Can you...
...pat your head and rub your tummy?
...rub your head and pat your tummy?
...For this one, i'll explain it very well. Sit at a table/desk with a piece of paper in front of you. Start swinging your left foot in a circle about the size of a plate, going counterclockwise. now, while still swinging your leg, try to both write and print the word Tennessee
...i just remembered this one: can you spin your arms in a circle...each arm going in opposite directions? (one rotating forwards, one backwards?)
it took me 2 years to master this one!! lol

I can already take an educated guess and tell you that I'm probably not coordinated enough to do this but I'll give it a shot. ;)

Not too bad. I can do the head rubbing and tummy patting, tummy rubbing and headpatting ones fairly well but that third one didn't work out for me. :D

i can't do the 3rd one either. it's supposed to be impossible, but i know 3 people who CAN actually do it lol

2 years!!! Yeesh! I can kind of do that one but it's going to take alot of practice (maybe three or four years worth?).

well..granted, i kept forgetting about it, then i'd remember and try for a half an hour, and kept messing up....then forget for 3-4 months again lol

can you-
roll your tongue ( bonus if more than once! )
pick a penny up with your toes ( more of dextrous thing!)
put your foot behind your head?

I can do all of Christine's things! I live in TN so I write it all the time and can do it with my foot swinging.
I can roll my tounge. I used to be able to to put my foot behind my head but i'm too old now. Penny with the foot- dunno and too lazy to try.

lol. yesh. it is, however, not easier to write my name with my feet
this reminds me..there's this guy that came to my school when i was in gr. 10
he has no arms, and he can:
drive, play the piano, drums and trumpet, eat, etc. with his feet. it's really cool
oh, he can write very legibly too lol

now i have an odd question:
if you do pick things up with your feet (and/or write with them):
which foot do you use predominantly?
is that the same as your hand?
i'm a rightie, but i usually use my left foot
kittymao
10-25-2003, 11:04 PM
Same, I use my left. I think it's cause my right leg is stronger, and can hold me up better than my left.
I've tried to write, but can't seem to hold the paper and I wind up writing too big.
And that guy is cool! I'd love to know someone that could do that.

So far I can do all of the challenges here. Not sure where the challenge is on the Tennessee one, but maybe I use a different part of my brain to write or something, heehee. And I think I use each of my feet about the same for picking things up (and I'm lazy enough that I do that a lot ;) ).

i'm a lefty, i can do all the tricks, i use my feet alot to pick up small toys and things around the house and throw them towards (dont always make it) the toy box. i crochet right handed because i taught myself according to righty instructions when i was a kid, shoot pool right handed, dont know why, maybe the left eye strength. cant hardly write at all right, i think i could if i didnt feel such a drag across the paper. i can do it on a blackboard because base of hand doesnt touch.
heres a really neat trick, and it is easier on a black board but you can try it on paper:
take something to write with in each hand and simultaneously (starting with hands together at a center point) write your name. right will be written correctly moving frm center to the right and your left will write backwards from center to left, creating a reverse mirror image of your name. B) i've heard of this being used as a diagnostic tool for......uh....cant remember what exactly...maybe someone else knows, maybe brain hemisphere dominance or balance???
heres a neat exercise, christine, if your goal to become ambi, is more brain oriented than to just be able to write with non-dominant hand Tibetan Paradox Exercise (http://www.rainbowbridgecoalition.org/ExpandedBridge/SpiritusSanctus/TibetanExParadox.html) theres some good info too about full brain use.

I can do the rub-and-pat thing with either hand, either way. I've practiced a lot (VERY useful, now that I think of it... <_< )
I can write Tennessee while swinging my foot in a counter-clockwise circle if I time my pencil strokes with the rhythm of the circles.
I can swing my arms in opposite circles, too - it's a classic gym exercise...
I can roll my tongue in any direction you care to name, and make a tube with it, too (not everyone can do that, apparently)
I pick up things with my feet, I've also used them to open doors when my hands were full... Not sure which foot I use more, though. The right, I think.
Oh, I forgot - I can touch both feet to my head, but can't quite put them behind it. I'm working on it, though. :)
I've never really tried writing with my feet...
Question - can you wiggle your ears? I can't. If I concentrate, I can feel the muscles I need to use, but can't quite manage it.

ok, i thought of another challenge.... stand next to a wall, with your right side touching the wall...every point should be touching....shoulder, hip, knee, foot
now, slowly try to raise your left foot off the floor

can you raise one eyebrow and not the other?
Death_Or_Aldona
11-13-2004, 02:15 PM
no...not even a bit.
i can only wink my left eye.
can you wink both eyes? (not at the same time silly...that would be blinking...)
Christine_0701
11-13-2004, 02:18 PM
yes i can
Jacey
11-13-2004, 05:15 PM
I can raise both eyebrows independently, and I can wink with both eyes. I cannot however, roll my tongue....and the right side to the wall, lift the left leg thingie...NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. I just tried to get my kids to do it, and they can't either so I don't feel so bad.
Now, they say it's impossible, but I have a son who can do this...can you lick your own elbow?
