I do not know anything about it, but stumbled on FridayFive.Org. It looks like it might be helpful questions to get bloggers going on Fridays? Anyway, I thought it might be fun to incorporate into NNESS.

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not?

a used palm m505 off ebay and a keyboard
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why?

4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it? Like 5 bucks a week... it was pretty sad
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing?
When I went clothes shopping for my 8 month daughter she is between 12mos and 18mos in size I went with ALL 18mos so she could grow into them... she has stopped growing quite so quickly so she has big baggy clothes for the last month.

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not? - depends on the item. No for music/cloths. Yes for craft, t-shirts (these are not cloths!) and books
2. What was the last thing you purchased? yarn and beads, yesterday
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why? while in Israel - online. Supply of things I like (craft supplies, books, zines, shirt etc.) is limited and expensive. Abroad - abroad - at stores
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it? 3 nis. It was something like 2$ back then and .60$ today. It was enough for a magazine and some trinkets, though!
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing?
Fly's book, 'Peops'. A great book but shipping costs almost as much as the book...

Hey...thanks for reminding me! I've been :trying: to do this in my livejournal. I suck at keeping that thing updated :P
1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not?
Yes and No. I hate flourescent lights, big stores, crowds. I love shopping for toys and trinkets and crafy goodness. I HATE shopping for food and household blah. I don't really shop much...
2. What was the last thing you purchased?
Cherry Coke
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why?
I don't shop online because I don't have a credit card, BUT I do think I would prefer online. No lines, no traffic, no crowds...sure there are drawbacks. I don't know...I'd like to have the option I suppose. I live in a fairly small town. I'm always running into stuff online that I want that I could never find around here.
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it?
No, not really. I sometimes got paid to clean house.
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing?
A pack of ciggies on Thanksgiving Day. I just let myself down...that day was a pretty icky. I haven't purchased any since though.

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not?
yeah. i like looking at stuff and getting cool stuff.
2. What was the last thing you purchased?
there was no sales tax in montana. i got a small paper cutter, a pack of cardstock, and some of those stix markers that smell. yes, i do have markers, but i have this compulsion about complete sets. if one gets lost, it's ruined.
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why? online. no travel, and the stuff comes right to the house, BUT the unexpected sale is so good.
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it? a dollar a week
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing? some food from planet apizza.

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not? yes, but i prefer going with someone for the company
2. What was the last thing you purchased? chips, pop. juice for the bus tomorrow, and batteries
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why? if i can't get it in person, then online, but i prefer the actual store because i don't have to pay for shipping and handling!!!
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it? depends...sometimes i did...i remember in grade 4 we had a chores list, and we each (me and my sister, and my cousin when he lived with us) had to sign up for 3 chores, but we could sign up for more, and they each had a different amount (like, vacuming the stairs was worth more than vacuming the living room). we were only allowed to sign up for one chore that we had done the week before, though. When we had a wood stove, we got money for stacking the wood. And we could get money for extras, too...like washing the walls/windows...polishing my dad's boots, etc.
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing? a shirt i got at Salvation Army...it fit me ok, but it's not that good of a fit, and i shouldn't have bought it....but, it was only 25¢

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not?
I love to shop. Most of the time it's just window-shopping. Lately, I've been looking around in Crate and Barrel, Conran Shop, and Pottery Barn, but that's because I'm renovating and redecorating my apartment, and am looking for ideas.
2. What was the last thing you purchased?
Three gallons of paint and new electric outlets for my living room
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why?
I like to do some research online first, but I want to touch the merchandise before I buy it.
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it?
No, my family didn't bother with giving allowances. If I wanted anything within reason, I could have it.
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing?
A pair of black jeans that are too long. I know how to shorten them, but just haven't been bothered to do it. So, I bought two more pairs in the right length, but haven't decided whether to donate the long pair to the clothing collection box or shorten them someday.

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not?
I tend to go back and forth on shopping. I'll go through phases where I stop and shop somewhere almost every day. Then I'll hit a spell where I won't go to the store for a month. I'm currently in a shopping funk, which sucks at Christmastime!
2. What was the last thing you purchased?
XM radio for my hubbys birthday on Monday.
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why?
Yes. :P I'm about 50-50 on online vs. actual shopping. If I know what I want and there's no question about the "feel", I order it online. I hardly ever buy clothes online for that reason. I also do a lot of catalogue shopping -- we're to the point where we receive at least 20 catalogues a week. Sometimes the pile-up of catalogues can be frustrating, but they also make good collage material! :P
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it?
I don't remember having an ongoing allowance, but I'd get a few dollars here and there for doing odd jobs around the house. By the time I was 12, I had several regular weekly babysitting jobs, so that negated the need for allowance from my parents.
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing?
I ordered some PJ's online from Victoria's secret, and when they arrived they were HUGE! I re-packaged them to send them back for a refund, but then forgot to. Once I realized I still hadn't sent them back, it was too late for a refund...

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not?
<span style='color:purple'>Sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it. I really LOVE buying new stuff, it's an obsession really, but I hate buying things if I HAVE to buy them, if I NEED to buy a dress for a wedding for example I just have the hardest time shopping, but if I have an extra $30 to spend on whatever I want then I love shopping! :)
2. What was the last thing you purchased?
Groceries last night. I hate spending money on food.
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why?
Online most definitely! Most of my family & friends don't have the patience to shop with me in a store and I don't like going to stores alone very much, so online stores are perfect for me and it's much easier to compare prices online.
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it?
Nope. I never got an allowance, though I didn't EVER have to do chores so I guess that was fair. I did have to babysit my sister a lot during my childhood, but my parents didn't really have the money to pay me for watching her, and I didn't really expect to be paid anyway.
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing?</span>
Chinese food for dinner last weekend - because all I kept thinking of were things that I could have used that money for besides stupid chinese food that wasn't so great anyway!

