I've been going through a really rough depression the past few years...every now and again I'll go through a really rough patch, where my medication needs to be changed or something like this. Well I'm in one right now. So if anybody would like to send me something to cheer me it would be much appreciated. I will send a handmade postcard to you, once I am feeling better, or maybe even before in thanks.

My address is:
Robyn Aycan
225 Church St
Oakville, Ontario
L6J 1N4, Canada

Thanks guys!

I am in the same place, Robyn. I keep trying to think of something great and encouraging to say but nothing is coming out how i'd like it - So I'll trust that in some cosmic way you know I'm sending my sympathy/wellness/whatever vibes your way.

Thank you to PenguinGurl - can u pm me your address -
and Littlest-Bee for sending me happy mail!!

I'm still very much depressed and am not sure what to do. My new job is only making it worse as I want to cry and can't, and everyone is always yelling at me to be fast, but I'm always a slow person, always a slow learner. =(

Feel better.

I'm sorry to hear about your depression.
Fast-paced jobs are very stressful and I'm sure that's not helping your state of mind.
The first few days are usually the toughest but once you get the hang of it (hopefully) you'll start to feel a little better.
Noone expects you to master everything in a day (and if they do, they're being unreasonable). If you're doing your best then that's all that they can ask of you.
Take care!

The best way of cheering yourself up is to work to cheer someone else up. This is one of the best things about Nness; you get the chance to send cool stuff to people to cheer them up. Look for someone who's down and try to cheer them up. It'll help. That's what I'm doing right now - looking to escape things that are impending. (Of course, the fact that I'm listening to an interview with Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch (my hero) and the guy who plays them doesn't hurt.)

So, I can't leave you only with that suggestion. I must also recommend to you this poem, not about depression nor about countering depression, just one of my favorite poems of all time:
http://www.cs.rice.edu/~ssiyer/minstrels/poems/564.html

You might also consider becoming a member of the Wondering Minstrels. Nothing like getting a good poem in your inbox every day.

All. The. Best., Robyn.

wow, really kewl poem http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif I'd suggest you read my poems (just to get more ppl to read them http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif)...but most of mine are depressing, so they prolly wouldn't help http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Hang in there! And remember that crying is OKAY!!! I once told a therapist I was afraid to cry because I'd never stop. She just giggled and said to try it. And...she said it only makes it worse if you try NOT to cry. So...after crying for an hour I did stop...imagine that http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif and I did feel soooo much better. So my rule is now to cry all I want and usually the next day I feel quite cleansed http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

hang in there and look for something from me http://nervousness.org/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Robyn- sending you good thoughts and hugs and a little snail mail cheer too. Hang in there, have a good cry, treat yourself to something nice, create, breath, dance, yell, scream, sing, meditate, pray, do something nice for someone, call a friend, write, read poetry, listen to music, play with a child..... just some ideas for destressing and cheering yourself... I'm working on a list of 101 things for happy living and destressing...I'll send you a copy when I get it done if you want. <3

Hey Baby Chee...I have just the postcard to make you laugh.

By the way, there are other jobs out there too. Life is too short to stay in a situation that aggravates your depression. At any rate, there are many jobs which can make you happier. I hope you find one soon. This one sounds toxic.

Take good care. Postcard on the way today. You don't have to send anything back, unless you really want to /have the time to.

Keep your chin up, sweety.
