So here is my idea... I want to send ATCs to my Army penpal who is stationed in Iraq. I would like to send enough that she can share with her coworkers. I would like to send her a selection of ATCs in different styles, not just my own.
Would anybody else like to join me in this project?
If you would like to send me some ATCs for my penpal, please be sure they are work you are proud of, (I am trying to show why they are so darn addictive) and that they are G rated, as there are restrictions on what kind of pictures can be sent to troops. (A drag I know, but there ya go.)
They do NOT have to be patriotic or whatever! They can be about anything! Your favourite TV shows, books, movies, pets, comics, drawings, abstract, let your imagination go crazy! (I know that some of the guys in her group are really really into Buffy the Vampire Slayer and watch the episodes on DVD)
Something that she has said is that she, and the others I am guessing, just miss everyday stuff, the normal details of life we find boring and take for granted.
I plan to send a package Mid-August, so if you want to send a contribution, please have it to me no later than August 15.
I send letters to her to share with others, some of the troops don't have anyone sending them mail and so she passes on my letters. If you would like to send a letter along, I will send it out. I cannot promise a letter from them in return, their mail is not so fast coming back, but I KNOW they are grateful for the kind thoughts.
WARNING: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WRITE OR SEND NASTYGRAMS TO SEND ON. I DIDN'T VOTE FOR BUSH EITHER BUT I BELIEVE IN SUPPORTING THE TROOPS. I WILL NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SEND THEM HATE MAIL.
Sorry for yelling, but as liberal a tree-hugger-peacenik as I am, I DO believe in supporting our troops. My penpal is in a National Guard Unit, not regular Army. These are NOT folks who signed on as career soldiers, they are people who fill sandbags to save their town from floods and stuff.