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not?
I love shopping online, and in well-organized and uncrowded stores that I can afford.
2. What was the last thing you purchased?
The last thing I purchased was a slice of white pizza and a piece of tomato bread, for dinner last night.
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why?
I prefer shopping online because I can take longer to decide on something without a salesperson breathing down my neck, and because I don't have to drive/park, and because other customers aren't in my way. Of course, I do spend a lot more when I shop online. And I can't buy clothes online unless they are t-shirts or sweaters.
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it?
I supposedly got an allowance in grade school, but my dad rarely paid up. I think it was $2 a week. In high school it was $5 a week, and my mom paid me.
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing?
Ummm, I don't know! Probably the Christmas present I got for Lily, my best friend's baby. I could have done better, but the saleswoman was putting a lot of pressure on me and I caved.

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not?
i used to hate it, especially this time of year, but now that ihave kids it's more fun... not that i dont' ram my cart into other lumps once in a while... and give the occasional dirty look to the four people congregated around the checkouts standing around chatting and taking up space..... and cursing the idiots who just stand there in front of the shelves looking when you need somwthing there and they ignor eyou when you politely say'excuse me'..... hmmm... no... i still hate it!!!!!!
2. What was the last thing you purchased?
diapers and ihle's paste for harrison
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why?
i WOULD prefer online but we don't have any credit cards so we can't.... so i will ahve to say at a store.. though that's a lie considering the first question... ;)
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it?
i got a base of twenty five cents (my older brother got 30, my younger sister 20) and we had a chart of chores to do around the house- 10 cents for cleaning the bathroom, 5 cents for making your bed, 10 cents for vacuuming... and on the weekend, if my mom had extra money, we got what we earned... if she didnt' have extra money, well, then we didnt' get it of course... we used to always get the fifty cent pieces that she got per kid from family allowance... not sure what was up with that but i remember them....
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing?
i spent $25 on supplies to do christmas baking when i was in the city on sunday, and now we have no gas money and chris doesn't get paid until next monday... so i regret buying stuff to make christmas cookies and peppermint bark because now ... i dont' know... chris will have to borrow from his brother!!!

1. If you were to go to a movie this weekend, which one would you pick?
Probably Bad Santa -- I crack up every time I see the previews. I also want to see Love Actually, but if I took hubby with me, then I'd have to go see something like Master & Commander with him, and frankly, I'm just not willing to do that right now!
2. What movie would you like to rent this weekend?
None right now-- we've still got our 3 Netflix movies that we haven't watched in over 3 weeks.... I can't even remember which ones we have...
3. What one TV show do you always try to watch?
24 -- Kiefer is such a hottie! And it's like watching a mini-movie... always keeps me on the edge of my seat!
4. If you (and your S.O.) were cool with it, what five celebrities (at the most) would it be 'ok' for you to have a fling with?
Kiefer Sutherland
Mel Gibson
John Cusack

FYI, these are today's questions. You can still answer the old ones. Why not do both, if time permits?
1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?
2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?
3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?
4. Do you do anything to help the needy?
5. What one gift would you like for yourself?

1. If you were to go to a movie this weekend, which one would you pick?
Bad Santa... if NPR gave it a pretty good review then it must not be too bad... and the previews are funny. "I loved a woman who was unclean" LOL
2. What movie would you like to rent this weekend?
I havn't rented movies in like 6 months... I have no idea... Bruce Almighty? Pirates of the Carriabean? Are these out yet?
3. What one TV show do you always try to watch?
South Park... after all these years that show still kicks sooo much ass. It is funny, rude, raunchy and always has the best moral of the story.
4. If you (and your S.O.) were cool with it, what five celebrities (at the most) would it be 'ok' for you to have a fling with?
Johhny Depp
Taye Diggs
Andre3000 (outkast)
The Australian guy from 10 things I hate about you (i never remember his name)
5. How do you plan to spend your weekend?
I work ... but other than that catching up on xmas gifts.
1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?
I love snow... I can't imagine Christmas without it
2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?
Christmas morning at home... sleepy and still in pjs... enjoying orange juice with fresh strawberries.
3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?
Nightmare before Christmas on Christmas Eve :D
4. Do you do anything to help the needy?
I donated to heifer.org this year instead of giving gifts to some people
5. What one gift would you like for yourself?
I like when people make me stuff... so it would be neat to get some handcrafted stuff

1. If you were to go to a movie this weekend, which one would you pick?
Girl With A Pearl Earring
2. What movie would you like to rent this weekend?
Pirates of the Caribbean
3. What one TV show do you always try to watch?
Scrubs
4. If you (and your S.O.) were cool with it, what five celebrities (at the most) would it be 'ok' for you to have a fling with?
Jeff Tweedy, Johnny Depp. I don't think I am interested in having a fling with anyone else, at their current age and shape. If I could time-travel and do Marlon Brando circa 1950, then sign me up. Ditto Elvis Costello circa 1980.
5. How do you plan to spend your weekend?
I am having sushi and seeing the Vampire Nutcracker for my birthday. I will also be knitting, wrapping presents, shopping, writing holiday cards, and mailing things.
1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?
Yes to cold weather, no to snow. I hate snow.
2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?
I especially like Christmas Eve with my mom's side of the family. We eat dinner and open gifts together.
3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?
Chris and I haven't yet established a yearly holiday tradition. I have many with my family. For instance, see above. And then we all gather on Christmas day, too. Sometimes I go to Mass at the Basilica with my mother on Christmas Eve.
4. Do you do anything to help the needy?
I put money in the poor box and donate canned goods.
5. What one gift would you like for yourself?
Most of all? An engagement ring. But I am not expecting it. :P

