This season is the first time I've ever grown birdhouse gourds. They are awesome, prolific, lovely, and I'll have them growing every year from now on.

Not a good painting, but I think it'll be interesting as small pieces, say ATC size, when the ratio of brushstroke size to canvas size will let it acheive a sort of abstract quality. It seems to have been hanging in someone's kitchen, and smells a bit of asafoetida, so I'm going to wash it first.

We were told "A John Travolta movie". I looked it up on imdb and found there's one currently being filmed in Tampa, Florida, where the gallery that arranged this, and which has the wallpiece, is located. It's apparently a nasty, extra-violent superhero flic (as if we didn't have enough of that attitude in real life) called The Punisher. Well, who knows? They might turn genre on its head and make something positive out of it, but I'm not placing any bets. I'll go to the comics store and look up the original first - gotta get more ATC binder pages anyway. The movie's due out next year sometime. Well, presumably summer, given its genre.

This weekend will be the first time I go visit my former in-laws (technically still my in-laws) in over three months. Just produced the first of a new series of inexpensive wall hangings, simple and cheap, not one-of-a-kind, except in their color detail. I was the one who thought of doing them and got the ball rolling, so it's the first design of mine for the studio, though the design is so simple it hardly deserves the term. (I've done my own designs for my own production before, and even been successful with them.)

Two days ago (keep forgetting to post), first inspiration for a new large-scale design of my own to come directly from ATCs I've done for Nness. Haven't got to the point of starting work on it yet.

Reed -- it's a language of its own that is Aramaic-based with much Arabic influence but very different phonetics and often different grammar, not to mention lexicon. You have to learn both separately. Knowledge of one by no means implies you can understand or speak the other.
