while i enjoy signing up for random acts lmao and sending things out i always feel let down by it. i guess being out of us means most people wld skip me over when deciding who to send to and usually (in 98% of random acts lmaos i have participated in) i have received nothing. i know when i join such a lmao i have to do so with the mindframe that i shld expect nothing in return. however sometimes lmao owners ask that we let them know who we send to so there are noone gets too much however it never really works. i guess i just feel bleh about it and should not sign up for such lmaos if i feel like that. just needed to let it out.

sometimes i find that being a non-us nervous member one gets discriminated alot.

I know what you mean. I too have felt like this at times. However, I have been lucky in that some of the people I have sent random acts to have sent something back. To be honest, I don't mind, because I love it so much when someone leaves me a message to say I've brightened their day. However, I do feel let down when I send out random acts, and don't hear anything back, which has happened quite often. I find that plain rude.

i hear ya. I created a series of random acts LMAOs, and was blessed by many lovely surprises as a result, so no complaints there; but I have been sending out monthly random acts mailings in keeping with a new year's resolution i made this year, and about half of the people I have sent to thus far (one or two per month), haven't said a word.
It's too bad when people can't be bothered to even let you know your little random act arrived.

On the upside though, one kind soul sent me a spiffy random act in return, and gave me totally unexpected nice feedback, both of which made my day (even though i'm not doing these RAs in expectation of anything more than a Q to say they arrive), just as she said I had made hers, which made me feel great.

Yeah, I mean just a Q&A to say, I received your random suprise. thanks. is all I expect! They don't even have to say they liked it! Ah well, that's life I guess.

Alright now I feel bad. Fearful Penguin you sent me a postcard I think a couple of weeks ago and I don't think I ever said anything about it. I am so sorry. I am a bad bad nervous person.

I have been a little late on a lot of LMAO recently, which is horrible but work is just getting to me.

I always try to send something overseas in those lmaos. If I have the money to do so, lol.

I always pick the overseas people to send to also. I hate the thought of someone not geting anything.

heh  Now, that is definitely a switch!!!

I've never participated in any of the RAK LMAOs.  I do, however, send out a few RAKs every month (or I at least try to).  I read the forums and look at exchanges to see if I might have something someone is looking for.  A RAK is usually small so does not take more than a stamp or two, so the location is not a concern to me.....having the person randomly surprised to receive something they might be looking for is worth more to me than what it cost to mail it.

However, it does royally piss me off when I don't hear if they've received it or not (it's a rarity, but has happened).  That is the best way to ensure I won't be sending any more RAKs to that person.

That is a wonderful idea. I've been itching to send out some more RAKs and this is the perfect outlet.

I send out monthly rak but don't put my name or addy on anything because I like to stay ananyous. I think that is what rak are all about. I do however love it when I see a post from someone trying to guess who send them stuff. That's anyways fun. http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hey, instead of just saying "no one from the US," how 'bout make one with this rule: you may only send to someone in a different country than your own. Or maybe even, a country not contiguous with yours (just in case too many ppl started sending just US-Canada and vice versa). That way USAmericans can participate, but are forced to broaden our mailing horizons, which is always, always, always good. And everyone who gets mail gets some cool international mail out of it!

Everyone always likes getting mail from overseas, and I bet most people like sending it, as long as it's lightweight like most RAK stuff I've heard of.

i have the same views as cyph0r, being from malaysia. it saddens me so.

http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

yet i still try to send people postcards all the time as random acts of kindness, formerly at postcardx.net and starting new this month at nervousness.

cross your fingers that my efforts to make someone smile won't go to waste!

That's a great idea!!! Much nicer as well.. cos I know I don't like USA only LMAOs... lol.

Do people want me to set an official page up for this? Or is there already one I didn't know about?