1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?
It just doesn't feel like the holidays without cold weather, but here in Atlanta, we don't get any snow. "White Christmas" always makes me kind of sad when I hear it -- I dream of a white Christmas, but in my 24 years in Georgia, I've never seen one. I think it was last year that we got flurries a couple of days before Christmas, and I got so excited! I'd like, just once, to see a white Christmas....
2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?
I guess my ideal would be a huge family & friends celebration, but I'm pretty happy with the way our holidays work out...
3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?
We have tons of traditions. Christmas Eve is spent with my family at my parent's house. We first have the big celebration with all of the extended family. Food is lots of sweets and finger foods. We draw names at Thanksgiving, so after dinner, we exchange gifts -- everyone opens one at a time, and we go youngest to oldest. Once the extended family has cleared out, we do our more intimate family gift exchange. Afterward, we all sit around until the wee hours and chat. On Christmas morning, my hubby and I exchange gifts, then our best friends come over for breakfast (I bake the coffee cake my mother always made on Christmas morning) & to exchange gifts. Christmas afternoon is spent with my in-laws. They've recently adopted the finger-food tradition from my family & we talked them into the one-by-one gift opening. I've never been a fan of the everyone-opens-at-once-paper-flying-everywhere style of opening gifts. I try to spend time giving thoughtful gifts, and I want to see everyone's reaction....
4. Do you do anything to help the needy?
I never feel like I do enough, but we always contribute to Toys for Tots, I give to every Salvation-Army bell ringer I see, and we try to do several other small things through the season....
5. What one gift would you like for yourself?
I'm hoping for the Making Memories date stamp kit. That's the only thing I really asked for...

Yay! More FridayFives to answer!! You know, I have known about Friday Five for a long time now, and I have had a blog for almost 1 year but I have never answered the Friday Fives on my blog...but for some reason I like answering them on here! I am so strange. Maybe I should just go ahead & post them on my blog too.
1. If you were to go to a movie this weekend, which one would you pick?
I really wanted to see Pieces of April , but I don't think that is still playing in any theaters around here. I will have to steal Cindi's vote & go with Bad Santa.
2. What movie would you like to rent this weekend?
Most likely I will be renting movies this weekend, and I have been wanting to see The Safety of Objects but I doubt my boyfriend wants to watch that, so if we do rent something it will most likely be Bruce Almighty because Cory thinks it looks hilarious. I like some Jim Carrey movies, but sometimes they can just get a bit old, and predictable, but maybe it will be good anyway.
3. What one TV show do you always try to watch?
Well, I hate to admit I'm such a tv junkie, but I do regularly watch a lot of shows, I can't narrow it down to just one! Every week I usually try to watch the following: The King of Queens, Still Standing, Everybody Loves Raymond, Gilmore Girls, Everwood, Smallville, Friends (I haven't been into it as much this year though), That 70's Show, and I usually watch Angel with Cory because it's his FAVORITE show. I also watch crime/drama types of shows once in a while like CSI and NYPD Blue but I don't watch them regularly, just every now & then. Yeah, I watch WAY too much tv but I am not upset if I miss a show, if I am home & not busy I watch tv.
4. If you (and your S.O.) were cool with it, what five celebrities (at the most) would it be 'ok' for you to have a fling with?
Hmmm, DON'T LAUGH but I would choose these guys (in no particular order) at the moment:
1. Michael Rosenbaum (http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0742146/) (Lex Luthor on Smallville - I just recently developed this crush. I don't know what it is about him but damn he's hot on that show!)
2. Josh Hartnett (http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0001326/)
3. Joaquin Phoenix (http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0001618/)
4. Kevin Spacey (http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0000228/) (Shhhh! Don't tell!)
5. Mark Hoppus (http://www.nyrock.com/interviews/2001/blink_int.asp) (from Blink 182 - he has been my crush for a LONG time!)
5. How do you plan to spend your weekend?
Christmas shopping, doing some much needed catching up on Nervousness projects, cleaning, sleeping, eating, watching movies.

Wow, took me so long to answer (actually I had to do work & couldn't finish updating for a while) that a whole new set of Friday Fives are up! whoops!
So I will answer those too!
1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?
It's nice to see some snow on Christmas, but other than that I'm not a big fan of cold, snowy weather which sucks since I live in upstate NY so I can't avoid it in the winter.
2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?
Umm, I don't really know. My holidays are usually always very weird. I have been with my boyfriend for 8 years & have never spend Christmast with him ONCE so it would be nice to spend Christmas day with him, and my family too. Usually my mom, my sister & I travel to Massachusetts to be with our relatives on Christmas and I don't think that is happening this year so I think for the first time ever I WILL be able to spend at least part of Xmas day with Cory!
3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?
No, none. :(
4. Do you do anything to help the needy?
I hate to admit it, but usually not. :( About the most "charitable" thing I do is donate lots of my clothes that I don't wear anymore to Goodwill.
5. What one gift would you like for yourself?
A Mac laptop

1. If you were to go to a movie this weekend, which one would you pick?
Probably Love Actually
2. What movie would you like to rent this weekend?
I'm not a renter, I already bought Pirates...hm...Breakfast at Tiffany's
3. What one TV show do you always try to watch?
Smallville or CSI
4. If you (and your S.O.) were cool with it, what five celebrities (at the most) would it be 'ok' for you to have a fling with?
Oh, let's give some mystery...
J.D.
O.B.
S.B.
T.S.
J.G.
and for the record sarahkate, i can completely support your Micheal Rosenbaum thing...
5. How do you plan to spend your weekend?
Hosting a party tonight, cleaning house tomorrow, helping Brian with stuff for the wall, maybe doing a tour, I was supposed to go to my mom's Sunday, but it was cancelled.

