I'm forming a small artists collective in my town for self-taught artists. We are sick of the notion that you need to go to an art school to make good art and for that art to be saleable.

Please take a moment to view This Poll (http://www.livejournal.com/poll/?id=204018) and cast your vote for the group's motto.

Sincerely,

Exile Art

:)

p.s. sorry, but for some reason, even though anyone can comment, only folks who are logged in to LJ can actually do the poll. With that in mind, I welcome you to * Write - In * (http://www.livejournal.com/users/lucky13xxx/18702.html?mode=reply) your vote as a comment (be sure to click the 'Anonymous' button or you'll get an error message).

Well, "Autonymous Artistry" first got my pedantic hackles up because of the misspelling, but then I realized the meaning implicit in this spelling worked excellently: not self-rule or individual law, but self-name, idiosyncracy of identity. Would work better as the name of the collective than its motto, though.

I didn't see how to post a response there, though, as a non-LJer. Where's this "Anonymous" button?

(Contemplates turning the tables and looking for an "Anonomous" button - the button with no rules. The infamous Any key they keep telling you to hit, no doubt... )

Edit: Oh! never mind. I just had to follow your actual link to get there. Mighta noticed that before....

I voted before seeing this thread, but I like a LOT of the different variations.

MWAH! to you, and I wish I was local enough to join.
