hey everyone. i wanted to start this topic becuase i was thinking.. how can something be a surprise RAOK if people don't know what others want?? and if we don't know their address's? well, i can see why some people feel uncomfortable leaving their personal information online.. but, i guess we'll just have to trust other people in this community. :huh:
anyway, you can write down your wishlist, and then your address, and if anybody feels nice and have any item on your list available, then they can send it to you, and it'll be like your birthday on any given day. SO! i'll get it started.

It's nice to have a place to write a wishlist without being too realistic about it - to include the things I don't really think anyone else will have just in case, and to list everything I can think of without feeling too greedy about it because it's random. I also like the getting-to-know-you aspect of wishlists, because some of the ones I read seem to say a lot about people's personality and interests.

Hmmm I feel kind of guilty and/or greedy doing this but it is almost my birthday (Oct. 8) and I am very broke so... yeah, I still feel guilty/greedy... but anyway... here goes. This is the (long) list of stuff I want.

Artwork:
*ATCs - Made by YOU! Ones that you are especially proud of (as long as you can bear to part with them, haha). I would like to start a collection. Mainly for my own enjoyment, but also as inspiration so I can start making my own! Be sure to sign the back and put your Nness ID on it (your address too if you would like one in return once I begin to make my own).
*Art or Altered Dolls - Made by YOU! I want dark, voodoo, gothic or just plain odd little dolls!
*Matchbox/Mint Tin Shrines - Made by YOU! Dark, scary, Halloween themes are always a hit with me, otherwise something you are proud of!
*Any other random art and altered objects made by you!

Themes I like: Asian stuff (India and Japan specifically), Egyptian stuff, ankhs especially, travel in general, victorian/vintage/old and distressed looking, all things dark and spooky/"gothic", bats (as in the animal!), stars, tattoos, Halloween & Dia De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead ... favorite colors: black red and purple, And that is all I can think of right now, but I am sure that is enough.

Art supplies:
*ATC sleeves - You know, the 9 cards per page plastic sheets you can put in a 3-ring binder!
*Thick, quality ATC blanks - all colors and textures, as long as it's fairly strong.
*Clear resist stamp pad
*Rubber stamps - non-cutesy/country, like Victorian, antique looking objects or weird stamps, medical looking (like the Phren Nness head!), gothic/dark, architectural, abstract, backgrounds, borders, travel themed, etc.
*Permanent/archival ink pads - any colors.
*Various papers - any sizes, printed, colored/textured tissue or rice paper, hand made, vellum etc.
*Small trinkets and found objects - again, Victorian/old and just plain crazy or odd little things.
*Assorted fibers
*Aluminum tape - ya' know. Looks like shiny, shiny tin foil with a sticky side! I think it's a bit thicker though.
*Match boxes, altoid (especially the mini ones) or mint tins with hinged lids (or aol cd tins)
*Shrink Plastic
*Unique postage - Cancelled or not. Foreign preferred but odd US postage is cool also!
*Assorted colors of fine or detail embossing powders - (I have black, gold, and platinum so I don't need those.)
*Dominos - any size or material as long as they are ivory in color.

I am moving to a new apartment today, and decided to post here, maybe get some fun mail at my new place! I have lots to send others too, as I unpack allll those boxes marked STUDIO.

Most of all, I would like things to decorate the studio. I'm all about bright colors, sparkly things, and rainbows. In particular, I'd love artwork such as shrines, altered board books, art dolls, small assemblages, etc. But even just funky silk scarves from the thrift store would rock! Whatever you can think of for a nesting color fiend. :)

oh dear i haven't been on nervousness in a couple of years!!! how is everyone? i am gong to go & sieve through & see what i can do to help with wishlists...
i've got some little things on my lists i suppose... although i really do not exactly know or feel so comfortable asking for things because i jus spent almost 4 years in a very badly abusive relationship- i barely even recognized it as so. i'm very sad but i guess i'd say i love music, esp. music that involves recovery from abusive. ie. red jumpsuit apparatus' "face down" & pearl jam's "better man"... i still love angels, sparkly things, zines i suppose although i really don't own any anymore, or much of anthing anymore, so i wish i had some things to decorate my new apartment in so i feel safe because i am all alone. i lost all my stufies including the one stuffed animal my dad gave me and that was before he died on March 20th 2006 so when i said i lost everything in this abusive relationship, being evisted to losing everyting that meant anything because i got hurt abused and manipulated everyday i'm really not kidding or exaggerating. if only i was.... i love things that glow in the dark. i don't remember much of who i was exactly before because that was swept awaybut i want to be a wonderful nervousness friend. i'm just very shy and timid right now...

I hadn't gone thru this thread for ages until yesterday, and so now I have some stuff ready to send out to a few of my fellow Nervousnessers.

I would like some of these things please:


*some funky fibres in 12" length or longer - I use these a lot in my art and I'm getting sick of using the same ones over and over. If you prefer, we can arrange a swap - some of my fibres for some of yours.
*paper or fabric flowers such as prima flowers, Bazzill etc. - I also use tons of these and I'm running very low on them, so if you have any lying around, I'd be so happy if you sent them this way.
*basically any interesting or vintage ephemera that I can use for making decos etc (I make loads of decos for other people, so anything I could use would be very, very much appreciated).