Yay! I fellow Lex-Lover! I have been wondering if I was totally strange for thinking he is a babe!
and let me make some crazy guesses on your crush list, Rustell-
J.D. = Johnny Depp OF COURSE!! :D
O.B. = Orlando Bloom ??
S.B. = Steve Buscemi ?? (there is something strangely attractive about him ... and I know many of you agree because I remember his name coming up when we were discussing this subject before!)
T.S. = Tom Sizemore ?? :blink:
J.G. = John Goodman ?? :blink:
Ok, the last 2 I am 99.9% sure are very wrong...but hey...I had to throw some weirdness in.

ah, only the first two are right.....
if i had a top twenty M.B. would be in it undoubtedly....
Steve Buschemi was on Jon Stewart the other day.
A spin off question, but do you know, or have a guess at your significant other's list?

for some reason, my hubby absolutly refuses to give any hint about any stars he thinks are attractive or fooling-around-with-worthy. However, he's perfectly willing to tell me who he hates.... on the top of that list is Heather Locklear...

Brian is the same. He will avoid all questions regarding actresses etc that he finds attractive. He often says stuff about those that "I just don't get what is supposed to be all that great about..."
sarahkate

Cory is the same way with me too, he won't mention like "oh - I think that girl is hot!" because he is smart :P He knows I would flip out if he said something like that because, well, I'm immature & stuff like that just bothers me! I think it is very stupid & rude to say right in front of your "significant other" how hot you think someone else is, I just take that as another way to knock down one's self esteem. I don't say stuff like that to Cory, so I'm glad he doesn't do it in front of me, but like Cindi & Rustell's men Cory does say "I think she is disgusting" or "I don't know why people think she is so hot" but I do have my suspicions of who he is attracted to.

1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays? Uhm- sometimes. Like when it's crisp and rainy. I hate when it's wet and not raining. and I LOVE when it's cold and sunny. We don't get snow, ao I can't really answer that.
2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect? well that means lots of family, lots of food and lots of fun- the last time that orrured in a good way was probably when I was like... five. So I'd have to be a mini-me. the holidays are the best when you're a kid.
3. Do you do have any holiday traditions? Me, no. Maybe watching the Yule log on tv on christmas eve. As for my BF, yea- they do posada and they open their presents on midnight and they have stockings, and make apple cider.
4. Do you do anything to help the needy? At the moment, no. Becuase I'm kind of needy myself and can't afford to donate time or energy to anything outside my direct spectrum. I expect taht when I get the money or time, I will do so, but not right now.
5. What one gift would you like for yourself? Anything would be nice- I get all teary if anyone goes out of their way to get me something. But mostly Money. Becuase its one thing I need, and gifts aren't gonna help me right now. I mean- go ahead and shower me with gifts, but they aren't going to pay for food or registration for school.

I'm not usually too vocal about who my crushes are, but occasionally we'll be watching something and Rob'll look over and ask "do you think he's attractive?" Usually the answer is a big-eyed, fast nod "ummm--humm!" :D When he found out I had a HUGE thing for Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order), he asked me about it -- I told him, not only is he hot, he's got a beautiful singing voice.... About a week later, Rob started singing to me! (he never would before.... he's pretty shy!) I thought it was cute!

Ok, I lied - we rented movies last night (Friday night counts as the weekend, right?) and Bruce Almighty was all rented out and I noticed The Safety of Objects on the shelf, but didn't even pick it up because I know Cory would hate it (or at least he would THINK he would hate it!) so we rented Phone Booth which was a decent movie, wonder if there will be a sequel??? We also rented some weird movie called Rip it Off which, according to IMDB.com has an alternate title, Beyond the City Limits (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0201479/). That was strange movie, I can't say if I would really recommend it though, but I have seen worse.
Oh, that Rip it Off movie reminds me of another one of my celebrity crushes, Todd Field. I loved him in Walking and Talking, though he plays a TOTAL dork in this movie.

1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?
I try to make a trip up north, if even for a day, so I can see some snow and cold weather for the holidays.
2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?
Every year Brian and I have a Christmas gathering the Saturday before Christmas. Usually with just our friends. The Sunday before Christmas we meet with my grandmother for an extended family holiday celebration. Then Christmas Eve or Christmas Day we meet with my mom and brother's family or Brian's parents and brother's family. My dad comes over for breakfast Christmas morning. My ideal holiday celebration would be to have everyone together in one place for one big holiday celebration.
3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?
Christmas breakfast is the main one.
4. Do you do anything to help the needy?
I have every year but this one. This year since money is so much tighter, I just orchestrated a Christmas Angel program at the community center as well as a holiday food drive. I did what I could to get others to be generous.
5. What one gift would you like for yourself?
If we are talking actual material greediness I want a new 19" flat screen monitor for my computer.

