is my dragon.'" (from an elfwood site)
"Now Jadestar is a bad ass Paladin that takes no shit!" (from a skullduggery site... http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif)
"Debbie is Suffering." (from disciples.org)
"I hate to inform you but Debbie is a slut" (also from disciples.org) (oh, and I'm not a slut...)
"Debbie Hoffman is a champion a fighter for women's rights and a successful independent trucker." (from doubletrucks.com)
"The indexing method used by Jayde is somewhat different than the methods used by other search engines." (from jayde.com)
"Jayde is one princess that you wouldn't want to upset. ...
Well Jayde is supposed to be tiny but I think you're right about this one." (from elfwood)
"Jayde, is an evil drag queen wannabe, that crossed my path
when i was first coming out." (from oasismag.com)
Well, I found them humorous. When you search for my full name, you actually come up with some accurate results. Well, the two from the Capt's Log, anyway. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I did the google "Name is" thing a while back (for my name Lela) and I mostly got dogs and cats (pedigree's mind you) and also a *sex worker* advertising her services! The funny thing about the sex worker tho, was she had a comments page where her clients could post how good she is!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm...when I searched for Death Or Aldona google found LOTS of obituaries. When I search for Jaime Rowe I found a bunch of stuff about some christian music singer...weirdness! http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Helquin
10-09-2002, 01:39 AM
My real name (super top-secret!) is all over the internet, because I share it with a prominent Australian and a football player who is literally twice my size (he weighs in at 270 lbs).
Most of the Helquins returned by any search engine are me, because I researched the name years ago before I started using it as my former home-business name. It used to return only a few hits: some awful painting called "Helquin's Tempest" and the etymology of the word "harlequin." I believe it is also a not-uncommon French surname, so you can get more hits by not limiting the search to English-language sites.
Since I designed some popular blog templates for the BlogSkins site earlier this year, the Helquin name is now *everywhere* online... all of those "Design by Helquin" credits pop up. So woohoo! I beat Shafina in the Googlefight (http://www.googlefight.com/cgi-bin/compare.pl?q1=shafina&q2=helquin&B1=I%27m+Feeling+Groggy%21%21+Go%21&compare=1&langue=us)! http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
titancia
10-09-2002, 04:04 PM
I typed in my entire name, and this page popped up:
http://www.geocities.com/titanicsunset/wroompp.html
Figures the poem itself wouldn't be linked! (By the way, it's super cool, because I really DID write that poem it's supposed to be linked to)
Hey! My LJ popped up on the first search for titancia! How cool is that?
I did a search on my user name under images, and nothing came up, and it wouldn't let me do "dawn cathlene." It kept changing it to dawn catharine!

hey! for guineababy, my lj popped up and so did sadblueangel's because I'm on her list. Nervousness and Laundromatic popped up as well as the bigbigforums website I'm on.
typing in aquaticspackle (my yahoo and username in some places) It popped up one thing...I'm a part of the jake gyllenhaal yahoo club. I forgot about that! lol

JustSu
10-09-2002, 07:01 PM
there is apparently a martial art form called justsu. the first hit was me, then a lot that aren't and scattered in here and there, a few that are. weird. hey, i knew i was pretty scrappy, but .... http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
and my offline name is just too bleeding common to be meaningful. even my not so common maiden name is shared with a figure skater of international prominence, an actor, a town in texas, and several geographic features in south carolina (no surprise - that's where my idiot kin settled when they came over from ireland) sigh.

i'll have to learn it so that i can use it to kick your butt someday.http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif wouldn't that be a wonderful twist of irony?
to those of you thinking i'm violent, i promise that su gave me permission to beat her up. in fact, i believe she encouraged it by telling me that i'd have a place to crash after said butt kicking.:-p

mejaka
10-10-2002, 10:20 AM
When I search mejaka, I get all my bookcrossing pages plus something about African politics on a website designed by a Miran Mejak.
When I search my real name, I get a bunch of little bits and pieces I wrote--bedtime rituals, homemaking class ideas, the pre-Y2K parody verse (with the end line "Pass this on to everyone you know!"), stuff like that--plus some photography archive index entries that include Janna, Mauldin, and Heiner, all referring to different people, and a homynym list from U. Mass. that lists homynyms for Janna, Heiner and Mauldin.
When I just searched Janna, I found this, made all the more weird because my brother's name is John...

GuineaBaby, I think I spot a trend here. Are you sure you don't have a secret side business involving your little piggies and their fur? Not to mention the genetic testing with... what's more appropraite...guinea pigs! Shameful http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
That Prior-Art-O-Matic thing is hilarious!

Kerri
Kerri is an alcoholic drink that secretes a sticky glue! It keeps your breath fresh for up to twenty-four hours and is perfectly safe to use. (Drinking and glue--non-toxic to boot-- what could be better?)
On Google, BreezyK comes up on livejournal, one nervous LMAO, xander1108's website (oh, the honor http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif ) and a German hairstyling website.