So, I pestered Brian about his list of five, and his reaction was odd, but cute. "What? Do you get propositioned by Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom so you need me to have a list so it is okay?" He thinks Marky Mark and George Clooney should be on my list. Does that mean he likes them or that he didn't believe me when I commented that I was surprised at how good of an actor Marky mark was. So, I got him to admit to: Ashely Judd, Tara Reid and Shania Twain....

Chris is totally the same way about not letting on which actresses he thinks are pretty. It is funny that Brian thinks Rustell should have George Clooney on her list-- Chris would probably say the same thing about my list! The only person I know for sure Chris would put on his list is Tina Fey from Saturday Night Live. I can't argue with that, either: she's totally smart and adorable.

ohkey. Me's game.
1. How many houses/apartments have you lived in throughout your life?
Three. all three-bedroom homes, all insanely cramped, but the first was two stories.
2. Which was your favorite and why?
Hm. I think I liked the Fremont house. It had a big backyard and a treehouse, lots of neat neighbors and was near the school so we could go play on the playground. It also had a hill on the street- I swear we invented the Luge by riding on skateboards down that thing.
3. Do you find moving house more exciting or stressful? Why?
It's fun, cause empty houses are so full of promise. But I guess stressful cause everything has to leave where it's comfy at and go to a new place in one piece.
4. What's more important, location or price?
that depends. each one affects the other. So you have to make compromises- cheap and crappy or 'spensive and nice.
5. What features does your dream house have (pool, spa bath, big yard, etc.)?
A big back yard. A decent front yard with a great shady tree. An outside room ( like a porch or patio) that would be nice for barbecues and relaxing in the summer. And central heating/air.

1. How many houses/apartments have you lived in throughout your life?
11
2. Which was your favorite and why?
My house now. I agree with Serius - it's mine!
3. Do you find moving house more exciting or stressful? Why?
A little of both. While packing, it's exciting to throw junk out and plan for the new place. But it's also a gigantic pain in the ass. Then moving all your stuff (especially if you can't afford big burly moving men!) I find it fun to decorate a new place, but tiring unpacking everything I own. We still have boxes in the garage of crap we've never unpacked (and we've lived here 4 and a half years!)
4. What's more important, location or price?
location (but price is a big consideration).

I'm bored. I'm doing the old one that I missed:
1. How many houses/apartments have you lived in throughout your life?
8
2. Which was your favorite and why?
I think my one now is my favorite in terms of living situation (just me, my boyfriend and my animals, no roommates or anything), but my parent's newest house (where I've lived on and off for a couple years) is by far the nicest. It has an oak in the backyard and windows everywhere. I like my little (and i mean LITTLE) apartment now though...it's home.
3. Do you find moving house more exciting or stressful? Why?
oh yes, because moving all your stuff is hard work and stresses me out. My dog also gets upset and stressed, which makes him a lot of work too. Oh, and because Uhaul is an evil evil company!
4. What's more important, location or price?
location. You can't get a good price when you have a dog and two cats anyway.
5. What features does your dream house have (pool, spa bath, big yard, etc.)?
A lot of space with lots of rooms for all my stuff. A darkroom. A lot of land with pretty views.

bored so I'll do this one too
1. How many houses/apartments have you lived in throughout your life?
24- jesus that's a lot considering I am only 21
2. Which was your favorite and why?
my favorite was one of the foster homes I lived in because it was the first time a family (aside from my own) accepted me. It was a lovely house, huge and old. It had been used my people on the underground railroad at one time. It had lost of little "secret" hiding places and interesting things like that. And the yard was basically a big hill with lots of trees...lol it was like our own little jungle.
3. Do you find moving house more exciting or stressful? Why?
I've moved alot throughout my life so it doesn't phaze me at all. I think it's rather exciting, even as a little kid I never got very upset about having to move. As I got to be a teenager and financhial troubles were a burden to me the process of moving became more of a stress simply because we were usually getting evicted. I've packed up entire houses all in a single day more times then I care to mention. But still it's always a bit of an adventure...moving onto better things. :)
4. What's more important, location or price?
well if you can't afford to live somewhere you can't...so location at that point doesn't much matter. That said I would never move to a location I didn't want to live at no matter how cheap. Really for me it's finding a blance of both.
5. What features does your dream house have (pool, spa bath, big yard, etc.)?
lol oh boy. I guess my dream home would be a large open space loft in which I could erect different room dividers (glass doors, and other creative things all recycled of course.) It would have huge windows and atleast one fireplace. Maybe a sky light or two. The bathroom would be divided into a toliet area, sink area, and then a bathing area. There would be a huge shower with over head shower heads. The bath tub would be a nice big hot tub size. And there would be a sauna. the kitchen would be very sleek and industrial. And there would have to be a nice outdoor deck/balcony...I'd have a fireplace out there and a nice big grill...lol and a hammock. I dunno whatelse. I like quirky architectural elements.
hehe and this one too
1. If you were to go to a movie this weekend, which one would you pick?
Ah there are so many good movies out now. Anyone else get annoyed with th eholiday movie rush? I'd go see lord of the rings just because thats the one I am most excited about.
2. What movie would you like to rent this weekend?
desert saints. This is one of the few kiefer movies I haven't seen...it has been on my netflix queque forever with a very long wait status. Whoever has it better retunr it! :P
3. What one TV show do you always try to watch?
not try...DO... "24"
4. If you (and your S.O.) were cool with it, what five celebrities (at the most) would it be 'ok' for you to have a fling with?
1. kiefer sutherland (a no brainer)
2. Shannyn Sossamon
3. keith richards (I dunno if I'd want a fling... more like a jam session.)
4. tino martinez (formerly of the nyy's)
5. see #1 :P
5. How do you plan to spend your weekend?
It's saturday so half of it is over. I spent today catching up on emails, cleaning from all the holiday mess, and finishing a box I made for my mom's birthday (which is tomorrow.) I'll talk to sarah for awhile and probably watch a movie before I go to bed. Tomorrow I will spend an hour or two with the newspaper and some magazines, bake a cake and cook dinner for my dear mommie, and I also have a few lmao's and packages to get ready for monday's mail that I will work on.

1. What was your biggest accomplishment this year?
Changing my life. Changing careers and going back for my Master's Degree.
2. What was your biggest disappointment?
Not having the gumption to file a counter-suit and really fight the lawsuit. I don't usually take the "Just make it go away" attitude, but I did with this.
3. What do you hope the new year brings?
Even more happiness and success in my decisions to make changes.
4. Will you be making any New Year's resolutions? If yes, what will they be?
No.
5. What are your plans for New Year's Eve?
I think to just stay home with Brian. We've had parites in the past, but then have to spend New Year's Day cleaning up. We did the Fiesta Bowl block party last year, but that really wasn't us. So, a quiet evening at home.

Making a serious commitment to moving my life in a forward direction, starting with my weight problem. I've lost about 20 pounds since october. :)
2. What was your biggest disappointment?
Just that I didn't make all the changes I had planned for this year from LAST year's new years resolutions/plans.
3. What do you hope the new year brings?
friendship, motivation, excitement, courage.
4. Will you be making any New Year's resolutions? If yes, what will they be?
I pretty much already made mine throughout the last few months so just to stick with them would be my only resolution.
5. What are your plans for New Year's Eve
I actually like to spend new years alone... so I will end up watching dick clark, drinking a bottle of champagne, and writing/thinking about the direction I will be moving in this year.

1. Where were you born? Lawrence, Massachusetts and I lived in Lowell, MA until I was almost 6 years old, then we moved to NY.
2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don't live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not? I have considered moving back to that area of Mass. because most of my family still lives there, but I don't think I would move back to Lowell specifically.
3. Where in the world do you feel the safest? Probably on the coast of Maine. My family goes up there for a week most summers, and I just feel completely worry free & safe there.
4. Do you feel you are well-traveled? Definitely not! I have never been anywhere outside of the northeastern U.S. :(
5. Where is the most interesting place you've been? Wow. I have no clue. Maybe Boston. I haven't been there many times, but I would love to go back & explore the city more.

Answering this, and then no more chain games until I wade through 15 more pages of forums posting for my organization thread...
1. Where were you born?
Baltimore. Really Towson, but we lived in Baltimore at the time, so that counts.
2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don't live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not?
I like it here, but I still want to move at least once or twice before I die. I am considering Iowa City, Austin, Ithaca, Amherst, and Portland.
3. Where in the world do you feel the safest?
Anywhere with Chris. :)
4. Do you feel you are well-traveled?
I think I am domestically well-traveled because I have been to many regions of the U.S., but I am poorly-traveled internationally, having only been to Mexico.
5. Where is the most interesting place you've been?
Most interesting in terms of the physical attributes of the place: southern Utah.
Most interesting in terms of things to do: New York City.

1. Where were you born?
Livingston, NJ
2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don't live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not?
No I don't still live there. I never really lived there... that was where the hospital was. It's in north jersey. I only lived in that part of NJ for my first 3 or 4 years so I don't have much connection with it. I've lived in either north or central New Jersey all my life and it's pretty much the same thing... people everywhere, attitude, variety.
3. Where in the world do you feel the safest?
I have a pretty strong sense of security that has nothing to do with where I am.
4. Do you feel you are well-traveled?
lol nope. I've been to about 20 of the 50 states, that's it. Hopefully that will change soon though. :)
5. Where is the most interesting place you've been?
New York City. No matter how many times I go there it seems new each time.

Fremont, California, USA
2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don't live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not?
Would rather not move back; it's become very urbanized and expensive. Santa Fe suits me much better.
3. Where in the world do you feel the safest?
In my own home, I think.
4. Do you feel you are well-traveled?
Yes; at least I seem to have been to more places than most other people.

1. Where were you born?
Lake View Terrace, California...A city made famous by the Rodney King beating.
2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don't live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not?
Never lived there, I live in the same general area 5 miles or so away. I like living here it's kind of rural and is in the mountains, but is less than hour from Downtown L.A., Hollywood, the beach or the desert.
3. Where in the world do you feel the safest?
My house
4. Do you feel you are well-traveled?
Not really.
5. Where is the most interesting place you've been?
Baja California (AKA Mexico), it was interesting to see the difference in the living conditions a few miles south of one of the richest states in the richest country in the world.

1. What does it say in the signature line of your emails?
I only use one for work-related emails, and it's:

2. Did you have a senior quote in your high school yearbook? What was it? If you haven't graduated yet, what would you like your quote to be?
I thought about it long and hard, back then, and ended up choosing "Live for each second without hesitation..." -Elton John. Of course, this is really taken out of context, because the rest of the line in the song is "and never forget I'm your man." :P
3. If you had vanity plates on your car, what would they read? If you already have them, what do they say?
SHARKY*1
4. Have you received any gifts with messages engraved upon them? What did the inscription say?
I have a bracelet from when I was a baby that has an H engraved on it, but that's it.
5. What would you like your epitaph to be?
I think I would like to keep it simple and just have my name and dates of birth and death. If I achieve prominence in some field, I guess I wouldn't mind having my profession put on there.

Rrrrrrrr
4. Have you received any gifts with messages engraved upon them? What did the inscription say?

You have just won one million dollars:
1. Who do you call first?
I'd call my cat if he could understand such things, but since he is a cat I'd call dear mumsies.
2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself?
A nice pair of boots. Or a vintage hat.
3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?
Well, I usually send things through the mail, so I'd probably buy some luxury chocolate, stuff it into a package and ship it off to a dear friend. And then postcards. :)
4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?
Yes. To the Red Cross, and some to mum.
5. Do you invest any? If so, how?
I don't believe in investing. Eeevilness.

1. Who do you call first?
I'd call my mother. I've always called her to celebrate exciting things.
2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself?
I would pay off my mortgage. Ok, between taxes on the winnings and the mortgage, well over half of the money is gone already.
3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?
Today, it would be a new computer for my mother because she just called me to troubleshoot hers.
4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?
Absolutely. Amnesty International and American Friends Service Committee are the first donations I'd make
5. Do you invest any? If so, how?
Well, there's not much left after doing 1-4 above, but I can invest the money I'm not paying for mortgage, and since my mutual funds are performing better than market average, I'll stick with them.
Well, that was a nice fantasy. Next!

Sushi, more than likely.
3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?
I would buy Chris a new car. (A Civic hybrid.)
4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?
I would give a substantial amount away, I am sure, especially to family and friends. I would give some to charity, but I don't know exactly which charity or how much. A million isn't enough to really endow anything, so I'd probably do something like give Baltimore City Schools $50,000 to buy new books for their school libraries.
5. Do you invest any? If so, how?
I would invest it, but I know nothing about investing, so the "how" will have to be left to a financial advisor.

2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself?
Dinner. Probably a sushi dinner. One where I am not ordering in a fashion to keep my bill lower than $50. My first truly expensive thing: I would hire someone to come and help me organize my closets and the entire apartment! I need organization more than anything else.
3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?
Randy's wedding ring. My second thing would be a trip to the Carribean or Mexico to get married.
4. Do you give any away?
Sure, but I don't know how much or to whom. I would want the money to last a lifetime, basically it would be my retirement. I want to have hobbies and go back to school just to learn without the pressure of tying it to a career. I want to enjoy the seasons and enjoy loved ones without the stress of a soul sucking job. I couldn't afford to give too much away. What I could give I would give though.

I don't know. I feel like I have done many daring things, and some of them I don't want to share. One pretty daring thing I did was to walk around naked at a Rainbow Gathering, although it didn't feel so daring at the time. In retrospect, though, I can't believe I did it.
2. What one thing would you like to try that your mother/friend/significant other would never approve of?
The drug Ecstacy.
3. On a scale of 1-10, what's your risk factor? (1=never take risks, 10=it's a lifestyle)
Nowadays, I think it's around 4. Ten years ago, it was an 8 or 9.
4. What's the best thing that's ever happened to you as a result of being bold/risky?
I don't think Chris and I would be together now if I hadn't been very, very forward and bold with him right before we started dating.
5. ... and what's the worst?
Getting arrested for buying LSD from an undercover cop.

1. What's the most daring thing you've ever done?
mmmm....geez...i'm not a big risk taker...um, racing guys I didn't know on the freeway and then getting out of the car to talk with them, then eventually getting in their car with them to continue the evening around town....
or jumping off a cliff (into water)
or flying off to Reno by myself for the weekend...
2. What one thing would you like to try that your mother/friend/significant other would never approve of?
a solo cross country road trip
3. On a scale of 1-10, what's your risk factor? (1=never take risks, 10=it's a lifestyle)

Because I've missed a few...
You have just won one million dollars:
1. Who do you call first? Brian
2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself? Boring...first I would buy all the stuff I already have (i.e. pay off my house, my car) then I'd see what I have left over to work with....
3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else? Several people I know would have new cars.
4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom? My family and friends, I wouldn't give it away in cash, I would have the opportunity to buy the things that I always wanted to give them but couldn't.
5. Do you invest any? If so, how? Yes. Wisely. A diverse portfolio that would include a few low risk municipal and state bonds. The bulk in mutual funds, appreciation funds, an index fund, a bit in emerging markets. Then part in stocks. A couple of blue chips, then some fun ones with the "speculative" part of my holdings.

1. what's the most daring thing you've done?
I hitchhiked from NYC to San Francisco when I was 16... yikes.
2. what one thing would you like to try that your mother/friend/significant other would never approve of?
well, my mother is out of the picture, my friends are all okay with anything I do and my significant other lives a state away and can't see me most of the time! I'm 34 now and it's probably past my time to shock anyone -- other than changing my gender, I suppose -- but I'm not wanting to try that anyway!
3. On a scale of 1-10, what's your risk factor?
Hmm -- emotionally, I'm up around 8, I think. My whole life is about to burst open...
Physically -- somewhere around 6, I think. I like to wander around the city streets late at night and that's probably not a 1! I like to ride my bike in a city that doesn't like bike riders...
4. What's the best thing that's ever happened to you as a result of being bold/risky?
I took a big risk smiling my way into infatuation guy's life -- that could have gone all different kinds of ways -- but I knew I wanted him and I went for him!
5. And what's the worst?
Being on my own when I was really young, I made some bad decisions because I thought I had to make them to survive... and maybe that was true.

1. Are you superstitious?
At times, absolutely!
2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?
I didn't watch the third LOTR, because I associate the last two with terrible things that happened afterward.
My mom would not allow us to have guests on New Year's Eve while I was in high school.
My mom wouldn't allow me to wear red in high school for some superstitious reason. (Oh, you know I wore it anyway! ;) )
I held my breath every time I passed a cemetary in high school. It worked out usually, but some cemetaries are awfully long.
3. Believer or not, what's your favorite superstition?
Why Friday the 13th, of course. 13 is Randy's favorite number, and Friday is his favorite day. So I like to make it special for him.
4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?
Sure, 22, no clothing (I gave up on the myth my friends passed on the black panties gave you power...)
5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?
No, because it is just downright illogical. I am a nature/nurture combo...nature being genetics, not your birth date.
I do however think it's fun to muse about. I am a very typical gemini, but the descriptions are vague. They would describe many of us: dual personality, talkative...

1. Are you superstitious?
Not really...but I do 'follow the rules' just in case.
2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?
Athletes not bathing, washing their jock or uniform, or eating only certain things while on a pitching/hitting/wining spree.
3. Believer or not, what's your favorite superstition?
Think of five or six names of boys or girls you might marry, As you twist the stem of an apple, recite the names until the stem comes off. You will marry the person whose name you were saying when the stem fell off.
If your nose itches you will soon be kissed by a fool.
My grandpa told me that if I sang at the table I would marry a black man (I guess that was the ultimate in horror for him)
4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?
yes, and I believe mine is all bad. The # 5 because when I was a kid I won the prize when told to 'pick a number between...X and X"
5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?
To an extent. I exibit certain traits of my sun and moon and houses, but I don't think they tell all about you. I read them in papers and magazines just to see how accurate they are after the fact.

1. Are you superstitious?
Not particularly, but I do take things as "signs" sometimes.
2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?
Gosh, painting their houses certain colors, changing the way they sign their names, naming their children certain names, all kinds of things....
3. Believer or not, what's your favorite superstition?
I like the classic black cat crossing your path. :D
4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?
Luck's relative --- you can count good occurences as good luck, in that case of course I believe in it. I do like things that are related to the numbers 2, 5, and 9, and I used to like to kiss things before I put them in the mailbox....
Hah, you all have my kissy germs!
5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?
I think it's fun, but not factual.

1. What was your first job? <span style='color:orange'>When I had just turned 18 I got a job as a cashier at the local grocery store in my town while I was going to college. I worked there for a little over a year.
2. How old were you when you had your first kiss? My first real kiss (not counting the games of truth-or-dare with the the boys in my neighborhood ^_^) was right after I had turned 15 I think.
3. What was your first car? What happened to it? A silver four door 1992 Plymouth Acclaim. I got it when I was 18. It had plush maroon interior. Swanky! That car was called The Silver Bullet by my friends & family. I drove that car until it was pretty much dead, so I got a new car a few years ago and The Silver Bullet actually just sat in my driveway for YEARS up until last summer when we gave it away to one of my mom's coworkers. Last I heard they fixed it up, but it died a while later, so they sold it to someone who runs a demolition derby! Oh no! My poor car!!! :'(
4. What was your first concert? It was during the Summer of '97 I belive and it was a big outdoor music festival. There were a bunch of bands there including Blink 182, Everclear, Black Lab, Feeder, and more that I can't remember. That day I got the worst sunburn in my life.
5. How do you plan to spend your weekend?</span> I really have no clue. I have to go buy my sister a birthday present because she turned 17 a week ago today and I still haven't bought her anything, so I might get her something tonight and go visit her & my mom tomorrow. I have tons of cleaning to do in my house. Maybe I will rent a few movies or go out to the movie theater. So much to do! So little time!

1. What was your first job? under the table job was petsitting and babysitting, my fist official job was shelving books in the library
2. How old were you when you had your first kiss? 15
3. What was your first car? What happened to it? A Mercury Sable. It was the worst piece of crap ever. My grandmother gave it to me after my grandpa died (he obviously didn't need it anymore) and it broke down at least once a month even though it was a fairly newish car with not very many miles on it. It was white and drove like a boat. I hit things when I tried to park it. It always burned power steering fluid so it had this bad smell to it too. When I decided to sell it and buy my parent's Honda Civic off them every person who knew anything about cars took one look and said that the odometer (mile counter thingie) had been tampered with and that it looked as if it had been seriously rebuilt after a bad accident/salvage and that Ford (who owns Mercury). I asked my grandma if grandpa had perhaps been ripped off when he bought the car, but she swore that grandpa bought it from a very honest used car dealer (yeah right!). I sold it for half the bluebook value to a clueless lady and I still feel bad about it. Still, she should have known that for so little money, there had to have been something wrong with the car...
4. What was your first concert? My first real concert was Lalapalooza in 1994. It had the Beastie Boys, Smashing Pumpkins, Greenday, George Clinton, L7, and a buncha other bands that I can't remember...
5. How do you plan to spend your weekend? This weekend I plan to go to the darkroom and make some prints, take my dog to the beach and maybe see a movie or something.

2. How old were you when you had your first kiss?

1993 Geo Metro. My mom wrecked it while I was on vacation in Minneapolis. (She was okay, just a little shaken up.)

Festival Venue: Cheap Trick played the El Paso Balloon Festival in 1989. I was there shouting, "Surrender!" and "I Want You to Want Me!" when they asked what song they should play for encore.
Small Club Venue: Anything Box at Club 101 in El Paso.
Edited because I just realized my first arena tour was in fact U2s Zoo TV tour. It came before the Smashing Pumpkins.
5. How do you plan to spend your weekend?
